Anniversary Card.

Good evening girls. I made an anniversary card tonight to enter the Die Cut Dreams Challenge. I followed the sketch from Mojo Monday. The other challenge I want to enter is the Creative Inspirations Challenge Blog.I've done a little close up to show the pearly stuff I used on the bells. I thought it would be a bit extravagant to use stick on pearls as I would have needed so many lol! I did use pearls in the corners and round the 25.

Not sure if I actually like this card. I didn't like it at all but after I put the pearls and the Pearly Stuff (Woodward) on it I liked it a bit better. Not a lot, just a bit!

I haven't been very productive today. I had to work in the morning and then spent time checking out my favourite blogs in the afternoon. Then I did some food shopping and had a takeaway. By the time I sat down again it was after 7pm and Mr Blogger has been a bit twisted about uploading my photos to this post. Anyway here it is and if I am too late for Die Cut Dreams it is my own fault LOL!

Enjoy the rest of your weekend and I'm happy to hear what you think of this card good or bad.

Two Gorjuss Girls.

Here's my DT card for this weeks Totally Gorjuss challenge. This week we are asking you to use two Gorjuss Girls on your card. You can put them together or separately we don't mind.

I coloured the Gorjuss Girls with Promarkers with an Inkssentials white gel pen for highlights. I finished the image by lightly chalking round to take the starkness away from the background.
DP:- MME wonderful winter - gorgeous and glittery.
Tools:- Martha Stewart flower and snowflake and edge punches.
Jewels and ribbon from my stash. Snowflakes are cut from glitter paper.
Nearly forgot I used the sketch from the Cupcake Craft challenge.

The card also fits a few challenges:-

Creative Card Crew challenge :- snowflakes.

Simon Says Stamp challenge :- all that sparkles.

Papertake Weekly :- spots and stripes.

So there it is another one for my Christmas card pile. I have to admit I did panic a bit about how I was going to do a card with two images on it lol! I haven't done much masking so I practised on a bit of scrap paper first. What I couldn't figure out at first was how I could use two Gorjuss Girls together in a way that would make sense. Once I had thought of a theme ie Christmas I could see which two images to use. I decided that the girl with the letter could have been writing to Santa on behalf of herself and her little sister. So there you have it.

I hope some of you will want to join us at the Totally Gorjuss challenge this week. I'm looking forward to seeing what you all make this time. I've enjoyed looking at your Gorjuss Girl creations during the last two weeks. Nearly forgot our sponsor this week is Hotshot Craft they have lots of lovely goodies at great prices and are always worth a look.

PS I just discovered my lovely teamie Paola has some lovely candy on her blog. I am posting a piccie on my sidebar and if you click on it you can pop over to her blog for a look.

Too Late!

I'm really annoyed with myself now for wasting so much time earlier today. I didn't have time to finish this card before I went out tonight and when I got back it was too late for the Just Magnolia challenge. I made it really quickly and only had to put together the flowers and add the ribbon and sentiment. Never mind cos I do need to do things in time. I am either quite early with challenges or in at the last minute. I really needed to get my DT card done on time so that was more important! At least I can enter this card in the Sophisticat challenge.

I've used:-

Sketch:- Just Magnolia.

DP:- Basic Grey bittersweet.

Image:- Magnolia.

Colouring:- Promarkers plus white inkssentials opaque gel pen.

EK Success punches and nesties.

Ribbon, button and pearls from stash.

Hope you like. I love this Basic Grey paper it is very easy to find patterns that go together and that makes it easier to make a card. And of course I love pink.

Winner of 3rd mini candy!

Just a quick post to say that I've drawn the winner of my 3rd mini candy and the winner is

Angela at Sparkly Cards. Congratulations Angela and if you send me your details to rkanderson@tiscali.co.uk I'll get the stamp off to you as soon as possible.

I'm still trying to get some candy together to celebrate my DT position at Totally Gorjuss. I'm a bit distracted at the moment waiting for Catriona's baby to arrive. She is really fed up now as yesterday was her due date. The midwife says the baby is ready but I think he is just too cosy where he is!!

I'm off to try to do my DT card if I can concentrate for long enough lol!

Kat xx

3rd Mini Candy.

THIS POST IS PINNED SO PLEASE SCROLL DOWN FOR NEWER POSTS.

Look what I found in among my Magnolias. I'd forgotten I had two Spring Tildas. So she is up for grabs if anyone wants her! I will try to remember to draw a winner on Wednesday evening but I'm sure you'll forgive me if I forget. My daughter's baby is due on Tuesday and at this moment she is still, as far as I know, still at home! She has tried the raspberry leaf tea and last night she was having a curry lol! I think what worries her is that Poppy was 10 days late and then she was induced and it was another 2 days before she went into labour.

I'm shattered as I'm just back from the SECC and we left at 6.30 this morning and got home about 9.30 pm. My feet are "louping" (I'm sure you can understand what this means - if not ask a Scottish friend!) and I think most of us on the bus were the same!

See you tomorrow with something to post. I made 4 cards yesterday but haven't posted the 4th one yet. Although maybe I should have checked when I need to enter one of the challenges.

Tuesday 27 October 2009

Get Well Wishes.

I've managed to sneak a little time this morning to make a quick little...really little card. This is for the Paper Blooms challenge and the Simon Says Stamp challenge.

