Looks like present time.....

Wonder what's in those interesting parcels?

Amazing my second post today. You can find my DT card for Totally Gorjuss here. I'm still in Christmas card mode as you can see and I couldn't resist this cute LOTV die cut image. Not to mention the gorgeous paper also from LOTV.

I used :-
Image and DP :- LOTV die cut.
Sentiment and candi :- Craftwork cards.
Icicle border and snowflakes :- Martha Stewart punches.
Glamour Dust and Sakura clear glitter gel pen.

I'm entering the following challenges :-
Pile it on :- Make it Sparkle.
Paperplay :- Snowflakes.
Charisma :- Feeling Blue.

I'm off now to see if I can get some more Christmas cards organised since I've still got a lot to do and even two weeks later I still haven't managed to do much with the new goodies I bought at the SECC.

Thanks for looking and I really like to read what you think of my cards if you have time to leave me a comment. I also like to visit other blogs so don't be shy, tell me what you think and I'll come and visit you too.

Enjoy your weekend. And if you're going to the NEC don't spend too much lol!!!

Please don't "Let it Snow"

Apologies to everyone who likes snow but if you lived where I do you wouldn't want it to snow either. We haven't had much snow but it's been very cold and icy. I live in the country and even though we aren't far from the main Aberdeen to Peterhead road, which usually gets pretty well cleared, our road is narrow and winding and tends to drift badly.

I couldn't resist using another lovely Penny Black image for this card!

I used :-
Image :- Penny Black.
Sentiment and Card Candi :- Craftwork Cards.
Colouring :- Promarkers.
Cuttlebug embossing folders.
Ribbon and Glamour Dust.

I'm entering the following challenges :-
Totally Papercrafts :- Let it Snow.
Pile it On :- Bling it up.
The Pink Elephant :- Snowflakes and Sparkle.

I'm glad today's my half day at work. Things are getting quite busy in the Post Office now. I've been getting lots of airmails and parcels. So I'm tending to get little blue airmail stickers in front of my eyes. Quite a lot of UK parcels between ebay and Christmas. I think some people are posting quite early this year after the weather being so bad in December last year.

Thanks for looking and I hope it's not too cold as I'm getting my hair cut after work. Catch you all later.

Totally Gorjuss 98 - Nothing Square About Me.

Good morning everyone. At least I hope Mr Blogger has been kind and posted this for me on Saturday morning. I'm going to a wedding today so I won't be able to check until Sunday! So fingers crossed lol.

This week at Totally Gorjuss our theme is "nothing square about me." Yes that's right we'd like to see you making some differently shaped cards. It's nice to have a change instead of automatically making a square card. I know I rarely make anything other than a square card so I enjoyed making this little card. I made a "New Home" card for a lovely blogging friend so I hope she's received it before she sees it here lol!

I used :-
Image :- Hero Arts.
Sentiment :- Inca stamps.
DP :- First Edition - Hideaway.
Colouring :- Promarkers.
Nesties, ribbon & tag punch.

I'm hoping to enter the following challenges :-
One Stitch at a Time :- Punch it.
Creative Inspirations Wednesday Challenge Blog :- Anything Goes.
Pile it On :- layer it.
Cute Card Thursday :- Anything Goes.
Paperplay :- Punches & Dies.

A couple of these challenges are Sunday ones so I hope I can enter them before I leave for the wedding. We're sponsored by Simon Says Stamp this week so I hope you can join us for this nice easy challenge. My lovely teamies have some gorgeous cards to inspire you so don't forget to pop over to Totally Gorjuss to see their lovely work.

I'm babysitting on Sunday but I hope I can find some time to catch up with your entries as well as my favourite blogs.

Enjoy your weekend whatever you're doing and please cross your fingers for good weather where I'm going today. Thanks for looking.

Vroom, Vroom!

