Even the little dog's singing!

Actually I suspect it's howling rather than singing. As you can see I'm really into Christmas cards at the moment. I've been a bit lazy and used a lovely LOTV topper to make this card.

I used :-
DP :- Basic Grey.
Sentiment :- Hero Arts.
Candi :- Craftwork Cards.
Distress Ink :- edge of DP.
Lace, ribbon, Glamour Dust and Sakura glitter gel pen.

I'm entering the following challenges :-
Basic Grey :- Ribbon and lace.
Crafty Hazelnut :- All wrapped up.
Bunny Zoe :- Distressing.

I managed to make a couple of simple cards yesterday so I think that's 38 Christmas cards I've made now. I am making a conscious effort to make some every week now so that I don't have to make lots at the last minute! Well that's the theory anyway!!

Thanks for looking and I'm going to try to catch up this afternoon as I've got a busy week ahead. On Monday evening our WRI quiz team, including me, is taking part in a quiz night for all the WRIs in Aberdeenshire. It's usually an enjoyable evening. Then on Tuesday we are going to a quiz night at one of the WRIs in our local group. On Thursday morning I have a check up at the dentist and I'm out at night. Unfortunately I also have to work as well most days!

Good morning everyone, doesn't time pass really quickly. Not only is it Saturday again but it's time for another crop. I can't believe it's 4 weeks since the last one.

This week at Totally Gorjuss our challenge is pink and green. Isn't that a lovely colour combo? We're sponsored by Crafter's Companion this week and they've got lots of lovely new goodies! So what are you waiting for, you could win a voucher to spend in their online store.

I used my favourite snowman.

Image :- Penny Black.
DP :- Basic Grey.
Colouring :- Promarkers.
Sentiment :- Craftwork Cards.
Circle heart Nestie, Martha Stewart snowflake punch, gem, Distress Ink and Glamour Dust.

I'm entering the following challenges :-
Basic Grey :- Punch it.
Christmas Challenges with Sketches :- Sketch.

Thanks for looking. I'll catch up after the crop, I'm hoping to get some more Christmas cards organised. Well if we don't do too much chatting!

My Favourite Poppy Image.

Did you see Brenda's little challenge to make a poppy related card. It could be either a poppy image or use the lovely colour of poppies.

Well anyone who knows me knows that I love poppies so I couldn't resist entering. I know they're an unconventional colour but it is my favourite colour. And of course my favourite poppy stamp. I made this card for my friend who's having a birthday next week. I know she loves this image too and it's safe to show you this card as she doesn't blog.

I used :-
Image :- Hero Arts.
Sentiment :- LOTV.
DP :- Paper Adventures (I think!)
Butterflies :- Martha Stewart.
Colouring :- Promarkers.
Coloured pearls & gems :- Basic Grey.
Embossing :- M-Bossabilities from Spellbinders.
Viva pearl pen on embossing.
Glamour Dust, ribbon and Sakura glitter gel pen (on butterflies).

Wonderful picture isn't it - not! I should have taken it from a different angle instead of showing the sticky pads under the sentiment lol!

I'm also entering the following challenges :-
Basic Grey :- Things with wings.
Sir Stampalot :- What's your crafty passion? Hero Arts stamps, Glamour Dust, dry embossing, Promarkers and bling.

Hopefully this will appear on Sunday morning if I get my scheduling right! I've even got another card ready to post. I started to make a card for the Less is More challenge for last week which was sewing. The other day I coloured my image, laid out all the bits and pieces I needed but didn't put it together. It was only later I realised that what I was making wasn't a CAS card. You'll see what I mean when I show you the card tomorrow.

Enjoy what's left of the weekend.

Vroom, Vroom!!

Me again and definitely a lot later than I meant to be posting this card. Especially since it's been made since Friday. I got distracted ordering Easiyo mixes at Lakeland.

So here's my latest card.

I used :-
Image :- Penny Black.
Sentiment and Card Candi :- Craftwork Cards.
Letters and number 6 :- Sizzix.
DP :- Basic Grey.
Distress Ink and Kraft.

I'm entering the following challenges :-
Papertake Weekly :- Sketch.
Oldie But a Goodie :- Summer Holidays.
Crafting When We Can :- Summer Fun.

The doggie has his case in the back so I think he's off to have fun on his Summer Holidays! Here in Scotland the children are on holiday now for seven weeks. The teachers are delighted and some of the Mums a bit less so. Not sure how the teacher mums feel lol!

I think some of you can probably guess who this card is for. That's right, Kath's gorgeous Retriever, Buddy. I'm a wee bit late so I hope Buddy doesn't see this before he gets it lol!

