Hi everyone, well I said yesterday that I had some news. Vix asked me to join the DT over at Crafty Cardmakers. I had to think carefully......for about 2 seconds before saying "yes please". I'm looking forward to working with the very talented girls on the present team and also the other new girls. I think it will be fun. I'll be joining in with the next challenge which starts on 12th July so I'll be quite busy by then.

Mojo Monday 144

Hello again girls. I'm amazed to find myself posting for the second time today! So if you want to see my DT card for Just Cute Bears please scroll down. It's been a long time since I managed more than about 2 posts in a week. Funnily enough like my DT card for Just Cute Bears it's not exactly what I meant to make lol!

I used :-
Image :- Penny Black 4037K mixed media.
DP :- Wild Rose Studio Milton & Co and the spotty one is a scrap of Basic Grey.
Colouring :- Promarkers and Distress Inks.
Lace, flower, button, ribbon and pearls from stash. (pearls coloured with Promarkers)
Stickles in centre of poppies.
I've been keeping in mind what Kath said when she was doing her demo day at Simply Create at Alford about inking your edges and I've been trying to be better about doing just that!
I'm entering the Mojo Monday challenge with this card. I love this sketch it was so nice and easy to use. I think it also fits the Magical Crafts challenge which is for flowers.
It's been a fantastic day here today and I have been inside all day apart from hanging out my washing so maybe I'll treat myself and go outside and bring it back in again before I make tea.
Enjoy what's left of the weekend.

Just Cute Bears 23.

Hello everyone is it Sunday already? Why does the weekend seem to go so quickly? Time for another challenge at Just Cute Bears. This week we have an open theme so you can make any kind of card for any occasion just as long as the main image is a bear.

Do you ever find that the card you make is not the one you thought you would make? Or is it just me? I was sure I had some paper with strawberries on it as there are one or two strawberries and cream challenges around. Well I was right and as you can see I found it. Somehow I had visualised a redder card if you see what I mean but this is what I ended up with lol!

I used :-
Image :- Hobby Art bear from a clear set - birthday set.
DP :- MME.
Colouring :- Promarkers and Sakura clear glitter gel pen.
Card candy and sentiment :- Craftwork Cards.
Flowers, charm and shimmer dots from stash.
Base card cream pearlescent from local paper mill.
Distress Inks round all edges - scattered straw and worn lipstick.
I'm hoping to enter some challenges with this card :-
Truly Scrumptious :- Sketch and strawberries and cream.
Cupcake :- Strawberries and cream.
Secret Crafter Saturday Challenge Strawberries and cream.
I think that's all now. I hope you can find time to check out what my talented teamies have made this week and hope they inspire you to look out your teddy stamps and make any card you like. I'm looking forward to seeing what you make this week.
I might be back later with some exciting news!

Totally Gorjuss 36 - It's in the Bag.

Hello everyone and it's time for another challenge over at Totally Gorjuss. This week our challenge is "It's in the bag", we'd like you to make a simple gift bag. My bag is certainly simple and very easy to make lol! I found the tutorial over at Split Coast Stampers. All you need is one sheet of 12"x12" double sided paper.

The original didn't have any leaves but I managed to smudge one of the liquid pearls and had to add something to cover the smudge - hence the leaves! After I had taken several photos I then realised that I hadn't added stickles to her dress. Thank goodness for digital cameras lol.

I used :-
Image :- Magnolia.
DP :- Cloud Nine.
Sentiment and card candy :- Craftwork cards.
Flowers :- Prima.
Colouring :- Promarkers. Distress Inks - round scallop oval and sentiment.
Sakura clear gel pen and clear glitter gel pen.
Nellie Snellen leaf punch, nesties, Liquid Pearls and Stickles.
I think that's it girls. I'm not sure if it fits any challenges but I'll think about that later. Meantime it is late Friday evening as I write so I'm leaving this post to the tender mercies of Mr. Blogger.
Pollycraft :- No cards allowed plus use glitter and/or lace. No lace but I have used glitter.
Bunny Zoe's challenge :- Nice and Girly.
Enjoy your weekend.

Sorry Everyone!

Hi girls,

sorry I've been a bad blogger and not visited anyone for a few days. We were babysitting for my daughter from Friday to Monday. So not much time for blogging with a seven and a half month baby and a two year 7 month toddler. And of course Catriona forgot to give me the password to use their broadband so my laptop was not a lot of use to me. Before I went I only had time to do my DT cards and schedule the posts and comment as far as I could. Now I need to catch up with this week's commenting and do next week's DT work. I really wish I had time to catch up with all my favourite blogs but I don't think their are enough hours in the day. If I don't manage to visit you today then I will try really hard tomorrow!

