In the Pink.

Do you like pink? You do! Well there's a new challenge starting on August 9th called In the Pink. Now as you know I love lilac and all related colours but pink comes a pretty close second.

So why don't you pop over and join them and then you just have to wait a few days to see what the first challenge is going to be.

A Stitch in Time!

As I said yesterday I coloured this image meaning to make a card for the Less is More challenge. But as you can see it didn't end up being a CAS card! I don't think it's over-embellished but definitely too much to be called CAS.

I was sure I had a PB image on a sewing theme but it was too big a stamp so then I remembered this sweet House Mouse image.

I went to upload this and realised I hadn't even photographed the card! We went to get parts for my husband's razor and new work jeans today and just after we got back my daughter arrived and has not long left. You don't get much done when she's around lol!

I used :-
Image :- House Mouse.
Colouring :- Promarkers.
DP :- First Edition.
Sentiment :- LOTV.
Pearls and gems :- Hobby House.
Ribbon and doiley from stash.

I'm entering the following challenges :-
Joanna Sheen :- Animal Crackers.
ABC :- T for two - 2 cute mousies!
Pile it on :- Cute as can be.

Well it's really late on Sunday evening now as I'm scheduling this and hoping that Mr Blogger will be kind and post it on Monday morning. Then I can catch up with you all in the evening after work.

Thanks for looking and for your kind comments about my efforts.

My Favourite Poppy Image.

Did you see Brenda's little challenge to make a poppy related card. It could be either a poppy image or use the lovely colour of poppies.

Well anyone who knows me knows that I love poppies so I couldn't resist entering. I know they're an unconventional colour but it is my favourite colour. And of course my favourite poppy stamp. I made this card for my friend who's having a birthday next week. I know she loves this image too and it's safe to show you this card as she doesn't blog.

I used :-
Image :- Hero Arts.
Sentiment :- LOTV.
DP :- Paper Adventures (I think!)
Butterflies :- Martha Stewart.
Colouring :- Promarkers.
Coloured pearls & gems :- Basic Grey.
Embossing :- M-Bossabilities from Spellbinders.
Viva pearl pen on embossing.
Glamour Dust, ribbon and Sakura glitter gel pen (on butterflies).

Wonderful picture isn't it - not! I should have taken it from a different angle instead of showing the sticky pads under the sentiment lol!

I'm also entering the following challenges :-
Basic Grey :- Things with wings.
Sir Stampalot :- What's your crafty passion? Hero Arts stamps, Glamour Dust, dry embossing, Promarkers and bling.

Hopefully this will appear on Sunday morning if I get my scheduling right! I've even got another card ready to post. I started to make a card for the Less is More challenge for last week which was sewing. The other day I coloured my image, laid out all the bits and pieces I needed but didn't put it together. It was only later I realised that what I was making wasn't a CAS card. You'll see what I mean when I show you the card tomorrow.

Enjoy what's left of the weekend.

Totally Gorjuss - 142 - Pearls.

Good morning everyone, another Saturday and another challenge over at Totally Gorjuss. We have a nice easy challenge for you this week, we'd like to see some pearls on your card or project. We have a new sponsor this week, Dillybeans Stamps and Megan has given all the DT our own choice of digi image to use on our cards. I have chosen the lovely "Snow Mamma", isn't she lovely with her little baby? Thank you very much Megan I love this image, it's so sweet. You musn't miss the cards the rest of the DT have made, they're all gorgeous.

I used :-
Colouring :- Promarkers.
Sentiment and candi :- Craftwork Cards.
DP :- First Edition.
Martha Stewart snowflake and edge punches.
Pearls, Glamour Dust and ribbon.

Hope we get some sunshine today! Yesterday was beautiful.........till about 4pm or so and then the rain came  pelting down. It was bouncing off the road.!! And I'd left my washing out. I never do that if there's even a remote chance of rain but it didn't look as if it would rain. I had to put it back in the machine for a quick wash, it was just soaking!! Then of course it came on again when I was out with the dogs. Suppose I should be used to that this summer!!

I'll catch up with you all later and have a lovely weekend whatever you've got planned.