Thanks for looking and I'm hoping to be less busy and more productive next week!

By the way I hope the candy winners have checked the post below to see who won.

Penny Black 161 Starburst.

Hi everyone, just a quick post with yet another Christmas card. Before I forget there's still time to enter the challenge and blog hop over at House Mouse and Friends. I have candy and you can find my post with my GDT card and details of it here.

I used :-
Image :- Penny Black.
Sentiment and card candi :- Craftwork Cards.
DP :- Basic Grey - Jovial.
Martha Stewart punches, small star punch, Cuttlebug Swiss Dots folder, nesties, gems and Glamour Dust.

I'm entering the following challenges with this card :-
Penny Black :- Starburst.
Basic Grey :- Sketch and DP.
Passion for Promarkers :- Animal Antics.

I think that's all for now. I took my car for it's MOT this morning and haven't done anything useful yet! We have an excellent small garage about 2 miles away and my husband phoned the other day and was told just to bring it in at 9am and they would do it while I waited. ok for him but a wasted hour or so for me and since it was raining when I came back I haven't hung out my washing and I need to go to work in a couple of hours! Best try to do some housework though.

Catch up with you all later, I hope. At the moment I don't seem to get much done except keeping up with my DT and GDT visits.

Thanks for looking.

Totally Gorjuss - 89 - One for the Boys.

Good morning everyone and welcome to the weekend. This week at Totally Gorjuss our theme is "One for the boys." We'd like you to make a male card. Yes I know everyone's least favourite kind of card to make.

I had to work yesterday afternoon to let my colleague take her Mum to a hospital appointment. Not a problem she would do Friday afternoon for me. But....and there's always a but isn't there! Someone coming along our back road this morning decided to stop her car when she saw me with the dogs. Big mistake!!! I was dragged across the road and then when she moved off again somehow I ended up on the ground and the dogs were off. I should explain that the dogs are 2 very large 10 month old Labrador dogs - they weigh near enough 40kg each. If she hadn't been stupid enough to stop the dogs would have just watched the car go past, ok they would have pulled a bit but I would have been able to hold onto them. I've never lost hold of their leads before and it wasn't nice. So now I've got a round bit of skin off one pinkie, a grazed arm and a very sore foot and ankle. I managed to hang out my washing, hoover, dust and clean bathrooms as usual but when I went to take them out at lunchtime I could hardly walk. I'm a lot better now but still a bit sore. Hope I can drive tomorrow to work and then to a crop.

But enough about my problems. The theme this week is ideal for me as I needed a card for my 16 year old nephew. One of the problems is trying to remember what card you made last year! And Lachlan is the youngest of my niece's 3 boys. I decided to use one of the Mikey digi images from Charmed Cards and Crafts. I couldn't concentrate very well so I decided to use a coloured image.

I used :-
Image :- Mikey digi image from Charmed Cards & Crafts.
DP :- Basic Grey Oliver.
Card Candi & Sentiment :- Craftwork Cards.
Ribbon from stash.

I'm also entering the following challenges :-
Simon Says Stamp :- Anything Goes.
Crafty Creations :- Boys to Men.
Cute Card Thursday :- Going Round in Circles.
Creative Inspirations Wednesday Challenge :- No Flowers Allowed.
Pink Gem :- Let's Hear it for the Boys.

I think that's me for now. Oops nearly forgot to tell you that we're sponsored by Simon Says Stamp so I hope you can join us especially when you can win something from their lovely store. There are so many goodies in stock that you'll really be spoiled for choice. And don't forget to pop over to Totally Gorjuss to see what my talented teamies have made to inspire you this week.

Thanks for looking and I'll catch up with you all later. I think I'll put the harnesses on the boys this morning and not just their leads lol!!

Cheerful Get Well Card!

Well I think it is lol! I made this card for my friend's husband who has just had a wee operation. I meant to have made it in time to give it to her for him when we went to the car treasure hunt on Friday. Didn't happen! I've posted it now so I hope I can remember what I used.

I 3D'd the little mice but I don't know if you can see that on the second pic. I even threaded the buttons which was not a lot of fun as they're so small but I was scared in case Kath saw naked buttons on my blog lol!

I used :-
Image :- Penny Black.
Sentiment :- Hero Arts.
DP :- Basic Grey - White Paper.
Card Candy :- Craftwork Cards.
Stampin' Up! punch, buttons from stash, faux stitching with American Crafts pen.