Here Comes Summer!

Only one day of the weekend left now and I hope you have all had a nice one. I had a lovely time yesterday at a demo at Simply Create at Alford. The one and only Kath was demoing Hero Arts stamps and Distress Inks. I'm full of enthusiasm now and hope I can catch up with DT work and have a play. But I digress!!

This week at Just Cute Bears our challenge is Here comes Summer. Now you might be thinking "what Summer?" Well if it's not too good where you are you might just have to use your imagination!

I think this cute Penny Black bear just says "Summer." Look at him, doesn't he look as if he's enjoying himself? Lying in the sunshine in his hammock with a lovely cold drink lol!

I used :-
Image :- Penny Black - kickin'
DP :- Wild Rose Studio.
Roses :- Wild Orchid Crafts sprayed with Glimmer Mist.
MS punch.
Jewels, Sakura clear glitter gel pen and clear gel pen, ribbon from stash.
I'm going to enter some challenges with this card :-
Totally Papercrafts :- Animal Magic.
Papertake Weekly :- Sketch plus lemon and lilac.
Pollycraft :- Ribbon and Bling.
I hope I've got this right now! That's the trouble with scheduling a post, you're never sure you've done everything properly until it's actually posted.
This is a nice easy challenge so I hope a lot of you want to take part. As usual you're welcome to combine it with as many other challenges as you like.
Enjoy what's left of the weekend.

DP :- Wild Rose Studio - For Men.

Colouring :- Promarkers, Sakura clear glitter gel pen, and clear gel pen.

Sentiment and Card Candy :- Craftwork Cards.

Ribbon from stash.

Fiskars Punch.

I'm also entering some challenges with this card :-

As usual we have a prize for you at Totally Gorjuss so I hope you can find time to join us. This week our sponsor is Fantastic Ribbons who have the most gorgeous ribbons for you to see.

You could make a Father's Day card or a birthday card for a man or a boy, just whatever you think fits the challenge. Looking forward to seeing what you make this week. My talented teamies have made some gorgeous cards as usual and you can find links to them in my sidebar. If you have time pop over and see what they have made to inspire you.

Enjoy your weekend. I will! I am off to Alford to see some demos from the inimitable Kath of Penny Black fame. She is going to be demonstrating using Hero Arts stamps and some Tim Holtz products. Can't wait to see what she's going to make.

A New Award!

First of all I must apologise to Delphine who gave me this award a few days ago. Thank you for thinking of me Delphine. I meant to post it sooner but this is me just getting round to it now. Delphine always leaves me lovely comments and I always look forward to seeing her new posts as she is very talented and makes gorgeous cards. I'd recommend you pop over to her blog and see what she has been making.

1. Thank and link the person who gave you the award.
2. Display the award on your blog.
3. Tell 6 lies and 1 truth about yourself or vice versa.

So here are my 6 lies and 1 truth.

3. I don't like making cards.
4. I don't like flowers.
5. I don't like dogs.
6. I don't like sweets

Just in Time!

I hope I'm just in time! After messing about most of the day and only making one card I made this one in no time (for me) last night. I didn't want to take a photo last night so I left it till this morning and now I'm wishing I had done it sooner. I want to enter the Passion for Promarkers challenge. I want to enter some other challenges so I'll stop waffling and come back and do the rest of the post later.

I used :-
Image :- House Mouse - isn't this Bedtime Story Gruffy really sweet? I think he might be asleep!
DP :- DCWV, Doodlebug Designs and Peppercorn.
Colouring :- Promarkers.
Card Candy :- Craftwork Cards.
Flowers and ribbon from stash.
Challenges I'm going to enter :-
Crafty Creations :-Black and white with a splash of red.
Friday Sketchers :- Sketch.
Create4Fun :- Black and white and one other colour.
I'm a bit disappointed with this photo. In real life and on my camera this is really black and white not as grey as it looks here!
I'm off now to PfP before it's too late!!

What Day Off?

Well so much for my day off! I haven't achieved very much. I knew what DP I wanted to use but somehow decided that it wasn't right. Yes you guessed right I did end up using it after wasting a lot of time!

I also had to waste time going to Tesco for onions. Didn't occur to me that I needed them when I went to the local shop for my papers. I suppose that would have been too easy!

