Pink!

Hi everyone. This seems to be another week where I haven't achieved very much! Well I have been busy but just crafted much. I have kept up to date with my DT commenting and visiting my favourite blogs. My broadband is so slow that even as little as this takes ages.

We're invited to and evening reception on Saturday. My husband's boss's daughter is getting married and some of the staff are invited. It's in a very posh hotel in Aberdeen and since we'll probably never be in there otherwise we decided to go lol! I made a little gift card to go with the present and I've posted a congratulations card that they'll get at the hotel - I hope. So this is the gift card. Not much of an achievement,is it? I was going to stamp something on the front but then realised that I'd probably mess up since there isn't much space to stamp. With my luck I'd get ink somewhere I didn't want it lol!

Hope it doesn't look too blurry. My camera is still away for repair and I haven't heard anything about what's happening. Looks like I'm stuck with the bad photos for a while!

I used :-
Martha Stewart punch and a scrap of pink Bazzill.

I'm entering the following challenges :-
Cupcake :- A Gift Card. Honest it is a gift card, it's only about 3" square!
Truly Scrumptious :- Rocked up pink - use mainly pink.

Time for a coffee now I think. I can't believe the sun has come out now after such a horrible morning. When I took the dogs out at lunchtime it was dry again but really miserable. The dogs are out in the garden for a wee while as all they have in their heads is destruction. I'm sure two dogs are more than twice as naughty as one dog lol!!

Catch up with you all later.

Non-Traditional Christmas.

Good morning from snowy Aberdeenshire. My husband has just spent ages shovelling snow round the house and all down the drive. Then there is a track from the tar road leading to us and past us to another house. He didn't try to clear the track and the car got nearly to the road and then stuck. More shovelling to get back home. He turned and came back because the road was impassable, no other cars or tractors or anything had been on it. Our little back road gets cleared by a tractor and snowplough during the week but obviously not at the weekend cos it wasn't touched yesterday either. So no Sunday papers for us! Unfortunately I'll probably get to work tomorrow. No rest for the wicked! Goodness knows what it would be like if I was wicked lol!!!

I've not been blogging much for a while but I have been busy so I thought I'd show you one of my easy Christmas cards. I made four like this but because I can't make 2 the same I've varied the position of the sentiment and snowflakes.

I've used :-
Sentiment :- Papermania.
DP :- Magnolia.
Snowflakes :- Martha Stewart punches.
Card candy :- Craftwork Cards.
Glitter.

Challenges for this card :-
Cupcake :- Non-traditional Christmas.
Allsorts :- Anything goes.

Thanks for looking, I'm off to investigate a big pot of potato soup. Maybe get some more crafting done this afternoon. My younger daughter phoned for a moan and held me up for about an hour lol! Snow seems to be causing her all sorts of problems in Aberdeen too.

Hope this isn't too young!

I came back from my babysitting session at my daughter's on Sunday and luckily had the day off yesterday to catch up with washing and ironing. Well I did wash but I managed to leave the ironing till today. I decided that yesterday I should try to make a card for my son's birthday and make a start on my latest DT kit from Simply Create.

Iain likes cars - massive understatement - he works in the service department of a big garage in Aberdeen. I can't really be surprised as my eldest brother is a motor engineer and my other brother was pretty good at fixing cars too. Not sure Iain'll appreciate the image on this card though since he'll be 34 on his birthday. Not sure how he can be that age. Just seems no time since he was a wee boy!

I used :-
Image :- Penny Black.
DP :- Prima.
Colouring :- Promarkers.
Sentiment :- Craftwork Cards.
Buttons, string and ribbon from stash.

I should even manage to enter some challenges this week.
Penny Black :- Sketch.
Cards for Men :- Happy Birthday.
Cupcake :- Boys and their Toys.
One Stitch at a Time :- Embellish it - buttons and ribbon.

I made 2 cards and a little gift bag from my Simply Create kit last night and I've got something to alter so I'm going to try to do that tonight. But I'll post them all tomorrow.

