Less is More 21 Sketch.

Just a quick post with my effort for the Less is More challenge which is a great sketch this week.

I really admire all you girls who work full time and still manage to blog, enter challenges, be on DTs etc. This is my second week of working full time and I'm struggling to have enough time to get everything done!

I used :-
Snowflakes :- Martha Stewart punch.
Card candy :- Craftwork Cards.
DP :- MME.
Sentiment :- Penny Black.

I love this sketch, I can see it could be used for lots of different occasions for a really quick card.

Thanks for looking and I hope I can catch up with you all at the weekend.

A Very Simple Card!

Hi everyone, I thought I'd just show you a card I made the other week. Its very simple and plain and originally I made it for the Less is More challenge which was One Layer - In the Frame. I did manage to make a card and enter the challenge but this was just an extra one I made but never got round to posting. Normally I would have 3D'd the flowers but since it was supposed to be one layer I just left it as it is.

I used :-
Image :- Hero Arts.
Colouring :- Promarkers.

Not a lot to say about this card. I love that image, it's really useful for a quick thank you card. Really easy to colour and quick to make even if you 3D the flowers.

I've had a quick visit to some blogs tonight so now I'd better catch up with my DT work.

Thanks for looking.

Raspberries - Yum!!

Just a quick post cos as usual I've been prevaricating about doing my ironing!! I don't mind ironing but at the moment I've not got much time to craft and lots to do!!

I can't resist House Mouse and isn't this cute. Though I have to admit I was wishing I had some of the new fine Promarker tips when I was colouring in this image lol!

I used :-
Image :- House Mouse from one of the Summer sets.
DP :- Paper Adventures.
The blue gingham is stamped with a Waltzingmouse stamp and Stampin' Up Bashful Blue ink.
Colouring :- Promarkers.
Sentiment & card candy :- Craftwork Cards.
Retro flower punch, daisy punch and pearls.

I'm entering the following challenges :-
House Mouse :-Summer.
Papertake Weekly :- Here comes the sun. Hope this is ok for that challenge!
Stampin for the weekend :- My favourite things - House Mouse image, card candy and flowers.

I think that's all I need to say, I've got another card to post but I'd best just do the ironing for now and hope to catch up with you all tomorrow. Thanks for looking.

Good morning everyone and I can hardly believe another week has passed so quickly and it's time for another challenge over at Totally Gorjuss. This week we are sponsored by the generous people at Fantastic Ribbons for out "ribbons and lace" challenge.

I used :-
Image :- Gorjuss Girl from Personal Impressions.
DP :- Tilda.
Colouring :- Promarkers and Sakura glitter gel pen.
Flowers :- Wild Orchid.

I love my new Gorjuss Girl! The set also includes a little sentiment tag, a heart and a bow. It's a clear set, really easy to use and stamps to give a really crisp image.

Hope you like and thanks for looking. We had some lovely cards last week with pearls and swirls so I'm looking forward to seeing your cards and projects using ribbon and lace this week.

Cheerful Get Well Card!

Well I think it is lol! I made this card for my friend's husband who has just had a wee operation. I meant to have made it in time to give it to her for him when we went to the car treasure hunt on Friday. Didn't happen! I've posted it now so I hope I can remember what I used.

I 3D'd the little mice but I don't know if you can see that on the second pic. I even threaded the buttons which was not a lot of fun as they're so small but I was scared in case Kath saw naked buttons on my blog lol!

I used :-
Image :- Penny Black.
Sentiment :- Hero Arts.
DP :- Basic Grey - White Paper.
Card Candy :- Craftwork Cards.
Stampin' Up! punch, buttons from stash, faux stitching with American Crafts pen.

I'm entering the following challenges :-
Penny Black :- Pesky Critters!
Cupcake :- Sketch.
Secret Crafter :- Something from around the house - typewriter.
Creative Inspirations challenge :- Stitching.
Cards for Men :- Stars.

I'm not really very impressed with this card. I think I thought too much about it and it looked better in my head! Sometimes I get on better when I haven't much time.

I'm off to enter these challenges and then see if I can get some DT work done.

Thanks for looking and feel free to tell me what you think. You can be honest with me, I promise I won't cry!

House Mouse 97 Adorn with Jewels.

Don't you just love this image? These little mice are so sweet, aren't they. I love House Mouse images!  They are some of my favourites along with Penny Blacks and Hero Arts. So I just had to join in with the challenge at House Mouse which is "adorn with jewels" - add lots of bling.

