My favourite colour......

Hi everyone when I saw the Penny Black challenge I couldn't resist trying to CASE Kath's stunning card. I'm not sure if she'll approve of my effort but I really enjoyed making it. I used colours I really love and I quite like it. ok I'm lying I do like it and in fact I've been making another card using the same layout today.

I had Monday and Tuesday off for the Jubilee this week and I thought fantastic I'll get loads done. So did I? Well no, I got 2 cards made! Did anyone else find the same? I was so busy watching the Jubilee coverage that all my plans fell by the wayside. Never mind at least I had time off. I thought today would be busy at work as usual after a holiday but it wasn't too bad.

I used :-
Image :- Penny Black.
Sentiment :- Heritage.
DP :- Basic Grey.
Colouring :- Promarkers and Flexmarkers.
Flowers :- Daisy punch.
Gems :- Hobby House.
Tag punch, Nesties and ribbon.

I'm entering the following challenges :-

Well I'm off to finish my DT card for Saturday. It's my younger daughter's birthday today and since we were both at work today she wants me to go shopping with her tomorrow! Sounds expensive to me lol!

Well thanks for looking, if anyone does and even more thanks to anyone who leaves me a comment.

Pink!

Hi everyone. This seems to be another week where I haven't achieved very much! Well I have been busy but just crafted much. I have kept up to date with my DT commenting and visiting my favourite blogs. My broadband is so slow that even as little as this takes ages.

We're invited to and evening reception on Saturday. My husband's boss's daughter is getting married and some of the staff are invited. It's in a very posh hotel in Aberdeen and since we'll probably never be in there otherwise we decided to go lol! I made a little gift card to go with the present and I've posted a congratulations card that they'll get at the hotel - I hope. So this is the gift card. Not much of an achievement,is it? I was going to stamp something on the front but then realised that I'd probably mess up since there isn't much space to stamp. With my luck I'd get ink somewhere I didn't want it lol!

Hope it doesn't look too blurry. My camera is still away for repair and I haven't heard anything about what's happening. Looks like I'm stuck with the bad photos for a while!

I used :-
Martha Stewart punch and a scrap of pink Bazzill.

I'm entering the following challenges :-
Cupcake :- A Gift Card. Honest it is a gift card, it's only about 3" square!
Truly Scrumptious :- Rocked up pink - use mainly pink.

Time for a coffee now I think. I can't believe the sun has come out now after such a horrible morning. When I took the dogs out at lunchtime it was dry again but really miserable. The dogs are out in the garden for a wee while as all they have in their heads is destruction. I'm sure two dogs are more than twice as naughty as one dog lol!!

Catch up with you all later.

Totally Gorjuss 94 - Cute and Cuddly.

Good morning everyone and thank goodness it's the weekend at last! I had to work on my day off on Thursday and was off on Friday instead. Lucky for me it was a lovely day even though I was inside most of the day. Having to work on Thursday was a pain in the neck at work as it was so quiet and all I could think of was the things I could have done if I hadn't been stuck there with nothing to do except try to read the papers.

This week at Totally Gorjuss our theme is "cute and cuddly", we'd like to see animals on your cards. Easy isn't it? And to really make you happy we're sponsored by Simon Says Stamp and you know what yummy goodies you can find there!

Sentiment and Card Candi :- Craftwork Cards.
DP :- First Edition - Festive Treats.

Love is in the air!

Hi everyone, hope you're all enjoying the lovely weather this weekend. It's been lovely here in Aberdeenshire for a while now. I was lucky enough to have a day off on Friday but the only time I saw the sun was when I took the dogs for their walks as I was watching The Royal Wedding. It was really amazing, I loved it. Catherine was a beautiful bride and everything just went so well. I loved it when they left Buckingham Palace in the Aston Martin. Not sure why I thought I'd get anything done on Friday! Eventually in the evening I managed to make this card. Always useful to have a wedding card in your box.

I used :-
Image :- LOTV with some added Glamour Dust.
DP :- Sandylion.
Roses :- Wild Orchid Crafts.
Sentiment :- Craftwork Cards.
Pearls :- Hobby House.
Beautiful lace from stash.

I'm entering the following challenges :-
Lili of the Valley :- Love is in the air.
Stampin' For the Weekend :- Wedding.
Totally Papercrafts :- Glitter.
Truly Scrumptious :- Sketch.
Easy Craft Projects :- Royal Wedding.
Die Cut Dreams :- Wedding.

I was quite pleased that I managed to make something after all on my day off and even more pleased that it all came together quite quickly.

