New Award.

First of all I must apologise to Delphine and Carol who both gave me this lovely award a wee while ago. Thanks very much girls and sorry to take so long to post this. Between all the DT stuff I need to get done and these new puppies I feel as if I never achieve anything. But anyway here it is and it comes with a $5 gift certificate from Digis with Attitude

I have to tell you three things about myself!
1. I love to make things, not just cards, I still love to knit and crochet and cook and bake.
2. I don't really like working! I'd like to have more time to craft lol.
3. I'm quite picky, I like the things I make to be just right.

Now I have to pass this award on to 5 other people.
Vicky.
Juls.
Melly.
Sarah.
Squirrel.

All of these girls have great blogs and I love to visit them as often as I can.

Crafty Cardmakers 35 White and a Splash.

Hello everyone I hope you are all well and not up to your ears in snow. Up here in NE Scotland it has been very snowy. It started on Wednesday and seems to have just kept on snowing. We were brave and went away on Saturday afternoon to visit my daughter and family in Crieff in Perthshire. They have not had nearly as much snow as us. I'm writing this on Saturday evening so things may have changed drastically by Monday lol. The snow wouldn't matter so much to us as the main roads are ok just the back roads where we live are not too good. But we have the pups with us as no-one wanted to look after 2 ten week old puppies. Well my younger daughter had to work and I thought it was a lot to ask my son. They are pretty smart and usually good but accidents do happen!

I hope you enjoyed our last challenge at Crafty Cardmakers and thanks to everyone who joined us. I enjoyed visiting your blogs. Last week's challenge is still open for another week so you still have time to enter if you want.

This week we would like to see white with a splash of colour. As I'm even more short of time just now here's the quick card I made.

I used :-
Image :- LOTV quick squares cut out with a circle nestie.
Sentiment :- Hero Arts.
Card Candy :- Craftwork cards.
Martha Stewart punch, other punch, glitter, 2 Cuttlebug embossing folders.
Promarker on snowflakes.

Hope you like it. I'm quite pleased with how it turned out and I may make some more of them. I love these cute squares they're great for making a quick card and as you can see you don't have to leave them as squares. It's also easy to personalise them with a touch of glitter.

I'm entering the following challenges :-
A Spoon Full of Sugar :- Anything Goes.
Simon Says Stamp :- Let it Snow.
Crafty Creations :- Christmas is coming.
Fussy and Fancy :- no red or green.
Pile it On :- Feather n' Fur.
One Stitch at a Time :- Bling it Up.

I'm looking forward to visiting your blogs to see what you come up with for this challenge. Please pop over to Crafty Cardmakers to see what my teamies have made to inspire you. I'm sure you won't be disappointed. If you have time to leave me a comment I'd love to hear what you think and I'm sure my teamies would love to hear from you too.

Thanks for looking.

Good morning everyone and over at Totally Gorjuss we have another seasonal challenge for you. Thanks to everyone who joined us recently, you've certainly loved our last two challenges and I hope you want to join us this time too. This time our challenge is "Oh Christmas Tree" and of course we'd like to see some sort of Christmas tree on your card or project. We're sponsored by Cupids Clear Stamps this week so why don't you pop over to their website and see what they have to tempt you.

Here's what I've made this week, hope you like it!

I used :-
Image and sentiment :- LOTV - cute squares and Christmas sentiment.
DP :- Bo Bunny.
Snowflake and punched strip :- Martha Stewart punches.
Card candy :- Craftwork Cards.
Lots of glitter.

Poppy's Birthday Card.

Just a quick post with Poppy's birthday card. Poppy loves green so I've tried to use enough green to keep her happy. The little ballerina's headband is green but I covered it with Sakura clear glitter gel pen so it's not showing up very well in the photo!

I used :-
Image :- LOTV.
DP :- MME.
Colouring :- Promarkers & Sakura clear glitter gel pen.
Sentiment :- Craftwork Cards.
Pearls :- Hobby House.
Jewels and ribbon from stash.

Challenges I'm entering :-
Lili of the Valley :- Glitter and Glitz.
Truly Scrumptious :- Sketch plus Happy Birthday.
Simon Says Stamp :- Sparkle. (Thanks Lols)

I should probably go and do my ironing now while the puppies aren't around. I don't really want to find one or both of them swinging from the cable lol! They tend to do things together. Like stealing shoes or boots. I'm just hoping that I don't have to ask people to save their newspapers for me lol.

Enjoy what's left of your weekend.

Thanks for looking.

Just Cute Bears & Friends#40 Winter Birthday.

Good morning everyone, hope you're having a nice weekend. The weather here has been pretty horrible but after working full-time last week I'm just glad of a couple of days off!

