Just Cute Bears # Bev's Sketch

Good morning everyone. I hope you are enjoying a lovely weekend. We have had a great week in Aberdeenshire except......it poured yesterday while I was at work! When I came home I had to empty the water out of my basket to put the washing in it. Then I had to re-spin it before I could tumble dry it. But hey bad things happen sometimes and at least we didn't have the thunder and lightning they had west of Aberdeen.

I went to a crop after work today and had this card all organised but....there's always a but isn't there? I'd forgotten to take an edge punch with me. I did get the image coloured and everything ready to stick together. So all I had to do was stick it together and add some pearls, a sentiment and my new ribbon. But could I get it uploaded to the DT blog? No not easily! I'm not sure if it was Mr Smart Alec Blogger or my broadband. When I did get it uploaded I then messed up shifting it from the beginning of the post to the end of the DT pics. I hope I got it sorted eventually without messing up the rest of the post!!

But enough of my fun with uploading. Here is the little cutie you can win this week. Kindly supplied by the ever generous Kim at Cuddly Buddly.

Our very talented GDT Bev has given us a great sketch to follow this week. We don't mind if you turn it round as long as we can see the original sketch that's fine.

I used:-

Image :- LOTV - Deckchair Dreaming.

Sentiment :- Craftwork Cards.

DP :- MME laundry line.

Colouring :- Promarkers. Chalk for sky (if you can see it!)

Pearls :- the Hobby House.

Nesties, Stampin' Up! punch, ribbon from stash.

Hope you can find time to pop over to Just Cute Bears to check out what my talented teamies have done with Bev's sketch. The other girls have made some beautiful cards this week and we'd all be really pleased if you could leave us a comment to let us know how we're doing.

Thanks for taking the time to have a look at my card and for any kind comments you may leave. Enjoy the rest of your weekend.

Totally Gorjuss 31 Bling it On.

Hi everyone it's Saturday again and time for another challenge at Totally Gorjuss. This week we would like to see some bling on your card or project. I've used a Sakura clear glitter gel pen on the fairy's dress and stickles round the nestie circle and the sentiment and also on the flowers.

I've used :-
Image :- LOTV.
DP :- Tim Holtz Shabby Chic.
Colouring :- Promarkers.
Flowers :- Wild Orchid Crafts.
Sentiment :- Craftwork Cards.
Pearls :- The Hobby House.
Nesties, Sakura clear glitter gel pen, Stickles.
I've used the sketch from Creative Card Crew.
And the challenge at Passion for Promarkers is Fantasy/Mythology.
I've got a crop at my local craft shop after work today but I'll check later to see what you think of our challenge. I'm looking forward to seeing what you make this week.
Enjoy your weekend,

Penny Black and more!

Hello everyone. It feels like ages since I made anything but that's probably because it is ages. I really wanted to enter the Penny Black Saturday challenge. I love Penny Black images, no matter what new images I buy I still go back to them. It's still really nice here in Aberdeenshire. Can't believe how nice it's been for days and days now. I even took these photos outside!

And here's the inside. I don't usually do the inside except for a printed insert but it's really nice to make the effort sometimes.

I used:-

Image :- Penny Black slapstick - hedgehog birthday.

DP :- Basic Grey Kioshi.

Colouring :- Promarkers and Spica Glitter gel pens.

Sentiment :- Craftwork Cards.

Flowers :- EK Success retro flower punch.

Lace and pearls from stash.

Flower charm included in candy I won from lil daffodil - thanks Fiona.

I quite like this card except for the candle light! I think I've overdone the colour there. Think I've used the wrong shade of yellow and then added Spica gel pen in yellow - paler would have been better lol!

Now that I've got this made I think it fits a few challenges :-

Penny Black :- Flowers.

Allsorts :- Birthday.

Secret Crafter :- Metal - only a small charm but it is metal!

Basic Grey :- Punch it plus DP.

Creative Inspirations Sunday Challenge :- Punches or die cuts.

Sketch Saturday :- Sketch.

Crafty Cardmakers :- Decorate inside.

Cupcake :- Blooming charming.

Pollycraft :- Summer blooms.

Die Cut Dreams :- Lace.

Papertake Weekly :- Say it with flowers...