I've had a busy day today with cards. My friend came over this afternoon and we got some cards made for the communion tokens. I think the lady who asked if I'd make them will be surprised when she sees how many I've got ready. I still need to make some to hold 4 tokens as we've just made the single token ones so far. I would have made some tonight but I really needed to make a birthday card for my big brother. Even at my age I think of Jim and Hugh as my big brothers as they are 12 & 9 years older than me. Jim is the eldest and his birthday is on Friday so I need to post his card today!

I used :-
Image :- Hero Arts.
Sentiment & Card Candi :- Craftwork Cards.
DP :- DCWV - Linen Closet.
Buttons  and string.

Isn't this paper gorgeous and just perfect for a male card. I think the image is perfect for a male card too, especially for my brother. He's a time served motor engineer and latterly had his own business for over 30 years. Hope he likes it! I had to add the buttons after I managed to get ink on the image when I stamped the "Happy Birthday." What a clumsy idiot I am!

I'm entering the following challenges :-
Cupcake :- Sketch.
Craft Your Days Away :- Birthday.
A Spoon Full of Sugar :- Birthday.
Pile it On :- Blue, blue, blue - use 3 shades of blue.

I have to work today as my colleague is going to a funeral so it looks like I'm going to be at the last minute with my DT card for Totally Gorjuss - again!!

Thanks for looking, hope you like?

GDT card for House Mouse and Friends Monday Challenge.

Hi everyone, surprised to see me? Well not as surprised as I was when I got an email from Christine asking me to be a GDT at House Mouse. I was pretty excited and I didn't even hesitate before saying yes please. The challenge this week is "Make a Splash." We'd like to see water somewhere on your card.

I had a good look through my House Mouse stamps and this is what I came up with using my favourite colour.

I used :-
Image :- House Mouse - Relaxing Bubbles.
Colouring :- Promarkers.
DP :- DCWV.
Card Candy :- Craftwork Cards.
Flower :- Wild Orchid Crafts.
Sentiment :- Penny Black.
Nesties, Tag punch, jewels, ribbon and Glamour Dust.

I think this card fits the following challenges :-
Pile it On :- Time to Relax.
Oldie but a Goodie :- Anything Goes.
Simon Says Stamp challenge :- Lemon and Lavender. (Thanks Lols.)

If you haven't been over to the House Mouse challenge blog do try to pop over to see the wonderful cards the DT have made to inspire you. They're all really talented and you won't be disappointed.

I've been quite naughty since I got Christine's invitation to join them this month as GDT! I went to Windrush Cards and Crafts and bought some new House Mouse stamps that I've been wanting for a while. Well I have worked full time for 2 weeks so I deserve a treat lol!

Thanks for looking and I hope you have a minute to tell me what you think.

Blue Christmas.

Hi girls, I started making a card this afternoon but didn't make much progress before tea - thanks Tesco!

By the time I got back to it I realised that it was too late for the Colour Create challenge which is for blue, silver and white this time. Not to worry it is always another Christmas card.

I followe the fabby sketch from Friday Sketchers. The lovely Anya image is coloured with Promarkers and stickles used on her muff, edge of coat, boots and scarf. The sentiment and the image are both edged with silver. The sentiment is from Craftwork Cards.

Other challenges:-

Paperplay 2 papers, 1 ribbon and 3 buttons.
Anyone for Anya something round - buttons.
Pile it on 3 flowers and 5 pearls.
Creative Card Crew strings attached -silver thread with charm.
Secret Crafter seasons - Winter.

Hope I've got these right! Let me know what you think, if you've got time to leave a comment I can pop over to your blog and see what you've been doing.

Halloween!!!

Yes I know I promised that I was finished posting for today but this is just a little fun card I made this evening. I really have to post a better photo in the morning...but can I please assure you that the colours are black, orange, purple and white. No matter what I try the purple is determined to look blue!

I've used the sketch from Aly's Sunday Challenge. Aly is a very talented stamper and she is only 10 years old. Pop over to her blog and you will see her amazing work.
The challenge over at Pile it on is to use Aly's sketch so I can enter it too.
There are some Halloween challenges around so I am entering them too. They are:-
Simon Says Stamp Challenge.
Allsorts challenge.
A Spoon Full of Sugar challenge
The Pink Elephant challenge. Halloween using the colours black, orange purple and white.