Thanks to everyone who joined us at Just Cute Bears & Friendslast time for our black and white plus one other colour challenge. I saw some lovely cards when I was visiting your blogs. I hope you'll want to join us this fortnight for our new challenge. This time we'd like you to make a card for a winter birthday. As usual we're happy for you to combine with other challenges as long as you follow our theme and mention Just Cute Bears & Friends in your post.

Here's my card. I was going to show you the card I made for Poppy's birthday but that wouldn't do as the image I used is LOTV's little ballerina which is obviously not a cute animal!

I used :-
Image :- Forever Friends.
DP:-  Dovecraft  lovely glittery papers.
Sentiment :- Craftwork Cards.
Jewels :- Hobby House.
Colouring :- Promarkers and Sakura clear glitter gel pen.
Flowers and jewel brad from stash.

I'm going to enter the following challenges :-
Teddy Stampers :- Sketch and bling it on.
Daring Cardmakers :- We 3 - jewels. Was going to say DP till I realised I had 4 different ones!

If you've got time I'd love to hear what you think. And do pop over to Just Cute Bears & Friends and see the lovely cards my teamies have made.

Thanks for looking, enjoy the rest of your weekend.

Surprise! Look What We've Got.

I know it's only a few days since we lost Maddy but we really don't like being without a dog! So we found these gorgeous black Lab puppies not too far away. We went to see them on Thursday night. I couldn't make up my mind between them and my husband made the mistake of saying do you want them both. Of course I did. We didn't really mean to get 2 straight away, maybe one now and one later but they're brothers so they'll be good company for each other and great friends. He also said he'd prefer a bitch but here we are with 2 dogs! Still nameless. We're really struggling with boys names!

Aren't they gorgeous. My younger daughter came out to visit specially to see them. I emailed pics to Catriona so they could see them. Iain's there visiting but he'll probably want to see them soon too. Catriona thinks Poppy and Oliver will love them but maybe not their dog Missy! My son-in-law has sent me various daft names for  them but I'm waiting for inspiration to strike.

See you later with my card for Just Cute Bears & Friends.

More Lovely Penny Black.

Good morning everyone. First of all I'd like to say thank you to everyone who left a message after I told you about the loss of my beautiful chocolate Labrador, Maddy. I'm going to miss her very much and you've all been very kind to me.

Anyway enough about me. I finished this card last night but waited for daylight to take a piccie of it. I love this image, it's very quick to colour and really cute too.

I used :-
Image :- Penny Black.
DP :- MME signature Christmas.
Colouring :- Promarkers.
Snowflakes and snowflake border :- Martha Stewart.
Sentiment :- Craftwork Cards.
Jewels :- Hobby House.
Lots of lovely glitter!

This fits a few different challenges :-
Cute Card Thursday :- Anything goes.
Penny Black :- Favourite things - Penny Black image, Martha Stewart punches, MME DP, jewels and glitter!
Secret Crafter :- Sparkle and shine.
One Stitch at a Time :- Favourite colour, usually lilac but I love blue for Christmas cards.
Creative Inspirations :- Anything Christmassy.
Penny Black at Allsorts :-It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas.
Gem of a Challenge :- Sketch and non-traditional colours.

Think that's all for now. Best get some DT commenting done and think about next week's cards.

Winner of my second mini candy.

Hi everyone as promised here I am with the winner of my second little giveaway.

And the lucky person is ....
.
.
.
.

Debbi. Congratulations Debbi and if you let me know your address I'll get these stamps posted off to you straight away.

Bit sorry for myself....

Hi everyone, just a quick explanation of why I feel sorry for myself and it might also explain why I've not been good at visiting my favourite blogs. My gorgeous Labrador wasn't very good recently and has been at the vet a couple of times. We thought it was the old Labrador hips and she got some anti-inflammatory medicine 2 weeks ago. Unfortunately it didn't really seem to do much good and she just got worse and worse and kept falling over. Not easy to help a 37kg Labrador back up. So last night we had to make the difficult decision to let her go. The vet examined her legs again and her spine and said she thought it was Spondylosis. She said she could give her strong steroids for a couple of days which might or might not help. But we couldn't bear to see her suffering any more. She was only ten and a half and after we lost our Spaniel in May we thought at least we'd have Maddy for a few years yet. My son and younger daughter both appeared out to see her before she went to the vet! Big softies both of them. We live in the country so we were able to bring her home and my husband has buried her now just over the fence in the field next to us.

This is my gorgeous girl yesterday.