I'm entering the following challenges :-
Penny Black :- Pesky Critters!
Cupcake :- Sketch.
Secret Crafter :- Something from around the house - typewriter.
Creative Inspirations challenge :- Stitching.
Cards for Men :- Stars.

I'm not really very impressed with this card. I think I thought too much about it and it looked better in my head! Sometimes I get on better when I haven't much time.

I'm off to enter these challenges and then see if I can get some DT work done.

Thanks for looking and feel free to tell me what you think. You can be honest with me, I promise I won't cry!

Lots of Flowers.

Hi everyone, and isn't it a lovely day for a wedding. At least it is here in Aberdeenshire, so I hope it is where you are too. I've been watching "the wedding" and isn't Kate a beautiful bride? Her dress is stunning and suits her perfectly.

I managed to make my DT card yesterday. Always a relief to get it finished and posted on the DT blog in time. Then I had time to make another one. Just simple and quick but using my favourite colour - lilac.

I used :-
Image :- Stampin' Up.
DP :- Basic Grey.
Colouring :- Promarkers.
Flowers, card candy and pearls.

I'm entering the following challenges with this card :-
Simply Stampin :- Sketch and of course a Stampin' Up image.
Fussy and Fancy :-Springtime - I think my DP and flowers are very Springlike so I hope that's ok.

Well I need to go and get some lunch now and take my dogs for a walk. Enjoy your day everyone.

Edited to add :- Guess what silly person only realised about 8pm that she hadn't entered the Simply Stampin challenge which closes at 6pm?!!

Some Easter Cards.

Hi everyone seems like ages since I posted! Just when you think things are getting better!!!! My colleague phoned me on Tuesday morning as she couldn't work. She had a cold recently and thought it had cleared up but back it came on Monday with a vengeance. Unluckily for me I had developed a cold too (thanks hubby!). But I wasn't as bad as her. So poor me nothing but work and no time to craft. To be honest I didn't feel like making anything on Monday evening but on Tuesday I knew I had to get Easter cards made for Poppy & Oliver.

Pretty in Pink.

Hi everyone. As an escape after the boredom of work I couldn't resist making a card to enter some challenges.

I used :-
Image :- Penny Black.
DP :- Basic Grey.
Colouring :- Distress Inks.
Sentiment :- Craftwork Cards.
Flowers :- Prima.
Pearls :- Hobby House.
Lace :- Ribbon Girl.

The challenges I'd like to enter are :-
Penny Black :- Lace and Pearls.
Basic Grey :- Sketch and DP.
Ribbon Girls :- Cream, pink and brown.
ABC :- P is for Pink.
Penny Black at Allsorts :- Welcome Spring. (Thanks Brenda)

It's a gorgeous image isn't it but I haven't done much colouring with Distress Inks so I don't think I've done it justice. I think I need more practice.

Tomorrow I have to work a full day and next week things will be back to normal. We've had a week of lovely weather. Some days warmer than others! I've got my fingers crossed that tomorrow is nice as that's the day my colleagues daughter gets married. I'm looking forward to seeing their photos! The only snag is that I'm off to the craft show at the SECC on Sunday and as we leave about 6.30am and get home about 9pm it's a long day. I usually look forward to a day off on the Monday but this time I'll be working. Poor me!! Roll on my day off next Thursday.

And just a wee update about Oliver - he's got the chickenpox now! Catriona sent me a text at work this morning so I posted his Get Well card and chocolate buttons this afternoon.

Apologies for being a bad blogger and not managing to visit many of you this week. I'll try harder next week!

Thanks for looking and hope you like. If you've got time to leave a comment I'd love to hear what you think.

Crafty Cardmakers 31 Anything But a Square.

Doesn't time fly. Monday already and time for another challenge at Crafty Cardmakers. This time we would like your card to be anything but a square.

I decided to use my larges nesties to make a circular card. I'm still keen on making Christmas cards so here's another one. I work in the Post Office inside the village shop and there are about five teenagers who work after school and at the weekend so a little card like this is ideal for them

These little diddy cards are not actually any quicker to make than a normal size card as they can be quite fiddly and you have to make sure you use patterns  and images that are not too big!

I used :-
Image :- Penny Black.
DP :- Basic Grey.
Sentiment :- Craftwork Cards.
Colouring :- Promarkers.
Nesties, stickles, Glamour Dust and ribbon.

I followed the sketch from Mojo Monday so I will be entering that challenge. And I see that the challenge over at Penny Black is "don't be square" so I'll enter there too.

I'm working full time all this week as my colleague is on holiday so I hope I can keep up with visiting your blogs to see what you've been making. My teamies have lovely cards on their blogs so please try to pop over and see what they've made to inspire you.

