Totally Gorjuss 240 - Dad

Good morning everyone and it's the weekend at last. So it must be time for another challenge at Totally Gorjuss. This week we'd like you to make a "Dad" card - surprise, surprise! I've made a card for my husband. Not that the image is like him but I don't have one of someone lying sleeping in a chair!

I used :-
Image and DP :- LOTV.
Sentiment :- Stampin' Up!
Card candy :- Craftwork Cards.

Simple card but just the sort of thing a man llikes!

Well I've got a crop this afternoon so maybe I'll get ahead with my DT cards.ter.

Thanks for looking and I'll catch up later.

Totally Gorjuss Challenge 238 - Stitching.

Good morning everyone. I'm hoping for another sunny day like Thursday and Friday!

This week at Totally Gorjuss we'd like to see some stitching on your card. This can be real stitching or faux stitching like mine.

I needed to make a card for a friend's grandson who's just become a "big brother." I love this cute image. I also have a "big sister" stamp.

I used :-
Image ;- Funky Kits.
Colouring :- Promarkers.
Sentiment :- Hero Arts and Stampin' Up!
Card Candy :- Craftwork Cards.

I quite like how it's turned out, nice and simple for a wee boy.

I'm at work this morning as usual. At least back to normal now after a few weeks of freedom. And yes I'd be lying if I said I was pleased to be back at work. I've really enjoyed being at home and I never got bored! I maybe haven't managed to make many cards or do much blogging but I have done a lot of knitting and crocheting. I'm knitting a summer top just now (as well as crocheting 2 blankets) and I've remembered how much I hate using a circular needle!

We're going to the theatre tonight to see Dial M for Murder so I'm looking forward to that. We haven't been to the theatre for ages but the email offering £10 off was a nice incentive!

Catch you all later. Thanks for looking.

Oliver's Four Now

I think I forgot to show you Oliver's birthday card. He was four on Saturday and just to make his day his doggie was two. Guess that makes them twins lol! Oliver had a very busy weekend. he had a birthday party on Saturday morning, one on Saturday afternoon and his own on Sunday afternoon. I think he was a very tired wee boy, full of birthday cake on Sunday night. I got a pic of him on Monday wearing his new dog onesie that he got for his birthday from popular Gran (moi) and Grampa. He loves it and put it on as soon as he got it!

But I digress, here's his birthday card.

I used :-
Image, sentiment and DP :- LOTV. (Image is one of their toppers.)
Card Candy :- Craftwork Cards.
Bakers' Twine :- Ribbon Girl.
Button.

Oliver loves his doggie and he also loves his bike so I thought he'd like this image. He always talks about their young dog as "his Brodie."

I've still no idea what the challenges are just now, maybe I'll get a few minutes to look around tomorrow. I'm hoping to also show you another card tomorrow that I made for a lovely couple who celebrated their Golden Wedding Anniversary last week. I also have some cards I made for a colleague and some Christmas cards. I may not have been around online but I haven't been completely idle!

In the meantime thanks to everyone who visits me and takes time to leave me a lovely comment.

Thanks for looking and I'd love to hear from you if you've got a minute to spare.

Totally Gorjuss Challenge 201 - Stripes.

Good morning everyone. Is it just me or did anyone else have a really quick week? Mine disappeared very quickly! Only another week and then my colleague will be on holiday for two week. Bet that time doesn't pass quickly!!

But since it's Saturday it's time for another challenge at Totally Gorjuss. This week we'd like to see stripes on your work. As you might be able to tell from my card I got it into my head the challenge was spots and stripes. Oops, silly me! Still there are some stripes on it. As you can see I'm still in CAS mode.

Totally Gorjuss 198 - Bows.

Edited to add :- is it ok to say I hate Mr Blogger or will that make him worse? I definitely scheduled this post for Saturday morning and he didn't post it!!! When I checked tonight it was under draft. But I double-checked before I switched off last night and it said scheduled so I'm pretty annoyed. Not sure why considering the number of people who visit me!