The DP is MME and I've coloured this lovely Tilda with Pumpkin with Promarkers. Nesties were used to cut the shapes and the flowers were cut using a Martha Stewart punch. I finished off with ribbon, jewels and brads from my stash.

I am off to iron now as it is Sunday night again already and I work all day tomorrow - yuk. I have had two Saturdays and Mondays off in a row so now I need to work two Mondays before I have the Monday off after the craft show in Glasgow. Hope the time passes quickly - think I will take the Sunday paper with me.

Not sure what use a Halloween card is to me but I can't resist a challenge lol!

Another Christmas Card.

Well after wasting the entire morning, well not an entire waste. I went to Tesco briefly since my son is going to be staying for a couple of days this week again. I also went to the vet's and got worming tablets for the dogs - treat for them in a few minutes lol !! And of course I had to do the washing and get it outside.

Isn't this a great sketch from Truly Scrumptious and I even managed to do some doodling on it. I coloured the lovely winter Anya from the Greetings Farm with Promarkers. Isn't she lovely? I used some gorgeous Christmas DP from Bo Bunny - I love this paper. I decoupaged Anya's muff, earmuffs, pompoms of scarf, hem of coat and top of her boots and stickled them all too. I added some strips of ribbon and topped them with some buttons from my stash. Nearly forgot to mention that I had doodled round the image for the Truly Scrumptious challenge.

I hope you like this card and I have a few challenges to enter with it.

Truly Scrumptious:- Sketch and doodling.

A Spoon Full of Sugar:- Christmas.

Pile it on:- 3d.

Creative Card Crew:- Sparkle.

Charisma Cardz:- Decoupage.

Simon Says Stamp Challenge:- Red and green.

Anyone for Anya:- You're Anya.

I'm off to make tea now and sort out my washing to iron later (or maybe tomorrow!). See you all later if I can get time to check out some blogs.

Ten Challenges

Good morning girls and what a lovely morning it is. I have been a good girl today, I have hoovered and dusted and watered plants before I finished this card. I didn't get it finished yesterday before I went out for the evening because I managed to cut my finger while I was making tea. I really did have a clumsy day yesterday lol!!
Anyway I am hoping that this card fits no fewer than 10 challenges. I think I have gone a bit over the top with this one lol!! We are going to visit our daughter tomorrow and I am going to a Stampin Up party this evening so I need to think ahead.
I made this card using the lovely sketch from Sketch Saturday. I watercoloured this cute image from Penny Black. My DP is from Basic grey and I embossed the plain pink with my Cuttlebug swiss dots folder. I used a punch to cut out the little hearts and the tag is from a punch too. The ribbon and eyelets are from my stash. I couldn't find a suitable stamp to fit the theme (and the tag) so I used some black peeloffs - knew they would come in useful eventually!

The challenges I hope to enter are:-

Penny Black Saturday Challenge:- Chocolate, lemon and pink.

Sketch Saturday:- Sketch.

Secret Crafter:- Animal antics.

Die Cut Dreams:- Ribbon and trims.

Pile it on:- Let them eat cake.

Whimsy:- Eyelets.

The Pink Elephant:- Dots, punch, tag.

Creative Inspirations Wednesday Challenge:- Letters/numbers.

Cute Card Thursday:-First birthday.

ABC:- E for embossing.

Wow I'm tired just listing them LOL!! You probably all think I'm nuts now but some of these are challenges I always try to enter and some are ones I enter sometimes if I fancy them so I saw them while I was browsing blogs. Just humour me......!

I'm off now to be a good girl and clean the bathroom, make the tea, have my lunch and go to work.

Not sure how I am going to cope with no internet for a couple of days but I dare say Poppy will keep me busy. She is turning into a real little chatterbox now and always busy. Her mum starts her maternity leave on Tuesday so I think she is not going to have a quiet time before the baby comes lol!!