Thanks for looking and if you have time to leave a comment I can come over and visit you too.

Some Baby Cards.

I made some baby cards the other day. I have pink ones and blue ones and even lilac ones but my boss and her husband became grandparents last week and I've known their son, the proud Dad, since he was a little boy. So I wanted 2 special cards. I don't know if it happened as planned but here they are anyway.

This is the one I made for the proud grandparents.

I used a digi stamp from Pink Gem Designs, isn't he cute? I used some lovely blue gingham from Craft Creations and coloured with Promarkers.

And this is the inside. I stamped this lovely text from Paper Makeup Stamps on the left and the congrats message was done on the computer.

I'm entering this card in some challenges :-
Cupcake :- Sketch.
Stamp Something :- Use a digi.

This is the card I made for the proud parents. The photo doesn't show up very well but I used some more lovely DP from Craft Creations. The image is from Forever Friends and I've had it for ages and I've used it lots of times, I love it. The sentiment is from Craftwork Cards and the pearls are from the Hobby House. And of course the gorgeous flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts and I've edged them with Promarker to match.

Inside I've used another lovely sentiment from Paper Makeup Stamps and just a stamped congratulations for the message on the other side.

I also made a tag to match for the baby's present. I love both of these sentiment stamps, they're just perfect for new babies.

I'm entering the second card in the following challenges :-
Truly Scrumptious :- Sketch. I've managed to use blue but no green!
Oldie But a Goodie :-  New Beginnings plus a stamp I've had for more than a year.

I think that's me up to date with posting now! Now I need to get some DT work done and try to visit some blogs. I only have one DT card to make and then I can try to get something done with the gorgeous DT kit Jacqui has sent from  Simply Create. This is my first kit from Simply Create and I'm quite nervous cos all the other girls on the DT are really talented.

She's so cute!

I love House Mouse images and this is one of my favourite images to make a new baby card. Isn't this a cute mousie baby?

The House Mouse Challenge this week is for something new so I decided to make a new baby card. I used the great sketch from Cupcake Craft Challenge.

I used :-

Image :- House Mouse - Baby Blocks.
DP :- Wild Rose Studio.
Colouring :- Promarkers, Spica Glitter Gel pen and Distress Ink in Spun Sugar for edges.
Flowers :- Wild Orchid Crafts.
Pearls :- the Hobby House.
Doiley :- Joanna Sheen.

I'm not sure about the way I've coloured the blocks but apart from that I quite like how this card turned out. Hope you like it and can find time to leave me a comment. I'm always encouraged by the kind comments people leave and it's nice to be able to visit you in turn and see what you've been making. I made this card on Saturday as well as my DT card for Just Cute Bears and I'm really pleased to have managed to make two cards in one day. I still need to make another Sympathy card or probably two would be better so I'll have a spare one. I also need to make my Uncle's card and one for a teenage nephew. But I have a day off on Monday so hopefully I can have a good day crafting then!

Enjoy the rest of your weekend.

Titchy Card!

Just a quick post with this titchy wee card I made earlier but funnily enough it fits 3 challenges!

I used:-
DP :- MME pretty please (again!).
Flowers :- Prima.
Sentiment :- Craftwork Cards.
Nesties, Fiskars punch, spacer, brad, ribbon.
I had a lot of fun (not) cutting this out as my scalloped nesty didn't want to go through 2 thicknesses of card. Can't really blame it as the card is quite thick.
The challenges I am entering are :-
Mojo Monday :- Sketch.
Cupcake :- Don't be square.
ABC :- T for thank you.
Well I'm late to bed as usual and I should have been earlier because I guess I need to help with the decorating at my daughters flat. She always manages to skive but hopefully we can get more painting done tomorrow and maybe even make a start with the papering!!
Enjoy the rest of the weekend. I'm off on Monday too for the Bank Holiday but I don't think it's going to be much of a holiday. Still it gives us a chance to get on with Mhairi's flat, there's only so much you get get done at the weekend especially when you have to work some of it.
See you tomorrow....actually later today with my DT card for Just Cute Bears.