I used my nesties (of course) to make the card and of course the layers. I've always meant to try a circle card but this is the first one I've ever done. It's quite diddy and cute and there's not a lot you can do with it but it's nice and quick. I coloured the Stampin up image with Promarkers. Not sure if it was wise to layer it cos it tends to overshadow the sentiment. The check paper is a little scrap I found in my pink scraps and I added two Prima flowers and some spotty brads. A little bit of bling on the flowers just brightens it up!

It's a horrible rainy day here again so I'm lucky to get a photo at all. My friend just sent a text a little while ago to say that 2 stamps she ordered yesterday (one for me) had arrived already. We saw a sample card done with this stamp at the SECC on Sunday and needless to say the stamp was sold out. I think it was coming from Dimension Fourth so great customer service and it also shows how good Royal Mail can be.
I read Kath's blog earlier this morning and I think I may have caught her dopey mare virus lol!! I lost my mobile. At the moment because Catriona's baby could arrive any time the phone is always with me! Well I had it when my friend sent a text about the stamp. A wee while later no phone. I was everywhere in a panic...even places I hadn't been earlier. I even looked out the little piece of paper that has all the family mobile numbers and phoned it. I tried downstairs and then upstairs. Just the message that says "the person is unavailable....." Then reason set in and I realised that since there was no ringing sound on the phone and just the message straight away it must not be getting a proper signal. I have a "Really Useful Box" like a hanging file that has 12x12 papers in it and it sits next to me and the Eeyore cover for my phone was on top of the box......yes you guessed it...the phone had slipped down among the papers. Panic over but I felt like such an idiot - so much paper in it I didn't think the phone could slip down among them. Now reason tells me that I should have looked there first but since I was in a panic I didn't!!!
I should post this now and get off to work before I do anything else daft.

Happy Hedgie!

Good afternoon everyone. I have had a day off today after being at the SECC yesterday. It was a great day but very long. I left the house about 6.30am and got home about 9.30pm! Today I have just faffed about but at least I got one card made.

I followed the great sketch from a Spoon full of Sugar challenge. I think it was nice and quick to do so will be useful for the long job of making Christmas cards!! I have used this cute hedgie image again to fit the Allsorts challenge which is to include a furry friend. I can also enter theIncy Wincy Designs challenge as I've used some of my favourite embellishments - flowers and snowflakes. And jewels! And stickles!!

I used:-

DP:- MME wonderful winter.
Colouring:- Promarkers.
Punches:- Martha Stewart and another one for snowflakes and flowers.
Sizzix:- single snowflake.
Jewels from stash and stickles.

I should put the tea on now cos i'm going out tonight to the guild. Busy week - tomorrow is a meeting to sort out the questions for our WRI quiz. I'm on the quiz team so we make up the questions for our own quiz and mark it on the night. Wednesday is a haircut and Thursday night I go to a friend's house for a card making session. For someone who is hardly ever out I am out a lot this week. I was disturbed after I wrote I was going to make the tea. My younger daughter phoned and I got such a fright cos her sister's baby is due any time now!!! I think this is part of the reason I can't seem to settle to doing anything today. I haven't even had a play with my new stash. Maybe I'll have some news soon.....but don't hold your breath.

Yesterday's card.

This is the last of yesterday's cards and the one that took me all the time! I think it is the last of the baby boy cards I need lol. I coloured one of my favourite Whiff of Joy stamps for baby cards with Promarkers. I love the pram charm which I see you can hardly make out... not sure why because it is hanging from the flower over the circle and the ribbon is under the circle....strange!!

I have made this card for the Creative Card Crew challenge - Babies and children.

and the Whiff of Joy challenge - Sketch plus Whiff of Joy stamp.

I used:- DCWV nana's nursery baby boy, nesties, Promarkers, charm, jewels, ribbon, pearl brad and punched hand made flower.

I'm probably too late for the Creative Card Crew challenge but at least I'm in time for the Whiff of Joy. Tomorrow I should get on with my DT card for Totally Gorjusss. Hope to see your entries for this wees challenge which is for a shaped card.

Now I need my coffee and bed!!!

Kat xx

2nd mini candy winner.

Apologies for the delay in announcing the winner of my second mini candy but I was so busy last night that I forgot to draw it. I have been the the craft show at the SECC today and have been away since 6.30 this morning so I have drawn a winner now. The winner is no. 10 Liz. If you get in touch with me Liz at rkanderson@tiscali.co.uk and I'll get it off to you asap mail strikes permitting.

Busy Day Off.

I've used my day off to try to make cards for a few challenges since I am off to the SECC about 6.30 tomorrow and home about 9pm. Needless to say I have booked a day off work on Monday.

The first card is for the Sophisticat Challenge. It also fits the Charisma Cardz challenge. It has daisies on it.

DP:- MME merry days of Christmas.
Image:- Anitas stamped 3 times and decoupaged.
Coloured with Spica glitter gel pens.
Snowflakes:- Martha Stewart punch.
I meant to take another photo to show the 3d effect but I forgot!

This card is for the Pink Elephant.

DP:- Basic Grey.
Image:- Hobby Arts.
Coloured with Promarkers and glazed with Diamond Glaze.
Scallops cut with Stampin up edge punch.

The last card is for the Mojo Monday challenge.
DP:- DCWV La Creme.
Image:- Hero Arts.
Flowers:- Prima.

Good thing the clocks go back tonight but I am still going to be in trouble for being late.

See you tomorrow with the winner of my mini candy and I'll tell you how good or bad I've been about buying more stash lol!!

Enjoy the rest of your weekend.

Kat xx

2nd Mini Candy.

