Does Oliver like chocolate.....?

Silly question! Of course Oliver likes chocolate. I decided to make a gift bag for his little Easter eggs. I made the double pocket one from Splitcoast Stampers that I've made before a few times. The little eggs fit in it very well but not the bubbles. I forgot to say yesterday that I'd bought bubbles as well as Easter eggs as Poppy loves bubbles. I'm not sure if Oliver likes blowing bubbles but I expect if Poppy likes them he will too and if not she can have them.

I couldn't really make his gift bag to match his card as the DP on his card was only 6"x6" and I needed a piece of 12"x12" for the bag so I tried to use similar colours. I did use the same image though.

I used :-
Image :- Elzybells.
Colouring :- Promarkers.
DP :- DCWV.

As you can see from the photo below Oliver's bag doesn't really match his card except for the image! I don't suppose he'll mind, he'll probably only be interested in the chocolate!

I'm going to enter the following challenges with the gift bag :-
Paperplay :- Easter.
Totally Papercrafts :- Easter.
Charisma :- Easter.
Craft Your Days Away :- Easter.

I'm really looking forward to a day off today. Monday is not my favourite day to work, not because it's Monday but just because I have to work all day! This is going to be a good week for me time....I hope! Monday off, Wednesday my half day, Thursday my day off and Saturday a day off to go to Girls Just Want to Have Fun at the Papeterie. A day of fun and crafting with Kath, Debbi and Anne. Can't wait!!

Thanks for looking and any comments you have time to leave. I'm going to craft today and hope to catch up with your blogs tonight.

What a helpful trio!

I've been a good girl this morning and did lots of housework before finishing off this card. I've made a couple of birthday cards for one of the girls at work and we also have some at work for everyone's birthday. Another of the girls asked if I'd make a New Home card for her and this is it.

I used :-
Image & Sentiment :- LOTV.
Colouring :- Promarkers.
DP :- DCWV - Linen Closet.
Card Candi :- Craftwork Cards.
Flowers :- Magnolia Doohickey die.
Lace.

I'd like to enter the following challenges :-

Crafting When We Can :- Animals.
Cupcake :- Going Dotty.

I'd best go and see if I can organise tea before I go to work.

Thanks for looking, catch up later.

The Second Birthday Card.

Hi everyone, I thought I'd just show you the other card I made for my boss's grandson. This one is from his great grandparents. Hope they like it! I used one of my favourite Penny Black stamps which I think works quite well for a wee boy's birthday card.

I used :-promarketchallenge.
Image :- Penny Black.
DP :- DCWV.
Sentiment :- Hero Arts.
Colouring :- Promarkers.
Card Candi :- Craftwork Cards.
Ribbon.

Not sure if there are any challenges for this card but if there are I'll add them later.

I found some!

Soon be the weekend and even better I have a day off on Monday as it's a local holiday. Unfortunately that's the last one till Christmas. I've still got a few days left to get from my holidays and one or two booked already. I'll probably keep some days for November as Poppy and Oliver both have birthdays in November.

Thanks for looking and I'll try to catch up with you all later. My broadband has been awful this week and I'm struggling to get my DT commenting done.

By the way is it just me but my signature seems to have vanished!? The html code is still there but it doesn't seem to be showing up on my blog. Has anyone else had this problem?

Would you believe it I've just checked this evening and it's back again! How weird is that?

Vroom, Vroom!

I've had a busy day today with cards. My friend came over this afternoon and we got some cards made for the communion tokens. I think the lady who asked if I'd make them will be surprised when she sees how many I've got ready. I still need to make some to hold 4 tokens as we've just made the single token ones so far. I would have made some tonight but I really needed to make a birthday card for my big brother. Even at my age I think of Jim and Hugh as my big brothers as they are 12 & 9 years older than me. Jim is the eldest and his birthday is on Friday so I need to post his card today!

I used :-
Image :- Hero Arts.
Sentiment & Card Candi :- Craftwork Cards.
DP :- DCWV - Linen Closet.
Buttons  and string.

Isn't this paper gorgeous and just perfect for a male card. I think the image is perfect for a male card too, especially for my brother. He's a time served motor engineer and latterly had his own business for over 30 years. Hope he likes it! I had to add the buttons after I managed to get ink on the image when I stamped the "Happy Birthday." What a clumsy idiot I am!

I'm entering the following challenges :-
Cupcake :- Sketch.
Craft Your Days Away :- Birthday.
A Spoon Full of Sugar :- Birthday.
Pile it On :- Blue, blue, blue - use 3 shades of blue.

I have to work today as my colleague is going to a funeral so it looks like I'm going to be at the last minute with my DT card for Totally Gorjuss - again!!

Thanks for looking, hope you like?

GDT card for House Mouse and Friends Monday Challenge.

