Simple Sympathy Card.

Hi everyone, I don't know about where you are but it's pretty cold here. Frosty first thing which isn't so bad, could be worse lol! At least the dogs don't get into such a mess when it's frosty. But later on it started to rain. I can hardly see my car now for mud. It's covered! The road near here gets pretty muddy as they need to get silage bales out of a field to feed the cattle indoors. We used to have a farm so it doesn't bother us, though it would be nice to have a clean car for more than a few minutes.

I made a Sympathy card for one of the girls at work. Her father-in-law died suddenly on Sunday. He was rushed into hospital last Tuesday with a heart attack. After lots of tests they discovered a fair amount of damage to his heart. On Wednesday she said he really wanted to make his 91st birthday on Thursday. So he made it! He was quite a character and we'll all miss him.

I used :-
Image :- Penny Black.
Colouring :- Promarkers.
Sentiment :- Hero Arts.
Ribbon, black stickles.

Challenges :-
Die Cut Dreams :- Sympathy.
Charisma :- Clean and Simple. Hope it is CAS enough!
Papertake Weekly :- Happy Highlights - I used black stickles to highlight the flowers.

I'm off to do a bit of catching up now and finish off my Tesco home shopping.

Thanks for looking hope you like!

Snowy Day Again.

Good afternoon girls from a very snowy part of Aberdeenshire! Very unexpected snow I might add. I went over to work, finished what I had to do and came home about 8.30. Just after 9.30 my daughter said "where did all that snow come from?" I hadn't even seen it!! Upstairs where I craft there are a couple of Velux windows but I hadn't even noticed what was happening. It snowed quite heavily for a while after that so there is quite a lot of snow now. It has stopped now but the sky looks very dark. I was supposed to go out tonight too! This morning it was very frosty and there had been no mention of snow in the weather forecast yesterday. Lucky it's my day off.

But now on to my card. I've used a lovely Tilda that has never seen ink before - only due to lack of time because she is really pretty isn't she?

Materials used:-

DP :- K&Co.

Colouring :- Promarkers and Precision pen for the faux stitching.

Flowers :- Prima.

Buttons, jewels and string coloured with Promarker to match, ribbons, stickles.

I am going to enter a few challenges with this card :-

One Stitch at a Time :- Stitching.

The Pink Elephant :- Ribbon.

Passion for Promarkers :- Any colours plus buttons and bows.

Sophisticat challenge :- Stitching.

Magnolia Down Under :- Buttons, flowers and bows.

Die Cut Dreams :- 3 DP, 2 different ribbons, 2 flowers and gems.

Friday Sketchers :- Sketch.

Crafty Creations :- Stitching.

Well I'm off to have my lunch now and then get on with my DT cards for next week. If you have snow keep warm and safe.

PS Don't forget to enter my blog candy, it finishes next Thursday.

Anniversary Card.

Good evening girls. I made an anniversary card tonight to enter the Die Cut Dreams Challenge. I followed the sketch from Mojo Monday. The other challenge I want to enter is the Creative Inspirations Challenge Blog.I've done a little close up to show the pearly stuff I used on the bells. I thought it would be a bit extravagant to use stick on pearls as I would have needed so many lol! I did use pearls in the corners and round the 25.

Not sure if I actually like this card. I didn't like it at all but after I put the pearls and the Pearly Stuff (Woodward) on it I liked it a bit better. Not a lot, just a bit!

I haven't been very productive today. I had to work in the morning and then spent time checking out my favourite blogs in the afternoon. Then I did some food shopping and had a takeaway. By the time I sat down again it was after 7pm and Mr Blogger has been a bit twisted about uploading my photos to this post. Anyway here it is and if I am too late for Die Cut Dreams it is my own fault LOL!

Enjoy the rest of your weekend and I'm happy to hear what you think of this card good or bad.

Friday!