I'm looking forward to another day off tomorrow for the May Day Bank holiday. If I hadn't had to work yesterday morning I'd have been off from Thursday till Tuesday afternoon. 5 days in a row would have been nice but since we weren't doing anything on Saturday it wasn't worth losing a day's holiday just to have a morning off. Hope the weather's still nice tomorrow!

Hope you like and if you can spare a minute to leave me a comment I'd love to hear what you think.

Poppy's Birthday Card.

Just a quick post with Poppy's birthday card. Poppy loves green so I've tried to use enough green to keep her happy. The little ballerina's headband is green but I covered it with Sakura clear glitter gel pen so it's not showing up very well in the photo!

I used :-
Image :- LOTV.
DP :- MME.
Colouring :- Promarkers & Sakura clear glitter gel pen.
Sentiment :- Craftwork Cards.
Pearls :- Hobby House.
Jewels and ribbon from stash.

Challenges I'm entering :-
Lili of the Valley :- Glitter and Glitz.
Truly Scrumptious :- Sketch plus Happy Birthday.
Simon Says Stamp :- Sparkle. (Thanks Lols)

I should probably go and do my ironing now while the puppies aren't around. I don't really want to find one or both of them swinging from the cable lol! They tend to do things together. Like stealing shoes or boots. I'm just hoping that I don't have to ask people to save their newspapers for me lol.

Enjoy what's left of your weekend.

Thanks for looking.

Some Baby Cards.

I made some baby cards the other day. I have pink ones and blue ones and even lilac ones but my boss and her husband became grandparents last week and I've known their son, the proud Dad, since he was a little boy. So I wanted 2 special cards. I don't know if it happened as planned but here they are anyway.

This is the one I made for the proud grandparents.

I used a digi stamp from Pink Gem Designs, isn't he cute? I used some lovely blue gingham from Craft Creations and coloured with Promarkers.

And this is the inside. I stamped this lovely text from Paper Makeup Stamps on the left and the congrats message was done on the computer.

I'm entering this card in some challenges :-
Cupcake :- Sketch.
Stamp Something :- Use a digi.

This is the card I made for the proud parents. The photo doesn't show up very well but I used some more lovely DP from Craft Creations. The image is from Forever Friends and I've had it for ages and I've used it lots of times, I love it. The sentiment is from Craftwork Cards and the pearls are from the Hobby House. And of course the gorgeous flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts and I've edged them with Promarker to match.

Inside I've used another lovely sentiment from Paper Makeup Stamps and just a stamped congratulations for the message on the other side.

I also made a tag to match for the baby's present. I love both of these sentiment stamps, they're just perfect for new babies.

I'm entering the second card in the following challenges :-
Truly Scrumptious :- Sketch. I've managed to use blue but no green!
Oldie But a Goodie :-  New Beginnings plus a stamp I've had for more than a year.

I think that's me up to date with posting now! Now I need to get some DT work done and try to visit some blogs. I only have one DT card to make and then I can try to get something done with the gorgeous DT kit Jacqui has sent from  Simply Create. This is my first kit from Simply Create and I'm quite nervous cos all the other girls on the DT are really talented.

Butterflies and Bees.

Good afternoon everyone and I hope it is as lovely where you are as it is here in Aberdeenshire. I should add that I am pretty far East, not far from the North Sea.....just in case it is not so nice inland lol!

I've made a very quick card this morning. I've been racking my brains about the Penny Black challenge. I knew the butterflies part was not a problem but the bees??? It was only when I went to look for some stamps to finish Oliver's hanging that I realised I did have two stamps with bees. This one which I added to the cat with the flowers and butterflies and one with a big fat bee! So I have made a really simple and quick card.

I am also entering some more challenges with it.

Secret Crafter :- Pink, green and flowers.
Basic Grey :- Tutti Frutti.

I think I've met these challenges ok!

I used
DP :- Basic Grey nook and pantry.
Images :- Penny Black.
Flowers :- Prima.
Sentiment :- Craftwork Cards.
Colouring :- Promarkers plus Sakura clear gel pen.
Ribbon, brads and jewels from stash.
I think that's it then. Best get a move on and find time to have some lunch before work.
Enjoy your weekend everyone especially if you have a holiday on Monday too. Don't eat too much chocolate....as if!!

Sweet and Gorjuss.

Hello everyone and it's time for another challenge at Totally Gorjuss. This week our theme is "Sweet."

I have chosen sweet as in yummy although I think this Tilda is pretty sweet as in cute too!

