Lots of Flowers.

Hi everyone, and isn't it a lovely day for a wedding. At least it is here in Aberdeenshire, so I hope it is where you are too. I've been watching "the wedding" and isn't Kate a beautiful bride? Her dress is stunning and suits her perfectly.

I managed to make my DT card yesterday. Always a relief to get it finished and posted on the DT blog in time. Then I had time to make another one. Just simple and quick but using my favourite colour - lilac.

I used :-
Image :- Stampin' Up.
DP :- Basic Grey.
Colouring :- Promarkers.
Flowers, card candy and pearls.

I'm entering the following challenges with this card :-
Simply Stampin :- Sketch and of course a Stampin' Up image.
Fussy and Fancy :-Springtime - I think my DP and flowers are very Springlike so I hope that's ok.

Well I need to go and get some lunch now and take my dogs for a walk. Enjoy your day everyone.

Edited to add :- Guess what silly person only realised about 8pm that she hadn't entered the Simply Stampin challenge which closes at 6pm?!!

Totally Gorjuss 77 - Bling It.

Good morning everyone and I hope you're all set for a lovely Easter weekend. Unfortunately I don't have any days off  just now as we have a local holiday at the beginning of April. Still I have a day off for the Royal Wedding and then the May Day bank holiday so that'll be good, more time to craft. Today I'm going to a crop after work. I think we usually do as much chatting as working but it's nice to meet up with the others. I also heard that there's some nice new goodies so a nice browse around seems to be in order.

Today it's time for our latest challenge at Totally Gorjuss. This week our challenge is "bling it!" We'd like you to add lots of lovely sparkle to your card or project. We're sponsored by Whoopsi Daisy and Linnie has generously given all the DT their own choice of digi images to use. Thanks Linnie. My teamies have all used really pretty images and made some fabby cards. The ones I chose (4 on a sheet) are really easy to colour and ideal for a new baby card or a child's birthday card.

These images are so easy to use that I ended up using two of them and made a boy card and a girl card!

I used :-

Colouring :- Promarkers.
DP :- Craft Creations.
Sentiment :- Penny Black.
Gems :- Hobby House.
Glamour Dust.

Time to Relax!

Hi everyone. I can't put my finger on it but somehow I never seem to achieve anything just now! I made this card on Wednesday and this is me just getting it blogged now. In my defence I had to work all day on Tuesday as my colleague phoned to say she felt really bad. She had a really nasty cold with a thumping headache. I had a cold too but she sounded a lot worse than me. It was also my WRI agm on Wednesday evening and we all took on our old jobs. Well I knew no-one would want to be treasurer anyway. There are worse jobs I think. I don't mind selling raffle tickets but I always hated having to read out the winning numbers. Then on Thursday evening I had a card making session with friends. Tomorrow I have a crop after work so I hope after that I can catch up with my DT work.

At work we have cards that I've made but I think there are no male cards left. We only need one and I don't think his birthday's till at least next month. Not like me to be this organised lol!

So here's the card.

I used :-
Image :- LOTV die cut.
DP :- Wild Rose Studio.
Sentiment & Card Candy  :- Craftwork Cards.
Bakers' Twine :- Ribbon Girl.
Ribbon & button from stash.

Challenges for this card :- Creative Inspirations :- Pets/Animals.
Bunny Zoe :- One for the boys.

That's all for tonight, I'd best go and finish off my scheduled post for Totally Gorjuss for tomorrow morning. I started it last night, then ran out of time! Story of my life I think.

Catch up with you all tomorrow after my crop. Enjoy your weekend especially if you have a holiday on Monday.

Some Easter Cards.

Hi everyone seems like ages since I posted! Just when you think things are getting better!!!! My colleague phoned me on Tuesday morning as she couldn't work. She had a cold recently and thought it had cleared up but back it came on Monday with a vengeance. Unluckily for me I had developed a cold too (thanks hubby!). But I wasn't as bad as her. So poor me nothing but work and no time to craft. To be honest I didn't feel like making anything on Monday evening but on Tuesday I knew I had to get Easter cards made for Poppy & Oliver.

This is Oliver's card.

I used :-
Image :- LOTV.
DP :- Basic Grey.
Sentiment :- Penny Black.
Card Candy, Baker's Twine, Ribbon and stripey buttons.

I'm entering the following challenges with this card :-
 Basic Grey. :- Easter/Spring.
Cards for Men.:- Easter.
Stampin' For the Weekend. :- Easter.
Daring Cardmakers. :- Easter.
Lili of the Valley :- Easter.
Fussy and Fancy :- For a child.

And this is Poppy's card.

I used :-
Image :- LOTV.
Sentiment :- Penny Black.
Seam Binding :- Ribbon Girl.
Pearls and Glamour Dust.

I'm entering the following challenges with this card :-
ECP :- Easter.
Craft Your Days Away. :- Easter.
Die Cut Dreams :- Easter.
Dream Valley Challenges :- Easter.
ABC :- S for Sparkle.