I'll maybe get a chance to check out some blogs later if I'm not home too late. Have a nice weekend girls, I'm hoping to check out Stampaholics in Perth on my way to Crieff tomorrow. I've heard that it's a really good shop.

Soon be the Weekend!

I've been naughty again! After I fed and walked the dogs and hung out my washing I've been making this card. My excuse is that I'm working this afternoon and when I come home from work it will be too late and this card fits 4 Saturday challenges.

I used this great sketch from Sketch Saturday. It was really easy to use - even for me! I've used the lovely lemonade papers from Basic Grey and for the other part of their challenge I put some of the dark pink through the bug in the divine swirls folder. I used nesties to cut out the ovals, coloured one of my new Penny Black stamps with Promarkers and used a Sakura clear gel glitter pen on the hearts. The Pile it on challenge wants flowers so I punched out some with my EK Success punches and finished them off with stick on pearls. To complete the Penny Black challenge I add a piece of paper lace and buttons from my stash for the Whimsy challenge. The edges of the background paper have been distressed with Distress Inks for the http://cupcakecraftchallenges.blogspot.com/. I added faux stitching for the Simon Says Stamp challenge. And it looks like a girl's card so I can enter the Secret Crafter Saturday challenge. If I can get round to decorating the inside I could also enter the Creative Card Crew challenge too.

Just another view of the card to show that I put the image up on sticky pads to give a bit of dimension.

Not sure what work will be like this afternoon.....! My colleague just phoned to say that the printer wasn't working and the engineer had until Monday to come out to fix it!!! There are so many things you can't do in the Post Office if you don't have a printer. I guess I could have a quiet afternoon if the engineer doesn't appear lol!! I should be so lucky. Good thing it's Friday and not Monday or we would be really popular. On the bright side I am off tomorrow and I'm going to a crop at my local craft shop and I'm also off on Monday - just because I want a day off.

So I'm off to post this now and see if I can do some housework before I leave for work.

Hope you like and please let me know what you think if you have a minute to spare.

Kat x

It is now Sunday and guess who forgot to post a photo of the inside of the card!!! I'm probably too late now but here it is anyway. I'm never sure what to do with insides. Some are easier than others - can be difficult if you have a 6x6 pad and only two sheets of each paper. Never mind her it is.

Halloween....

Well this is something I have never done before! This is the first time I have ever made a Halloween card. Not sure how I came to decide on a Halloween card but here it is. I think it may have been because I wanted to take part in the white, black and one other colour from Pile it On and Pollycraft. I also wanted to do the Just Magnolia challenge and Halloween seemed the only theme that fitted. I don't usually think of Tilda in terms of black and white but I thought one of the Halloween Tilda's would fit the bill.
I used the great sketch from Creative Inspirations and coloured this lovely Tilda with her spider's web and broomstick with my Promarkers. I used the lovely Halloween papers from MME. The black paper says "BOO"!! I also used some Core dinations whitewash paper which I put through the Cuttlebug in the divine swirls folder and then sanded to show the underlying green it has also been distressed and inked with black and matted onto black. The black "BOO" paper is matted onto green which has been distressed and inked with black. The image has been edged with lime green Promarker (which unfortunately looks a bit yellow) and then inked with black as has the sentiment. I added some leaves that I cut out with a Martha Stewart punch. The green ric rac, green pearls, cat charm and eyelets are from my stash.

The challenges I am entering are:-

Creative Inspirations Wednesday Challenge:- Sketch plus brads or eyelets.
Colour Create:- Neon green and black plus leaves and charms.
Just Magnolia 22:- Embossing.
Cupcake Craft Challenge:- Pearls and Swirls.
Pile it On:- White, black and one colour.
Pollycraft Challenge:- Black, white and one colour.