Good morning everyone. I think this has been a really quick week! But it's time for another challenge at Totally Gorjuss. This week we'd like to see bows on your work. We're sponsored by the lovely people at The Ribbon Girl who are offering a voucher to spend in their lovely online store.

I'll catch up later, broadband connection permitting.

Big Brother.

Hi everyone my broadband is being a bit iffy tonight so I'll be brief. I've just finished my Tesco shopping and that was not a lot of fun with the connection being so slow.

Recently the last of the three girls at work who became a Granny within a few weeks had a new granddaughter. So her little grandson became a big brother. I thought it would be nice to make a card specially for him. So this is it.

I used :-
Image :- Sugar Nellies.
Colouring :- Promarkers.
DP :- Craft Creations.
Sentiment :- Hero Arts and Stampin' Up!
Card Candy :- Craftwork Cards.

Challenges :-
Sugar Bowl :- Anything Goes.
Stampin for the Weekend :- Anything Goes.

I'm off to catch up with my DT work now.

Thanks for looking and all your lovely comments.

This Easter Egg looks yummy!

Saturday was a crop at my local craft shop and I decided I would take some bits and pieces to make Easter cards for Poppy and Oliver. We went to a Soup & Sweet lunch in aid of our village hall first. It was really well supported in spite of an incredibly cold day. I had yummy tattie (potato) soup and strawberry pavlova. Maybe this is why I had no notion of making a card when I got to the crop. So I did some knitting which I had taken as a fall back. After a wee while I decided to make a start on Oliver's card. Unfortunately when I looked at my coloured image it didn't look right (to me) beside the backing card and ribbon. The blue was wrong! I'm a bit picky about colours being right! So I went back to my knitting. When I got home I did make Oliver's card and one for Poppy. I also finished some packaging for their Easter present. So here's Oliver's card.

I used :-
Image :- Stampendous.
Colouring :- Promarkers.
Card Candi :- Craftwork Cards.
Cuttlebug embossing folder and ribbon.

I'm entering the following challenges :-
Cards 4 Men :- Easter.
Simon Says Stamp :-Easter/Spring.
Totally Papercrafts :- Easter Eggstravaganza.
Addicted to CAS :- Spring.
Pile it On :- Dots. I hope card candi and embossed dots count!

This is a really nice little set of stamps. I think I used the one with a chick juggling Easter eggs for Oliver's card last year.

Thanks for looking and hope you have time to leave me a wee comment. I really appreciate every comment you leave. Besides I love to visit other people and see what they've been making.

Peace and Joy.

I think I may have become addicted to making Christmas cards! At the weekend I thought I had made enough Christmas cards and just needed to make the family ones. But I'm still making more! I love this embossing folder and I thought it would be nice with some pearls. Unfortunately I'm rubbish with a pearl pen. I didn't mean to add a sentiment but since I had messed up one of the pearls I needed something to cover up the messy bit lol.

I used :-
Sentiments :- Hero Arts and Craftwork Cards.
Snowflake :- Spellbinders Snowflake Pendant 2011.
Pearls :- Viva decor pearl pen.
Colouring :- Spica glitter gel pens.
Glamour Dust, gems.
Embossing folder :- Couture Creations.

Nice and simple and I love red and white for Christmas cards.

I sat last night and typed out all my addresses into my label programme. Nightmare but my own fault since I had to replace my hard drive a few months ago and needless to say it wasn't backed up. I think I've probably made too many cards now! I seem to be in a making Christmas cards rut now though. But the worst thing was that I couldn't find my packet of labels anywhere. So nice kind hubby volunteered to go to Tesco and get some for me. Unfortunately they didn't have any in Ellon which is only six and a half miles away so he went on to Aberdeen from there. After a lot of searching he found a packet thank goodness! But what is it about men that he couldn't just ask someone where they were?