More Christmas in July.

Well it's not been July weather so why not get on with some Christmas cards? I love this mummy snowlady with her cute little baby don't you? I think I might make some more cards with this sweet image.

I used :-
Image :- Dillybeans Stamps.
Colouring :- Promarkers
Sentiment and card candi :- Craftwork Cards.
Pearls :- Hobby House.
Snowflake :- Martha Stewart punch.
Embossing :- Cuttlebug and Craft Concepts.
Corner :- Whimsy.
Glamour Dust and ribbon.

I'm entering the following challenges :-
Crafty Hazelnut's Christmas Challenge :- Monochrome.
Crafting When We Can :- Monochrome.
Simon Says Stamp :- Anything Goes.
Charisma Cardz :- Monochrome.

I hope this fits the monochrome challenges but if not I'm happy for these challenges to delete my entry!

I've not achieved much today. I had to take the car for it's MOT today and then tax it so that ran away with a lot of my morning but at least it's done! It's been really nice today. Not completely sunny or hot but there has been sun and it's dry and warm so that's a bonus after all the rain we've had.

I'm off to see if I can get anything else done now before I need to walk the dogs and make tea. I'm off out tonight so as usual my day off has just vanished. I would so love to not have to work!! On the other hand my friend recently had a minor op and has been off work for 4 weeks. She thought she'd be off for a couple of days so she's pretty fed up now and will actually be glad to get back to work. So I suppose not working is fine as long as you're not off work due to ill health or recovering from an operation.

I'm quite looking forward to taking the dogs out now when it's nice. Makes a change from coming in with muddy boots and eight muddy paws!!

See you later if my internet connection is behaving. Sometimes it's not very good in the evening. In fact the last two evenings it's been so rubbish I could hardly get online at all!

Tiptoe through the......

tulips! As you all know I love Penny Black images and I couldn't resist this lovely cat among the tulips. It's only taken me two weeks to get a card made for the Penny Black challenge which is "Summertime." Now I can do the blog hop too. Well tonight as I'm at work all day. I love Mondays. Not!

I used :-
Image :- Penny Black.
Colouring :- Promarkers.
M-Bossabilities folder :- Spellbinders.
Pearls :- Hobby House.
Glamour Dust, gems and ribbon.

I'm also entering these challenges :-
Penny Black and More at Allsorts :- Summer Blooms.
Oldie But a Goodie :- Flower Power.

Thanks for looking and I'm looking forward to reading what you think of this card. I'll try to enter the challenges before I go to work. Monday's always a long day and by the time I get home and walk the dogs and have my tea I'll probably forget.

It rained.....!!

Yes needless to say it rained yesterday afternoon not long before the Strawberry Fayre was due to start. Bit of a shock as I don't think rain was forecast. If it had rained in the morning at least they could have switched to the church hall. But we either crammed into the minister's garage or sheltered under golf umbrellas. And for a bonus I bought some of the scones so that'll save me making some to go with my strawberry jam.

I didn't achieve much last week but here's a card I made at the crop last week.

I used :-
Image :- Penny Black.
Colouring :- Promarkers.
Sentiment :- oops can't remember!
Tag :- Spellbinders.
Snowflakes :- Martha Stewart punch.
Card Candi :- Craftwork Cards.
Embossing :- Cuttlebug folder.
Poinsettia, Glamour Dust and ribbon.

I'm entering these challenges :-
Cards for Men :- Christmas in July.
Paperplay :- Christmas in July.

Thanks for looking and enjoy the rest of your weekend.

Totally Gorjuss 141 - Leaf it in.

Good morning everyone Saturday again, what a short week!! I hope the weather is going to be kind today. The social committee from our church have organised a Strawberry Fayre in the manse garden. Last year it rained so it had to be held in the church hall. It was still a great success so fingers crossed for this afternoon. The    church and hall are out in the country a couple of miles from the village but the manse is in the village. We might get more people turning out if it is in the manse garden as they could just walk along the street rather than get in their car or get a lift. Most people will go anyway but in the village you might get people who wouldn't make the effort to go somewhere else. Does that make sense??