This candy is now closed. Sorry that I have been so busy this evening that I completely forgot to choose a winner. I will do it tomorrow when I get back from the SECC.

This is my second mini candy. This time it is Tilda. When I ordered this with some other stamps I must have accidentally ordered two and didn't check properly before I placed the order. Sometimes I get 2 of something in my Tesco home shopping because I am in too much of a hurry to check properly. So it is my own fault! Tilda is mounted on EZ mount and she is new and completely unused. So if you would like this lovely Tilda just leave a comment under this post and I will choose a winner on Saturday night at 8pm.

Good luck

Allsorts 23 and Secret Crafter 54.

I made this card quickly for the challenges forthe Allsorts challenge and the Secret Crafter Saturday challenge. Maybe it's a bit basic, what do you think?

DP - DCWV rose tinted Christmas.
Image - Clarity stamps. Stamped with raspberry Vivid inkpad and embossed with transparent embossing powder. Not an old old stamp but I have had it for a while.
Pale pink glittery stamps cut with 3 different punches.
Ribbon, jewels and pearls from stash.

Thanks for looking and enjoy your weekend.

Totally Gorjuss 2 Shaped Card.

I wasn't sure when the Totally Gorjuss 2nd challenge would be posted so I went off to work without posting on my blog. It has been posted on the TG blog so now I can show you it on mine. It does not look much like a spring card but it is honest! The weather has been incredibly bad here for days - wet, dark, wetter so I wasn't able to get a very good photo.DP:- MME laundry line - lovely and thick and glittery.
Colouring:- Promarkers for the Gorjuss Girl and a Spica glitter gel pen to make little lines on the flowers.
Prima flowers, brads and jewels from stash.

I hope many of you want to join our challenge this week. We were pretty pleased with how many of you joined us last week. Tomorrow I have a day off so I'm hoping to get a few things done since I am off to buy some lovely new stash at the SECC on Sunday. Sneakily I have booked the day off on Monday so that I can play with my new stash or do my ironing?? No contest is there?

Friday!

Good morning girls - now that Mr Blogger has stopped being a pain! First of all I just want to show you a sympathy card I made for one of my elderly customers who has just lost her hysband. Kath was showing us some cards she had made with some new Hero Arts stamps she had bought from The Glitter Pot. So I had to have a look! I didn't have to buy any but of course I did lol!! Since this was for an elderly lady and her family I have kept it very simple.

I embossed a piece of Coredinations whitewash with the script folder and edged it with the same brown I used to stamp the sentiment. I added some pink to the other side of the card....I know it would have been simpler if I had used pink card! I added a piece of white edged with the MS scalloped lace punch and layered the sentiment on top. The flowers were coloured with Promarkers. The sentiment was also edged with a brown memento ink pad.

The next card is one I made following the sketch from the Penny Black Saturday Challenge. Isn't this a cute stamp from Penny Black?
I did this close-up to show that I have embossing on my card for the Whimsy Challenge. I realise now I could have entered the previous card as it has more obvious embossing on it lol!

Can you see my embossing?

The other challenges I am entering are:-
Die Cut Dreams - Winter Wonderland.
Passion for Promarkers -Poppy and Forest Green. (Well how could I resist a challenge when one of the colours is Poppy?)
DP - Bo Bunny Tis the Season.
Nesties, Promarkers, EK Success punches, stickles and DecoArt Snow Writer. Brads from stash.
Since Mr Blogger was being a bit unhelpful earlier this morning I need to go and check out the Totally Gorjuss blog as we are due to post our second challenge today. I hope some of you will want to join us again this week.

I should be back later with my DT card!

Just Magnolia 27 and Stamping for the Weekend.

First of all girls I must apologise for the quality of the photos but we have had so much rain since yesterday that you almost need a snorkel and flippers to walk the dogs lol!! I have had to have the light on all day so that does not add up to good photos.

I quickly made this simple card for the Just Magnolia Challenge and the Stamping for the Weekend Challenge.

The first photo doesn't really show how zingy the colours are and the snowflakes are not very clear so I have done one of my strange angle photos which shows the snowflakes a bit better and the colours are a bit brighter - I hope!

The weird angle!

I used:-

DP:- MME colourful Christmas
Colouring:- Promarkers and turquoise Vivid inkpad.
Image:- Tilda in overalls - just humour me pretend she is wearing a snowsuit or ski-suit.
Nesties, Sizzix and Martha Stewart punch.
Jewels coloured with orange promarker, stickles on pompom on hat, other jewels, buttons and string from stash.

Not sure if I like this card or not, what do you think. I'll have to add it to my pile of Christmas cards anyway - I still need a lot more.

Maybe be back later with another card.

Judith@Poppy Cottage has blog candy!

This is the blog candy that Judith@Poppy Cottage is offering to celebrate her son Ryan's 18th birthday. This is just the start of it! She will be adding more goodies over the next week as she is having a bit of a clearout in her craft room. Pop over for a look as she will be updating her blog as she finds more goodies to add to her candy.

Sugar Bowl 21

Well who's the silly person who realised at 5 to 10 that she hadn't done her card for the Sugar Bowl Challenge. Trust me, after all I've only had 2 weeks to do it. Might just make it if I enter now and then finish this post!!

Well I've entered....a bit late but better late than never and it's not midnight yet. I'm really going to have to do what I need to do and then wander round my favourite blogs lol!!

This was a great sketch from Tiets. At first I thought it was impossible to do in a short time. I probably haven't done it justice but I was in a hurry.

I used:-

DP:- MME wonderful winter - I love this paper.

