Totally Gorjuss 193 Fur-tastic.

Good morning everyone. How are you all enjoying this beautiful weather. I have to work most days so I haven't seen much of it except when I'm walking the dogs. One of them doesn't mind it too much but the other one is like a wet rag. He just spends his time lying on a cold floor!

to
This week at Totally Gorjuss we would like you to make a "Fur-tastic" card. That's right we'd like to see a furry animal (or more).

I used :-
Image :- House Mouse.

I'm scheduling this post so I think I'm going to quit while I'm ahead here!

Thanks for looking and I'll catch you all later.

Why did I start this........?

I often think that! I used to give my great nieces and nephews and latterly my grandkids too a book token every Christmas. Now most of my nieces and nephews have reached 18 and don't get a Christmas present any more. Only one is under 18 so I decided to make a gift card holder to put his money in. Not a book token any more as I realise he would probably prefer to put the money to something else! So then I thought I might as well make some for Poppy and Oliver too. The next thought was what to decorate the front with after all a 17 year old boy probably doesn't want a snowman or a santa! So here's what I made.

This one is for Lachlan. Hope a snowflake is not too yuk for a teenager. I took the photo last night and I think it looks a bit blurry but I can't get a better photo as I posted it with their Christmas card this morning!

This one's for Poppy and it was definitely blurry so I took another photo.

This is Oliver's gift card and my second attempt at a photo.

I used :-
Flourish :- Corner from Sizzix.
Snowflake :- Papermania.
Images :- House Mouse.
Colouring :- Promarkers.
Happy Christmas and To-, From- both inside - Hero Arts.
Glamour Dust, silver and gold embossing powders and ribbon.

I should have taken a pic of the inside but I'm now a little short of time! I'm going out for a Christmas meal with the Guild tonight and I'm picking up my first passenger at 6pm. Our meal is booked for 7pm as some of our members are elderly. I usually take my neighbour but she's the lady who broke her hip a couple of weeks ago. She's now convalescing locally and seems to be doing well. Someone told me you only get two weeks there. Not sure if it's like a nursing home or a cottage hospital but I'm told it's really nice. Apparently she's determined to come home after that. She's very independent. Her son lives next door but he's a busy farmer. I'm sure she wants to have her family from children to great grandchildren for Christmas! Quite a crowd now. Her son looks after the turkey and the girls do the rest but quite an upheaval. But it's what she likes so they'll probably have to agree!

I went to look for a Christmas stocking for Oliver today. Poppy has always had one but Oliver has just had a gift bag. The ones at the garden centre at Inverurie were only £1.25 and really poor quality so I didn't bother. We would have looked in the town but hubby resented having to pay to park for a few minutes so we ended up coming home. I expect I could make one if I had some felt or material.

I ordered bike helmets for them last night after Catriona told me what website to look at. I sent a text to ask which one to get for Poppy and she replied "Poppy says" and she wants the one I had chosen for her already. So who's a clever Gran then? For some reason she wouldn't stay in her bed last night. Not like her at all. Oliver's had a cold so he's been asking to go to bed about 6pm. I expect they'll get a bit high the nearer we get to Christmas.

Not done much with my day off today but at least I've got my cards posted. Some handed out yesterday and some to hand out tonight. I'll take the rest to work tomorrow and hand them out to the rest of the staff and customers and friends who live in the village.

Not sure if I'll be too late to catch up later so maybe I'll try to do some visiting just now before I get ready to go out.

Help......how do you stop?!!!!

Hi everyone, me again. I liked the card I did for Less is More last week so I thought I'd try another one along the same lines. I love this image, it's a really fun one. I can't resist House Mouse but I love the Gruffies too. I think I'm liking this kind of quick card!

I used :-
Image :- House Mouse - Gruffies.
Colouring :- Promarkers.
Sentiment :- Hero Arts.

I'm entering the following challenges :-
House Mouse :- Double Trouble.
Winter Wonderland :- Winter Sports
Craft Your Days Away :- Anything Goes.
Gem of a Challenge :- Animals or Teddies. Not sure if this fits?