I have been very short of time this week as I was at the craft show at the SECC on Sunday, a WRI quiz on Tuesday evening and a meeting about our co-operative entry for our local show on Wednesday evening. Then this morning I had to make the scones I promised for the teas, finish off a Get Well card as an entry for the show and start this one. After work I finished sewing up a hat, another entry, delivered the stuff to a friend to take in for me as I will be at work in the morning and finished this card.

DP:- Basic Grey - cupcake.
Colouring :- Promarkers and a touch of Spica glitter gel pen on the ice cream.
Buttons :- MME.
Flowers :- MS punch plus card candy.
Sentiment :- Whiff of Joy.
I am going to enter a few challenges with this card too :-

Truly Scrumptious :- Sketch plus good enough to eat.
Magnolia Down Under :- 3 papers, 3 flowers, 2 buttond and 1 bow.
Crafty Cardmakers :- Feminine celebration.
Crafty Creations :- Make your own flowers.
Cute Card Thursday :- Celebrations.
Cupcake :- Flowers.

If Mr Blogger is being a good boy this post will appear in the morning. Looking forward to seeing how you interpret our theme this week. I have not been good at commenting this week due to shortage of time so I can only apologise and promise to do better this week.

Busy Saturday.

Good evening girls. Today I went to a crop at my local craft shop. I took the day off this time so I could go all day. Sometimes I just go at 1pm after work. I was quite pleased with myself as I had one card almost completely prepared and one fairly prepared. I also took some beer mats to cover as I wanted to make a hanging with Oliver's name on it. Unfortunately I didn't take any papers for this but I managed to find some there so they are covered on both sides at least. I still have to cut out the letters of his name so maybe I'll get my Cricut out tomorrow! By then it was 2.30 and to my horror I discovered I had nothing else to do. My cards just needed little final touches as I did not take any card candy or jewels or flowers with me. I thought I had some House Mouse decoupage in my bag but no it was at home. So I just had a browse around the shop and had a look at some scrapbooking magazines and a coffee till it was time to go. I didn't buy much as I am saving myself for the SECC next Sunday......can't wait! But I did buy a gorgeous new set of MME glittered papers - Penny Lane.

I decided to make a Baby congratulations card to add to the ones I have. I thought lilac and aqua would do for a boy or a girl so that would be handy as whether you have pink or blue it's always the other one you need. My friend gave me the card candy as it is exactly the same colour as my backing card. I have lilac but it is quite pale. The papers are from the lilac patchwork collection from Cuddly Buddly. I printed another sheet of the stripey one this morning but....and there's always a but I realised when I looked at it at the crop that the original was printed on pearlescent paper and the new one was on plain white paper. So I had to finish that this evening. I also added the flowers from Wild Orchid Craftsand aqua! leaves. Not a very good photo unfortunately.

I am entering this card in the following challenges:-
House Mouse :- Multi-fold card.
My second card is a thank you card using a "Bear" stamp from Hobby Art Ltd. I love these bears, they are really cute. I've use more paper from the patchwork collection from Cuddly Buddly. I think this is a nice fresh paper and makes a nice simple card. I finished off with some card candy coloured with Promarker to match and another rose from Wild Orchid Crafts.

I thought this photo was ok until I uploaded it and then realised that it's a bit squint. Too late now though! I'm entering this card in the following challenges:-

Creative Inspirations challenge :- Thank you.

Sassy Designs by Susie :- Lilac and aqua.

Truly Scrumptious :- Sketch.

I think that's all for now. I'm off to check out the entries over at Totally Gorjuss.

See you all tomorrow. Enjoy the rest of your weekend.

Big Flower!

Good evening everyone, I'm a bit late in the evening with this one but I wanted to enter the Creative Inspirations Wednesday challenge which is for a project using pink and cream.

I'm not sure why I added another photo because I think you can probably see the layering in the first photo lol! In real life the card is not as pale as it looks here and the buttons match the DP from K&Co and the flower which is Stackies from Polka Doodles

I distressed the edges of the papers and also added Distress Ink in tattered rose. You might be able to see that I've added some tattered rose to the flower layers and the sentiment as well.

This card should some other challenges too :-

Truly Scrumptious :- Sketch and buttons and bows.

Allsorts :- Distressed plus buttons and a bow.

Creatalicious challenge :- No stamped images.

I quite like this card! I love the DP and I think the flower worked quite well but you can always tell me if it is rubbish. constructive criticism is alway welcome. Wouldn't do if I thought all my work was wonderful. I'm more likely to think my cards are not very good actually. But probably a lot of us are guilty of that, aren't we?