Creative Inspirations Wednesday challenge :- For a child.

ABC :- U for unused stash. The lace because I'm trying not to use it lol!!

Crafty Creations :- Celebrate.

A Spoon Full of Sugar :- Cute and Girly.

Charisma Cardz :- 3D.

Phew I'll need to go and have a coffee now - I'm exhausted typing out all these challenges lol! I don't usually combine as many challenges as this but somehow they just all seem to fit. I usually take a note of my favourite challenges to see if any of them go together but only ever do a few of them. This must be a record for me as I usually can't be bothered searching around.

Well I'm off to make that coffee and think about my DT cards.

Thanks Everyone.

Hi girls, just a quick post to say some thank yous. First of all thanks to everyone who said Happy Birthday and Anniversary for last Thursday. Much appreciated!

I also want to thank everyone who has been kind enough to say sorry to hear about the death of my little dog, Lucy. We'll really miss her, 14 years is a long time to have a dog. In spite of some of the things that have happened to her she always loved going to the vet's. She got a broken leg while playing with my son's friend as a puppy. She had a toe removed once as it had a nasty lump that no-one noticed - Spaniels have very hairy feet and having a toe removed is apparently quite common! 7 years ago she was very ill and nearly died. She ended up on steroid tablets which were gradually cut down until she was off them competely. The vet who put her to sleep said he had never known a dog to have been so ill and yet be able to come off the steroids. Very determined little dog our Lucy. Definitely a people dog, she just loved people. In the vet's surgery at the end she was still the same. One clap and she was anybody's. As we say here in Scotland Maddy is still a bit "hingin luggit". Droopy eared doesn't give the same impression but I expect you know what I mean lol!

So thanks again everyone you've all been so kind. I wish I could thank you all individually but we're still working at Mhairi's flat. Today I've been pasting wallpaper and I'm sure some of you must know how much fun that is!

Just Cute Bears #17 A Recipe.

Hi everyone. If it's Sunday it must be time for another challenge at Just Cute Bears. This week we have a recipe for you. We would like you to include 3 brads, 2 papers and 1 ribbon on your card or project plus of course a bear.

We are once again sponsored by our kind sponsor Kim at Cuddly Buddly. As well as her own stamps, digi stamps and digi download papers Kim sells a wide selection of other lovely goodies and it's always worthwhile popping over to her web shop for a look. I'm sure you'll find something you really want to buy!

This little cutie is the prize for one lucky random winner this week.

This is my card for this week's challenge. I meant to use a new LOTV stamp that I got the other day but could I find it? No! I searched everywhere and couldn't understand why it could be lost. In the end I gave up and decided to use this image instead. I did find the stamp I meant to use after I had stamped this image. I have some Promarkers in a plastic tub which held Tesco non bio liquid capsules! Yes that is where it was. Never mind I'll use it soon.

I used:-
Image :- Penny Black
DP and ribbon :- Stampin' Up!
Colouring :- Promarkers, Spica glitter gel pen, Sakura clear glitter gel pen.
Sentiment and scalloped cards :- Craftwork Cards.
Nesties and brads.
Isn't this DP and ribbon gorgeous. I bought it from Angela who is a Stampin' Up! demonstrator. She also kindly punched out some scalloped ovals and circles to fit the sentiments. Thanks Angela I really love the papers and ribbon. I used some green Papermania card which is a good match for the DP and the scalloped oval.
I still feel a bit odd with the loss of my little Spaniel on Saturday morning. My husband brought her home to bury her in the field next to our house. We let our Labrador have a good look and a sniff at Lucy and she went into the field when he went to bury Lucy. She's been a bit strange on Saturday night. Not very happy. Maddy's never been on her own. She went from her mother to living with Lucy. Hope she's a bit happier soon!
I hope you can find time to pop over to the Just Cute Bears challenge blog to see what my talented teamies have made this week. We would all appreciate if you have a minute to spare to let us know what you think. I'm looking forward to how you interpret our "recipe" challenge this week.
Thanks for taking the time to look and for any kind comments you might leave.
Enjoy the rest of your weekend.

Totally Gorjuss 30 Round and Round!