So here's my card for this week's challenge at Totally Gorjuss which is "Leaf it in" and you could win a voucher for $10 to spend at Heather's Hobbie Haven.

As you can see I'm not good with leaves! I should have just stuck to making a card with a cute image and adding lots of flowers and leaves.

Luckily my teamies have made some lovely cards to inspire you.

I used :-
Image :- Hero Arts.
Sentiment :- Inkylicious.
Pearls :- Hobby House.
I used 3 Paintbox inks with ink dusters to make the background.

Well fingers crossed Mr Blogger posts this at the right time this week. Last week it didn't appear and I had to post it myself. Turns out Mr Blogger had left it as a draft!!

Thanks for looking and have a lovely weekend everyone. I'm looking forward to reading what you think of my card. I've probably said before that I don't like this card or that card, well this is another in that category. I must try to do better lol!

Can't believe I've never used this stamp before!!

Isn't that awful? Why have I never inked this cute image before? Probably because I've got lots of Christmas images. Not a good excuse though but hey better late than never.

I made a couple of cards at the crop yesterday and did a lot of glittering and preparing other images for some more Christmas cards. I had a good afternoon with lots of chat and I managed to keep busy the whole afternoon. Sometimes I take too much stuff but not the right stuff and don't have enough to do. This time I got it fairly right. I even had time to have a browse round the shop. Didn't buy too much as I may be going to check out a new craft shop on Thursday if my friend's up to it. She had a minor op just over 2 weeks ago and it's taking longer to get over it than she thought.

So here's one of my cards from the crop.

I used :-
Image :- Penny Black.
Colouring :- Promarkers.
DP :- First Edition.
Sentiment :- Craftwork Cards.
Pearls, gems, Glamour Dust and ribbon.

I'm entering these challenges :-
Crafty Hazelnut :- Twinkle, twinkle little star.
Christmas Stampin All year Long :- Not inked yet.

I've not achieved much today except for doing this post, doing my DT commenting and nipping round my favourite blogs. And the washing and ironing of course. And did I mention the jam? I decided to make strawberry jam this afternoon. I've never made strawberry jam before so I didn't know if it would work or not!! Well I had to have a scone and jam a wee while ago, just to check if it was ok. Hubby said it was fine so that was a relief as his mother was a great cook, baker and of course made jam and chutney. So I'm quite pleased with it. The best of it is I rarely eat strawberry jam but this stuff is quite yummy. Success lol!

I'm off to put an insert in a Get Well card. My Sister-in-law phoned last night to tell me my 95 year old Auntie had had a heart attack and was in hospital. She's not too bad and will probably get out to the local cottage hospital in a day or two. I feel bad about not visiting her but it's a long journey. If she was really ill I wouldn't think twice about going to see her. My brother and sister-in-law live very near her so they're getting all the running around to do. My brother also sometimes takes my Uncle to visit as driving into the centre of Glasgow is a bit much for a 92 year old. Hope my Uncle didn't miss the end of the Scottish Open when he went to visit his Sister!

I'll go and add that insert now and post it to her at work tomorrow. Catch you all tomorrow.

Thanks for looking and if you have time to let me know what you think I'd be really pleased.

Totally Gorjuss - 140 - Christmas in July.

Good morning everyone, I hope Mr Blogger has been co-operative and posted this! I'm off to a crop after work today so I'll see you all later. Edited to add...no he hasn't been co-operative!! When I checked last night my post was scheduled but tonight I discovered it's only a draft. Really annoying, to say the least.

I've had Monday off as it was a local holiday, my usual half day on Wednesday and day off on Thursday and not achieved very much. In fact on Friday morning I had to make this DT card for Totally Gorjuss. Luckily I had this lovely LOTV image coloured already and I also had some embossing I'd done before when I was in the mood to emboss. So I quickly made this card and then my camera battery died!

This week we are sponsored by the lovely people at Crafters'Companion and I'm sure you'd love to win a little crafty spend at their online store.