It's a horrible day here. I went to work to finish off the weekly balance and get the papers first thing. I went really early to get it over with as it was icy under the snow and we have to make a right turn and go uphill from the main road. You end up having to drive really slowly as the main road is clear but our back road is icy. A bit scarey in a wee Golf as I always worry about getting stuck and having to ask the farmer at the top of the hill for help. Luckily the car got her winter tyres on the other day and even though I felt a bit of sliding we made it withoug getting stuck.

I'm off to have some soup now. When I went to make my coffee earlier I decided to make mushroom soup so I'm looking forward to having some for my lunch.

Thanks for looking and I'll catch up later.

Hope it's not going to snow any time soon!

Looks snowy in both of today's cards but I don't want to see snow for a long time yet!

I'm back today with another two quick cards. Well at this time of year and with lots of cards still to make what's a girl got to do except try to make quick cards!

I used :-
Image and DP :- LOTV.
Sentiment and candi :- Craftwork Cards.
Corner :- Memory Box.
Martha Stewart punch, Glamour Dust.

Challenges :-
Creative Inspirations :- Red for remembrance.
St Lukes Charity Cards Challenge :- Traditional Christmas card.

I was going to enter at Stamping Sensations but I realised that would be wrong since I haven't actually stamped anything!

And my second card.

I used :-
Image :- LOTV die cut.
Sentiment and Candi :- Craftwork Cards.
Swirl :- Marianne.
Embossing folder :- Cuttlebug.
Glamour Dust, ribbon, Ranger Liquid Pearls.

Challenges :-
Crafty Creations :-No flowers.
Papertake Weekly :- Anything goes.
Everybody Art :- Embossing.
ABC Christmas :- V for Vibrant colours.

I'm hoping to get some crafting done later today. First of all it's the annual Remembrance service then lunch. If I can do some crafting in the afternoon I'll be happy but later on I'll need to do my ironing as usual.

Enjoy what's left of your weekend. Catch up later.

Looks like present time.....

Wonder what's in those interesting parcels?

Amazing my second post today. You can find my DT card for Totally Gorjuss here. I'm still in Christmas card mode as you can see and I couldn't resist this cute LOTV die cut image. Not to mention the gorgeous paper also from LOTV.

I used :-
Image and DP :- LOTV die cut.
Sentiment and candi :- Craftwork cards.
Icicle border and snowflakes :- Martha Stewart punches.
Glamour Dust and Sakura clear glitter gel pen.

I'm entering the following challenges :-
Pile it on :- Make it Sparkle.
Paperplay :- Snowflakes.
Charisma :- Feeling Blue.

I'm off now to see if I can get some more Christmas cards organised since I've still got a lot to do and even two weeks later I still haven't managed to do much with the new goodies I bought at the SECC.

Thanks for looking and I really like to read what you think of my cards if you have time to leave me a comment. I also like to visit other blogs so don't be shy, tell me what you think and I'll come and visit you too.

Enjoy your weekend. And if you're going to the NEC don't spend too much lol!!!

Christmas Bunnies.

Sorry me again with another boring Christmas card!

I used :-
Image :- LOTV cute square..... again!
Martha Stewart snowflake punches.
Cuttlebug embossing folders.
Sentiment and Candi :- Craftwork Cards.
Glamour Dust, velvet ribbon and lace.

Thanks for looking and if I don't catch up tonight I'll try to get round my favourite blogs tomorrow. This is my WRI meeting tonight. We're having a visit from another WRI who will entertain us and judge our competitions. I've got my Strawberry jam made so I just need to make some savoury scones, probably cheese, this afternoon. Wish me luck with the competitions, I'll probably need it!!

Oh Christmas Tree........

Are you getting fed up with my Christmas cards yet? I'm just quietly working away at them and trying to make a few every week. I hope you aren't finding these ones this week too samey! I'm still trying to use some of my LOTV cute squares. I found a card this evening that I must have started when my friend was crafting with me last Wednesday. So I finished it just now before it got lost again!