I used :-
Image :- House Mouse.
Sentiment :- Craftwork Cards.
DP :- Tilda.
Colouring :- Promarkers.
Pearls :- Hobby House.
Lace & ribbon :- Ribbon Girl.
Flower :- Wild Orchid.
Sakura glitter gel pen, Glamour Dust and nesties.

I'm also entering the following challenges :-
ABC :- W is for Wedding.
Pollycraft :- Ribbon and flowers.
Passion for Promarkers :- Here comes the bride.

Hope you like! I think this is quite a sweet image for a wedding card. It's also good for an engagement card or a Valentine so quite a versatile image.

Now I need to think up something for a Get Well card. My friend's husband is going in to hospital for an operation tomorrow. I think it's more difficult to make a Get Well card for a man, or is it just me? I'll really need to check out my stamps lol! I've got some really cute LOTV stamps but I'm not sure if one of them would be ok or not.

Hope I can get time to do some more cardmaking after tea. I still have ironing to do so I might do that first and get it out of the way.

Catch up with you all later I hope.

Totally Gorjuss 85 - Pearls and Swirls.

Good morning everyone it's Saturday again and time for a lovely new challenge at Totally Gorjuss. We had lots of gorgeous entries last week, you all love your flowers don't you? Pop over to the blog to see who won if you haven't done so already. You can also check out my talented teamies cards for this week's challenge. I think you'll like our challenge this week. It's a really easy one again this time, pearls and swirls. How easy is that!?

I used :-
Image :- LOTV.
DP :- DCWV.
Sentiment :- Craftwork Cards.
Pearls :- Hobby House.
Swirl :- Cottage Cutz.
Punch :- Martha Stewart.
String, Glamour Dust and Sakura clear glitter gel pen.

I used the sketch from Truly Scrumptious so I'm entering their challenge.

I'm quite pleased with this card as I didn't have much time to make it. I've no idea what happened to the time this week. I seemed to have even less of it than usual! To crown it all when I was trying to schedule this post last night after my WRI car treasure hunt it refused to save and kept saying there was a mistake keeping it from saving. So I gave up in disgust. I checked the html and I couldn't find what the problem was! Does anyone else ever have this problem or is it just me?

Anyway I'd best get this scheduled now and go and have a shower and get to work. I've got a crop this afternoon so I'll catch up with you all later.

Thanks for looking and for any comments you might have time to leave. I really enjoy hearing what you think of my cards.

Less is More 19 One Layer - In the Frame.

Hi everyone, just a quick post as it is very late and I need to go to bed! I made this card for one of my friends who is a leader with the Sea Cadets at Peterhead and has just been given a special award for the work she does with them and has done for a number of years. She gives up a lot of her free time and she really deserves this award. I didn't have much time to make a card, don't know what has happened to my time this week!!

I used :-
Image : Hero Arts.
Sentiment :- Woodward.
Colouring :- Promarkers.
Sakura clear glitter gel pen.

Very simple but I'm quite pleased with it and I think it fits the challenge at Less is More which is One layer - in the frame.

I hope I can get some time to get my DT card made tomorrow. At least I'm up to date with my DT commenting! I have a car treasure hunt with the WRI tomorrow evening. It's usually very popular and we get quite a lot of cars so we manage to make some money between the entries and the raffle. I went out and bought some raffle prizes today so tomorrow I just need to sort out the 1st, 2nd and 3rd prizes plus a gift voucher for the compiler. I did my traybake tonight after being out at my friends so my husband can cut it for me tomorrow. Yummy, I love rocky road but I'll try to be good and not eat any lol! Unfortunately I need to go into work in the morning for an hour to let my colleague take her elderly Mum to a doctor's appointment. Poor lady isn't feeling at all well so I'm glad to help out even if I am busy tomorrow.

Thanks for looking and hope you can find a minute to let me know what you think.

Usually I do most of my washing and ironing on a Sunday and wouldn't you know it yesterday was lovely and today is horrible. Sometimes it was dry but there were some nasty showers so it was the tumble drier for me lol!

I managed to find some time to make a Father's Day card for my husband. Lucky him!

I used :-
Image :- LOTV.
DP :- DCWV.
Sentiment & Card Candy :- Craftwork Cards.
Colouring :- Promarkers.

Totally Gorjuss - 84 - Flower Power.

Hello everyone, I'm a bit late this week! I'm at my daughter's house babysitting and I didn't have time to schedule a post before I left home last night.

I hope the weather is better where you are, it's really wet and miserable here. It's a shame because one of the parks has been closed for renovation and it's the official opening today with stalls and all sorts of entertainment. Too wet to go because it's a wee bit of a walk and anyone who knows Crieff will tell you what a hilly town it is!