Just Cute Bears 29 Bear and Me.

Hello everyone, today is a very special day for me. It's my elder daughter's birthday today. I won't say what age she is because that would make me look bad lol!!

It's also time for another challenge over at Just Cute Bears. This week our theme is "Bear and Me." We'd like to see someone else as well as a bear. We are lucky to be sponsored by Whiff of Joy. and the prize this week is Bruno with Cupcake. Isn't he cute?

And here's my card. I've had this stamp for ages and I've been dying to use it. Usually the bear is the main focus of our challenge so I've never used it for our challenges but I thought it would be perfect for this week's theme.

I used :-

Image :- Beary Big Hugs from Belles 'n Whistles.

DP :- Basic Grey and Craft Creations.

Doily from Joanna Sheen.

Sentiment :- Craftwork Cards.

Pearls :- Hobby House.

Flowers :- EK Success punches.

Colouring:- Promarkers and Distress Ink.

I'm also hoping to enter a few challenges :-

Teddy Stampers :- Use different shapes.

Cute Card Thursday :- Whateva.

Sketch Saturday :- Sketch.

Die Cut Dreams :- Use gingham.

That's it then girls. Thanks to everyone who joined us last week and I enjoyed visiting your blogs and looking at your lovely projects. I hope you can join us again this week, I'm looking forward to popping over to your blogs to see your new cards.

Enjoy what's left of the weekend.

Summer Days!

Well girls I don't know how some of you manage to work full-time and find time to craft. This is my 3rd day of it and still 9 days to go! I really don't like it but since I don't have a choice I'll just have to put up with it! At least Wednesday is a half day in the Post Office so I had some time to make a card this afternoon. Well I did when I eventually managed to get out of the shop. Just before I finished it started raining really heavily! Even though my car was only a few yards away I definitely didn't fancy going out in it!

I'm really glad to get something made at last. I should probably have done my DT cards but I just wanted to enter the first Penny Black at Allsorts challenge which is a burst of Summer colour.

I think it looks quite Summery, it's certainly nice and bright lol!

I'm also entering these other challenges :-
Bunny Zoe's Crafts :- Summer days.
Friday Sketchers :- Sketch.
Basic Grey :- Stitching.
Crafty Creations :- Summer Lovin'.

I used :-
Image :- Penny Black.
DP :- Basic Grey.
Colouring :- Promarkers andDistress Inks plus precision pen for faux stitching.

Sakure clear glitter gel pen for butterflies.

Now I think I should make a start on some of my DT work.

Crafty Cardmakers 25 - Easel Card.

Is the weekend really over already? It always seems to pass so quickly doesn't it? Still if it's Monday it must be time for my first DT card for the Crafty Cardmakers challenge. This is challenge 25 part 2. This week is spotlight week and this time it is easel cards in the spotlight.

I wanted to make a different shape from the usual square. Nothing wrong with a square because a square easel card looks quite impressive. I just wanted to make something different. Silly me! I've made an easel card using nesties but even the biggest nestie doesn't make a very big card. So I decided to make a hexagonal card. But this is not as easy as it sounds!! I won't bore you by telling you how long it took me to draw a "perfect" hexagon. I'll only say that I'm very picky about thinks looking right lol! Those of you who remember doing maths at school will know that you can easily draw a hexagon by drawing a circle first and then using your compass to mark six point on the circle etc. I would have got on better if my compass had not been rubbish and kept moving. Eventually I managed to draw a template for the card and another slightly smaller for the DP.

I used the template to cut out the card by placing it against a fold and drawing round it and cutting it out. I made/a> another hexagon for the front of the card. Then I used the sketch from Crafty Creations to decorate the card.

I used:-
Image :- Forever Friends.
DP :- Basic Grey Kioshi.
Colouring :- Promarkers for image and Distress Inks for edges, card candy and large heart on base.
Sentiment and card candy :- Craftwork Cards.
Lace :- Quixotic Paperie.
Stickles, buttons and string.
All the edges are inked with Bundled Sage Distress Ink plus the large punched heart on the base and the card candy. The edge of the heart is also stickled.
I hope you like my card and please let me know what you think of it if you have time. Please also pop over to my talented teamies blogs and see what gorgeous easel cards they have made. Easel cards are really easy to make and they always look impressive. If you're not sure how to make one pop over to the Crafty Cardmakers blog where there is a very clear tutorial on how to make an easel card.
Looking forward to seeing all your easel cards. I've enjoyed looking at the cards you've made for the first challenge using the photo for inspiration.

Totally Gorjuss 39 - Thinking of You.