I'm off to post this and enter the challenges and finish off my Tesco order.

Party 2010

Just a quick post with the card I should have finished last night and posted! I have to go to work in an hour (or probably less would be better) and yesterday it took about an hour to get the snow off my car especially the windscreen. Then to crown it all I was heading out the track from our house to the very narrow back road that leads to the main road when all the snow slid off the roof onto the windscreen so I had to stop and get rid of that. I just love winter......not"!!

I'm hoping to enter 3 challenges with this card. I coloured this cute PB image with Promarkers and cut it out with nesties. I also used my Cuttlebug to emboss "celebrate"which I then went over in silver pen as it wasn't showing up very well. I also used the bug to cut out the numbers which I decided to raise on foam pads. Not one of my best ideas as even the tiny foam pads are a bit big in places and I had to cut them. To crown it all the little paper covers were not too keen on coming off! I used some lovely Bo Bunny DP - it's lovely and bright and this is both sides of one sheet. The flowers were cut out from vellum and DP with a Martha Stewart punch and the card candy is from Craftwork Cards. And that's it really. Needless to say I did not get as much done yesterday as I had hoped but I have got some more tidying done and some today too. Still not really tidy though!!

The challenges I am entering are:-

Simon Says Stamp Challenge:- Party.
Truly Scrumptious:- Sketch and use vellum.
Penny Black:- Happy New Year.

Think I've just got time to post this and enter the challenges and then I really need to get a move on and go out and brave the snow!!!

Another Christmas Card.

Well after wasting the entire morning, well not an entire waste. I went to Tesco briefly since my son is going to be staying for a couple of days this week again. I also went to the vet's and got worming tablets for the dogs - treat for them in a few minutes lol !! And of course I had to do the washing and get it outside.

Isn't this a great sketch from Truly Scrumptious and I even managed to do some doodling on it. I coloured the lovely winter Anya from the Greetings Farm with Promarkers. Isn't she lovely? I used some gorgeous Christmas DP from Bo Bunny - I love this paper. I decoupaged Anya's muff, earmuffs, pompoms of scarf, hem of coat and top of her boots and stickled them all too. I added some strips of ribbon and topped them with some buttons from my stash. Nearly forgot to mention that I had doodled round the image for the Truly Scrumptious challenge.

I hope you like this card and I have a few challenges to enter with it.

Truly Scrumptious:- Sketch and doodling.

A Spoon Full of Sugar:- Christmas.

Pile it on:- 3d.

Creative Card Crew:- Sparkle.

Charisma Cardz:- Decoupage.

Simon Says Stamp Challenge:- Red and green.

Anyone for Anya:- You're Anya.

I'm off to make tea now and sort out my washing to iron later (or maybe tomorrow!). See you all later if I can get time to check out some blogs.

Anything but a card.

I made this little book to have something to put a few photos of my little grand daughter in. The photos range from this one here which is less than 2 days old when she came home from hospital. This pink suit is Poppy's swimsuit and matching hat when she went on her first holiday abroad! The other one is just relaxing on her Mum's knee at home.
Poppy in her hat is again on her holidays. Poppy in bouncy chair is at Granny's house. What a lovely smile!

Poppy having a lovely bubble bath with her ducks. And a bigger girl with very red cheeks in her bath.

Bouncing Poppy with Missy her favourite Labrador in the background.

Poppy is now a big girl aged 20 months. She loves to be outside!!
I made this little book using a Funky Hands cd. I was able to print directly onto card so that saved having to cut out everything twice. I had to jiggle the letters a little bit so that I could get all five fitted together so that you could see the book says POPPY. I used ribbons, embellishments, brads and flowers from my stash.
I am not entirely happy with it but hopefully the next one I make will be better. I am going to enter it in the Truly Scrumptious challenge which is anything but a card.
Thanks for looking.

Truly Scrumptious 13

This was a really easy sketch to use from Truly Scrumptious. Not sure if I've done it justice though! I used wild asparagus from MME which is quite muted anyway so doesn't look very clear in the photos. I coloured, with Promarkers, the little girl with her cat by Diane Duda for Sugar Nellies. I think she is very cute! I layered both of the crowns and the heart on the cat's tummy. I used a glitter gel pen on their wings and stickled the flowers for a bit of bling. I don't like the way the larger of the flowers has turned out, the stickles has made it look a funny goldy colour round the edges. As usual Nesties were used and flowers and brads from my stash.
I really ought to get some housework done now. I was just about to start hoovering when a courier brought a mini sewing machine I had bought on ebay. So of course I had to unpack it and bring it up to my craft area. Then I just sat down to do a bit more of this card, which I started last night. So I finished it! Then I had to take photos and put them on my laptop. Then obviously I'd best write this post as the cut off for Truly Scrumptious is 5pm. Now where has the morning gone.....? I really am away to hoover and dust now. Honest!!
Thanks for looking,
Kat xx
P.S. I just found a message from Vicky about a new challenge blog called Crafty Cardmakers and their first challenge is flowers so I think I could enter this card for that too!

