Hi everyone, I don't know what it's been like with you but here in coastal Aberdeenshire it's been a beautiful day. This morning everything was really white with frost but it's been lovely and sunny all day now.
Yesterday after work I went to a crop at my local craft shop. It was so nice to see the girls again. Some I have seen recently but some not since November. We had to cancel our December crop so we had our Secret Santa yesterday. I got a lovely box with a pen set and two lovely zip purses which will be useful for change. Then most of us stayed to have a carry out Chinese meal and a chat.
So here's what I made. The first is just a little card with some scraps inspired by
Kath. Hope I'm not a complete copycat. This is my first attempt at using the Aquamarkers that I won some time ago. It's not much but I've made a start. The stamps are Hero Arts. I stamped the flower on the Kraft card and then stamped again on white card and layered it with foam pads.
The second card is for a couple of challenges. I've been playing around using my Hero Arts background stamps and Distress Inks. As you can see I've used my favourite colours lol!
I used :-
Image :- LOTV cute square.
Background paper :- Hero Arts Large Canvas Stripes and Dots and Flowers.
Sentiment :- Craftwork Cards.
Ribbon :- Ribbon Girl.
Pearls :- Hobby House.
A touch of Promarker round the sentiment.
I'm hoping to enter the following challenges :-
Creative Inspirations :- Valentine/Love.
Fussy and Fancy :- Valentine with no red or pink.
I think that's all for now. I'll need to try to catch up with my DT commenting for
Totally Gorjuss. Our challenge this week is "As you like it" so I think we might get a big entry. So do pop over I'm sure you could enter!
Now I need to organise tea and sandwiches for tomorrow. I'm at work all day though I have to come home and let the pups out at lunchtime. If I could get them at peace long enough I could get a pic to show you how big they are now. I also have to make sandwiches for my husband for the first time for six weeks!! He always had 2 weeks over Christmas and New Year. This time they finished a week early due to lack of work. And then when they should have gone back to work the firm had gone into liquidation. We found out on the previous Friday when we saw it on the 6 o'clock news. No warning in spite of the fact it said in the paper next day that all the workers had been told on Friday afternoon!! But now he has at last found work after the horrible experience of having to visit the Job Centre and sign on. Worst of all was the letter saying he wouldn't get any money. When he phoned they blamed it on a computer glitch! Excuse me? Needless to say the amount you get is a lot less than he ever paid in NI contributions in a week. He's worked since he was 16, most of that time as a self-employed farmer, till he saw sense and got a job that paid money. It really makes me mad as working in the Post Office I come into contact with the neither work nor want brigade every day and it makes me furious. This includes people who have never worked in their lives, mainly because they have absolutely no notion of working. Sorry I'm getting a bit stroppy now! I have absolutely no problem with people who have become unemployed through no fault of their own, or who are disabled or ill but the bone idle, workshy ones make me absolutely furious. They get everything they want as they know how to work the system and they go about buying things I can't afford and we both work. Grrrrr... I haven't mentioned my house husband before as I didn't want to moan and depress people but I'm just so relieved that he's found a new job, not what he usually does at the moment but hopefully in a few weeks when his new firm starts another job he'll be doing what he's qualified for.
Sorry to ramble everyone. I'll go off now and have my tea.
Thanks for looking and hope you like.