This is another of Saturday's cards.

I used :-
Image :- LOTV cute square.
Sentiment and Candi :- Craftwork Cards.
Cuttlebug embossing folders.
Martha Stewart snowflake punches.
Glamour Dust and ribbon.

I'm really quite into cards with a  white embossed background this year. Pity really since I've got some lovely Christmas papers. I've got some nice background stamps too so I must make more effort to use them too.

Thanks for looking and I'll catch up later after work.

Totally Gorjuss 152 - Anything Goes.

Good morning everyone, thank goodness it's Saturday! I've had a busy week lol! On Monday evening after being at work all day I was at a quiz that had been organized for all the WRIs in Aberdeenshire. It was good fun and while we didn't win anything, not even a raffle prize, we weren't far behind the winners. On Tuesday after work I had to have a quick tea and go to a quiz organized by a WRI in our group. This time we were third only half a point behind the second placed team and two of us won a raffle prize. And even better we had lovely sandwiches, scones, pancakes, cakes and traybakes. On my precious day off I had to go to the dentist for a check up. In the afternoon I had been roped into helping out at Messy Church which is a new initiative for us. Children come along with a parent or some other adult. They get a snack and then there are a range of activities like painting, crafts, board games, books etc. Then there is a short bible story and maybe a song. We ended up with sandwiches, carrots, peppers, cherry tomatoes, crisps, juice and cake. We were pretty chuffed with the turnout and even though it is a church initiative no-one mentions coming to church or Sunday school. The idea is really just to get parents and children together with others and socialise, play and eat together. It was busy but fun! In the evening I went out to craft with friends. Tomorrow I have a crop and still have to decide what to take with me.

totall
But enough waffle it's time for another challenge at Totally Gorjuss. This week we're giving you a really easy challenge. It's "Anything Goes" and we're sponsored by Joanna Sheen. Do you like Promarkers? Well you could get the lovely new Limited Edition Winter colours if you win. They are lovely. I couldn't resist them!!

I used :-
Image :- Sugar Nellies.
DP :- LOTV.
Colouring :- Promarkers.
Candi :- Craftwork Cards.
Big Brother :- Hero Arts - Typewriter Letters.

I used the lovely sketch from theSugar Bowl so I'm entering that challenge.

Thanks for looking and I'll try to be a better blogger next week. I've missed not having enough time to catch up with my favourite blogs this week. Not to mention that I haven't had time to craft!

Catch you all later.

What's in the boxes Teddy?

Looks like he's got some lovely presents, or is he giving them to other people. There's something exciting about a parcel wrapped up in nice paper and tied up with a lovely ribbon and bow isn't there? I still love these James Bear images even though LOTV have produced lots of new Christmas images since James first appeared. I got some of LOTV's lovely new Kraft Christmas paper and I thought they would be perfect with some of the James Bear images.

I used :-
Image :- LOTV topper.
DP :- LOTV.
Sentiment :- Craftwork Cards.
Glamour Dust, Nesties, seam binding and Sakura glitter gel pen.

Not sure if there are any challenges for this card but if there are I'll add them tomorrow. When I come home from work tonight I'll only just have time to get changed and have a quick tea before I go out to my WRI quiz and I probably won't be home very early.

Thanks for looking and isn't it strange how quickly this year has gone. October already! I always think we're really on the slippy slope when the month has two digits and here we are at the tenth month already! Is it just me? Am I getting old or does anyone else think this year has passed a bit quickly?

Anybody need left-handed card?

Yes you've guessed right, I didn't check the card was the right way up when I added the embossed backing complete with image, ribbon etc!! I made this card at the crop yesterday afternoon and had to turn it into an easel card. At least nothing was wasted!

