I Love Red!

I was on a bit of a roll yesterday and managed to make 3 cards. I've already posted my Princess Tilda card and then I decided to make one for the Penny Black Saturday Challenge where we are asked to include 3 flowers, 2 buttons and a bow. To be honest I have to say that I forgot about the two buttons and a bow and had used black card candy in the centre of my flowers but checked up before I took the photo and changed the card to include the 2 buttons and a bow. I'm also entering the Sketch Saturday challenge. I had to turn the sketch round to fit the shape of my image.I'm loving red today as you might notice if you check out my Just Cute Bears DT card on Sunday!

I used:-
DP :- MME Pretty Please.
Image :- Penny Black - poppy fields.
Card candy and sentiment :- Craftwork Cards.
Nesties, Martha Stewart punch and retro flower punch.
Flat backed pearls :- Hobby House.
Ribbon and buttons from stash.
Hope you like! I love the DP and the image. Think it all looks quite bright and cheerful.
See you tomorrow with my DT card for Totally Gorjuss.
Looking forward to the weekend and Bank Holidy Monday. Not sure why though because I think I am going to be busy at my daughter's flat lol!!

Sweet Princess!

Hi everyone I'm having a spot of deja vu here. I've already written most of this post and then it vanished. I'm not a happy bunny as you can imagine as I have lots to do!! I've made this card this morning in spite of the fact that I need to get 2 DT cards made lol! But I've been wanting to use this sweet princess.

I've used :-
Image :- Princess Tilda.
Sentiment :- Craftwork Cards.
Colouring :- Promarkers, Sakura clear glitter gel pen.
Flowers :- Wild Orchid Crafts.
DP :- Papermania rose garden.
Stickles.
Pearls :- the Hobby House.
Glittery gems, ribbons and charm from stash.
I'm going to enter a few challenges with this card :-
Just Magnolia :- Anything goes.
Totally Papercrafts :- 4 embellishments, 3 papers, 2 ribbons and 1 image.
Stamp Something :- Charm/s.
Friday Sketchers :- Sketch.
I hope I've got the 4 embellishments part right for Totally Papercrafts. I'm a bit confused about whether it is 4 of one embellishment or 4 different embellishments. So I've used 4 pearls and 4 jewels. But as well as these 2 embellishments I've also got flowers and a charm ie 4 different embellishments.
Now I'd best get on with my DT cards. I always mean to be organised earlier in the week but somehow it never happens. I was really looking forward to having the day off next Monday for the bank holiday but somehow I think I'm going to be busy doing other things like decorating lol!
Hope you're all having a lovely day. Here it is really nice but apparently the weather will be back to normal tomorrow!

Just Cute Bears #14 Jane's Sketch

Oops I just found out a wee while ago that I had scheduled this post without actually writing anything! My internet was playing up the other night so I think I probably scheduled it and then couldn't get online to write it up. And then of course I forgot I hadn't done it. This is my second try tonight. I have already written it all up and then when I went to post it it couldn't do it and I was left with nothing but the pics. I'm sure anyone who saw my post before about 9pm probably thought I was nuts since all there was to see was 2 pics!

I've had a second day of scraping paper so I'm a bit tired (to say the least)! Lucky Mhairi, she had to go to work at 3.30 and left her Dad , brother and me to get on with it. At least by the time I finish work at 5.30 it's too late to go away in to Aberdeen to do anything. Roll on next weekend lol! Knowing my luck she'll have a day off on Thursday (like me) and I'll have to go shopping with her.

Anyway enough about my exciting weekend.

This week at Just Cute Bears we have a lovely sketch from my talented teamie Jane. Thanks Jane this is a great sketch to work with.

We are sponsored again by the ever generous Kim at Cuddly Buddly. If you have never visited Cuddly Buddly you really should pop over soon. They have lots of other goodies as well as their own lovely ranges of stamps plus digi stamps and download papers. Isn't this a little cutie?

This is my DT card this week. Hope you like it and please leave me a comment if you have time. I hope you can visit my talented teamies too and leave them a comment, they have made some gorgeous cards this week.

I used :-
Image :- Forever Friends.
DP :- Craft Creations.
Colouring :- Promarkers.
Flowers :- Prima.
Sentiment :- Craftwork Cards.
Flower brads and pearls from stash.
I'm looking forward to visiting your blogs and seeing how you've interpreted Jane's sketch. I love seeing what you've made every week you are all very talented crafters. I'm off to visit my teamies' blogs now, rather later than usual but I love to see what they've made. And of course it postpones having to get on with my ironing lol!