Sleepy Bear!

Hi everyone. Seems like ages since I posted a card. I did make another one today but I can't show it to you till Saturday since it's my DT card for Totally Gorjuss. I've been out 2 nights this week so I'm probably lucky to have got any cards made any cards at all. I'm really pleased to have managed to make a card for the Penny Black challenge. It's ages since I managed an entry there and I do love my Penny Black stamps!

Image :- Penny Black.
DP :- Paper Adventures.
Flowers :- Hero Arts.
Sentiment and card candy :- Craftwork cards.
Colouring :- Promarkers.
I'm meaning to enter a few challenges with this card:-
Penny Black :- Spring colours.
The Pink Elephant :- Spring colours.
Cupcake :- Green.
Sketch and Stash :- Sketch and my DP has been neglected for quite a while!
Fussy and Fancy :- Green.
I think that's all I can say about this card, quite a simple one really.

Sweet and Gorjuss.

Hello everyone and it's time for another challenge at Totally Gorjuss. This week our theme is "Sweet."

I have chosen sweet as in yummy although I think this Tilda is pretty sweet as in cute too!

I have been very short of time this week as I was at the craft show at the SECC on Sunday, a WRI quiz on Tuesday evening and a meeting about our co-operative entry for our local show on Wednesday evening. Then this morning I had to make the scones I promised for the teas, finish off a Get Well card as an entry for the show and start this one. After work I finished sewing up a hat, another entry, delivered the stuff to a friend to take in for me as I will be at work in the morning and finished this card.

DP:- Basic Grey - cupcake.
Colouring :- Promarkers and a touch of Spica glitter gel pen on the ice cream.
Buttons :- MME.
Flowers :- MS punch plus card candy.
Sentiment :- Whiff of Joy.
I am going to enter a few challenges with this card too :-

Truly Scrumptious :- Sketch plus good enough to eat.
Magnolia Down Under :- 3 papers, 3 flowers, 2 buttond and 1 bow.
Crafty Cardmakers :- Feminine celebration.
Crafty Creations :- Make your own flowers.
Cute Card Thursday :- Celebrations.
Cupcake :- Flowers.

If Mr Blogger is being a good boy this post will appear in the morning. Looking forward to seeing how you interpret our theme this week. I have not been good at commenting this week due to shortage of time so I can only apologise and promise to do better this week.

Thank You!

Good evening girls. I hope you have all had a good day. It has been mainly lovely and sunny here in Aberdeenshire. We had a little dusting of snow when I got up and a little shower at lunchtime but nothing that did any harm. Really cold wind but I don't think it was enough to say that March came in like a lion!

I made this card yesterday evening after I had been a good girl and finished my ironing. Left it to take a photo today completely forgetting that by the time I got home the light would be gone! I thought it would be handy to have a "Thank You" card in my box.

I'm not sure the second photo adds anything. I thought it might show that I decoupaged the flowers and popped up the whole thing on sticky pads.

Sentiment:- Hero Arts.

Colouring :- Promarkers and chalks.

Card Candy:- Craftwork cards.

Also used:- Cuttlebug Swiss dots folder, Sakura clear gel and glitter gel pens, ribbon.

I'm entering the following challenges with this card :-

Easy Craft Projects :- Thank you.
Crafty Creations :- Cut it out and pop it up.
Cupcake :- Round and round.

Think that's me now. I'm off to check if we've got many entries at Totally Gorjuss and Just Cute Bears.

See you tomorrow,

Kat xx

Just Magnolia 39.

I don't think this is exactly my finest hour. I decided to try the Just Magnolia challenge which is paper pleating. I followed the tutorial which was very clear but maybe it would have been better if I had practised instead of just jumping straight in. I have used red mainly which fits the Daring Cardmakers challenge. I followed the sketch from Stamp Something which I think goes well with the image. I think the card is "girly" enough for the Cupcake challenge and it is a birthday card which fits the Pink Elephant challenge.