Thanks to everyone who joined us last week, it was fun to see how you interpreted Net's sketch. Don't forget to pop over to Totally Gorjuss to see who won last week and also to check out my talented teamies cards to inspire you this week. This week our theme is "Flower Power", so we'd like to see flowers on your creations. You can add flowers, use floral DP or image or all three, just whatever you like. And we're sponsored by Crafter's Companion so with £10 to spend in their online store you could treat yourself to anything you like.

I used :-
Image :- LOTV
DP :- Tilda. (I think but I'll check when I go home)
Ribbon :- Ribbon Girl.
Pearls :- Hobby House.

I don't even know if there are any challenges I can enter with this card I'll have a look later if Oliver goes for a nap. Failing that I'll have a look after they go to bed.

I'm entering this card in the following challenges :-
Lili of the Valley :- Anything goes.
A Spoon Full of Sugar :- Here comes summer.

Enjoy your weekend and thanks for looking.

Less is More 18 Monochrome.

Just a quick post to show what I made for the Less is More challenge which is monochrome this week.

I used :-
Image & sentiment :- Hero Arts.
DP :- MME.

I stamped the butterfly on the card and on some DP, added a scrap of DP and a sentiment and finished off with some clear jewels. Quick card, hope you like.

My little card also fits the challenge at Creative Card Crew which is "wings."

Thanks for looking.

A Simple Acceptance Card.

Hi everyone, hope you are all well and looking forward to the weekend. I am. Tomorrow after work we're going to my daughter's to babysit. She has to work all day on Saturday so we're going to have fun with Poppy and Oliver. Depending on the weather we might go to the park. One of the parks in Crieff has been closed for a while to have a bit of a makeover. Hope there aren't the nasty showers we've had here today. It has definitely been a day of sunshine and showers! I was very lucky to get out for all of my walks with the dogs nice and dry.

I managed to get my DT card done for Saturday and then made an acceptance card for an evening reception. My friend's middle son is getting married on the 9th of July. They live further south where we come from but his fiancee comes from near here. They met while studying at Aberdeen University so the wedding is there and the reception is not far from us. I'm really looking forward to catching up with my friend's Mum and the rest of her family and lots of mutual friends. My friend and I first met at the Young Farmers quite a long time ago!!

The invitation is very simple and elegant and I've tried to echo the colour of it when I made my card.

I used:-
Pearlescent cream card :- The Papeterie.
Sentiment :- Woodware.
Jewels :- Hobby House.
Nesties & Martha Stewart edge punch.
The reply was printed on the computer.

You won't believe this but it took me ages to make this simple card. The invitation was handmade and I kinda wanted to prove to myself that I could make a stylish reply. I edged the front of the card with a Martha Stewart edge punch.I added dark turquoise to the inside and finished the inside with a computer printed reply on matching paper. I stamped "acceptance" on matching card cut with a scalloped nestie layered onto a plain rectangle of dark turquoise and finished with some small jewels. I'm quite pleased with how it turned out but I can't believe how long it took to make lol!

Now I'm off to try out some ideas for a LIM card.

Thanks for looking.

Pink and Girly!

Hi everyone. After my exciting time at the Girls Want to Have Fun with Kath, Debbi and Anne on Saturday I haven't achieved anything else this week. Luckily my friend came over today and I made this card. My younger daughter's birthday is on Monday so maybe she'll get this card. I love this image, these PB hedgies are so cute aren't they. And I bought this gorgeous glittery paper at the Papeterie on Saturday. It's a lovely pad, half is glittered and the other half is double-sided, yummy.

I used :-
Image :- Penny Black.
DP :- First Edition.
Sentiment :- Craftwork Cards.
Colouring :- Promarkers.
Flowers :- Prima.
Ribbon :- Ribbon Girl.
Glamour Dust, shimmer dots.
I'm entering the following challenges with this card :-
Fussy and Fancy :- 3DPs, 2 embellishments and 1 ribbon.
A Spoon Full of Sugar :-Flower power.
Creative Card Crew :- For a Diva.
Papertake Weekly :- Sketch.
Penny Black Saturday Challenge :-For the Girlies.
Stamp Something :- Use a sentiment.
Totally Papercrafts :-Pink and Girly.

Well I think that's me for now. Tomorrow I have a day off and there's a few things I'm hoping to do. For a start I need to sort out 3 parcels of candy for the winners of my birthday candy and get them posted.

Thanks for looking and I'm off to catch up with my DT commenting and visiting my favourite blogs.