Hi everyone, surprised to see me? Well not as surprised as I was when I got an email from Christine asking me to be a GDT at House Mouse. I was pretty excited and I didn't even hesitate before saying yes please. The challenge this week is "Make a Splash." We'd like to see water somewhere on your card.

I had a good look through my House Mouse stamps and this is what I came up with using my favourite colour.

I used :-
Image :- House Mouse - Relaxing Bubbles.
Colouring :- Promarkers.
DP :- DCWV.
Card Candy :- Craftwork Cards.
Flower :- Wild Orchid Crafts.
Sentiment :- Penny Black.
Nesties, Tag punch, jewels, ribbon and Glamour Dust.

I think this card fits the following challenges :-

Thanks for looking and I hope you have a minute to tell me what you think.

Totally Gorjuss 85 - Pearls and Swirls.

Good morning everyone it's Saturday again and time for a lovely new challenge at Totally Gorjuss. We had lots of gorgeous entries last week, you all love your flowers don't you? Pop over to the blog to see who won if you haven't done so already. You can also check out my talented teamies cards for this week's challenge. I think you'll like our challenge this week. It's a really easy one again this time, pearls and swirls. How easy is that!?

I used :-
Image :- LOTV.
DP :- DCWV.
Sentiment :- Craftwork Cards.
Pearls :- Hobby House.
Swirl :- Cottage Cutz.
Punch :- Martha Stewart.
String, Glamour Dust and Sakura clear glitter gel pen.

I used the sketch from Truly Scrumptious so I'm entering their challenge.

I'm quite pleased with this card as I didn't have much time to make it. I've no idea what happened to the time this week. I seemed to have even less of it than usual! To crown it all when I was trying to schedule this post last night after my WRI car treasure hunt it refused to save and kept saying there was a mistake keeping it from saving. So I gave up in disgust. I checked the html and I couldn't find what the problem was! Does anyone else ever have this problem or is it just me?

Anyway I'd best get this scheduled now and go and have a shower and get to work. I've got a crop this afternoon so I'll catch up with you all later.

Thanks for looking and for any comments you might have time to leave. I really enjoy hearing what you think of my cards.

Totally Gorjuss 77 - Bling It.

Good morning everyone and I hope you're all set for a lovely Easter weekend. Unfortunately I don't have any days off  just now as we have a local holiday at the beginning of April. Still I have a day off for the Royal Wedding and then the May Day bank holiday so that'll be good, more time to craft. Today I'm going to a crop after work. I think we usually do as much chatting as working but it's nice to meet up with the others. I also heard that there's some nice new goodies so a nice browse around seems to be in order.

Today it's time for our latest challenge at Totally Gorjuss. This week our challenge is "bling it!" We'd like you to add lots of lovely sparkle to your card or project. We're sponsored by Whoopsi Daisy and Linnie has generously given all the DT their own choice of digi images to use. Thanks Linnie. My teamies have all used really pretty images and made some fabby cards. The ones I chose (4 on a sheet) are really easy to colour and ideal for a new baby card or a child's birthday card.

These images are so easy to use that I ended up using two of them and made a boy card and a girl card!

More Get Well Cards.

Good morning everyone, hope you're all having a good weekend. Yesterday I went to a crop at my local craft shop and managed to make 2 cards. I made Get Well cards as I think they're handy to have. Last week I made one for Poppy so I thought I'd best have a boy one handy in case Oliver comes down with chickenpox too!

So here's my first card. I love House Mouse and isn't this a cute image? I can't help feeling this card's a bit bare looking but if I use it for my wee grandson I don't really want to put flowers on it!

I used :-
Image :- House Mouse.
Sentiment :- Hero Arts.
Colouring :- Promarkers.
DP :- DCWV.
Card Candy :- Craftwork Cards.

I'm going to enter the following challenges with this card :-
Passion for Promarkers:- One for the boys.
House Mouse :- Favourite stamp - love them all but I really love this one for Get Well cards!

My second card is girly with it's pink colour scheme and ribbon and flowers.

I used :-
Image :- LOTV.
DP :- Wild Rose Studio.
Sentiment :- Printworks.
Colouring :- Promarkers.
Ribbon :- Ribbon Girl.
Flowers :- Prima.
Pearls :- Hobby House.
Jewel brads & pink metal embellies from stash.
Sakura clear gel pen one shoes and glitter round image.

I'm entering the following challenges with this card :-
Lili of the Valley :- Circles.
Cute Card Thursday :- Sketch.
Stamp Something :- Something with flowers.
Dream Valley Challenges :- Anything Goes.

Hope you like and can find time to tell me what you can think.