Time for another challenge at Totally Gorjuss. Thanks to everyone who entered last week. We had some amazing entries for our water, water challenge last week. I hope you'll want to enter our challenge this week.

This week our challenge is "Thinking of You." This can interpreted as a Sympathy card or just a card to let someone know you are just thinking of them.

I used :-
Image:- Penny Black from the flowers and wishes clear set.
Sentiment :- Hero Arts.
DP :- Basic Grey and Wild Rose Studio.
Colouring :- Promarkers and Distress Inks.
Card Candy :- Craftwork Cards.
Pearls :- Hobby House.
Martha Stewart butterfly punch.
I'm entering a few challenges with this card:-
Basic Grey :- Gingham.
Charisma :- Pink.
Colour Create:- Warm pink, chocolate brown and white.
Paperplay :- Sketch.
Creative Inspirations challenge blog :- something old from stash - I've had the pink, white and brown Basic Grey DP for a while.
What do you think girls? Is it suitable for a Sympathy card? I think it's also light enough to be just a card to get in touch with a friend. It's a useful sort of card to have around as a just in case card. I hope you'll want to join in with us again this week. I'm looking forward to seeing your new creations. If you've got time to leave me a comment I'd be really pleased. I'm always encouraged by what you have to say about my efforts and I'm sure my talented teamies would be pleased to hear from you too.

Enjoy your weekend, hope it's good whatever you do.

Penny Black meets Simply Create.

I'm not really at the last minute for the Penny Black challenge LOL! I had a card made last night but left it till today in the hope of getting a better photo. But the weather was against me. It was dull and dismal, then by the time I took the dog out it was really nice. By the time I hung up my washing it was dull again. Then it rained. When I went to work it was still not very nice. During the afternoon it turned really nice and it's still bright now! Unfortunately I ran out of time to post this before work. I knew it was a mistake to do all that housework!

Enough waffle though. I loved using that sketch over at the Penny Black challenge that I made another very similar card. Jacqui at Simply Create at Alford (not my local craft shop but not too far away) is looking for red and white cards to sell for Save the Children and she is offering a prize of £50 to spend in her shop. If you can't get there she will post £50 of goodies to you. 4th September is a special day at her shop and I've arranged a day off so I can go!

This is my card for the challenge over at Penny Black. I stamped the image twice and 3D'd the flower and the bud. I also added some black stickles for some dimension too.

And this is a very similar one as I had another image stamped and it was nice and quick to make another one.

I used:-
Image:- Penny Black from clear set flowers and wishes.
DP :- Basic Grey basics white.
Sentiment and card candy :- Craftwork Cards.
Colouring :- Promarkers and Distress Inks.
Martha Stewart edge punch.
Ribbon, string, flowers, pearls and button from stash.
I'm off to enter the challenge now and do my DT commenting and schedule some posts. And then I need to decide what I'm doing tomorrow at a crop at my local craft shop.
Enjoy the weekend, hope the weather improves!

Totally Gorjuss 38 - Water, Water.

Good morning everyone and it's time for another challenge over at Totally Gorjuss. This week our challenge is "water, water." We'd like to see water in one form or another on your card.

I have to admit I did struggle a bit here. I couldn't think what image I had that had water on it. Then I remembered I had a Hobby Art Bear in a bath or this Penny Black cat in a bath. I love this image, I think the cat looks as if she's enjoying her bath and does that look like pink champagne (or maybe just rose wine)?

I was running a bit late hence just a simple card. I wasted a lot of time this morning......when I should have been doing housework....trying to draw a hexagon. Not for this I hasten to add but all will be revealed soon lol!

I used :-

Image :- Penny Black.

DP :- Basic Grey Kioshi.

Senitment and card candy :- Craftwork Cards.

Nesties and stickles, flowers and jewels from stash.

I'm also entering the Sketch and Stash challenge. My new unused stash is this lovely Penny Black image. I just love the expression on that cat's face and I think the mouse looks pretty happy too lol!
Hope you like and I'm looking forward to seeing how you interpret our challenge this week. If you have time I'd love to hear what you think of my little card. And please try to pop over to my talented teamies blogs to see what they've made this week. We have to new GDTs this week who are both very talented ladies and I'm sure you'll love what they've done too.

By the way did you notice my new watermark? I bought it from Whimsy Stamps. Vicky gave the link on her blog recently and I had been wanting to have a watermark so I couldn't resist checking it out. It's quite easy to use after you have done it once. It's just a matter of remembering to add it to your photos! I bought a signature too and it's even easier to use. If I can do it anyone can lol