Good morning girls - now that Mr Blogger has stopped being a pain! First of all I just want to show you a sympathy card I made for one of my elderly customers who has just lost her hysband. Kath was showing us some cards she had made with some new Hero Arts stamps she had bought from The Glitter Pot. So I had to have a look! I didn't have to buy any but of course I did lol!! Since this was for an elderly lady and her family I have kept it very simple.

I embossed a piece of Coredinations whitewash with the script folder and edged it with the same brown I used to stamp the sentiment. I added some pink to the other side of the card....I know it would have been simpler if I had used pink card! I added a piece of white edged with the MS scalloped lace punch and layered the sentiment on top. The flowers were coloured with Promarkers. The sentiment was also edged with a brown memento ink pad.

The next card is one I made following the sketch from the Penny Black Saturday Challenge. Isn't this a cute stamp from Penny Black?
I did this close-up to show that I have embossing on my card for the Whimsy Challenge. I realise now I could have entered the previous card as it has more obvious embossing on it lol!

Can you see my embossing?

The other challenges I am entering are:-
Die Cut Dreams - Winter Wonderland.
Passion for Promarkers -Poppy and Forest Green. (Well how could I resist a challenge when one of the colours is Poppy?)
DP - Bo Bunny Tis the Season.
Nesties, Promarkers, EK Success punches, stickles and DecoArt Snow Writer. Brads from stash.
Since Mr Blogger was being a bit unhelpful earlier this morning I need to go and check out the Totally Gorjuss blog as we are due to post our second challenge today. I hope some of you will want to join us again this week.

I should be back later with my DT card!

I'm needing to make a few baby cards so the Die Cut Dreams challenge seemed ideal. The cute little charm has not photographed very well but it is a little teddy bear....sweet! I love this sweet image from Whiff of Joy, it is one of my favourite stamps for baby cards.

DP - DCWV Nana's nursery -baby boy -this one is lovely and glittery.

Flowers - Heidi Grace. Flowers are a favourite embellishment along with ribbon.

Image - Whiff of Joy.

From stash - card, buttons, ribbon, charm, brad and spacer.

Colouring - Promarkers.

Stitching - mini sewing machine.

Challenges:-

Cupcake Craft Challenge - Buttons and stitching.

Whimsy - Punchy.

Whiff of Joy - Image and die cut.

Paperplay - Favourite embellishments.
Stamp Something - Bling (DP and ribbon are both glittery).

If the Shoe Fits Scrap It - Bling it.

Hopefully I have complied with all these challenges! Must go now and enter them before I forget lol!!
Might be back later with some mini candy.

Ten Challenges

Good morning girls and what a lovely morning it is. I have been a good girl today, I have hoovered and dusted and watered plants before I finished this card. I didn't get it finished yesterday before I went out for the evening because I managed to cut my finger while I was making tea. I really did have a clumsy day yesterday lol!!
Anyway I am hoping that this card fits no fewer than 10 challenges. I think I have gone a bit over the top with this one lol!! We are going to visit our daughter tomorrow and I am going to a Stampin Up party this evening so I need to think ahead.
I made this card using the lovely sketch from Sketch Saturday. I watercoloured this cute image from Penny Black. My DP is from Basic grey and I embossed the plain pink with my Cuttlebug swiss dots folder. I used a punch to cut out the little hearts and the tag is from a punch too. The ribbon and eyelets are from my stash. I couldn't find a suitable stamp to fit the theme (and the tag) so I used some black peeloffs - knew they would come in useful eventually!

The challenges I hope to enter are:-

Penny Black Saturday Challenge:- Chocolate, lemon and pink.

Sketch Saturday:- Sketch.

Secret Crafter:- Animal antics.

Die Cut Dreams:- Ribbon and trims.

Pile it on:- Let them eat cake.

Whimsy:- Eyelets.

The Pink Elephant:- Dots, punch, tag.

Creative Inspirations Wednesday Challenge:- Letters/numbers.

Cute Card Thursday:-First birthday.

ABC:- E for embossing.