Not sure if I'll be doing much next week as I have to work every day! My colleague's daughter gets married next Friday so she's having a week off. I've been so looking forward to this.....not! So the first time I get a day off is 10th March. What makes it worse is next Sunday a crowd of us are going to the craft show at the SECC next Sunday and I usually take the day off on the Monday. Obviously not this year. I'm going to be shattered on the Monday and probably crabbit (translation - bad tempered) too.

Thanks for looking and enjoy what's left of the weekend.

Totally Gorjuss 66 - Sketch.

Good morning everyone and it's time for another challenge at Totally Gorjuss.  But first of all thanks to everyone who joined us last week. We had an amazing number of entries! Don't forget to pop over to the Totally Gorjuss blog to see who won. This week Net has done a lovely sketch for you to follow. Feel free to flip it if you need to. I did! This week we are sponsored by the ever generous Joanna Sheen. Just think what you could get from her online shop and no p&p either.

So here's my card.

I've used :-
Image :- House Mouse.
Colouring :- Aquamarkers and watercolour pencils.
DP :- DCWV.
Pearls :- Hobby House.
Martha Stewart punch, ribbon Sizzix die cut hearts & nesties.

I'd like to enter :-
the House Mouse challenge - hearts.
ABC :- N is for nesties. I haven't used the sketch.
Sir Stampalot :- All Creatures Great and Small.

I hope you can find time to join us. Net has given us a lovely clear, easy to use sketch. I enjoyed using it so why don't you have a go too. My teamies have made some lovely cards too so I hope you can find time to visit them too. We'd all appreciate it if you have  minute to leave us a comment.

Thanks for looking and enjoy your weekend.

Totally Gorjuss 62 - Sketch.

Hi everyone and after a couple of weeks not knowing what day of the week it is now I know it is Saturday  and time for our first challenge of 2011 over at Totally Gorjuss.

As this is our first January challenge Net has given us a lovely sketch to follow this week and we are sponsored by the ever generous Joanna Sheen. What would you spend £10 on in Joanna's online store? Why don't you pop over to her store for a look? You won't be disappointed as she has a varied stock and best of all no p&p.

So here's my take on Net's sketch. I needed a card for a special lady so this sketch was ideal. Dolly is the most senior member of our WRI. She will be 80 later this month and has been a member since she was  a teenager. She has been president for many years and latterly vice-president. She is very talented at baking, cooking, growing bulbs and flowers and also at various handcrafts. Since I'm the one who usually makes cards for competitions I said I would make her birthday card. Hope she  likes it. I'm sure she'll be interested to know how I made it!

Not sure if this next photo shows that I 3D'd the flowers?

Maybe you can see the 3D effect on this one?

I used :-
Image :- Hero Arts.
Sentiment :- LOTV.
DP :- DCWV.
Embossing folders :- Cuttlebug.
Lace, ribbon and jewels from stash.
Distress Ink in Dusty Concord round edges and glitter.

Hope you like and I hope you want to join us this week. Seems like a while since our last challenge and thanks to everyone who joined us at such a busy time of year. Remember to pop over to Totally Gorjuss to see who won last time.

I'd like to enter the following challenges :-
Papertake Weekly :- Anything Goes.
One Stitch at a Time :- Anything Goes.
By the Cute and Girly :- Bling it on.

Thanks for looking and if you want more inspiration my talented teamies have some lovely cards to show you this week.

Spotlight on Spotlights!

Hello everyone and if you're reading this on Monday afternoon that means that Mr Blogger has been kind and posted this for me as I'm at work all day on a Monday.

This week at Crafty Cardmakers our spotlight challenge is "spotlights." We would like you to spotlight one or more parts of your card. I've chosen to colour only one part of my card but you could also colour your image leaving part of it uncoloured. If you check out the challenge blog you'll find that the DT have used both methods. If you have time to pop over there I think you'll find lots to inspire you.

Last week's challenge was "birthdays" so if you make a birthday spotlight card you could enter it in both challenges as the birthday challenge doesn't finish till next week!

To make my card I used a black deckle edged card covered with lovely spotty paper from DCWV. The gorgeous Penny Black image and the script paper from MME are edged with Black Soot Distress Ink and so is the sentiment from Craftwork cards. The image was stamped twice with Memento ink in Tuxedo Black. One flower and a black circle was cut out with Nesties and the single flower was coloured with Promarkers and black Stickles added to the centre. The flower was mounted on the black card circle and stuck onto the main image to give a spotlight effect. The card was finished with card candy from Craftwork Cards and some ribbon and jewels.

This card is quite simple and was really quick to make. I like this technique and I'll certainly use it again. I think it's quite effective! If you have time to leave me a comment I'd be really pleased as I'm always encouraged by your feedback. I'm sure my talented teamies would like to hear what you think too.

I've used the sketch from Friday Sketchers so I'd like to enter their challenge with this card. And Pile it On want to see at least three different shapes on your card.