Well it's really late now so I'd better finish up now. It was my night for the WRI. It was the agm so guess who's still got the job of treasurer? Yeah me, not the sort of job that anyone else wants!!

Hope you like and thanks for looking

Totally Gorjuss 76 - No DP.

Good morning everyone. Seems like no time since last week but here we are at Saturday again and time for another challenge over at Totally Gorjuss. This week we'd like you to make a card without using DP. Not difficult is it? You could emboss some card instead of using DP or you could make your own DP with background stamps. That's what I chose to do. I stamped some card using 2 Hero Arts stamps and Spun Sugar Distress Ink and Lulu Lavender Memento ink. The image is LOTV with added glitter and some Sakura clear gel pen on the shoes. The seam binding and lovely flower are from the Ribbon Girl, sentiment from Craftwork Cards and pearls from the Hobby House.

This week we are sponsored by Simon Says Stamp so why don't you join us? We'd love to see how you interpret our challenge this week. You certainly gave us a lot of "fluffy" cards to look at last week.

I'd like to enter this card in the following challenges :-

One Stitch at a Time :- New Baby.
ABC :- S for Sugar and Spice.
By the Cute and Girly :- Cute and Girly.

Thanks for looking and enjoy your weekend.

St Lukes Charity Cards Challenge - Say it with flowers.

Hi everyone. I've still not been a very good blogger this week. I don't seem to have achieved much this week. I made a card with my friend yesterday and some jewellery over the last couple of days. Not a lot is it? And then to crown it all we skived off to Simply Create at Alford today. We both got some lovely new goodies and had a lovely chat with Jacqui. I even had a quick chat with Anne. My friend and I haven't been to Alford for ages so it was nice to pop over there on a nice day.

This is the card I made yesterday.

I used :-
Image :- LOTV cute square.
Sentiment and card candy :- Craftwork Cards.
DP :- MME.
Promarker, Sakura clear gel pen (shoes) & glitter gel pen (hairband) & Glamour Dust.

I'd like to enter the following challlenges :-
St Lukes Charity Card Challenge which is "Say it with flowers."
Lili of the Valley :- Happy Birthday.

And this is the jewellery I've made. It's only bead stringing but I feel quite pleased with myself. I've got some seed beads that I've had for years so all I need to do is find something to do with them!

.

Thanks for looking. Not long till the weekend now.

Look what I Made and Ribbon Girls Giveaway!

First of all apologies for not being around much and not having much to show you this week. I was babysitting for my daughter at the weekend. We had an overnight babysitting session on Sat/Sun. My son-in-law's firm had won an award so the owner was treating 50 of them to a meal and an overnight stay at the St. Andrews Bay Hotel. So we went down to stay at Crieff on Saturday. Poppy and Oliver were really good. Oliver at 17 months is very much his Mum's boy and to my relief he never said a word when his Mum and Dad left. The 2 of them even got on really well with the pups. At almost 7 months they are very boisterous! They kept trying to get Missy (Catriona's 8 year old Lab) to play but she refused. I think it was a bit of if I don't see them they're not there lol!

Before I went I had managed to sew up all of the jumper and hat and Poppy's cardie. The neck was knitted so all that was left was the front bands. I got that done and all that's left is the buttons. Unfortunately the buttons that Catriona bought were the wrong size so she'll have to buy some more and sew them on herself!

So here's Oliver's jumper and hat.

It has little anchors all over the jumper and one in the middle of hat.

This is Poppy's cardie. It has a row of dogs right round it. That was a lot of fun to knit! Then I had to embroider the doggies' collars and eyes. That was not much fun either.

And here is some lovely candy from the Ribbon Girl. Isn't it gorgeous. You just need to mention it on your blog and leave them a comment.

I'm off to try and catch up with my DT work and visiting my favourite blogs.

Thanks for looking

Totally Gorjuss 75 Fluffy!

Good morning everyone. I hope it is a lovely day where you are. Here in North East Scotland we've been very lucky and had a few gorgeous days this week. Our neighbour is lambing just now and I love to see the lambs enjoying the sunshine. But I have to hold on very tightly to my hooligan Labradors. This is not easy as one is 29.5kg and the other is 30.7 so it's a lot to hang onto lol.

But on to my card. This week at Totally Gorjuss our challenge is "Fluffy." We'd like to see something fluffy in your card or project, so a little animal would be perfect.

I'm thinking about getting into Christmas mode to save getting stressed later in the year so I've made a "fluffy" Christmas card this week.

I used :-
Image :- LOTV.
DP :- Bo Bunny plus dotty Bazzill.
Colouring :- Promarkers.
Sentiment & card candy :- Craftwork Cards.
Martha Stewart punches, Glamour Dust, jewels and velvet ric rac.

I used the lovely sketch from Sketch Saturday, silly me by the time I post this it's too late to enter there!
I'm entering the following challenges :-
Cards for Men :- Embossing.
Creative Inspirations Wednesday challenge :- Punches or dies.
Craft Your Days Away :- Spots & Stripes.

Hope you can join us this week. Our sponsor this week is Crafter's Companion and I'm sure I don't need to tell you what a great variety of products they have in their online store.