Monochrome Picnic.

Hi everyone. I was going to post this card last night but my broadband suddenly decided to let me have only local access. Criticism didn't help so in the end I had to give up! So I hope I'm not too late for the Penny Black Saturday Challenge which is monochrome, shades of brown this week. I couldn't think what to do at first as most of my PB stamps are hedgies, dogs, mice etc. Then I had an idea that I could stamp this image in Brushed Corduroy Distress Ink and add brown DP, flowers etc. Not sure if it's worked ok or not. I edged the DP and image and distressed round the image (very badly) with brushed corduroy DI too.

I'm a bit short of time now so I'll just tell you what I used :-

DP :- sorry no idea as it is double sided and there is no name on it.
Colouring :- Distress Ink. Promarkers (on the hedgie and mouse).
Sentiment and card candy :- Craftwork Cards.
Flowers :- not sure but might be Prima.
Cream lace from Quixotic Paperie and brown ribbon from stash.
Cream card from local paper mill.
I am also going to enter some more challenges:-
Passion for Promarkers - In the garden.
Crafty Creations - Distressing.
That's probably me for the day now. I need to finish a DT card but I also need to have my lunch and go to work! I was going to a crop tomorrow but my daughter is off to get the keys to her flat now so I think I am booked for tomorrow for uncrafty things. Lucky me.

Just Magnolia 51.

Good afternoon everyone. Hope it's better than the morning has been!

Started off ok! I was just innocently emptying the dishwasher when disaster struck. I picked up a glass and the next thing it was in a thousand pieces all over the dishwasher and the floor. Of course the dogs were in the kitchen too. As you may know Lucy is blind and deaf so the only bits that really work properly are the nose and the mouth and they are usually on the floor. So I had to move pretty smartly and get them out of the disaster area, feed them and get them outside. Luckily my kitchen is quite big so after a quick sweep I could make and eat my breakfast. I had to go over to work to finish my weekly post office balance. Needless to say the glass and dog hair (Labrador is very helpfully casting just now!) was still in a pile when I went out. I also wanted to post my nephew's birthday present while I was out so then I managed to rip the paper just as I was about to put on the last piece of sellotape. Lucky cufflinks only make a very small parcel so I still had plenty of paper. I was hoping before I went out that one small cut would count as three things going wrong otherwise I would have been a bit nervous about going out in the car lol!

So I came back to sweep the floor...twice, then hoover it and rinse the dishwasher...twice. I even had bits out of the dishwasher that I didn't know came out lol! I just hate the idea of broken glass anywhere. Especially in the dishwasher. And I always worry about the dogs poor wee paws. So in spite of the fact that I was up about 6.30am as usual I didn't manage to sit down at the computere till about 11am. Didn't see my emails yesterday so I had to delete about 50 of them unread. I really hate the way these nutheads send out all that rubbish in the hope someone will be daft enough to open it and read it. Then I had a quick look at some blogs before starting this.

If anyone is still with me I'd best get onto my card lol! I made it the other day along with the one for my nephew but didn't post it as I was short of time and the ones I've posted already were more urgent.

I did the Just Magnolia blog hop recently and wanted to make a card to enter this weeks challenge. This week there is a lovely sketch to follow and the theme is "thank you." I also wanted to enter the Magnolia Down Under challenge who want to see masking on our cards. And the challenge over at One Stitch at a Time is also "thank you."

I used :-
Images :- Tilda and a tree stump.
DP :- Papermania rose garden.
Colouring :- Promarkers and Sakura clear glitter gel pen.
Sentiment :- Craftwork Cards.
Flowers :- Wild Orchid Crafts.
Pearls :- Hobby House.
Ribbon from Stash.
Nesties.
I think that's it and I'm off to make a start to my DT cards after my lunch. My daughter gets the keys to her flat tomorrow so I feel a spot of decorating coming on. Not something I'm very good at unfortunately.

Monochrome.

I'm a bit breathless here! I don't think I've ever made such a quick card!! I really wanted to enter the Charisma Cardz challenge and combine it with Penny Black. But I couldn't make my mind up what image to use. So I decided not to bother.....until I came up with this idea. Couldn't find a sketch to fit the image and one I could do quickly so I just threw this together.