Wow I'm tired just listing them LOL!! You probably all think I'm nuts now but some of these are challenges I always try to enter and some are ones I enter sometimes if I fancy them so I saw them while I was browsing blogs. Just humour me......!

I'm off now to be a good girl and clean the bathroom, make the tea, have my lunch and go to work.

Not sure how I am going to cope with no internet for a couple of days but I dare say Poppy will keep me busy. She is turning into a real little chatterbox now and always busy. Her mum starts her maternity leave on Tuesday so I think she is not going to have a quiet time before the baby comes lol!!

I'll maybe get a chance to check out some blogs later if I'm not home too late. Have a nice weekend girls, I'm hoping to check out Stampaholics in Perth on my way to Crieff tomorrow. I've heard that it's a really good shop.

Die Cut Dreams DT Call.

Die Cut Dreams challenge blog are having a DT call. They are looking for two people to join their team. The call is open until midnight on Friday 25th September and the new team will be announced on Sunday evening 27th September. You have to make a "pink" card or project and post it on your blog with a link to Die Cut Dreams challenge blog and then leave a comment over on Die Cut Dreams with a link to your work. If you go over to http://diecutdreams.blogspot.com/you can read all the details of what is involved.

As you can see from the fact that the DT call ends tomorrow I was not sure about trying for the DT. But hey nothing to lose and I do like pink lol! I did think about trying it last week but with pressure of work I just didn't have the time. So I have been faffing about all morning trying to get it done.

I used the lovely sketch from http://fridaysketchersblog.blogspot.com/ and DP from DCWV. I used Promarkers, including some of the new ones, to colour this lovely Christmas Manga fairy from Sugar Nellies. Isn't she cute? I used my Martha Stewart embossed snowflake edge punch on some of the DP. I sewed round the edges of the rest of the DP. I went over the fairy's wing and the star on her wand with a Sakura clear glitter gel pen. The snowflakes were cut out using a Sizzix die for the larger one and a punch for the other two and then I edged them with a Promarker pen to match the fairy and put them in place with raised glue dots. Since they are cut out from white glitter card they have turned out a different colour!!I finished off with some brads and ribbon from my stash.

I love this fairy, she is so easy to colour. I'm not really one for using fairies a lot but this one is sweet without being too sickly! Hope you like my card and wish me luck with the DT call. I'm not that hopeful but maybe one day I will be lucky enogh to join a DT, you never know.

I'm off now to see what I can do before it is time to feed and walk the dogs and finish making our tea. It's been lovely here, hope it's been nice where you are.

Some Challenges.

I used the great sketch from Mojo Monday and watercoloured this cute House Mouse image to make this card. The DPs are anonymous! I really have no idea what they are!! The main dark brown one actually has some random flowers on it. I stitched round it and the plain brown ones which had been put through the cuttlebug in the swiss dots folder. Then I distressed round the edges and the dots and rubbed over them with orange chalk. Everything was matted onto the same orange card as the base card. I used my Martha Stewart heart edge punch to edge the lower piece of DP. The spotted ribbon, flowers, jewels and brad are from my stash.

The challenges I am entering are:-

Mojo Monday 103:- Sketch.
House Mouse Monday Challenge:- Song title/lyrics "Love me do"
Die Cut Dreams:- Chocolate and orange.
Whimsy:- Sewing.

I love House Mouse they are such cute stamps. I was struggling to find a song title or lyrics in the ones I have. Most of them are Christmas stamps and I think only one features a Rudolph type, then I found this one and another which seemed a bit big for a card this size!! In real life this card is quite a nice colour, a bit more colourful than the picture implies.

Enjoy the rest of the weekend. Unfortunately when the weekend is over I have to work full-time next week. For the last time though because I think my colleague will have had all her days. I've got four sets of Saturdays and Mondays still to take and possibly more days when my daughter has her baby. A friend text me and asked if I wanted to go to a crop later this month. Naturally I would lol! I thought I could go on the Saturday afternoon after work but by great good luck I am off that day and so is another friend so we can both go all day - fantastic!!

See you tomorrow.