I used :-
Image :- LOTV.
Colouring :- Promarkers.
Sentiment and Card Candi :- Craftwork Cards.
Embossing folder :- Cuttlebug.
Memory Box die, Glamour Dust, gems, Martha Stewart punch, and ribbon.

I'm entering the following challenges :-
The Pink Elephant challenge :- Christmas in July.
Crafty Creations :- Free For All.

Hope you likey, I really enjoyed making this card. My stack of Christmas cards is growing slowly so I think I'll be trying to make some more at the crop.

Thanks for looking and I'll see you all later. Enjoy your weekend whatever you've got planned

Get well soon!

Do you ever have the sort of week where you wonder where the week went and what you've achieved! Last week was that sort of week. I had a day's holiday on Monday, a half day on Wednesday and my usual day off on Thursday and what have I achieved? I blame it on the tidying up!! This morning I made my DT card for tomorrow and then my camera battery died before I could upload it!

Yesterday I made this Get Well card for one of my lovely teamies at Totally Gorjuss. In spite of her illness she's being very brave and positive and we're all rooting for her and willing her to get better. I know she loves her Maggies so I used my favourite one and used my favourite colours. Hope she likes it.

I used :-
Image :- Magnolia.
Colouring :- Promarkers.
DP :- pass! It comes from a pad I bought from Create and Craft years ago and has no name on it.
Corner :- Whimsy die.
Pearls and gems :- Hobby House.
Flowers :- Nellie Snellen punches.
Leaves :- L-Em punch.
Sentiment :- Found it already stamped so no idea!
Ribbon, Martha Stewart punch, Nesties, Glamour Dust  and Sakura clear gel pen on shoes.

I'm entering the following challenges :-
Just Magnolia :- Bingo - lilac, glitter, pearls/bling.
Just Promarkers :- Gingham/checks.

Now I need to sort out some stuff for a crop tomorrow, finish my DT commenting and schedule my post for tomorrow.

Thanks for looking and have a lovely weekend, not too wet I hope. After a mostly dry but miserable looking day it's a nice evening now. Why!!

Simple Baby Cards.

I made some very simple baby cards at the weekend. A few weeks ago my friend made a baby card using the same lovely Cuttlebug embossing folder. Her's was cream and gold and really lovely. I felt that white was better when using pink or blue. I just stamped "congratulations" in the appropriate colour, added some ribbon and pearls and that's it! Sorry they're a bit samey but I thought it would be nice to have one in each colourway.

I used :-
Cuttlebug embossing folder.
Sentiment :- Serendipity Stamps.
Corner :- Whimsy die. (Bit of a favourite just now.)
Pearls :- Hobby House.
Ribbon.

Back to work today! Wish I had more days off. Really enjoyed having some time to myself yesterday even if I didn't achieve much. Roll on Wednesday when I get a half day and Thursday my usual day off. Bosses are on holiday so it's a bit more relaxing for the rest of us. Doesn't actually impact on me as I just carry on as usual. I order stock, cash and stationery, do the weekly balance and just generally run the post office. My boss is the subpostmistress and gets paid accordingly....lucky her. It's a lot of extra hours for the rest of the girls but at least there's nobody nipping at them.

I'll catch up tonight after work. In the meantime thanks for looking.

Up, Up and Away!

Thanks for nothing Mr Blogger, this was supposed to post at 8am today. I didn't check of course even though I had a day off. I spent the whole morning and some of the afternoon "tidying." I started on my scrap pile and needless to say I've managed to keep some of it! I also tidied up some stamped images and die cut bits and pieces and embossed bits and pieces. I have about a box of the bits you cut off a sheet of A4 when you make a square card. I'm pretty sure I'll never be able to use them all but there they are nice and neat in a box. Why do we keep all this stuff? I think I could "tidy" for days before my stuff was actually tidy. I hate it like this but when you have to work and still do housework and cooking you tend to want to craft rather than tidy up when you get some time to yourself. Or is that just me? I did get a bit fed up and decided to go to the nearest garden centre for a coffee and a scone as the weather had improved slightly.....ie it was dry.

Is it just me or does this little bear look a wee bit worried? I don't think he meant to take off, he's probably just carrying too many balloons and got caught by the wind lol!