I used Promarkers to colour the image, edge the image, sentiment and flowers and colour the card candy to match. The sentiment and card candy is from Craftwork Cards and the flowers are Hero Arts. The DP is DCWV, K& Co and the spotty piece is anonymous.

As I said probably not my best card and certainly not a good photo. I have just never got out of the bit all day. My husband had the day off today as his boss died of a massive brain haemorrhage yesterday and everyone was given the day off. He was the sort of boss who knew everyone who worked for him - and there were a lot of them. I think what bothers a lot of them was that he was a similar age to a lot of them! Since the roads around us are a bit better, still quite thick ice and a lot of water but an improvement, I went to buy a present for a friend's granddaughter and some more double sided tape! But I seemed to spend a lot of time just faffing about catching up on blogs before I thought maybe I could do a couple of Friday challenges. Tomorrow I need to shift myself and get my DT card done for Totally Gorjuss.

See you tomorrow, I should try to comment on some of the entries for the TG challenge now and maybe have a nice cup of coffee at the same time.

Baby Girl Card.

I think I may be jinxed. I've left this a bit late as usual and when I finished I took a couple of photos and put them on the laptop and then uploaded them to blogger and decided which of the two looked best. Neither was actually that good but it is evening! Then I realised that I hadn't added the 5 jewels I meant to put under the ribbon. So I've deleted the first photos and tried again.

Not sure if I'm too late for the Mojo Monday challenge or not but I liked the sketch and I need a baby card. This is handy because the Cupcake challenge is a baby card and the Cute Card Thursday challenge is New. The Sohisticat challenge is fancy borders and I have done a heart border and the Spoon Full of Sugar challenge is hearts. The ABC challenge is L for layering. Lastly the Papertake Weekly challenge is new beginnings. I think I am probably too late for some of these challenges but the card will do for a friend who has a new grand daughter.

I used some lovely DP from Craft Creations, which unfortunately does not photograph very well! The cute little image is from Stampendous and I coloured it with Promarkers. The lovely scalloped card is from Craftwork Cards and I cut the border with a Martha Stewart punch.
I'd best shoot off now and do my ironing as I suppose I need to go to work tomorrow. Hope you all had a lovely weekend. It seems to have passed very quickly. I don't suppose tomorrow at work will pass very quickly. I'm really keen to get in among my new stash but I've been too busy this weekend. I've had a look at the 2010 Hero Arts catalogue that I treated myself to. That may have been a mistake as I can see more stamps I would like lol!!
Take care in this snowy weather and keep safe and warm. Hope you can find time to tell me what you think of my efforts.

Warm Wishes.

Hi girls me again for the second time today. I finished this card this evening after work. I was hoping to enter it in the Whiff of Joy challenge. I might be too late now though. Never mind another Christmas card is very welcome. I followed the sketch from Whiff of Joy and coloured this lovely image of Henry mouse with hot chocolate....yummm, with Promarkers. I used some lovely wassail DP from Basic Grey. The card candy and sentiment is from Craftwork cards. I used a Martha Stewart punch to edge of a piece of cardstock with a double hole scallop. The flowers are white ones from Hero Arts which I also coloured with a Promarker and finished with brads.

I think this also fits the Stamp Something challenge :- Glitzy somethings - I've added some jewels and stickles on the hat.
Whimsy :- Die cuts.
the Pink Elephant :- Favourite Christmas colour combination.

I managed to make this card this morning just to see how it worked and whether I would make any more similar to it. I think I might. The large snowflake is a Sizzix die. The image is Penny Black again coloured with Promarkers. The sentiment and card candy is from Craftwork Cards again. Not really much to it but it would be quick to do and I could vary the image and the DP which this time is MME colourful Christmas.

I've used a sketch that I followed some time ago because I thought it would be simple and quick to follow to make a few cards. After checking out some of the challenges I often enter I think it would fit the Creative Card Crew challenge which is gold or silver.