DP :- Craftshouse.
Image :- Stampendous.
Sentiment :- Hero Arts.
Also used divine swirls folder on Whitewash core'dinations.
Nesties.
Ribbon from stash.
Card :- Craftwork Cards.
I hope this makes some sort of sense cos I'm trying to type without my glasses! Lucky I can touch type lol!

Donald's 18th!

Hi everyone. Just a quick post with this card I put together quickly this afternoon for my nephew's 18th birthday. When I say quickly I mean after I had spent ages cutting out the decoupage and putting it together. Once the decoupage was done it took no time but there are so many layers in this image...phew!!

I used:-
Image :- Gruffies decoupage sheet from Joanna Sheen.
DP :- Me and My Big Ideas.
Sentiment :- Craftwork Cards
Buttons, ribbon and numeral stickers from stash.
I'm going to enter a couple of challenges with this card too :-
Papertake Weekly :- A great sketch from Dawny P.
Paperplay :- Use stickers.....think I'm pushing my luck here!
A Spoon Full of Sugar Happy Birthday.
Now off to feed and walk the dogs and make the tea. I have a WRI committee meeting tonight and we are going to sort out our syllabus for next year from September to June. Doesn't sound too bad but we always get sidetracked and start yakking about other things so it takes all night. I really wanted to make something else but no chance I think! I have another card to post but that will need to wait till later or tomorrow.

Happy Birthday!

Hi everyone, this has been a good day....I've got a card made lol! I've really missed getting any cards made recently. All I seem to have done is my DT cards and commenting and trying to catch up with my favourite blogs. I'll need to try to get up to speed though as my daughter should get the keys to her first flat on Friday and I have a feeling I'm going to be busy with other things. I'm not really that good at painting....bit too slap dash lol! But I can strip wallpaper and paste it and I suppose I can clean and scrub. What fun....don't I lead an exciting life? And then I'm going to be having my other daughter's Labrador while they are on holiday. She's a lovely dog and no bother but.....and there's always a but isn't there? We live in the country and at the moment we're surrounded by lambs and calves and she's quite loopy. Not always easy to hang onto her lead but, fingers crossed, I've always managed so far. Luckily my Labrador doesn't need a lead and my Spaniel is so decrepit that she doesn't have any notion of going for a walk.

But enough waffle, I need to tell you about my card before I check out what DT commenting I need to do before I do my ironing!

I love this cute bear from Whiff of Joy and I think he's ideal for a birthday card for a child. I think he's good for a card for anyone actually but I've been trying to make some child cards for Catriona as with two littles ones she probably has more use for them than I do. Even my youngest nephew will be 15 this year.

I used:-
DP :- Paper Adventures - check and spotty paper and Doodlebug Designs.
Colouring :- Promarkers, Sakura clear glitter gel pen (on icing and spotty paper).
Sentiment :- Craftwork Cards.
Distress Ink in bundled sage round edges.
Buttons and glittery gems from stash.
Nesties.
I'm entering a few challenges with this card :-
Whiff of Joy :- Image and green, yellow and one other colour.
Sophisticat :- So Distressing.
ABC challenge :- S for sparkle.
Cute Card Thursday :- Touchy Feely - buttons, jewels and glitter - hope this is ok.
Create 4 Fun :- Circles.
Well I'm off to do something useful. I should probably get on with an 18th birthday card for my nephew. I got his present yesterday so I just need the card.

Just Cute Bears 13 - One for the Boys.

Good morning everyone and here we are with another Just Cute Bears challenge. This week we would like to see "One for the Boys." Kim at Cuddly Buddly is generously sponsoring us again and this is the little cutie that the winner will receive. Isn't he sweet?

I'm not quite sure about my DT card. I think maybe it looks a bit busy...what do you think? The colours are a bit stronger than this in real life. I did take the picture outside but it was about 7pm!

Image :- Elzybells.
DP :- DCWV (I think).
Colouring :- Promarkers.
Nesties.
Ribbons and string from my stash.
I was going to make a card for my nephew's 18th birthday which is next Friday but I changed my mind as I'm going to decoupage a Gruffies image and I thought this would be quicker to make.
I hope you can find time to enter our challenge. I think most people find male cards difficult to make, I know I do and I have a husband, son, son-in-law, three teenage nephews and now a grandsonto make cards for. Probably cards for little boys are easier than most male cards. Looking forward to seeing what you've made this week.
Enjoy the rest of your weekend,

Just Cute Bears #12 Flowers.

Hello everyone, it's Sunday again and time for another challenge at Just Cute Bears. This week we would like to see flowers on your project and of course a bear! You could have flowers on your DP, on your image and even add some. You could even do all three!!