Hi everyone. Hopefully Mr Blogger will post this for me at 8am as I need to go to work this morning. I must apologise for the quality of this photo as I had to make my DT card for Totally Gorjuss and take the photo on Friday evening.

I had been hoping to make a card in the morning but my fourteen and a half year old Cocker Spaniel was not very good. She hasn't been that good for a while and of course we've been postponing the inevitable! She barked for about half the morning and nothing seemed to help. Eventually she went to sleep for a while but woke up again just before my daughter set off with my other daughter's dog. They were coming back from their holidays and picking up Missy at Aberdeen. Just after they left she suddenly threw up on the doormat. Lovely! I only had time to throw the mat outside and go to work. When I came home she didn't even wake up. When my husband phoned from work he said to phone the vet and see when she could go in. They said she could go in first thing tomorrow so he will take her before work. I can't go with her because the first appointment is 9am and that's when I start work. She's going on what my son calls "the one way ticket!" Sound callous but all three of them are really fond of her. We have had her for over 14 years and she's been a great wee dog. She absolutely loves people and she was a pretty wee blue roan doggie. Now she is blind, deaf, shaky on her legs and just a bundle of bones. Still has a great appetite though LOL!

Sorry to go on! Now about the card. It was made rather quickly and I hope I haven't held Net up too much as she is the one who puts the challenge post together. This week we would like to see circles on your cards. You could make a round card, stamp your image on a round piece of card, use spotty paper or ribbon (I've got tiny little spots on my ribbon) the choice is yours.

I used :-
Image :- Princess Tilda.
DP :- DVWV Nana's Nursery.
Flowers :- Prima.
Sentiment :- Craftwork Cards.
Colouring :- Promarkers, Spica glitter gel pen and Sakura clear glitter gel pen and clear gel pen.
Jewels :- Basic Grey.
Raffia lace from Quixotic Paperie.
Nesties, stickles and clear gem brad.
As well as my DT card I'm going to enter some challenges :-
Sketch and Stash :- Sketch and neglected Basic Grey Jewels and new Prima flowers.
One Stitch at a Time :- Going Dotty.
Papertake Weekly :- Shiny, sparkly and special.
Stamp Something :- Celebrate something.
Just Magnolia :- One for the girls.
ABC :- Unused stash - Basic Grey jewels.
Well that's me for now. I hope you can find time to visit Totally Gorjuss and see what my talented teamies have made. If you've got a minute to let us know what you think we'd be delighted. As usual there will be a lovely prize for one lucky random winner. I'm looking forward to seeing how you interpret our challenge.
Enjoy your weekend,
Kat xx

Happy Anniversary.

I've had a bit of a wasted day today! I don't know what I did in the morning apart from catching up on a few of my favourite blogs. Then in the afternoon my daughter was going to Peterhead to the bank and she asked if I wanted to go for a coffee. To be honest I really wanted to stay at home and make some cards but I didn't like to say no. She did buy me a coffee and a muffin and then we went into Thornton's and I bought some sweeties and she bought me a present from Yankee Candles for my birthday. I think it's a diffuser...is that the right term?

So by the time we got home I didn't have much time to make anything but I wanted to get my card made for Penny Black's 2nd Anniversary blog hop. I needed an anniversary card for my husband....for today! Yes I was daft enough to get married on my birthday! That means he only has one chance to forget my birthday and our anniversary lol! Actually he never has in all these years....and it is quite a lot of years.

Sorry for the quality of the photo. I had a reasonable photo but when I looked at the Secret Crafter challenge I realised that I had written down 2 embellishments instead of 3 so I had to add the little heart charm lol!

Edited to add :- I've changed the photo. So if you think this one's not very good you should have seen the one I took last night lol!!

I used :-

Image and sentiment :- Penny Black.

DP :- Tim Holtz - vintage shabby.

Colouring :- Promarkers.

Card candy :- Craftwork Cards.

Ribbon from stash.

Challenges entered :-

Penny Black :- Sketch and image.
Secret Crafter :- 3 embellishments, 2 papers and 1 image.
Pile it On :- Cute and Cuddly.

Now I'm off to enter these challenges and start the Penny Black 2nd anniversary blog hop. Ooops nearly forgot I should also catch up with my DT work too. I've been out at a friends making cards. A few of us do this every fortnight and make cards and have a blether. I'm the slow one, the one that's usually last to finish lol!