Colouring:-Promarkers and Sakura stardust gel pens.

Martha Stewart snowflake punch and embossed snowflake edge punch, Nesties, gems from stash.

So that's another Christmas card for the pile. Still not a very big pile but it's growing.

Tomorrow is my day off so hopefully I'll get some time to craft.

Baby Cards.

Good morning girls. I thought I was going to be out of luck with the weather today because it was very dull and dark earlier. But I have managed to get a couple of photos taken while the sun was out. Might just be a little blink but I've got my photos and I'm happy lol!

First of all I have a card I've made for Poppy when she becomes a big sister. (Just a week till Catriona's due date!) The little girl is a bit bright for the rest of the card but her top has been coloured in "Poppy" Promarker lol! I've used the same gorgeous papers as the previous baby card I made. I either keep using a favourite paper....or I don't! I couldn't find buttons that fitted in so I thought I would use the clear buttons I bought the other week, cut round them on some patterned paper, stick them through the Xyron and stick on the card. Well I couldn't find the buttons could I? OK I'll use my new Martha Stewart embossed button punch....no the button would be too big. So not one to be stuck I punched out two little circles and made a couple of holes in them. I would have glazed them but this paper is so gorgeous and glittery that I just left them alone. I'm quite pleased with it so I hope Poppy likes it.

The second card is one I made quickly this morning just because I need a few baby boy cards. It was really quick to make once I decided to stop faffing around trying to choose different papers and just use the same papers again. I think I might just go ahead and make a baby girl one to the same basic design. Isn't this a gorgeous image from Pink Gem Designs. I'm going to enter it in Janet's prize draw to win six of her stamps and also a chance to be a guest designer. That would be awesome!

I'm entering the Simon Says Stamp Challenge with the first card and the Carol's Sketch Fun with the second one.

I've used:-
Sketches:- first - Simon Says Stamp Challenge.
Second:- Carol's Sketch Fun.
DP:- DCWV nana's nursery
Also - Promarkers, nesties, EK Success punches, and circle punch. And ribbon and pearls from stash.

Hope you like. And please remember my mini candy ends at 8pm tonight.

Kat xx

Edited to add - thanks to Kath for posting about new Hero Arts stamps over at The Glitter Pot. Yes I know I didn't have to go over there and have a look but like Kath when I saw them I couldn't help buying some. Oh dear and I'm trying to save my pennies for the SECC on Sunday lol!!!

Saturday 17 October 2009

How do you pin a post?

Hi girls, can anyone help me with this? I want to do a post about some mini blog candy and keep it at the top of my blog for a few days but I can't figure out what to do! I can see how to schedule a post but not how to keep one in place so it can be found easily.

Thanks for your anticipated help.

Baby Card

I'm needing to make a few baby cards so the Die Cut Dreams challenge seemed ideal. The cute little charm has not photographed very well but it is a little teddy bear....sweet! I love this sweet image from Whiff of Joy, it is one of my favourite stamps for baby cards.

DP - DCWV Nana's nursery -baby boy -this one is lovely and glittery.

Flowers - Heidi Grace. Flowers are a favourite embellishment along with ribbon.

Image - Whiff of Joy.

From stash - card, buttons, ribbon, charm, brad and spacer.

Colouring - Promarkers.

Stitching - mini sewing machine.

Challenges:-

Cupcake Craft Challenge - Buttons and stitching.

Whimsy - Punchy.

Whiff of Joy - Image and die cut.

Paperplay - Favourite embellishments.
Stamp Something - Bling (DP and ribbon are both glittery).

If the Shoe Fits Scrap It - Bling it.

Hopefully I have complied with all these challenges! Must go now and enter them before I forget lol!!
Might be back later with some mini candy.

Thinking about Blog Candy!

Just a quick post to say that I'm hoping to check out my stash and see what I can offer as Blog Candy to celebrate my new position on the Totally Gorjuss DT. First of all I might offer one or two stamps that I accidentally have two of.

Also I have reset my hit counter as a few weeks ago it suddenly jumped from about 6,000 to about 11,000 for no apparent reason. I don't like to look as if I have had a massive number of hits when I haven't so that is the reason for the re-set. Taken me a while to do it but that is it at last lol!!

See you tomorrow for the start of the Totally Gorjuss 1st challenge.

Kat xx

PS I was just checking out some of the blogs I follow and Bev has some candy that she has put on her blog for her friend Moira. It's yummy candy so why not pop over to Bev's blog and check it out!

Autumn Colours

Just a quick post now cos I'm going out to a card making session at a friend's house tonight. I thought I'd occupy my mind by making a card for a few challenges. I'm so nervous about the launch of the Totally Gorjuss first challenge tomorrow that I need to occupy my mind. I know this is silly but I feel quite jittery inside. I didn't think I would feel like this but it's a big thing for me. I've only been blogging since about the 20th of June so I feel as if I've come a long way since then!

I used:-

DP:- MME bloom and grow.

Image:- Tilda with pumpkin.

Nesties, Promarkers, Martha Stewart punch.

Ribbon, lace and buttons from my stash.

Challenges entered:-

Just Magnolia :- Sketch.

Stamp Something:- Brown plus something else.

Stamping for the weekend:- Orange, brown and leafy green.

The Pink Elephant:- Autumn.

The Secret Crafter Saturday Challenge:- Autumn Colours.

By the Cute and Girly:-Autumn Glory.

Papertake Weekly:-The dark side - Halloween.

Cute Card Thursday:- Spook Fest.