I used :-
Image :- Hero Arts.
Sentiment and Candi :- Craftwork Cards.
Snowflake :- Martha Stewart punch.
Colouring :- Promarkers.
Corners :- Whimsy die.
Ribbon, Glamour Dust and Sakura clear, glitter gel pen.

I used the glitter gel pen on the image but I'm not sure you can see it in the photo. IRL it looks lovely and sparkly. I did a lot of colouring at the crop so you can see some more Christmas cards from me in the near future. Not much this week though as we're going off on Tuesday morning to babysit for four days. We should be back on Saturday and I'm taking my laptop with me so I should be able to keep up with what's going on. I won't be able to craft though as it would be a lot of bother to take any craft stuff with me. I think the car will be a bit busy with two big dogs, their cage, food and our luggage! I wouldn't want Poppy and Oliver getting in among my Promarkers anyway so I think I'll just be a craft-free zone for 4 days!!

Thanks for looking and I hope you can find a minute to leave me a comment. Especially if you've never visited before, I love to visit new people as well as the girls who always visit me and leave me kind comments. Catch up later when I've done some ironing and made the tea.

Totally Gorjuss 147 - Sketch.

I'm feeling quite happy today as my colleague will be back to work next week and I have a holiday on Monday. It's been a very long two weeks and I'll be glad to get back to normal and have my precious day off again on Thursday.

As it's the first Saturday in September (already!) we have a sketch for you this week at Totally Gorjuss and the ever generous Joanna Sheen is sponsoring us again.

Here's the sketch.

And here's my take on it.

I used :-
Image :- Penny Black.
Colouring :- Promarkers.
DP :- LOTV.
Sentiment and Candi :- Craftwork Cards.
Glamour Dust, Stickles, Martha Stewart punch, Nesties and gems.

Challenges for this card :-
Everybody Art :- Anything Goes.
Simon Says Stamp :- Anything Goes.

This working full time has played havoc with my crafting time but there is light at the end of the tunnel. My colleague is back next week and I have a local holiday on Monday. And my usual day off on Thursday. Great. But I'll really need all my time as the week after we're babysitting for 4 days so no chance of crafting then. I could take some images to colour but I don't fancy Poppy and Oliver getting their hands on my Promarkers!

Thanks for looking and I'll try to catch up later today.

I used :-
Image :- LOTV cute square.
Sentiment and candi :- Craftwork Cards.
Embossing folders :- Cuttlebug.
Snowflake :- Martha Stewart punch.
Lace, Glamour Dust, Promarker round sentiment, Viva decor pearl pen.

I'm entering the following challenges :-

Creative Inspirations :- Anything Goes.
Christmas Stampin All Year Long:- Anything Goes.
Allsorts :- Going Around in Circles.
Ready Teddy Go :- Anything Goes.
Crafty Ribbons :- Seeing Spots and Dots.

Thanks for looking and I'll catch up later after my crop.

Vroom, Vroom!!

Me again and definitely a lot later than I meant to be posting this card. Especially since it's been made since Friday. I got distracted ordering Easiyo mixes at Lakeland.

So here's my latest card.

I used :-
Image :- Penny Black.
Sentiment and Card Candi :- Craftwork Cards.
Letters and number 6 :- Sizzix.
DP :- Basic Grey.
Distress Ink and Kraft.

I'm entering the following challenges :-
Papertake Weekly :- Sketch.
Oldie But a Goodie :- Summer Holidays.
Crafting When We Can :- Summer Fun.

The doggie has his case in the back so I think he's off to have fun on his Summer Holidays! Here in Scotland the children are on holiday now for seven weeks. The teachers are delighted and some of the Mums a bit less so. Not sure how the teacher mums feel lol!

I think some of you can probably guess who this card is for. That's right, Kath's gorgeous Retriever, Buddy. I'm a wee bit late so I hope Buddy doesn't see this before he gets it lol!

Thanks for looking and I'm hoping to be less busy and more productive next week!

By the way I hope the candy winners have checked the post below to see who won.