Tomorrow I really need to get my DT cards done. I'm a bit late this week but I'll get them done in time. I expect I'll be at Mhairi's flat again this weekend! Still we should be finished before too much longer.

Looking forward to the weekend even though I'm either cleaning or decorating!

Pretty Daisy.

Hi everyone just a quick post with my entry for the Friday Sketchers challenge and blog hop. It is their 2nd anniversary and the very talented Jacque has provided a great sketch to follow.

I'm a wee bit short of time as this is my WRI night so I need to get this posted and make my tea and go. Lack of time doesn't seem to be getting any better though my daughter has been out with the dogs so I just need to feed them and me before I go!

I used :-

Image :- Daisy from Sugar Nellies.

Sentiment and card candy :- Craftwork Cards.

Colouring :- Promarkers.

DP :- MME Penny Lane.
Pearly Stuff from Woodware, Stickles and Spica glitter gel pen.
That's me then. Thanks for taking the time to have a look and for any comments you might leave.

Just Cute Bears #16 Multifold Card.

Hi everyone. Hope you are having a nice weekend. Today I think I will be back at my daughter's flat. I will either be pasting wallpaper or cleaning in the kitchen depending on whether my son appears or not. Yesterday afternoon we did a bit of browsing wallpaper, irons cutlery etc. She bought some crockery and glasses and I hoovered her new carpet. So today we will need to do "proper" work lol!

But on to my card for Just Cute Bears. As usual we are sponsored by Kim at Cuddly Buddly. Kim has been very generous and we are very grateful for her support.

Here is my multifold card. I've just made a simple spring card and if you visit my talented teamies you will see that a few of us have had the same idea lol!

I used :-
Image :- Forever Friends.
DP :- MME pretty please - again!
Nesties.
Colouring :-Promarkers.
I hope you can find time to pop over to Just Cute Bears to check out our challenge and see what my talented teamies have made. Please let us know what you think of our cards if you have time. It's always encouraging if you can let us know how we've done.
I'm off now to schedule this post and check out some of my favourite blogs. I really need to check out Penny Black to see what the details are for their blog hop. I love Penny Black images and I don't always manage to enter their challenge. Maybe this week will be different.
Enjoy what's left of your weekend.

Totally Gorjuss 29 - Pink and Green.

How did it get to be Saturday again. I'm sure it was Saturday just a couple of days ago!! But if it's Saturday it must be time for another challenge at Totally Gorjuss. This week we would like to see pink and green on your card or project. That's not too difficult is it?

This week I've made a wedding card and I think it will fit a few challenges. I am also going to send it to Domi who is getting married to Uli on the 15th of May. I hope they have a lovely day. I was married on the 13th of May more years ago than I want to remember lol!

This is my card and I hope you like it, but more importantly I hope Domi and Uli like it.

Image:- Whiff of Joy Bride. Cut out and popped up on sticky pads.
Sentiment - Craftwork cards, inside a computer generated message cut out with a scalloped nestie.
DP :- Sandylion - Wedding stripes and Roses. Roses also used inside card.
Colouring :- Promarkers and Sakura clear glitter gel pen.
Flowers :- Wild Orchid Crafts.
Pearls :- Hobby House.
Jewels from stash.
Lace :- Quixotic.
I'm quite pleased with this card. I love the papers and I think (hope) the flowers and lace go well with the papers and image.
I am entering this card in a few challenges:-
Simon Says Stamp :- Wedding.
Domi's Wedding Card Challenge :- Domi's wedding card.
Paperplay :- Bling.
Charisma Cardz :- Wedding.
By the Cute and Girly :- Celebration.
Whiff of Joy :- Sketch.
That's it then girls. I hope you can find time to enter this nice easy challenge. It's only a couple of colours so I'm sure you can combine it with some other challenges if you want. I'm looking forward to seeing what you make this week. If you have a minute I'd be really happy to hear what you think of my card. And please take the time to pop over to Totally Gorjuss and see what my talented teamies have made. You won't be disappointed as they have all made gorgeous cards this week again.
Enjoy your weekend.

Sugar Bowl 34.