I must apologise for not being very good at blogging and visiting this week. I managed to get my DT work done and not a lot else. On Wednesday my laptop was pounced on by something called MS REMOVAL TOOL. I instantly suspected this was something dodgy as it claimed my laptop had 38 infections - viruses, trojan horses, worms, malware, spyware..... It was pretty scary but it's not long since my son downloaded some new antivirus software. This thing wouldn't let me do anything at all and kept saying my system was in danger etc. So I text Iain and he googled it and said it was a hoax. I shut down and rebooted in safe mode and checked out how to get rid of it. But then I was worried that anything that claimed to fix it was dodgy too. By Thursday it was still there. At night I checked out some more and decided to try a system reset. I'd already tried that with no success but read somewhere that you could reset to a specific point in time so I decided to try to reset to Tuesday evening. It worked and so far it hasn't shown its ugly head again. It was really scary, the messages etc were really worrying and if you get a scare like that it would be easy to believe it was really happening. I'm naturally suspicious I think and always wary about clicking on anything so I just wanted to warn you to be wary if anything like this turns up. The scariest thing was that I couldn't do anything at all and I didn't know if it just wanted to mess up my system or if it wanted to get something like bank or card details.

I'm off babysitting today so hopefully when the kids are in bed I can catch up with you all.

Enjoy your weekend. Thanks for looking and if you have a minute to leave me a comment I'd love to hear what you think.

Love This Poppy!

Good morning everyone. It's really unusual for me to post on a Monday morning unless I've scheduled a post but today I have a day off. Fantastic!
Since I had that lovely Penny Black stamp out I thought I'd use it to make a card for the Penny Black challenge. I love poppies anyway so any excuse to use a poppy image and this one is really gorgeous, isn't it, very elegant.

I used :-
Image :- Penny Black.
Sentiment & Card Candy :- Craftwork Cards.
DP :- Craftshouse.
Colouring :- Promarkers..
Inkssentials pen for faux stitching.
Velvet ric rac, flowers and pearls from stash.

This card also fits the challenge at Penny Black at Allsorts which is black and white plus one other colour.

Well I'd best go and check on these naughty pups as they're outside in the garden and probably eating plants and digging up the grass! Hope you like.

Thanks for looking, time for a coffee now!

Less is More # 9 A Touch of Red.

Hello everyone hope you've all had a lovely Mother's Day whether you are Mums or not. Pets count too lol! I'm Mum to my two Labrador pups as well as my kids.

I'm a bit earlier this week with my card for Less is More. I love this challenge and like a lot of the others I think I'm becoming addicted to it. It certainly makes you think. It's great to get such good feedback and advice from Chrissie and Mandi. Thanks girls for taking the trouble to check out all the entries and if necessary tell us how we can improve our cards. It's also really good to see how others have tackled the challenge.

I'm not sure my card's very good this week. Is there too much red round the image? I would probably have had a smaller border but I've lost one of my nesties. I'm sure it's in the house somewhere it just isn't shouting loud enough for me to find it.

Anyway here's my effort.

I'd also like to enter the Allsorts challenge which is "Blooming Blossoms."

I think I'll go and check out the entries for Totally Gorjuss. This week we have one of Net's lovely sketches for you to follow. I hope you'll want to join us, I know it can make it easier to make a start to a card if you have a sketch to follow.

Tomorrow I have the day off as it's a local holiday. I'm really looking forward to doing what I like all day. I'm also off next Saturday and the following Monday as we're babysitting and it's nice to have a Monday to catch up. I hope the pups behave as even though Poppy and Oliver are used to their own Labrador, who can be quite rough, the pups are maybe a wee bit friendly for 2 little people lol!

Thanks for looking and please leave me a comment if you've got time and then I can pop over and visit you too.

Totally Gorjuss 74 -Sketch.

Hi everyone, Saturday again and time for another challenge over at Totally Gorjuss. Thanks to everyone who joined us last week and what a lot of you there were! As this is the first Saturday in April we have another one of Net's great sketches and we are sponsored by the ever generous Joanna Sheen.

I used :-
Image :- Gorjuss Girl.
DP :- First Edition - Love Letters.
Sentiment & Card Candy :- Craftwork Cards.
Flower :- Prima.
Colouring :- Promarkers & Sakura clear glitter gel pen.
And some faux stitching.

I think this fits the challenge at Oldie but a Goodie which is pink/blue & brown. I've certainly had this stamp for a while. I've used her lots of times but she's been rather neglected recently. Another challenge where they want to see pink and brown is Everybody Art.

Hope you can join us this week again. If you pop over to Totally Gorjuss you can see what gorgeous cards my teamies have made to inspire you this week and also who won last week's challenge.

I'm working this morning and then I've got the whole weekend to myself plus Monday. It's a local holiday here and the Post Office is closed. Fantastic! Unfortunately we'll pay for it on Tuesday, but I'll enjoy it at the time.

Enjoy your weekend and I'll try to get round my favourite blogs later.