I used :-
Image :- LOTV.
DP :- American Crafts.
Colouring :- Promarkers.
Sentiment and Card Candi :- Craftwork Cards.
Corner :- Whimsy Die.
Glossy Accents on balloons.
>

I'm entering the following challenges :-
Papertake Weekly :- Anything Goes plus highlight something. Hope Glossy Accents on the balloons counts.
Lili's Little Fairies :- Anything Goes.
Ready Teddy Go :- Up, Up and Away.
Paperplay :- Happy Birthday.

I've got a day off so I'm hoping to get something done today. There's lots of things I'd like to do but I'll probably not get much done as usual! I really need to do a lot of tidying up among my stash but if I start doing that I'll be doing it all day lol! As you can see from above I did tidy but not all day!

Thanks for looking and thanks to anyone who leaves me a comment. I always like to read what you think of my cards.

Simply Gold!

Good afternoon everyone. Is there anyone out there or are you all watching the tennis or the Grand Prix? Hubby's watching the Grand Prix but I'm not a sports fan so I'm watching a programme about the music of Leonard Bernstein. I'll glance at the tennis now and again but I'm too nervous to watch it. I am rooting for Andy Murray though and I hope he does well.

When I saw the inspiration for Less is More - Gold, from Chrissie and Mandy yesterday I knew what I wanted to do. Unusual as I usually come up with something at the last minute on a Friday! Here's what I came up with.

I used :-
Image :- Papermania Urban - Botanical Print.
Sentiment :- Hero Arts.
Cuttlebug embossing folder, Martha Stewart punch and gold embossing powder for the image and sentiment.

I hope this posts ok because Mr Blogger has been a bit awkward this afternoon. I've already had to write this all again once after it all disappeared when I tried to upload the pic. All that was left was the first sentence. Somehow every time the system itself tried to save I got a message that it hadn't worked and to try again. If I tried saving I just got the same message. Fingers crossed it's saving ok now as I haven't seen the message for a few minutes.

Thanks for looking and it really makes my day when you take the time to leave me a comment.

Enjoy what's left of the weekend.

Totally Gorjuss 139 - Sketch.

Good morning everyone and it's time for this week's challenge at Totally Gorjuss. This week we have one of Net's lovely sketches for you. And as usual on the first Saturday of the month we have a £10 voucher for you courtesy of our lovely sponsor Joanna Sheen.

I used :-
Image :- Penny Black.
DP :- Papermania and Chatterboxinc.
Colouring :- Promarkers.
Sentiment :- Craftwork Cards.
Martha Stewart punch, Glamour Dust, doily, Sakura glitter gel pen, gems and pearls.

You may have noticed that I've had a bit of a lilac week this week and twice I've teamed it with yellow. You could say I like this colour combo! And this lovely PB image is a bit of a faourite too. This time I've paper-pieced it using the same Papermania lilac paper that I used for matting.

Hope you can join us this week. I like to use a sketch, it gives a good start when you've got a layout to follow.

Thanks for looking and enjoy your weekend.

Don't You Love Embossing and Glitter?

Another simple card from me. I love yellow with the lilac it looks so fresh. Just for a change I made a smaller card, big enough for this little image though. I haven't added a sentiment as it could be used for more than one occasion.

I used :-
Image :- Hero Arts.
Colouring :- Promarkers.
Corner :- Whimsy Die.
DP :- Chatterboxinc.
Gems, ribbon and Glamour Dust.

You might find the same colour combo if you visit me tomorrow to see my DT card for Totally Gorjuss.

Thanks for looking and I really appreciate it when you take time to leave me a comment.

A Favourite Image.....and colour!

Good evening everyone I was just going to say that after a foggy start today turned out really nice and sunny and even warm. If you happen to be in Scotland particularly the east you'll understand what I mean. But.....and there's always a but isn't there? I just looked at the window and it's raining!! It's been very foggy for two days and it looked as if today was going to be the same so sunshine and warmth was a lovely surprise!