I've just realised I will need to take another photo of this card in the morning as there is something missing lol!! Trust me, I'm to busy thinking I need to get this posted to enter Creative Inspirations challenge before it is too late and then get my Tesco order finshed for tomorrow. I also have a card to finish before I go to my friend's house with it tomorrow. It would be finished but she decided to stamp a greeting inside and I made a mess of it so now I need to decorate the inside so as to hide the mess. In spite of the fact that rock a blocks are supposed to make a perfect image I can usually make a mess with them.

I'd best go now and do the things I really need to and maybe I'll be back tomorrow with something else. With my track record with photos I may not be back till Thursday!!!

Wednesday evening - I've changed the photos now.

Pile it On etc and Sugar Bowl 18.

Good morning everyone. What a miserable day it is here after a lovely day yesterday. Great for crafting but not so great for taking photos!! The first card is one I made yesterday for a few challenges. I used the lovely sketch from Simon Says Stamp and used Promarkers to colour this lugubrious looking dog from Funstamps. Isn't he cute? The papers are from Prima and I think they are just right for a male card. I sewed around all the edges again - really getting into this sewing on cards lol. I cut ovals with my nesties and embossed the one behind the image with a Cuttlebug Script folder. The square metal brads, buttons and ribbon are from my stash.

The challenges I hope to enter are:-

Pile it on:- Birthday.
Allsorts 17:- Something for the boys.
Busy Becs Creatalicious Challenges:- For Dad plus brown and metal.
Simon Says Stamp:- Sketch.
Paper Maniac Challenges:- Embossing.
Creative Inspirations Wednesday Challenge:- Blue and brown.
Whimsy 18:- Sewing.

Then this morning I realised that I had to do the Sugar Bowl challenge now or I would not have time to do it at all lol. I was dying to use my new MME Colourful Christmas papers. They are gorgeous, lovely and bright. I'm not sure if this card's too busy lol!! I coloured the lovely Honey with Gifts from Sugar Nellies with Distress inks and also used them to ink all the edges. I got a parcel of goodies I had ordered from Elaine at Quixotic yesterday so I decided to use my new jute ribbon. I also got a parcel from Crafts U Love so I had to use my new Martha Stewart punches to make the flowers. The blue ribbon and buttons are from my stash.

Please tell me what you think girls - is it too busy? I was going to use the other side of the stripey paper which is blue with swirly doodley lines but it just didn't work the stripey side seemed to work better. (To me) In the same way the other side of the orange with coloured dots is much quieter and it didn't seem to work either!!

Well I should have my lunch now and get ready for work. tomorrow is balance day in the Post Office and I like to get organised for it on a Tuesday afternoon. Maybe I'll have time to check out some blogs this evening - hope so!

Some More Challenges.

Good afternoon girls, I have been very naughty this morning. I only meant to sit down for a wee while and think about what I was going to do for this week's Whiff of Joy challenge and look at the time now!! I had a few ideas about what other challenges I could fit in. But it kind of snowballed. Now I have no housework done and I need to go to work at 1.45.

Well as I said this is for the Whiff of Joy challenge and I used the lovely sketch from Friday Sketchers and their optional colours blue and orange. Now orange is definitely not my colour but I thought I would give it a go anyway and see what happened! The sweet image is coloured with Promarkers and i went over the flowers in her hand and hair with a Sakura glitter gel pen. Probably not obvious. Not obvious either but the pale blue ribbon is very shimmery and gorgeous. Nesties were used as usual and the jewels, ribbon and buttons are from my stash. The plain blue
Not sure that the next piccie adds anything but it does show you my wonky sewing. I added stitching for the La La Lands Wednesday blog which I discovered has already closed - on Sunday 30th!! Guess I missed it then. Never mind I think the card still fits a few challenges lol.