I really wish we had bought another puppy in the summer! I hate not having a dog. This morning I was just faffing about not sure what I was doing. You know how you have a routine in the morning (well I did) but now I've not got a dog to walk so what do I do? Don't be surprised if I tell you before long that we've got another dog or pup. We've had a dog or dogs all our married life. A couple of times we had a short time between dogs but for the last 26 years we've always had a dog without a break.

Anyway sorry to bore you with my moans and I'll be back later with the winner of my second mini candy.

Perhaps during my lunch hour at work I'll get on with a jumper I'm knitting for Oliver. He was a year old last week - I can't believe how quickly the last year has gone! Poppy will be three next week and it seems like no time since she was born too. I must be getting old lol!

Quick Post!

Just a really quick post to show you a card I made last night for the LOTVchallenge :- one for the girls. I used the sketch from Stamp Something. And ECP Challenges where they want to see red.

I'm going out to the WRI after my tea, hence the hurry. We're having a quiz night as a bit of a fundraiser. It's just a bit of fun really. 4 of us are "the quiz team" and go to other people's quizzes so every year we make up a quiz and invite people to take part. I'm also the treasurer so I've bought the prizes, some raffles and a gift for the quizmaster. The qm is a local councillor who really enjoys doing this - apart from the fact we buy him a bottle of the Famous Grouse for his trouble, not to mention the tea  and homebakes! We have to watch him as he always wants to be helpful and give clues.

I'll come back later and tell you what I used to make the card!

It's Thursday now and I'm pleased to say we had a successful quiz last night. The quizmaster managed not to give away too many answers. I think people enjoyed themselves and had a lovely tea. Everyone was very generous and we had so many raffle prizes you wouldn't believe.

So here's what I used to make my card:-

Image :- LOTV cute square cut out with a circle nestie.
DP :- Forever Friends.
Sentiment and card candy :- Craftwork cards.
Snowflake :- Martha Stewart punch - isn't it gorgeous?
And lots of glitter!

Thanks for looking and I'm going to have a full day of  crafting. I need to try to get ahead a bit as my colleague is on holiday next week so I won't have my precious day off next Thursday to craft.

Thanks for looking.

Just Cute Bears & Friends#39 Black & White plus One Colour.

Good morning everyone and I hope you've been having a lovely weekend. I hope everyone who's been to the NEC had a great time and didn't spend too much lol! I had a great time at the SECC last Sunday but I imagine that was just a little show compared to the one at the NEC.

If you haven't been over to Just Cute Bears & Friends pop over and see who won last fortnight's challenge. This time we would like you to make a card or other project using black & white & one other colour. As I'm still busy trying to make Christmas cards I wasn't sure if I could combine the two. I think it's worked ok but you can let me know what you think if you want

I used :-
Image :- LOTV.
DP :- Magnolia.
Colouring :- Promarkers.
Sentiment & Card Candy :- Craftwork Cards.

Ribbon, lace, jewels and flower from stash.

I'm entering the Charisma Cardz challenge which is with love at Christmas.

Another Christmas Card!

Today is pretty miserable here after a few nice sunny days. But it's my day off and I don't need to go anywhere so I can craft. After the broadband fiasco last Friday evening (thank you BT!!) I want to be sure I've got my DT cards safely made and posted in plenty of time. Talking of broadband fiascos was anyone else affected yesterday? I read in the paper this morning it was the same problem as last Friday. Very reassuring....not! I was at work in the Post Office and suddenly nothing worked. The helpline was inaccessible. A reboot didn't help. Eventually got through to the helpline but of course it was a bad line and I could hardly hear...fantastic!! After the usual questions I asked if it was an internet problem as I had heard that a customer had no internet access. So he asked if I was phoning from Scotland and said there was a problem but BT were trying to fix it and the only thing I could do was to try to log in every so often. I think the problem occurred about 12 noon or just before and I could log in about 1.20. Luckily after first thing on Wednesday morning we are pretty quiet and I only had to turn a few customers away. Any other day I could have done my weekly balance but yesterday I had to go and get my hair cut at 1.30 so I just had time to do as much as possible and go back later. Grrrr..... Just shows you though that it might not be ideal for a business like the Post Office to be totally reliant on a broadband connection. I think some back-up would be a good idea.

Anyway here's the card I made when my friend came over yesterday afternoon. I thought I'd get a decent photo this morning but the weather is so miserable my photo isn't that good. I think it's also squint but I'm not in the mood for taking more photos. I took a cold on Tuesday. It's not that bad, I've had worse colds but I wouldn't need much encouragement to have a sore head lol! Having a cold is hardly a surprise, we sat in a bus with 51 other people for hours on Sunday going to the SECC and then spent several hours there with hundreds more. My friend said yesterday that she had a sore throat and expected her cold to develop!