Hello everyone just a quick post with my entry for the Sugar Bowl challenge. Late as usual lol! But I have an excuse as after all the decorating at the weekend and on Monday this is the first chance I've had to do anything. I've managed to catch up with my DT work so hopefully tomorrow I can do a lot of crafting. But....and there's always a but isn't there? My younger daughter went to her sister's on Monday and came back with the dog on Tuesday as they are going on holiday. She's a great dog but a bit nutty. She's a yellow Lab and she gets on fine with my Lab. Unfortunately she has a bit of a health problem and has to have Hills dog food which is pretty expensive. Not even just the normal food but one from their range of prescription foods. Catriona ordered it last Wednesday and expected to get it on Thursday. Needless to say it came today and she is 2-3 hours drive away. So I had to phone our vet's and ask them to order it and I'll need to go and get it tomorrow. So I hope I can just go in there and straight back. I may nip in to Tesco as Kath has a great idea for storing clear stamps in folders which I might be able to get in my local store. I should have some of my university folders but I don't know where!!

Any way enough waffle. Sorry about the quality of the photo it looks a bit pale. Not easy to get a decent picture at night.

I used:-

DP :- Papermania rose garden.

Image :- Birthday Maggie.

Sentiment :- Craftwork Cards.

Colouring :- Promarkers, Sakura clear glitter gel pen and clear gel pen (shiny shoes).

Flowers punched with EK Success retro punches.

Pearls from stash.

That's it then, not a lot to it and probably not one of my best. Not sure I've done justice to Tiet's lovely sketch with all it's layers. Hopefully I'll be back tomorrow with some more cards. There are a few challenges I'd like to enter before I have to think about more decorating lol!!

Just Cute Bears # 15 Buttons and Bows.

Hello everyone, time for another challenge at Just Cute Bears. This week we'd like to see buttons and bows on your creations.

I'm always looking for a sketch for inspiration to do my Just Cute Bears DT card but I posted a card using the great sketch from Sketch Saturday so I thought I'd do a variation of that one as I found it really easy to use.

I used :-
DP :- MME out and about.
Image :- Forever Friends.
Colouring :- Promarkers.
Sentiment :- Craftwork Cards.
Flower and punched strip :- Martha Stewart.
Button, string and flat back gems from stash.
Nesties.
The very talented Bev Rochester is joining us as guest designer this week so I'm sure you'll want to pop over to the Just Cute Bears blog to see what Bev and the DT have come up with. I'm sure you won't be disappointed.
Enjoy the rest of your weekend and Bank Holiday Monday if you are lucky enough to have a day off then too. I have the day off but I fear I am still in decorating mode lol!!
Kat xx

Titchy Card!

Just a quick post with this titchy wee card I made earlier but funnily enough it fits 3 challenges!

I used:-
DP :- MME pretty please (again!).
Flowers :- Prima.
Sentiment :- Craftwork Cards.
Nesties, Fiskars punch, spacer, brad, ribbon.
I had a lot of fun (not) cutting this out as my scalloped nesty didn't want to go through 2 thicknesses of card. Can't really blame it as the card is quite thick.
The challenges I am entering are :-
Mojo Monday :- Sketch.
Cupcake :- Don't be square.
ABC :- T for thank you.
Well I'm late to bed as usual and I should have been earlier because I guess I need to help with the decorating at my daughters flat. She always manages to skive but hopefully we can get more painting done tomorrow and maybe even make a start with the papering!!
Enjoy the rest of the weekend. I'm off on Monday too for the Bank Holiday but I don't think it's going to be much of a holiday. Still it gives us a chance to get on with Mhairi's flat, there's only so much you get get done at the weekend especially when you have to work some of it.
See you tomorrow....actually later today with my DT card for Just Cute Bears.

And of course double sided-tape. That seems rather a lot of essentials lol!
Creative Card Crew :- April showers bring May flowers.
I hope I've got these challenges all right!
If you've got a minute to spare I'd love to hear what you think of my card and I hope you'll want to pop over to the Totally Gorjuss blog to see the gorgeous cards my clever teamies have made.
If you feel like entering our challenge we'd love to see how you interpret our challenge this week. We all love to check out your blogs and don't forget there's a prize up for grabs and you could win it if you enter your new card or project with a link back to your post before next Saturday.