Creative Card Crew:- Scallops.

Hope I've got all that right.

I think you will like it so come on all you Gorjuss Girl addicts prepare to ink up your favourite Gorjuss Girl and join us.

Hope to see you tomorrow.

Totally Gorjuss First DT Card.

Good morning girls. I am so nervous about my very first DT card for Totally Gorjuss. I'm so scared that everyone will think it is awful!! I've had a bit of a problem trying to get a photo of it. It has been very dull here and by the time I get home from work it is pointless to try! On Wednesday afternoon it was nice and bright but I was at a friend's house. Thursday was supposed to be nice but up until this time it has not happened. Then after a couple of unsuccessful piccies my clever clogs camera announced that it's battery was low. Immediate panic lol! Tried in the conservatory and then managed to get one outside before the camera died.

I need an 18th birthday card for my niece so I think this one will be perfect for her. Hope she likes it! I've use one of my favourite Gorjuss Girls available from Funky Kits. She has been coloured with Promarkers and her hair has been highlighted with an Inkssentials opaque white pen.

This is just a little close up of my flowers. I love these EK Success punches for making flowers. I punched out the larger size three times using the card I used for matting and once with the smaller size using the paler DP. Then just finished off with a little flat backed pearl.

As you can see I sewed round the edges with my mini sewing machine - I felt brave. I doodled round the image with an American Crafts precision pen.

Materials used:-

Sketch:- Passion for Promarkers.

DP:- Basic Grey 'bittersweet'.

Tools:- Nesties, mini sewing machine, Promarkers, EK Success punches and Inkssentials white opaque pen.

Plus flat backed pearls and jewel to finish.

I hope you like my first DT card and I also hope a lot of you very talented girls will want to join in our very first challenge over at Totally Gorjuss. You must check out the cards my lovely teamies have made - they are beautiful they are all very talented ladies. I'm really looking forward to checking out your lovely entries.

Cute Christmas Card.

I made another Christmas card today to add to my pile. I think I have all of 21 now! Sorry about the weird angle of the photo. It has been very wet here today and the light has been dreadful. The card wasn't finished before I went to work this afternoon but even then the light was too bad to take a decent photo. I haven't used this gorgeous MME merry days of Christmas paper before. It has lovely soft colours and is double sided. I've used red for the base card and for matting...again. I've used red quite a lot so far this year for my Christmas cards. This very happy hedgie from Penny Black has been coloured with Promarkers and the snowflakes and ground beneath his feet has been stickled.

I am entering a few challenges with this card:-

Creative Inspirations Wednesday Challenge:- Sketch.

Cute Card Thursday:- So charming.

Charisma Cardz:- 1 ribbon, 3 flowers, 3 papers and 1 charm.

Penny Black Saturday Challenge:-Buttons and bows.

Creative Inspirations:- Christmas.

Also used:- nesties and Martha Stewart punch. Snowflake charm, ribbon, buttons and string from my stash.

I hope I am not pushing my luck with the ribbon! I have also tied the red string through the button in bows so I think I have added all the ingredients for the challenges I am entering lol !!

This hedgie is so cheeerful - you can't help smiling at him, he is obviously enjoying the snow!!

I will enter the challenges now and then for me it is the pure joy of doing my Tesco online shopping - wonderful.....not.

Then I can plan my first DT card for Totally Gorjuss! Hope we have a brighter day before I have to take a photo of it!! I hope a lot of you are going to check out the new challenge blog at Totally Gorjuss and enter our first challenge which starts on Friday 16th October. I'm looking forward to checking out your lovely creations!!

If I get my shopping done soon I'll have time to check out some of my favourite blogs tonight.

Halloween!!!

Yes I know I promised that I was finished posting for today but this is just a little fun card I made this evening. I really have to post a better photo in the morning...but can I please assure you that the colours are black, orange, purple and white. No matter what I try the purple is determined to look blue!

I've used the sketch from Aly's Sunday Challenge. Aly is a very talented stamper and she is only 10 years old. Pop over to her blog and you will see her amazing work.
The challenge over at Pile it on is to use Aly's sketch so I can enter it too.
There are some Halloween challenges around so I am entering them too. They are:-
Simon Says Stamp Challenge.
Allsorts challenge.
A Spoon Full of Sugar challenge
The Pink Elephant challenge. Halloween using the colours black, orange purple and white.

The DP is MME and I've coloured this lovely Tilda with Pumpkin with Promarkers. Nesties were used to cut the shapes and the flowers were cut using a Martha Stewart punch. I finished off with ribbon, jewels and brads from my stash.

I am off to iron now as it is Sunday night again already and I work all day tomorrow - yuk. I have had two Saturdays and Mondays off in a row so now I need to work two Mondays before I have the Monday off after the craft show in Glasgow. Hope the time passes quickly - think I will take the Sunday paper with me.

Not sure what use a Halloween card is to me but I can't resist a challenge lol!

Papertake Weekly 25

This is the last one.....honest! I've use Honey with present from Sugar Nellies and the lovely DP Tis the season from Bo Bunny again. She has been coloured with Promarkers and the card is finished off with some ribbon from my stash. This is a really useful sketch from Papertake Weekly. I'm sure I will be using it again.

So that's the last of my creations from the crop. Hope you liked (some of) them. I am really enjoying the new papers I have bought this year from MME and Bo Bunny. And yesterday I bought some new DP from Fancy Pants called Christmas Magic so you can expect to see it soon!!

Best go now and quickly check how tea is getting on. Roast beef yummm.