And just look at the little cutie you could win this week courtesy of Kim at Cuddly Buddly. Isn't that the sweetest little bear? Just imagine the gorgeous, girly cards you could make with her!

This week my card is very pink lol! I've used some papers that I got in the Making Cards magazine. They are from the Nancy Watt Collection and also come in a very bright zingy green. I love this pink. I also used Prima flowers and pearls, a Forever Friends image and a Craftwork Cards sentiment. I found this lovely bright pink ribbon in my stash. All the matting is Bazzill card and I used my Nesties to cut out.

I hope you like my card and I'd be really pleased if you have time to leave me a comment. I'm looking forward to visiting your blogs this week to see how you've interpreted our "Flower" challenge. All you need to do is add your new card or layout to Mr Linky before 6pm (GMT) on Saturday 17th April.
Enjoy the rest of your weekend.

Hello everyone. Time for another challenge from Totally Gorjuss. This week the challenge is "Touchy Feely" - we'd like to see some texture on your card or project. We are sponsored by Meyer Imports who have lots of glittery goodies.

I've coloured this lovely Anya with Promarkers and a Spica glitter gel pen. My gorgeous glittery, textured DP is Penny Lane from MME. I embossed some of the Bazzill with the Swiss Dots folder for some more texture. I used retro punches to cut out some flowers from the DP and plain Bazzill. The sentiment and card candy is from Craftwork Cards and I've finished off with some jewels and ribbon. And I think that's it!

I'm going to enter some challenges with this card :-

Cupcake :- Make your own flowers.
Anyone for Anya :- Anything goes.
Pile it On :- Easel card.

There is a blog hop starting over at the Flower Soft blog. One of the DT is Jacque who as well as making wonderful cards is a very inspiring lady. Sugar Bowl 32.

Good evening everyone. I've just made this card for the Sugar Bowl challenge. I'm a bit last minute with it but not as late as I have been in the past lol! As I'm sure I've said before I don't know why I always end up at the last minute since there are two weeks to enter.

This week we can use whatever sketch we fancy from previous challenges so I've chosen to use the sketch from challenge 20.

I've used :-
DP :- K&Co.
Colouring :- Promarkers.
Flowers and flat back pearls :- Prima.
Sentiment :- Craftwork Cards.
I'm off to check out how much commenting I need to do to catch up with Just Cute Bears and Totally Gorjuss. I was trying to catch up last night after being away for 3 days without the internet but my internet connection was being very awkward. One minute I could do something the next it was acting up so I had to give up in disgust. Patience is not a strong point lol!!
Hope to see you tomorrow with something else. It's my day off and I'm always optimistic but somehow it never works out as planned.

Just Cute Bears 11 Spring Colours.

Hello everyone. Happy Easter. Hope you are having a lovely weekend. As this is Sunday I am in Crieff in Perthshire visiting my daughter and her family.

This week at Just Cute Bears we would like you to make a card or layout or whatever you fancy making using the Spring colours yellow and green. Don't these colours just make you think of Spring and better weather and longer days! I don't know about the rest of you but here in Scotland we have had horrendous weather this week. From Monday to Wednesday we have had strong winds and snow. As I write this on Thursday it is a beautiful sunny day but still very windy and very, very cold!!

This week we are again sponsored by the ever generous Kim at Cuddly Buddly. This is the beautiful stamp you can win this week. Isn't that cute!

Here is the card I made to (hopefully) help to inspire you.

I have used the lovely "Flower Bear" stamp from Hobby Art. I love The Bear. This is quite a small wooden stamp but you get larger versions of him too doing all sorts of things. There are also some clear stamps available in this range. The check DP is from Paper Adventures and the daffodil one is a scrap from my scrap box. I think it is printed from a cd a long time ago. I coloured with Promarkers with a Spica glitter gel pen for the butterfly and a Sakura clear gel pen for the flowers. The sentiment and card candy are from Craftwork Cards. I coloured the card candy and edged the sentiment with Promarker to match. Jewels, ribbon and flowers from my stash. The flowers are Prima edged with Promarker.
This month we are very lucky to have a guest designer. The very talented Helen has very kindly agreed to join us for the whole month of April. You really must pop over to her blog and check out her fabulous work. You're in for a real treat.
I hope you can find time to join us this week. I'm looking forward to seeing your lovely Spring colour creations this week. There were some gorgeous Easter cards last week. Well done everyone.
Enjoy the rest of your weekend.