I used :-
Image :- LOTV cute squares - no colouring needed!
Sentiment and Card Candy :- Craftwork Cards.
Background :- Cuttlebug embossing folders, Snowflakes and Swiss Dots.
Ribbon from stash.
Promarkers to colour card candy and edge sentiment.
Glue pen and glitter and Sakura clear glitter gel pen for image.
Faux stitching with Precision Pen.

I love these cute squares. My friend bought some at the LOTV stand at the SECC but I already had some so I bought a couple of stamps.

I'm going to enter these challenges :-
Fussy and Fancy :- Winter Wonderland.
ABC Christmas :- Winter Wonderland - option white. Don't think my card is white enough for the option!

I'm off to have some lunch now and then get on with some crafting.

Thanks for looking

More Simply Create DT Items.

Hi everyone, just thought I'd show you some more of my DT projects for Simply Create.

First of all I had a book to alter. Not sure I've made a very good job of it but I quite enjoyed doing it. I haven't done much altering but I did my best! All the materials are available from Simply Create.

I also made this vintage style card. I didn't add a sentiment as I thought it would do for a birthday card or a Christmas card.
And lastly I made some little tags with some of the smaller images.
I still have lots of stuff left so I'll maybe be back sometime with something else!

Giveaway at Simply Create.

How do you fancy winning a set of 48 Prismacolor art markers, (worth £129), the ink is formulated to give the richest color saturation with silky smooooooth coverage. The duality of the thick and skinny tips let you change it up whenever the mood strikes. They are an alcohol, dye-based ink that’s non toxic and blendable, and they'll work in conjunction with your copics or promarkers, and come in a snazzy little carry case!

All you have to do is leave a comment Simply Create, sign up as a follower and if you shout about the giveaway on your blog then we'll add an extra entry into the hat for you. The draw will be held at the Pink Ladies Crafty Get Together on Sunday 14th November during lunch and will be drawn by the first pink lady who walks through the door on the day!!!!
So what are you waiting for?????

Crafty Cardmakers 33 - Stitching.

Good afternoon girls and I hope it is a lovely day where you are. It's beautiful here today again. Yesterday was lovely too and as we went down to Glasgow to the SECC for the craft show it was so nice to be in the sun when the sun came up. My friend and I got the bus at 6.30am but some of the ladies on our bus left a lot earlier! I was glad to leave my jacket in the bus as it always gets warm as you go round the hall. I have some lovely new stash to play with but first I had to get this card done. Yes of course it should have been done and scheduled a few days ago but between problems finding some of my Halloween stuff to make cards for the grandkids, another DT card to make and no Internet on Friday evening it didn't get done!!

But here it is now. I have to admit it was a very quick card so I hope you like it. Over at Crafty Cardmakers we'd like to see some stitching on your card or project. We don't mind if it's real or faux stitching. I didn't really have a choice, for speed it had to be faux!

I used :-
Image :- Cute square (trimmed to rectangle shape) from LOTV.
DP :- MME Wonderful Winter.
Sentiment :- Craftwork Cards.
Snowflakes :- Martha Stewart punch.
Swirls :- Cottage Cutz.
Faux stitching with American Crafts precision pen.
Glamour Dust, Sakura glitter gel pen, Poppy Promarker, glue pen.

As I said this was a really quick card. It had to be and it's surprising how quick you can be when you have to be. I just hope Vix isn't too mad with me! I used a red base card to give a nice border round my first layer of DP. I love these cute images from LOTV and being pre-coloured they save a lot of time. I added some glitter to the image and round the sentiment for a bit of glitz. Some glue on the swirls and snowflakes, some Glamour Dust and you're sorted.

I'm going to enter some challenges with this card :-
Sketch and Stash :- Sketch.
Totally Papercrafts :- Bling it On.
ABC :-G is for Glitter.
A Spoon Full of Sugar :- Let's get Punchy.
Papertake Weekly :- Sparkly and Bright.
Creative Card Crew :- Let's Punch It.
Simon Says Stamp challenge :- Punch Em.
Pile it On :- Beary Good Friends.

Well that's me girls, just in time to schedule this post. Hope you can join us in our stitching challenge. If you haven't been over to Crafty Cardmakers challenge blog do take a minute to pop over and see what my talented teamies have made to inspire you, you won't be disappointed. While you're there check out last weeks challenge, you still have till Sunday to enter and if you like using digis it's ideal for you.

If you have time to tell me what you think of my card I'd love to read what you think. Feedback is always good. Now I'm off to have my lunch and check out my new stash.

Thanks for looking.