Enjoy the last remaining little bit of your weekend.

Mojo Monday 107

I'm getting there....just one more after this one!! Do you like this sketch from Mojo Monday? It was really easy to work with - especially for someone like me! I used the inevitable nesties to cut out the circles. I stamped and embossed some snowflakes with silver before adding the lovely big Cuttlebug snowflake which is edged with distress ink in fired brick. The gorgeous glittered DP is from MME's wonderful winter collection. I'm surprised I can use it because every sheet is very glittery and gorgeous lol! I finished off the card with some jewels, ribbon, button and string from my stash.

You must be getting really fed up with me today but I promise I have only one more of this series of Christmas cards to show you.

Sophisticats 5 and House Mouse DT Call.

This is my second card from the crop. I used the lovely sketch from Sophisticats Challenge 5. This is great sketch because it can be as simple or as ornate as you want. I am also entering this in the DT call for House Mouse Challenge Blog.I have used a lovely House Mouse image coloured with Promarkers and watercolour pencil. The snowflake is a Sizzix and the flowers are punched out from some of the papers with EK Success punches and finshed off with jewels from my stash. The corner is cut out of the DP with a punch and the button and string are from my stash. The Sophisticat challenge also asks for bling - the snowflake is from glitter paper, the flowers have jewels and the lovely wonderful winter paper from MME is all glittered and lush.

I'm just a bit worried now that the card is too plain for a DT call!! Well not plains so much as maybe the image is too simple. Some of my House Mouse stamps are quite big and since I am in Christmas card making mode at the moment I limited myself to choosing only from my Christmas images. Stop waffling Kat and just post LOL!!!

Two down, two to go!!

Sketch and Stash 20.

Good afternoon girls, today I would like to show you the cards I finished making at the crop yesterday. This one is for Sketch and Stash Challenge#20.

I coloured the lovely Honey with Present image from Sugar Nellies with my Promarkers. The papers are the gorgeous Bo Bunny Tis the Season. I love them they are so fresh and bright. I have to confess that for some obscure reason I made her hat and scarf and glove yellow and it was horrible - totally out of place, so I went over the top with powder blue to give a green similar to the base card. Iused a new Martha Stewart snowflake punch I bought at the crop and one I already had to punch out the snowflakes from glitter card. I added some Fired Brick distress ink to the snowflakes and finished off with some ribbon from my stash. The sentiment is from Penny Black and nesties were used to cut the circles.

Back soon with another card.

New Challenge Blog - Totally Gorjuss!!

Good news girls for everyone who loves the Gorjuss Girls from Sugar Nellies. There is a new challenge blog starting soon. I have been very very lucky to have been chosen to join the Design Team. I really, really hope I can make a success of this. This is my very first DT position and I am so excited I don't know what to do with myself. I'd like to congratulate all the girls who will be my team mates. The only one I "know" is Lisa from Wishcrafts but I am looking forward to working with and getting to know all the girls. I would just like to say thank you to Net for inviting me to join the Totally Gorjuss DT and I can't wait to get started. My mind is racing ahead with ideas already.

I've been to a crop today.

I went to a crop at my local craft shop today. Unfortunately I had to work in the morning! I had four cards prepared so I got them more or less finished...I just need to check if there are any finishing touches I need to make. I was so well organised that I ran out of things to do. I had plenty of stuff with me but I had no Promarkers or watercolour pencils with me so I was a bit stuck for things to do. Probably another one in 4 weeks time so I will hopefully be better organised. Why is it you always take stuff you don't need and don't take the things you do. I am learning though. Now I will finish these cards and plan what else to do - they are all Christmas cards so I am slowly getting on with them...very slowly lol!!

I have something special to do as well but I will tell you about that another time.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend.

Sketch Saturday 71.

Good afternoon girls - just a quick post before I make tea and go to work. I made this Christmas card for the Sketch Saturday challenge. I love this Honey with present stamp from Sugar Nellies isn't she cute and that adorable little dog awwww. I also love the flowers you can make with the Martha Stewart punches. Materials used:-
Red textured card from local paper mill.
Memento tuxedo black ink.
Promarkers.
Martha Stewart punch.
MME wonderful winter papers - all gorgeous and glittered!
Button and red string from stash.

I'm going to a crop tomorrow after work so this evening I must try to get myself organised for that lol! Last time I took loads of stuff I didn't need but forgot a couple of things I really needed. Should still have time to check out some blogs though!!

Thanks for looking and please let me know what you think. I love to visit other people's blogs and see what they are making.

Friday Challenges.

Good afternoon everyone (I'm being cheeky here assuming anyone is going to read this!) I have had a nice day off here. The weather has been lovely, after the frost this morning we had lots of sun...but we have had a couple of showers too! Hope it has been nice where you are.

I managed to make a card for the Just Magnolia challenge - one of my favourites. Isn't Tilda cute all dressed up ready to go to school! I think these Sandylion papers fit the "school" theme very well. Tilda has been coloured with Promarkers and so has the apple. I used my EK Success punches to make my hand made flowers. The base card is Kraft card from Jillibean and I think it fits the theme well too. It makes me think of school books covered with brown paper lol!! Ribbon, brads and jewels are from my stash.

I'm meaning to enter a few challenges with this card:-

Just Magnolia :- Handmade flowers.

Friday Sketchers :- Sketch.

Stamp Something :- Something with apples, teachers, school.

Allsorts Challenge :- Use the colour "Kraft."