I only managed to visit one church yesterday to see the flowers. I went to my own church and cleverly as it turned out went for my soup and sweet first in case it was so busy the food ran out! It was busy and someone said people had been coming in to see the flowers since about 10am. The floral displays were absolutely stunning. The ladies who did them are very talented. According to reports the flowers in the other churches were beautiful too. I met my neighbour who was there with friends and they'd been out and about since just after 10am and by 1pm or so they'd only managed 2 of the churches! My daughter was out from Aberdeen to have her hair cut so we went shopping so unless I can find someone who wants to see the flowers I'll have to miss the other two churches.

Thanks for looking and I'll try to catch up later. I'll need to do my ironing as usual. Then I've got two weeks full time work in front of me. Oh joy! I think it's going to be a long two weeks. Think I'll take my iPad with me and then I can at least catch up with all my favourite blogs and any DT commenting I need to do. My only problem is that by the time I get home I've usually just about lost the will to live. Not exactly conducive to crafting. But maybe I'm just being pessimistic and I'll actually manage to make some cards.

Enjoy what's left of the weekend.

Ho! Ho! Ho!

Yes you've guessed right, another Christmas card! I can never resist this cute little House Mouse image so when I saw the challenge at Less is More this week was fur or feathers I knew this image was just perfect. And since it's a one layer week too this was a really quick card.

I used :-
Image :- House Mouse.
Colouring :- Promarkers.
Sentiment :- Hero Arts.
Glamour Dust.

I'm also entering this card over at Simon says Stamp :- Animal antics.

It's a horrible day here today, just pouring! I had two very wet dogs this morning not to mention a very wet me!! I've been a good girl and done most of my housework already so now I'm off to finish my hoovering and have my lunch. This is my last day of partial freedom as my colleague is on holiday from this afternoon for two weeks. Sob! The worst part of working full time is that I get all the quiet times instead of just the quiet times I usually get. I think I might take my iPad with me and then at least I can keep up with commenting and checking out my favourite blogs.

Thanks for looking and I'll catch up with you all this evening.

A Stitch in Time!

As I said yesterday I coloured this image meaning to make a card for the Less is More challenge. But as you can see it didn't end up being a CAS card! I don't think it's over-embellished but definitely too much to be called CAS.

I was sure I had a PB image on a sewing theme but it was too big a stamp so then I remembered this sweet House Mouse image.

I went to upload this and realised I hadn't even photographed the card! We went to get parts for my husband's razor and new work jeans today and just after we got back my daughter arrived and has not long left. You don't get much done when she's around lol!

I used :-
Image :- House Mouse.
Colouring :- Promarkers.
DP :- First Edition.
Sentiment :- LOTV.
Pearls and gems :- Hobby House.
Ribbon and doiley from stash.

I'm entering the following challenges :-
Joanna Sheen :- Animal Crackers.
ABC :- T for two - 2 cute mousies!
Pile it on :- Cute as can be.

Well it's really late on Sunday evening now as I'm scheduling this and hoping that Mr Blogger will be kind and post it on Monday morning. Then I can catch up with you all in the evening after work.

Thanks for looking and for your kind comments about my efforts.

Totally Gorjuss 136 - Holiday.

Good morning everyone and I hope you are in the mood to think about holidays since that is our theme this week at Totally Gorjuss. I started writing this on Thursday night as my WRI had a car treasure hunt last night. I knew I should have written it earlier in the week as I've had the card made since last Sunday. I had my post almost written when most of it disappeared. Not sure whether to blame Mr B or my laptop or internet connection. Hopefully the scheduling will work as I'm going to a crop after work today.

It's been a busy week! We had our WRI evening outing and meal on Wednesday. On Thursday I went to a blood donor session, did some shopping and came home to bake for the treasure hunt. I was supposed to go out in the evening but it was cancelled. Probably a good thing! The problem with the treasure hunt is that I work till 5.30, home at 5.45 and the cars leave between 6.30 and 7pm. So not much time to walk the dogs and eat! Still that's our main fundraiser and it is fun. Now enough waffle, here's my card. Isn't mousie enjoying the sun on his holiday?

I used :-
Image and sentiment :- House Mouse.
DP :- First Edition.
Colouring :- Promarkers.
Gems :- Hobby House.
Butterflies :- Martha Stewart punch.
Corner ;- Whimsy.
Nesties and tag punch.

We're sponsored by Heather's Hobbie Haven so don't forget to pop over to check out what's in stock.

I'm sure I'll probably have challenges to enter but I'll have to come back later and add them.