I'm off now to explore another couple of ideas I've had. I really need to get a move on because once I've finished these cards I'll be the lucky person who has the privilege of writing them. I also know for a fact that I need to revise my labels to sort the ones I don't need any more and the ones where the details have changed.

Maybe if I'm really quick (lol) I'll be back with another card later.

Baby Card

I'm needing to make a few baby cards so the Die Cut Dreams challenge seemed ideal. The cute little charm has not photographed very well but it is a little teddy bear....sweet! I love this sweet image from Whiff of Joy, it is one of my favourite stamps for baby cards.

DP - DCWV Nana's nursery -baby boy -this one is lovely and glittery.

Flowers - Heidi Grace. Flowers are a favourite embellishment along with ribbon.

Image - Whiff of Joy.

From stash - card, buttons, ribbon, charm, brad and spacer.

Colouring - Promarkers.

Stitching - mini sewing machine.

Challenges:-

Cupcake Craft Challenge - Buttons and stitching.

Whimsy - Punchy.

Whiff of Joy - Image and die cut.

Paperplay - Favourite embellishments.
Stamp Something - Bling (DP and ribbon are both glittery).

If the Shoe Fits Scrap It - Bling it.

Hopefully I have complied with all these challenges! Must go now and enter them before I forget lol!!
Might be back later with some mini candy.

Soon be the Weekend!

I've been naughty again! After I fed and walked the dogs and hung out my washing I've been making this card. My excuse is that I'm working this afternoon and when I come home from work it will be too late and this card fits 4 Saturday challenges.

I used this great sketch from Sketch Saturday. It was really easy to use - even for me! I've used the lovely lemonade papers from Basic Grey and for the other part of their challenge I put some of the dark pink through the bug in the divine swirls folder. I used nesties to cut out the ovals, coloured one of my new Penny Black stamps with Promarkers and used a Sakura clear gel glitter pen on the hearts. The Pile it on challenge wants flowers so I punched out some with my EK Success punches and finished them off with stick on pearls. To complete the Penny Black challenge I add a piece of paper lace and buttons from my stash for the Whimsy challenge. The edges of the background paper have been distressed with Distress Inks for the http://cupcakecraftchallenges.blogspot.com/. I added faux stitching for the Simon Says Stamp challenge. And it looks like a girl's card so I can enter the Secret Crafter Saturday challenge. If I can get round to decorating the inside I could also enter the Creative Card Crew challenge too.

Just another view of the card to show that I put the image up on sticky pads to give a bit of dimension.

Not sure what work will be like this afternoon.....! My colleague just phoned to say that the printer wasn't working and the engineer had until Monday to come out to fix it!!! There are so many things you can't do in the Post Office if you don't have a printer. I guess I could have a quiet afternoon if the engineer doesn't appear lol!! I should be so lucky. Good thing it's Friday and not Monday or we would be really popular. On the bright side I am off tomorrow and I'm going to a crop at my local craft shop and I'm also off on Monday - just because I want a day off.

So I'm off to post this now and see if I can do some housework before I leave for work.

Hope you like and please let me know what you think if you have a minute to spare.

Kat x

It is now Sunday and guess who forgot to post a photo of the inside of the card!!! I'm probably too late now but here it is anyway. I'm never sure what to do with insides. Some are easier than others - can be difficult if you have a 6x6 pad and only two sheets of each paper. Never mind her it is.

Halloween....

Well this is something I have never done before! This is the first time I have ever made a Halloween card. Not sure how I came to decide on a Halloween card but here it is. I think it may have been because I wanted to take part in the white, black and one other colour from Pile it On and Pollycraft. I also wanted to do the Just Magnolia challenge and Halloween seemed the only theme that fitted. I don't usually think of Tilda in terms of black and white but I thought one of the Halloween Tilda's would fit the bill.
I used the great sketch from Creative Inspirations and coloured this lovely Tilda with her spider's web and broomstick with my Promarkers. I used the lovely Halloween papers from MME. The black paper says "BOO"!! I also used some Core dinations whitewash paper which I put through the Cuttlebug in the divine swirls folder and then sanded to show the underlying green it has also been distressed and inked with black and matted onto black. The black "BOO" paper is matted onto green which has been distressed and inked with black. The image has been edged with lime green Promarker (which unfortunately looks a bit yellow) and then inked with black as has the sentiment. I added some leaves that I cut out with a Martha Stewart punch. The green ric rac, green pearls, cat charm and eyelets are from my stash.