I'm off to post this now and enter these challenges and then get on with tea and dog walking and then I can do some more crafting. I love having a day off. I've even managed to read one of the daily papers today. Usually only manage to do that when I'm at work lol!

Thanks for looking and hope you like.

Sugar Bowl 20

Hi girls it's me again! This is the other card I made today. This one is for the Sugar Bowl challenge. Isn't Gayle's sketch lovely. Simple and easy to use...just what I like lol! I love this Basic Grey paper. It's from the bittersweet collection and I got it on Saturday at Stampaholics in Perth. First time I have been there but it certainly won't be the last. I used this lovely charity stamp by Diane Duda for Sugar Nellies. I paper pieced her dress with the lighter DP. The rest of her is coloured with Promarkers and the wings are coloured with a Sakura clear glitter gel pen which unfortunately is not obvious from the photo! I added gems, ribbon, Prima flowers and brads from my stash. Nesties were used to cut the rectangles as usual.I love the colours of these papers...I love pink. Now I need to go and amend the previous post to add the other challenges I am entering. I was at my WRI meeting this evening and we had visitors from another WRI to entertain. Our vice president was in charge and asked me to do the vote of thanks!!! I never do the vote of thanks, never have done....till tonight. I do not do public speaking. At the agm it is as much as I can do to tell the members what our finances are like and where the money has come and gone throughout the year lol! It's the only bit of being the treasurer I don't like - I prefer to just sit quietly. I was quietly pleased that I managed to do the vote of thanks without making a complete idiot of myself but I really hope never to do it again.

My day off tomorrow so I hope I can get a decent amount of crafting done. I have a crop to go to on Saturday....I can only go in the afternoon as I want to make sure I still have some free days off when my daughter has her baby. Less than 3 weeks to go. I'm getting quite excited now!!!

See you tomorrow and thanks for looking.

Hot Pink, Dusky Pink and Ice Chocolate.

I need to post this very quickly as the deadline for the Colour Create challenge is 6pm! I used this fabby sketch and this gorgeous image from Whiff of Joy. I used my Promarkers to colour the image. All shapes have been cut out with my nesties. I stamped some swirls in dark brown on the floral paper behind the image with a Basic Grey swirl stamp and the papers are also from Basic Grey. I added some flowers and ribbon from by stash. I love the pearls on the flowers. I love the colours in this card especially the hot pink I used for matting. Luckily I had bought the new Promarker colours from Joanna Sheen as one of the new colours is Hot Pink.

I have a few challenges to enter with this card but I will have to come back later to finish this post. I am expecting a Tesco delivery and I need to make tea and go out. It is WRI night and for my sins I am the treasurer lol!!

Secret Crafter Saturday Challenge :- Celebration.

Whiff of Joy challenge :- Sketch.

I've just emailed a photo of a card made using a Gorjuss Girl image to a new challenge blog called Totally Gorjuss. They have a DT call out just now and the closing date is 7th October so if you are interested why not give it a go - there's still time.

Papertake Weekly

I seem to be making up for my lack of posts over the weekend lol! This is a very quick and simple card I made for the Papertake Weekly challenge using the sketch from Carol's Sketch Fun. Sometimes I like simple. I used some DP from Doodlebug Designs and a stamp from Hero Arts. I think this would be suitable for a sympathy card. It might do for sale at a coffee morning we are having in November. The sentiment is from Inkadinkado and the ribbon is from my stash. I think the image could have been blacker but on the other hand I didn't want it to be too black. Does that make sense?

So now I ought to do some ironing... even though it is my day off. I had lots of fun yesterday even if I did do a lot of ironing for my daughter. She deserves a wee bit of help, it's not a lot of fun working when you're 37 weeks pregnant. Still that was her last day at work today. Hope this baby arrives at a reasonable time and not 12 days late like Poppy. Poppy is so funny now lol! She is not 2 yet but she was treating us to Baa Baa Black Sheep, See Saw Marjory Daw and Twinkle Twinkle and she is a real chatterbox. You don't always know what she is saying, sometimes you have to guess! She loves her dog but I'm not sure how the dog will cope when there are two of them after her, poor Missy.

Off to enter Papertake Weekly:- Black and white and one other colour and Carol's Sketch Fun. Hope to be back tomorrow with something else.

Another Christmas Card.

Well after wasting the entire morning, well not an entire waste. I went to Tesco briefly since my son is going to be staying for a couple of days this week again. I also went to the vet's and got worming tablets for the dogs - treat for them in a few minutes lol !! And of course I had to do the washing and get it outside.

Isn't this a great sketch from Truly Scrumptious and I even managed to do some doodling on it. I coloured the lovely winter Anya from the Greetings Farm with Promarkers. Isn't she lovely? I used some gorgeous Christmas DP from Bo Bunny - I love this paper. I decoupaged Anya's muff, earmuffs, pompoms of scarf, hem of coat and top of her boots and stickled them all too. I added some strips of ribbon and topped them with some buttons from my stash. Nearly forgot to mention that I had doodled round the image for the Truly Scrumptious challenge.

I hope you like this card and I have a few challenges to enter with it.

Truly Scrumptious:- Sketch and doodling.

A Spoon Full of Sugar:- Christmas.

Pile it on:- 3d.

Creative Card Crew:- Sparkle.

Charisma Cardz:- Decoupage.

Simon Says Stamp Challenge:- Red and green.

Anyone for Anya:- You're Anya.

I'm off to make tea now and sort out my washing to iron later (or maybe tomorrow!). See you all later if I can get time to check out some blogs.

