Just Cute Bears #24 Decoupage.

Hi everyone and over at Just Cute Bears we have another challenge for you. This week we would like to see some decoupage on your card. I have to say that this is something I don't do very often and when I was in the middle of this card I remembered why lol!! I was going to do Popcorn Bear with golf clubs and give it to my uncle who will be 90 next Sunday. He's amazing, he's always liked his golf and the last I heard he was still playing! He is my lovely Dad's little brother and he's a lovely, lovely man. His sister will be 94 in September and she's quite a character. My dear Dad died of a heart attack when he was 74 or he would have been 98.

I think I will still do Popcorn for my Uncle Bill but probably not 3d him. I can't think of anything else I have that would do.

But on to my card for Just Cute Bears. I used this lovely image of bears in their bath from the Gruffies "Beary Good Times" decoupage set from Joanna Sheen. I love the designs but I don't really like putting them together as there are sometimes some very skinny pieces and I was using sticky pads. Have you ever tried to cut one of the teeny weeny pads in half. It's a lot of fun I can assure you! It's also quite difficult to photograph without showing the sticky pads. I should really use glue not sticky pads but it's done now. I'll remember next time!

I love House Mouse images and this is one of my favourite images to make a new baby card. Isn't this a cute mousie baby?





The House Mouse Challenge this week is for something new so I decided to make a new baby card. I used the great sketch from Cupcake Craft Challenge.

I'm not sure about the way I've coloured the blocks but apart from that I quite like how this card turned out. Hope you like it and can find time to leave me a comment. I'm always encouraged by the kind comments people leave and it's nice to be able to visit you in turn and see what you've been making. I made this card on Saturday as well as my DT card for Just Cute Bears and I'm really pleased to have managed to make two cards in one day. I still need to make another Sympathy card or probably two would be better so I'll have a spare one. I also need to make my Uncle's card and one for a teenage nephew. But I have a day off on Monday so hopefully I can have a good day crafting then!

Good evening everyone. After trying to take a decent photo of this card this evening I wish I had finished the card this morning and taken the photo when it was brighter. The wet Glossy Accents on the flowers doesn't help either. But I did housework instead - aren't I a good girl lol!

Hi everyone, well I said yesterday that I had some news. Vix asked me to join the DT over at Crafty Cardmakers. I had to think carefully......for about 2 seconds before saying "yes please". Hello again girls. I'm amazed to find myself posting for the second time today! So if you want to see my DT card for Just Cute Bears please scroll down. It's been a long time since I managed more than about 2 posts in a week. Funnily enough like my DT card for Just Cute Bears it's not exactly what I meant to make lol!

I'm entering the Mojo Monday challenge with this card. I love this sketch it was so nice and easy to use. I think it also fits the Magical Crafts challenge which is for flowers.

It's been a fantastic day here today and I have been inside all day apart from hanging out my washing so maybe I'll treat myself and go outside and bring it back in again before I make tea.

Just Cute Bears 23.

Hello everyone is it Sunday already? Why does the weekend seem to go so quickly? Time for another challenge at Just Cute Bears. This week we have an open theme so you can make any kind of card for any occasion just as long as the main image is a bear.

Do you ever find that the card you make is not the one you thought you would make? Or is it just me? I was sure I had some paper with strawberries on it as there are one or two strawberries and cream challenges around. Well I was right and as you can see I found it. Somehow I had visualised a redder card if you see what I mean but this is what I ended up with lol!

Totally Gorjuss 36 - It's in the Bag.

Hello everyone and it's time for another challenge over at Totally Gorjuss. This week our challenge is "It's in the bag", we'd like you to make a simple gift bag. My bag is certainly simple and very easy to make lol! I found the tutorial over at Split Coast Stampers. All you need is one sheet of 12"x12" double sided paper.

The original didn't have any leaves but I managed to smudge one of the liquid pearls and had to add something to cover the smudge - hence the leaves! After I had taken several photos I then realised that I hadn't added stickles to her dress. Thank goodness for digital cameras lol.

Sorry Everyone!

Hi girls,

sorry I've been a bad blogger and not visited anyone for a few days. We were babysitting for my daughter from Friday to Monday. So not much time for blogging with a seven and a half month baby and a two year 7 month toddler. And of course Catriona forgot to give me the password to use their broadband so my laptop was not a lot of use to me. Before I went I only had time to do my DT cards and schedule the posts and comment as far as I could. Now I need to catch up with this week's commenting and do next week's DT work. I really wish I had time to catch up with all my favourite blogs but I don't think their are enough hours in the day. If I don't manage to visit you today then I will try really hard tomorrow!

Here Comes Summer!

Only one day of the weekend left now and I hope you have all had a nice one. I had a lovely time yesterday at a demo at Simply Create at Alford. Just in Time!

I hope I'm just in time! After messing about most of the day and only making one card I made this one in no time (for me) last night. I didn't want to take a photo last night so I left it till this morning and now I'm wishing I had done it sooner. I want to enter the Passion for Promarkers challenge. What Day Off?

Well so much for my day off! I haven't achieved very much. I knew what DP I wanted to use but somehow decided that it wasn't right. Yes you guessed right I did end up using it after wasting a lot of time!



I also had to waste time going to Tesco for onions. Didn't occur to me that I needed them when I went to the local shop for my papers. I suppose that would have been too easy!



So here it is and right up until it was almost complete I still wasn't sure about it. I'm still not sure about the blue I used for matting. The plain pink was no problem but the blue was a nightmare! I had all sorts of blue out. Too blue, too green (?), to dark, too light. So I just gave in and chose this one. I'm a bit disappointed about how the ribbon looks in the photo. In real life it doesn't look as dark.

Goodbye House Mouse!

Good evening girls and so much for Summer here in Aberdeenshire! After a very dull day it's now raining. I have a holiday tomorrow as it's a local holiday but I don't really care if it's nice or not since I'm not going anywhere. I'm hoping to get some decent crafting done. I managed to find some time this afternoon to make a quick card. This must be the first time for a long time that I've managed to post anything at the weekend except for my DT cards.

I 've had this stamp for ages but never got round to using it before now. I was really keen to try to take part in the House Mouse Blog Hop. This is such a big image that I've just made a very simple card with the image taking centre stage.

I don't think it fits any other challenges so I'm off to enter the challenge and do the blog hop. I might even have time to visit some of my favourite blogs and catch up with my DT commenting! I should also do my ironing cos if I don't I'll only have to do it tomorrow.

Just Cute Bears # 20 Father's Day.

Good morning everyone and I hope you are having a lovely weekend. As I write this on Saturday afternoon we have had a lovely day. Then there was a touch of rain but it seems to be fine again now. A customer on Saturday morning said it would rain later and be even worse on Sunday. I'm hoping he was wrong. I have a holiday on Monday unlike most other people who had the Bank Holiday last week. This is just a local holiday but hey I'm not proud a holiday is a holiday!

Belated birthday candy.

Hi everyone, it seems like ages since I made a card. I was away at the weekend and then I had to work every day this week. But at least tomorrow's my day off! Mhairi came out today to pick up her mail and do her washing - all 5 loads of it. She does have a washing machine in her flat but there is some sort of problem with the water going away too slowly so it tends to flood! Since I hadn't made a new home card for her I took the chance to quickly make one this evening.

So now I just need to make a birthday card for her and get it posted on time! Her birthday is on Sunday and funnily enough she was born on a Sunday.

I used:-

Image and sentiment :- Hero Arts - Mi Casa.

DP :- American Crafts.

Colouring :- Promarkers. Precision Pen for faux stitching.

Flowers :- Prima.

Ribbon and buttons from stash.