The challenges I am entering are:-

Creative Inspirations Wednesday Challenge:- Sketch plus brads or eyelets.
Colour Create:- Neon green and black plus leaves and charms.
Just Magnolia 22:- Embossing.
Cupcake Craft Challenge:- Pearls and Swirls.
Pile it On:- White, black and one colour.
Pollycraft Challenge:- Black, white and one colour.

I've just realised I will need to take another photo of this card in the morning as there is something missing lol!! Trust me, I'm to busy thinking I need to get this posted to enter Creative Inspirations challenge before it is too late and then get my Tesco order finshed for tomorrow. I also have a card to finish before I go to my friend's house with it tomorrow. It would be finished but she decided to stamp a greeting inside and I made a mess of it so now I need to decorate the inside so as to hide the mess. In spite of the fact that rock a blocks are supposed to make a perfect image I can usually make a mess with them.

I'd best go now and do the things I really need to and maybe I'll be back tomorrow with something else. With my track record with photos I may not be back till Thursday!!!

Kat x
Wednesday evening - I've changed the photos now.

Some More Challenges.

Good afternoon girls, I have been very naughty this morning. I only meant to sit down for a wee while and think about what I was going to do for this week's Whiff of Joy challenge and look at the time now!! I had a few ideas about what other challenges I could fit in. But it kind of snowballed. Now I have no housework done and I need to go to work at 1.45.

Well as I said this is for the Whiff of Joy challenge and I used the lovely sketch from Friday Sketchers and their optional colours blue and orange. Now orange is definitely not my colour but I thought I would give it a go anyway and see what happened! The sweet image is coloured with Promarkers and i went over the flowers in her hand and hair with a Sakura glitter gel pen. Probably not obvious. Not obvious either but the pale blue ribbon is very shimmery and gorgeous. Nesties were used as usual and the jewels, ribbon and buttons are from my stash. The plain blue
Not sure that the next piccie adds anything but it does show you my wonky sewing. I added stitching for the La La Lands Wednesday blog which I discovered has already closed - on Sunday 30th!! Guess I missed it then. Never mind I think the card still fits a few challenges lol.

So I think this card fits the following challenges:-
Friday Sketchers:- sketch plus blue and orange.
Whiff of Joy:- bling.
Crafty Cardmakers:- complementary colours - blue and orange.
Passion for Promarkers:- any colours and girly and glittery.
Cupcake Craft:- 3 buttons, 2 papers and 1 ribbon.
Whimsy:- touchy feely - bling, buttons and ribbon.
Pile it on:- round -buttons, DP and swiss dots.
365 cards:- 3 shades of blue.
I'm just about breathless after listin all those challenges!!!
Best go and post this now and see if I can have some lunch before I go to work. Hope you enjoy the rest of what is a lovely day here. Much nicer than yesterday when some people round here had a day off for the Bank Holiday.
Maybe see you later and please let me know what you think of this card or any other one that you may like (or otherwise).

Cupcake Craft Challenge

Good evening everyone. I've used the lovely Whiff of Joy sketch to make this card. I am also entering it in the Cupcake Craft challenge, which is something sweet with the added option of including a cupcake. The papers are the lovely Basic Grey cupcake. I coloured the lovely Whiff of Joy bear with cupcake with my Promarkers and used a Sakura glitter gel pen on the icing. Nesties were used to cut out the rectangles. I punched a corner using the same blue card I used for the base card and for layering. Ribbon, button and little jewels are from my stash.

Hope you like,

Kat x