I think that's it then. Thanks to everyone who's entered our challenges in the last couple of weeks and I'm looking forward to seeing how you interpret our "spotlight" challenge.

Just in Time!

I hope I'm just in time! After messing about most of the day and only making one card I made this one in no time (for me) last night. I didn't want to take a photo last night so I left it till this morning and now I'm wishing I had done it sooner. I want to enter the Passion for Promarkers challenge. I want to enter some other challenges so I'll stop waffling and come back and do the rest of the post later.

I used :-
Image :- House Mouse - isn't this Bedtime Story Gruffy really sweet? I think he might be asleep!
DP :- DCWV, Doodlebug Designs and Peppercorn.
Colouring :- Promarkers.
Card Candy :- Craftwork Cards.
Flowers and ribbon from stash.
Challenges I'm going to enter :-
Crafty Creations :-Black and white with a splash of red.
Friday Sketchers :- Sketch.
Create4Fun :- Black and white and one other colour.
I'm a bit disappointed with this photo. In real life and on my camera this is really black and white not as grey as it looks here!
I'm off now to PfP before it's too late!!

Totally Gorjuss 30 Round and Round!

Hi everyone. Hopefully Mr Blogger will post this for me at 8am as I need to go to work this morning. I must apologise for the quality of this photo as I had to make my DT card for Totally Gorjuss and take the photo on Friday evening.

I had been hoping to make a card in the morning but my fourteen and a half year old Cocker Spaniel was not very good. She hasn't been that good for a while and of course we've been postponing the inevitable! She barked for about half the morning and nothing seemed to help. Eventually she went to sleep for a while but woke up again just before my daughter set off with my other daughter's dog. They were coming back from their holidays and picking up Missy at Aberdeen. Just after they left she suddenly threw up on the doormat. Lovely! I only had time to throw the mat outside and go to work. When I came home she didn't even wake up. When my husband phoned from work he said to phone the vet and see when she could go in. They said she could go in first thing tomorrow so he will take her before work. I can't go with her because the first appointment is 9am and that's when I start work. She's going on what my son calls "the one way ticket!" Sound callous but all three of them are really fond of her. We have had her for over 14 years and she's been a great wee dog. She absolutely loves people and she was a pretty wee blue roan doggie. Now she is blind, deaf, shaky on her legs and just a bundle of bones. Still has a great appetite though LOL!

Sorry to go on! Now about the card. It was made rather quickly and I hope I haven't held Net up too much as she is the one who puts the challenge post together. This week we would like to see circles on your cards. You could make a round card, stamp your image on a round piece of card, use spotty paper or ribbon (I've got tiny little spots on my ribbon) the choice is yours.

I used :-
Image :- Princess Tilda.
DP :- DVWV Nana's Nursery.
Flowers :- Prima.
Sentiment :- Craftwork Cards.
Colouring :- Promarkers, Spica glitter gel pen and Sakura clear glitter gel pen and clear gel pen.
Jewels :- Basic Grey.
Raffia lace from Quixotic Paperie.
Nesties, stickles and clear gem brad.
As well as my DT card I'm going to enter some challenges :-
Sketch and Stash :- Sketch and neglected Basic Grey Jewels and new Prima flowers.
One Stitch at a Time :- Going Dotty.
Papertake Weekly :- Shiny, sparkly and special.
Stamp Something :- Celebrate something.
Just Magnolia :- One for the girls.
ABC :- Unused stash - Basic Grey jewels.
Well that's me for now. I hope you can find time to visit Totally Gorjuss and see what my talented teamies have made. If you've got a minute to let us know what you think we'd be delighted. As usual there will be a lovely prize for one lucky random winner. I'm looking forward to seeing how you interpret our challenge.
Enjoy your weekend,
Kat xx

Just Cute Bears 13 - One for the Boys.

Good morning everyone and here we are with another Just Cute Bears challenge. This week we would like to see "One for the Boys." Kim at Cuddly Buddly is generously sponsoring us again and this is the little cutie that the winner will receive. Isn't he sweet?

I'm not quite sure about my DT card. I think maybe it looks a bit busy...what do you think? The colours are a bit stronger than this in real life. I did take the picture outside but it was about 7pm!

Image :- Elzybells.
DP :- DCWV (I think).
Colouring :- Promarkers.
Nesties.
Ribbons and string from my stash.
I was going to make a card for my nephew's 18th birthday which is next Friday but I changed my mind as I'm going to decoupage a Gruffies image and I thought this would be quicker to make.
I hope you can find time to enter our challenge. I think most people find male cards difficult to make, I know I do and I have a husband, son, son-in-law, three teenage nephews and now a grandsonto make cards for. Probably cards for little boys are easier than most male cards. Looking forward to seeing what you've made this week.
Enjoy the rest of your weekend,
Kat xx