So here it is and right up until it was almost complete I still wasn't sure about it. I'm still not sure about the blue I used for matting. The plain pink was no problem but the blue was a nightmare! I had all sorts of blue out. Too blue, too green (?), to dark, too light. So I just gave in and chose this one. I'm a bit disappointed about how the ribbon looks in the photo. In real life it doesn't look as dark.

I used :-

Image :- Penny Black.

DP :- Papermania Rose Garden.

Colouring :- Promarkers.

Sentiment :- Penny Black.

Swirl stamp from the Papermania 2009 Marie Curie set.

Pearls :- the Hobby House.

I'm going to enter a few challenges with this card :-

Penny Black :- Swirls.
Sketch Saturday :- Sketch.
Colour Create :- Baby pink and pastel blue plus something soft. I used a lovely soft piece of ribbon.
Papertake Weekly :- Fun - I think this hedgie's idea of fun is sunbathing in a deckchair!
I hope Kath doesn't faint when she sees how early I am entering the Penny Black challenge! Well ok I was a bit late last week lol!
I'm off now to see if I can make up for my lack of cardmaking so far today. I really thought I was going to get a lot done today. I did do a wee bit more tidying though and I managed to check out my favourite challenges. Unfortunately I still need to check out my favourite challenges!
Thanks for looking and for any kind comments you might leave.

Goodbye House Mouse!

Good evening girls and so much for Summer here in Aberdeenshire! After a very dull day it's now raining. I have a holiday tomorrow as it's a local holiday but I don't really care if it's nice or not since I'm not going anywhere. I'm hoping to get some decent crafting done. I managed to find some time this afternoon to make a quick card. This must be the first time for a long time that I've managed to post anything at the weekend except for my DT cards.

I 've had this stamp for ages but never got round to using it before now. I was really keen to try to take part in the House Mouse Blog Hop. This is such a big image that I've just made a very simple card with the image taking centre stage.
I used :-
Image :- House Mouse - Are We There Yet?
DP :- I don't know because it was in blog candy I won from Lil Daffodil.
Sentiment and Card Candy :- Craftwork Cards.
Colouring :- Promarkers.
That's it then girls my entry for the House Mouse challenge :- Goodbye/farewell.
I have to admit to struggling with this one. I noticed that one of the DT had used this image so I thought that's ok then but how to make it fit the goodbye/farewell theme. By good luck I found the "keep in touch" sentiment among my Craftwork Cards sentiments. So that saved having to do a computer generated one!
I don't think it fits any other challenges so I'm off to enter the challenge and do the blog hop. I might even have time to visit some of my favourite blogs and catch up with my DT commenting! I should also do my ironing cos if I don't I'll only have to do it tomorrow.

Just Cute Bears # 20 Father's Day.

Good morning everyone and I hope you are having a lovely weekend. As I write this on Saturday afternoon we have had a lovely day. Then there was a touch of rain but it seems to be fine again now. A customer on Saturday morning said it would rain later and be even worse on Sunday. I'm hoping he was wrong. I have a holiday on Monday unlike most other people who had the Bank Holiday last week. This is just a local holiday but hey I'm not proud a holiday is a holiday!

But on to our challenge at Just Cute Bears. This week we would like you to make something for Father's Day.

This is the lovely stamp you could win this week from our sponsor Kim at Cuddly Buddly. Isn't this a sweet image and just right for this time of year. I've just heard from Ali that Kim has a sale on just now so her web shop is definitely worth a visit!

As usual I struggled with doing a male card lol! Funny cos I have a husband, son, son-in-law and grandson and I was brought up with 2 brothers. I spent ages looking for this stamp which I KNEW I had but couldn't find. Then I realised that I'd tidied up my LOTV stamps into a folder lol!

I used :-
Image :- LOTV.
Sentiment and card candy :- Craftwork Cards.
Colouring :- Promarkers.
DP :- Prima.
Buttons, string and ribbon from stash.
I'm also meaning to enter a couple of challenges with this card.
Simon Says Stamp :- Male card.
I hope you can find a minute to tell me what you think of my card. I'm always encouraged by your lovely comments. Self doubt always seems to follow me and your comments always give me a boost. My talented teamies have made some gorgeous cards as usual and they would love to hear what you think too. You can find links to their blogs in my sidebar. And this month we are joined by the very talented Cherie as GDT. Cherie has made a beautiful card and her blog is well worth a visit.
Enjoy the rest of your weekend.

Blog candy winner.