House Mouse :- Here comes the sun.
Cute Card Thursday :- Punch Drunk.
Simon Says Stamp :- Photo Inspiration.

Enjoy your weekend everyone and thanks for looking. If you can spare a minute to tell me what you think that would be great cos then I can visit you too.

Blue for a Boy.

Isn't it nice to make a card that's not a Christmas card? Don't get me wrong I enjoyed making my Christmas cards and this year I had them made and ready to go before the last posting date for 2nd class!

I made a card for a workmate who had become a granny for the first time as I had lots of pink cards but only a couple of blue ones. I was going to give one to the proud new parents but I decided to make a tag too so I made this set.

I used :-
Image :- House Mouse.
DP :- Craft Creations.
Sentiment :- Hero Arts.
Colouring :- Promarkers.
Card Candi :- Craftwork Cards.
Glamour Dust, flower and ribbon.

I'm going to enter the following challenges :-
House Mouse :- New....
Allsorts :- New Beginnings.
By the Cute and Girly :- New Beginnings.
Papertake Weekly :- Anything Goes + New.
Sir Stampalot :- Monochromatic. Hope it's monochromatic enough!
Sketch and Stash :- Sketch.

Can't believe I've managed to post every day so far. Probably won't be able to keep it up now that I'm back to work. I'm going to get my eyes tested today so that'll be most of my day off used up but I've got some cards lined up to show you tomorrow.

Thanks for looking and if you want to tell me what you think I'd love to hear from you.

Fuzzy and Warm House Mouse.

I'm reasonably warm at the moment but only because I'm wearing a few layers and I'm looking forward to a plate (or 2) of lovely hot home-made potato soup. I made it last night so that it would taste even better re-heated today. I also made my first batch of mincemeat pies, which I love. I was actually trying to avoid sorting out my labels programme. Fingers crossed I have enough Christmas cards made now. So now I can get on with the special ones and finish the gift card holders.

Speaking of warm here is a nice cosy Christmas card.

I used :-
Image :- House Mouse.
Colouring :- Promarkers
Sentiment and Card Candi :- Craftwork Cards.
DP :- HOTP.
Martha Stewart snowflake punch, pearls and Glamour Dust.

I'm entering the following challenges :-
House Mouse :- Fuzzy and Warm.
Everybody Art :- Sketch.

I love this image, they look so cute and cosy!

Thanks for looking and enjoy what's left of the weekend.

Pink Halloween?!!!

I know, sounds weird doesn't it. A lady I know admired the cards and treat bag covers I made for Poppy & Oliver. She said you wouldn't make one for my granddaughter would you? Well of course I said I would, no problem. When I asked what she liked she said High School Musical I thought oops maybe not that. I've heard of it but I've no idea what it is. She said anything would do as long as it was pink! Ever wished you hadn't asked? Well I've done my best so I hope she likes it.

I used :-
Image :- House Mouse.
Sentiment :- Penny Black.
DP :- Craft Creations overstamped with a Penny Black image.
Colouring :- Promarkers and Spica glitter gel pens.

Not sure if she wanted a treat bag cover but I made one anyway with a piece of Bazzill, a Penny Black image,     a Martha Stewart punch and a little piece of ribbon and of course some Glamour Dust.

I'm going to enter the following challenges :-
Passion for Promarkers :- For a child.
Paperplay :- Halloween.
Stampin for the Weekend :- Spooky.

Well I'm not sure what to think about this set. What do you think? I just think Halloween says colours like black, green, orange and purple. But this is what the customer wanted. I'm sure if the little girl likes pink she'll be quite happy so that's the main thing lol.

Thanks for looking and I'll see you tomorrow with my DT card for Totally Gorjuss.

I thought I'd show you another of the cards I made the other day. I went to a crop today at my local craft shop. We have one every 4 weeks and there can be up to 11 of us but for one reason and another there were only 4 of us this time. Funnily enough we all seemed to get lots done today. We might tell the others that they're a bad influence lol! In truth we probably did as much chatting as usual. I think I was just a bit more organised than usual and I was pretty chuffed to get five Christmas cards made!

Thanks for looking and enjoy the rest of your weekend.

Birthday Boy.

Hi everyone. I don't often get asked to make a card but my boss asked me to make cards for her parents and herself and her husband to give to their great grandson/grandson. I hope they like them.