I've not got much to show but I've been quite busy today. I sorted out my blogaversary candy into 3 lots. Who thought dividing it among 3 people was a good idea? I had to decide who got what! Then find some jiffy bags. Which led to throwing out a lot of them! Why do I automatically keep them all, even ones that aren't really re-usable? I've also finished my DT card for Saturday and done a bit of experimenting.

So here's the card using one of my favourite images and of course my favourite colour! I haven't added a sentiment as I think it could be a birthday card or a sympathy card, I'll see what's needed.

I used :-
Image :- Hero Arts.
Colouring :- Promarkers.
The flowers are paper-pieced and edged with Promarker.
Embossing folder :- M-Bossabilities.
Gems, ribbon and Glamour Dust.

I didn't make this card for any particular reason, but just because I felt like it lol!

Thanks for looking hope you like, I'd love to hear what you think.

Vroom, Vroom!!

Me again and definitely a lot later than I meant to be posting this card. Especially since it's been made since Friday. I got distracted ordering Easiyo mixes at Lakeland.

So here's my latest card.

I used :-
Image :- Penny Black.
Sentiment and Card Candi :- Craftwork Cards.
Letters and number 6 :- Sizzix.
DP :- Basic Grey.
Distress Ink and Kraft.

I'm entering the following challenges :-
Papertake Weekly :- Sketch.
Oldie But a Goodie :- Summer Holidays.
Crafting When We Can :- Summer Fun.

The doggie has his case in the back so I think he's off to have fun on his Summer Holidays! Here in Scotland the children are on holiday now for seven weeks. The teachers are delighted and some of the Mums a bit less so. Not sure how the teacher mums feel lol!

I think some of you can probably guess who this card is for. That's right, Kath's gorgeous Retriever, Buddy. I'm a wee bit late so I hope Buddy doesn't see this before he gets it lol!

Thanks for looking and I'm hoping to be less busy and more productive next week!

By the way I hope the candy winners have checked the post below to see who won.

Blogaversary candy winners.

Good evening everyone, I'm a bit later than I meant to be but just at the right time to announce the winners of  my 3rd Blogaversary candy.

I've added some more goodies to the candy after finding I have even more of some items than I thought!! Oh dear, I think the internet is a very bad thing. Too easy to see and buy lol! And I haven't even been to the latest craft shop to open near me. I'm sure most of you are familiar with Sugar Nellies. Well they have opened another shop which is only about half an hour away from me. The original shop is a full day expedition. Not so much that it's hundreds of miles away but my friend and I usually make a day of it with coffee in the morning, then lunch and coffee again on the way home!

But enough waffle. I used random.org and the numbers that came up are 29, 30 and 13. So that's Aud, Sue and Lorraine. I decided to share the candy with 3 people since as I said earlier I found some more goodies to add to the original candy. So if Aud, Sue and Lorraine could get in touch with me by Friday 6th July I'll get your goodies out as soon as possible. My email is katanderson.13@gmail.com

Thanks to everyone who entered and I'll have some more candy soon if you missed out this time.

3rd Blogaversary Candy.

This post is a sticky so please scroll down to see my latest cards.

Hi everyone, sorry to be a day late with this post as I said I would do it yesterday. Somehow it was evening and I still hadn't taken a photo of the candy! Better late than never I suppose.

So here it is. Anybody want it? There aren't many rules but I'd like to give it to a couple of followers. It's up to you if you put a photo in your sidebar to let others know. I've decided to split it so it's not too heavy ie expensive to post. Don't forget I work in my local post office so I know what the prices are like lol!

What's in it?

2 Cuddly Buddly stamps.
3 sets of Greeting Farm stamps and one single one.
2 Sugar Nellie stamps.
Basic Grey and Kate Knight paper pads.
Prima Flowers.
Wild Orchid Crafts flowers.
1 pack Papermania ribbons.
6 rolls American Crafts ribbon.
Assorted ribbons and cords.
Pearl and diamonte buckles.
Buttons, pearls and gems.

I'll leave this at the top of my blog till 1st July  and draw the winners at 8pm. If I get any new followers I'll add some more goodies. Not sure what yet but I'll see what happens.

Thanks for looking.