Hi everyone,

I've just made the draw for my blog candy and the winner of the lovely Princess Tilda is ...................................

No. 11 Delphine.

Congrats Delphine and if you get in touch with your address I'll pop her in the post ASAP.

Thanks to everyone who entered. Now I need to sort out some candy to celebrate my blogaversary later this month. I can't believe I've been blogging for nearly a year now.

Enjoy your weekend,

Kat xx

Totally Gorjuss 33.

Good morning everyone and it's time for another challenge over at Totally Gorjuss. This week Net has given us a great sketch to work with. I really enjoyed using this sketch, it has a few layers and you can add your own little touches with some embellishments.

I used :-

Image :- Princess Tilda......

DP :- Basic Grey Kioshi.

Colouring :- Promarkers, Sakura clear gel pen and Sakura clear glitter gel pen.

Sentiment :- Craftwork cards.

Flower :- Prima (I think).

Stickles and Nesties.

Jewels and ribbon from stash...

It's rather late now so I'm just off to schedule this post and go to bed. After work tomorrow it'll be a bit of a novelty to just come home and catch up with blogging. I'm very relieved that my daughter's flat is finished now - well enough for her to be living in it!! Maybe now we can do something about a very weedy garden and a house that needs all it's outside woodwork varnished.

Enjoy your weekend and I'm hoping to pop over to some of your blogs to see what you've been making especially if you've managed to join us at Totally Gorjuss.

Belated birthday candy.

This post will stay at the top till Friday 4th June so please scroll down for more recent posts.Strictly speaking this is not my real birthday candy it's just a mini candy to give me time to sort out my birthday candy. My birthday was actually 2 weeks ago but between one thing and another I haven't had much time to make cards or post except for my DT cards and commenting. So apologies for not being very good at visiting my favourite blogs. I'm away to visit my daughter and family this weekend so I'm hoping that after that things will get back to normal.

Meantime I'd like to offer Princess Tilda as candy. I accidentally ordered her recently and couldn't be bothered sending her back to exchange her for a different Tilda. She's really pretty so I hope one of my followers would like her. If you'd like her please leave me a comment before midnight (GMT) and I'll draw a winner on Saturday 5th June. She's only little so I'll post worldwide.

Good luck everyone.

Kat xx

In the Garden.

Good evening everyone. Here I am with rather a late entry for a couple of challenges! It's been a bad week because I had to work an extra morning and then on my day off I got sidetracked trying to tidy up some of my stash!!

I used :-
Image :- Penny Black from the hugs! set.
DP :- Papermania Rose Garden (again - I love it!)
Colouring :- Promarkers.
Flowers :- Prima.
Pearls :- Prima e.line.
Jewels from stash.
Martha Stewart punch.
I am going to enter the following challenges:-
Sketch Saturday :- Sketch.
Penny Black :- In the garden.
Quixotic :- Go wild - feature animals.
Crafty Cardmakers :- Most and least favourite colours. Most - pink and least - green. I don't really dislike green that much it's just a colour I rarely wear or use.
Cupcake :- Summer delights.
Charisma Cardz :- Flowers.
Paperplay :- Flowers and sparkle.
I'd best go and finish my scheduled post for Totally Gorjuss now. Hope you can join us this week, we have a prize on offer as usual and I know my talented teamies have some gorgeous cards to inspire you.
Enjoy your weekend,
Kat xx

New Home.

Hi everyone, it seems like ages since I made a card. I was away at the weekend and then I had to work every day this week. But at least tomorrow's my day off! Mhairi came out today to pick up her mail and do her washing - all 5 loads of it. She does have a washing machine in her flat but there is some sort of problem with the water going away too slowly so it tends to flood! Since I hadn't made a new home card for her I took the chance to quickly make one this evening.

So now I just need to make a birthday card for her and get it posted on time! Her birthday is on Sunday and funnily enough she was born on a Sunday.

I used:-
Image and sentiment :- Hero Arts - Mi Casa.
DP :- American Crafts.
Colouring :- Promarkers. Precision Pen for faux stitching.
Flowers :- Prima.
Ribbon and buttons from stash.
I'm going to enter a few challenges with this card :-
Sketch and Stash :- Sketch and new stamps.
Secret Crafter :- Buttons and blooms.
One Stitch at a Time :- Use something new - my new stamps.
The Pink Elephant :- Bright fun colours.
Stamp Something :- Some DP, a ribbon, a bow and a tag.
Mhairi likes the card, I hope you do too. If you have time I'd love to hear what you think.