Today I'd like to show you my DT card for Totally Gorjuss. Net has given us a lovely sketch to follow this week. It is quite a straightforward sketch but you can easily add some bits and pieces to suit yourself. We would like you to use a gorgeous image and make a new card....no back-linking please!!

I used:-

DP :- Basic Grey - Kioshi.

Image :- Gorjuss Girl from Sugar Nellies.

Flowers :- Wild Orchid Crafts.

Sentiment :- Craftwork Cards.

Leaves :- Nellie Snellen punch.

Ribbon and jewels from stash.

Hope you like girls and pop over to Totally Gorjuss to check out Net's lovely sketch. We all love to visit your blogs and see your gorgeous creations, you are all very talented ladies.

I'm going to enter some challenges with this card too :-

Papertake Weekly :- Open theme.

I'm hoping Mr Blogger has been kind to me today and posted this. I am away visiting my daughter this weekend after work today so I won't be able to check out your entries until Monday.

Oliver's name hanging.

I was going to enter the Allsorts challenge which is "Rags to riches" ie to alter something. Unfortunately I am too late!!
I think it also fit the Creative Inspirations Sunday challenge :- Anything but a card.

What I altered is 6 beer mats like this one. A friend got some for a few of us and I have already made a name hanging for Poppy. So I decided that Oliver needs one too.

This is what I made. I covered both sides of the beer mats with some lovely double sided Fancy Pants DP. The other side is striped like the letters. I rounded the corners of the paper to fit the beer mats and edged with a cloudy blue Adirondack paint dabber. The letters were cut out using my Cricut and added to the squares with foam pads. I used some of the smaller Penny Black images from different sets of transparent stamps. These were coloured with Promarkers, cut out and attached with foam pads. I also added some buttons to each square. I tied each square to the next one with grosgrain ribbon. I hope Catriona likes it. Oliver is a bit too young to have an opinion lol!!

I'm really looking forward to seeing them all tomorrow. We will not be home till some time on Monday so after tonight I am not going to be able to visit my favourite blogs till then. By the time it comes to Monday I am going to be really missing blogging.
Enjoy your weekend, see you on Monday.

Butterflies and Bees.

Good afternoon everyone and I hope it is as lovely where you are as it is here in Aberdeenshire. I should add that I am pretty far East, not far from the North Sea.....just in case it is not so nice inland lol!

I've made a very quick card this morning. I've been racking my brains about the Penny Black challenge. I knew the butterflies part was not a problem but the bees??? It was only when I went to look for some stamps to finish Oliver's hanging that I realised I did have two stamps with bees. This one which I added to the cat with the flowers and butterflies and one with a big fat bee! So I have made a really simple and quick card.

I am also entering some more challenges with it.

Secret Crafter :- Pink, green and flowers.
Basic Grey :- Tutti Frutti.

I think I've met these challenges ok!

I used
DP :- Basic Grey nook and pantry.
Images :- Penny Black.
Flowers :- Prima.
Sentiment :- Craftwork Cards.
Colouring :- Promarkers plus Sakura clear gel pen.
Ribbon, brads and jewels from stash.
I think that's it then. Best get a move on and find time to have some lunch before work.
Enjoy your weekend everyone especially if you have a holiday on Monday too. Don't eat too much chocolate....as if!!

Pretty Magnolia.

Hello everyone. I feel as if I haven't posted for ages! I was going to go to Papercrafts in Elgin, the home of Sugar Nellies, with my friend today. Notice the "was"! Because of the snow and high winds everywhere in Scotland earlier this week we decided it would be better to postpone our trip for a couple of weeks. So instead I've made sure I had my DT cards done and my posts scheduled for Saturday and Sunday. I'll be away visiting my daughter and her family at the weekend so I thought it would be better if I got myself organised now.

But I really wanted to make a card just for a couple of challenges, so here it is.

I used:-

DP :- K& Co.
Image :- Magnolia.
Colouring :- Promarkers plus Sakura clear glitter gel pen.
Flowers :- Wild Orchid Crafts, sprayed with Tattered rose Glimmer Mist.
Sentiment :- Craftwork Cards edged with Promarker.
Stickles, jewels and nesties.
Faux stitching with American Crafts Precision pen.
Challenges entered:-
Just Magnolia :- Sketch.
Magnolia Down Under. :- Stitching.
Now I need to do some work on my name hanging for Oliver and put the finishing touches to his and Poppy's Easter cards.
See you all soon.