So I think this card fits the following challenges:-
Friday Sketchers:- sketch plus blue and orange.
Whiff of Joy:- bling.
Crafty Cardmakers:- complementary colours - blue and orange.
Passion for Promarkers:- any colours and girly and glittery.
Cupcake Craft:- 3 buttons, 2 papers and 1 ribbon.
Whimsy:- touchy feely - bling, buttons and ribbon.
Pile it on:- round -buttons, DP and swiss dots.
365 cards:- 3 shades of blue.
I'm just about breathless after listin all those challenges!!!
Best go and post this now and see if I can have some lunch before I go to work. Hope you enjoy the rest of what is a lovely day here. Much nicer than yesterday when some people round here had a day off for the Bank Holiday.
Maybe see you later and please let me know what you think of this card or any other one that you may like (or otherwise).

More challenges.

I made this yesterday evening but with my track record with evening photos I did not even try to take a photo. Unfortunately this morning was a bit dull. I got a photo which was ok-ish then before tea I tried again and got this one. I spent the afternoon at a friend's house with 3 others making cards to sell at our church to raise fund for Ekwendeni hospital in Malawi. With several other churches in the Buchan (north-east Aberdeenshire) area we used to have a missionary partner. We still try to raise funds and send things out to them because it is an area of terrible poverty. Not sure if anyone will want to buy my cards or not. I think I will have to keep them very simple cos people will not pay for them otherwise. We were just saying that this afternoon. People will go into a shop and pay £s for a card but don't expect them to pay much for a special handmade one!!

Enough of me waffling. This card should fit these challenges:-
Allsorts:- sketch and torn.
Basic Grey:- Basic Grey papers and colours brown, yellow and pink.
La La Land:- Stitching - in this case faux.
Pile it on:- 3s. In this card- 3 brads, 3 buttons and 3 jewels.
Whismsy:- sparkle -the flower has been glittered with a Sakura glitter gel pen and there are some jewels including one in her hair!

The image is a Gorjuss Girl from Sugar Nellies and she has been coloured with Promarkers. The rectangles have been cut out with nesties. Flower, buttons, brads, jewels and ric rac from my stash.

I think this card turned out better than I expected. This does not mean I think it is good! Just that it is not as bad as it might have been lol.

In the mail today I got a gift voucher! On Monday I won a £10 gift voucher from Joanna Sheen in the first Crafty Cardmakers challenge. So thank you very much to Crafty Cardmakers and Joanna Sheen for this generous prize. I just expected to get an email with a code to use. But no I got a handmade card in a matching lined envelope with instructions inside how to use it and the code to use at the checkout. I'm impressed. I love Joanna's web shop. Prices and service are second to none and there is no p&p. There is a really good deal on Promarkers - that's where I got mine!

Another website I can thoroughly recommend is Craft Obsessions I ordered some gorgeous new Christmas goodies from Bo Bunny from them on Sunday evening and they arrived on Tuesday. How good is that? I was well impressed.

I'm off now to post my entries and see what I'll do tomorrow on my day off. Really looking forward to going to our new local craft shop on Saturday. My friend and I are going when I finish work at 12.30. Can't wait to see what lovely new goodies they have lol.

Thanks for looking and leaving lovely comments on my little efforts.

Lots of Challenges....

This is a quick card I made today for the Papertake Weekly challenge. I used my Promarkers to colour the cute Whiff of Joy bear image. The papers are some of my favourites from MME. As usual my nesties were used to cut out the squares and rectangles. Ribbon is from my stash.
I made this yesterday evening and ended up doing my ironing very very late. I think it will fit sevenchallenges!! I coloured the lovely Edwin image from Magnolia with my Promarkers. The background paper is from Basic Grey cupcake pad. Other papers just scraps from my stash. Suit edged with silver Promarker and one set of jewels coloured with silver Promarker too.
I think it fits:-
Pile it On - Boy.
Colour Create - Blue, sand, black and silver -silver jewels and edges of suit.
Cute Card Thursday - At the beach.
Spoon Full of Sugar - Sketch.
Just Magnolia - Friendship.
Secret Crafter - Fancy corners. ( Not that fancy since it is a boy card.)
Stamp Something -something from summer vacation.
I might be pushing my luck with some of this but there is silver if you look closely and I have added corners!!
Thanks for looking and please feel free to tell me what you think.