Sugar Bowl Challenge

Good morning everyone and what a beautiful morning it is here in Aberdeenshire. I have made this card, which is for my daughter's birthday, for the Sugar Bowl challenge. I have had a bit of grief with the photos. I took 2 photos but when I went to upload them to my laptop it announced that there were no new photos to upload. I checked and they had vanished from my camera!! So I took them again. This time when it was uploading the second had turned into a scene with water and hills which is not on my memory card. By this time I am getting a touch narky not to mention worried that I can't post anything if there is something wrong with my camera. Needless to say blogger wouldn't upload anything. So I deleted whatever was there and tried again. No problem this time. I uploaded the photos to the laptop and then blogger uploaded them to this post. I feel a bit twitchy now though.
I watercoloured one of my favourite images, Daisy, from Sugar Nellies. The DP is wild raspberry from K & Co and I've used ribbon from my stash. I've used my nesties as usual to cut circles and scalloped circles. I hope you can see my doodles which are a part of the challenge!
Now I need to post this card so that my daughter can have it in time for her birthday on Saturday. Then I have some more crafting to do if I want to take part in Friday Sketchers and Just Magnolia!
By the way I have won a lovely prize from the Truly Scrumptious challenge this week. Have a lovely day and hopefully I will be able to post another card later.

Truly Scrumptious.

This is the card I made for my daughter and family who are moving on Friday. I hope they like it. I used the Truly Scrumptious sketch which I love. The papers are some of my favourite MME Bloom and Grow. I watercoloured a download image that I bought from Pink Petticoat. Their downloads are lovely and I bought a few! You get a page of 5 different ones with a sentiment and another without a sentiment. I used my nesties to cut ovals for a separate sentiment and just scribbled "enjoy". I punched out flowers from matching plain green and orange and some small ones from the floral paper. I stickled the clouds and the smoke. I have added beads to the trees and for a door handle as the Truly Scrumptious challenge is a sketch plus beads. The brads and jewels are from my stash.
Juls said she doesn't know if she has a style and I'm not sure I have either. I have particular colours or even just papers that I like but I tend to try to decide if a stamp fits the papers I want to use although sometimes I set my mind on a stamp and then try to find papers that will fit the image. Sometimes the sketch you choose points you to what else you will choose to fit it. Does any of this make sense? I need to do my Sugar Bowl entry now but I am running a bit late as my daughter phoned for what they call in Aberdeenshire " a news" lol. Then I need to find something that will suit a Ruby Wedding Anniversary card. One of my crafting friends is celebrating her anniversary with a barbecue on Sunday. With the kind of weather we have had this last week or so it may have to be an indoor do! Needless to say we are missing this as we are involved in the house move.
I'll go now and make a start on my next card. I really hate full time work. I think lots of people are on holiday up here so I spend most of my day reading the papers, doing sudokus etc and thinking what I could do if I wasn't at work. At least tomorrow is a half day in the Post Office.

The Next Level and Truly Scrumptious.

I've watercoloured another Gorjuss Girl from Sugar Nellies. I love the Gorjuss Girls. I have just got the third set yesterday so now all I need is an excuse to ink them up. As if I need an excuse! The great sketch and colours are from Truly Scrumptious and I've added buttons and bows for this week's Next Level challenge. Does the flower count as bows as it is made from "bows" of ribbon!? The paper is Hint of Pink from Dovecraft - I love this paper lol. The ribbons, brad, jewels and buttons are from my stash .
Thanks for looking. Kat x

Whiff of Joy and Truly Scrumptious.

I used the sketch from the Truly Scrumptious challenge and watercoloured this lovely Whiff of Joy Image and chalked around the edge. This is probably not visible at all on the photo! The papers I used were from Cloud Nine and so is the sentiment. Flowers, brads and ribbon from my stash. I am also entering the card in the Whiff of Joy challenge which is to use three patterned papers, three flowers and one ribbon.
Thanks for looking, Kat x