Mojo Monday 106

No time to explain just to say that this is my entry for the Mojo Monday challenge. Probably too late but I have been away from home! Sorry for the strange angle but snowflakes don't photograph well at night!
Now it is Monday and I can explain what I did. I made the card using the lovely sketch from Mojo Monday. I used the gorgeous papers from MME's wonderful winter collection. I love this paper soo much! I made the snowflake from glitter paper with a Cuttlebug die, inked lightly round the edges with Faded Jeans Distress Ink and 3d'd it. It is such a useful die - I love it. I stamped some snowflakes on the white card behind the 3d snowflake but they're a bit faint unfortunately! There are also glittery snowflakes on the red paper. I also inked round the white square with Worn Lipstick Distress Ink. I added a ribbon from my stash.
Maybe this photo is a bit better than the other one?
I could also have entered this card in the Pollycraft challenge as it has snowflakes, sparkle, and stripes. Unfortunately I forgot!!! What an idiot.
Thanks for looking and I hope everyone had a lovely weekend. I had a lovely weekend visiting my daughter and family. I could have used my laptop but I didn't have time. I had a lot of new curtains to iron and I also ironed the clothes she washed on Sunday and looked after little chatterbox or Poppy as she is usually called!! Don't know how I thought I had time to craft. Today I have a lovely day off but now I have my washing and ironing.

Ten Challenges

Good morning girls and what a lovely morning it is. I have been a good girl today, I have hoovered and dusted and watered plants before I finished this card. I didn't get it finished yesterday before I went out for the evening because I managed to cut my finger while I was making tea. I really did have a clumsy day yesterday lol!!
Anyway I am hoping that this card fits no fewer than 10 challenges. I think I have gone a bit over the top with this one lol!! We are going to visit our daughter tomorrow and I am going to a Stampin Up party this evening so I need to think ahead.
I made this card using the lovely sketch from Sketch Saturday. I watercoloured this cute image from Penny Black. My DP is from Basic grey and I embossed the plain pink with my Cuttlebug swiss dots folder. I used a punch to cut out the little hearts and the tag is from a punch too. The ribbon and eyelets are from my stash. I couldn't find a suitable stamp to fit the theme (and the tag) so I used some black peeloffs - knew they would come in useful eventually!

The challenges I hope to enter are:-

Penny Black Saturday Challenge:- Chocolate, lemon and pink.

Sketch Saturday:- Sketch.

Secret Crafter:- Animal antics.

Die Cut Dreams:- Ribbon and trims.

Pile it on:- Let them eat cake.

Whimsy:- Eyelets.

The Pink Elephant:- Dots, punch, tag.

Creative Inspirations Wednesday Challenge:- Letters/numbers.

Cute Card Thursday:-First birthday.

ABC:- E for embossing.

Wow I'm tired just listing them LOL!! You probably all think I'm nuts now but some of these are challenges I always try to enter and some are ones I enter sometimes if I fancy them so I saw them while I was browsing blogs. Just humour me......!

I'm off now to be a good girl and clean the bathroom, make the tea, have my lunch and go to work.

Not sure how I am going to cope with no internet for a couple of days but I dare say Poppy will keep me busy. She is turning into a real little chatterbox now and always busy. Her mum starts her maternity leave on Tuesday so I think she is not going to have a quiet time before the baby comes lol!!

I'll maybe get a chance to check out some blogs later if I'm not home too late. Have a nice weekend girls, I'm hoping to check out Stampaholics in Perth on my way to Crieff tomorrow. I've heard that it's a really good shop.

I'm Jinxed!

I'm convinced I'm jinxed today! Yesterday my 5-7pm Tesco home delivery had still not appeared by 8pm so I phoned customer services (very reluctantly) to see what was wrong. When I eventually got a real person she checked and said a van had broken down and had no-one phoned me. I managed not to say would I be phoning her if I knew what was wrong ?- no I kept my temper and remained polite!! To cut a long story short I was put through to Aberdeen, more apologies, a promise to re-schedule for today and I'll get them to phone you back to sort out a time!!!! 15 minutes on phone and another 15 minutes wait for someone to phone back. This morning about the end of the 2 hour slot the driver phoned to say he was still in Aberdeen and would be about half an hour! Turns out he had a puncture first thing. Shopping was more or less ok.... but...and there's always a but isn't there? I didn't notice an unwanted substitution did I? Maybe someone could explain to me why in a store that size (and it is BIG) if they didn't have the decaff coffee I ordered did they send me COFFEE BEANS? And no they were not decaff coffee beans either. Anyway enough ranting and on with today's first card.
I used this lovely simple sketch from Friday Sketchers. I used Promarkers, including two of the new pink shades to colour this lovely Tilda image. The grey DP is from Peppercorn and the pink is from Craft Creations. I distressed some of the edges for the Friday Sketchers challenge. I finished off with jewels and some lovely spotty ribbon from my stash. Nearly forgot I also used a Sakura clear glitter gel pen on her wings - remembered to do it after I had taken a photo so had to retake photo! It's that sort of day. I am also entering the card in the Stamp Something challenge which is looking for a card using a favourite sketch. This sketch is really simple but effective, easily a favourite!
Not sure if I am entirely happy with this card - I feel as if I am having a bit of a clumsy day today!! But I have just received a lovely parcel from Tracy at Dies to Die For so that has cheered me up - 60s Tilda is in it and I have been looking forward to getting her. I'm off now to see if I can get some more useful crafting done. See you later -maybe!
