What hot Summer Days?

Funnily enough it's been a lovely day here today! Windy so not that hot but at least it was sunny and dry. Except when my husband was going to the nearest town and he met a shower not far from here. Guess we were lucky here!

But it seems to be a hot summer day where House Mouse is! And he looks as if he's enjoying the coolness of that lemonade lol!!

I used :-
Image :- House Mouse.
DP :- Marianne Designs.
Colouring :- Promarkers and Flexmarkers.
Sentiment :- Craftwork Cards.
Pearls :- Hobby House.
Flowers :- Nellie Snellen punches.

I'm entering the following challenges :-
House Mouse :- Liquid refreshments for hot summer days.
Joanna Sheen :- Summer Daze.
Crafty Cardmakers :- Create Your Own Flowers.

Two posts in one day! Not like me at all but I've had this image half coloured for a few days and time is running out to enter the House Mouse challenge so I thought I'd best get it finished and get a card made. But then I'm sure you can guess what happened. Yes, you're right my Internet connection vanished for a while.

Well I'd best stop waffling and get this posted. Enjoy the rest of the weekend and surprise, surprise I'll be back tomorrow with another card!

Thanks for looking.

Totally Gorjuss 138 - Sweet and Simple.

Good morning everyone. Can you believe it's the 30th of June already? Certainly the weather doesn't seem like June weather. The only decent day we had this past week was Tuesday. Last weekend we went to my daughter's and Poppy's sports was on Saturday. The weather wasn't brilliant and Catriona and Poppy went off both wearing wellies! And the sports did take place. I think the weather improved after Poppy's age group had their races! Sunday was a bit better. But we've been very lucky compared to some of you girls down south. My teamie Sarah has pics on her blog of the floods at her house.

But we can only hope for an improvement in the weather optimists that we are!

This week at Totally Gorjuss our challenge is Sweet and Simple. We're sponsored by the lovely girls at Lili of the Valley and I've used one of their gorgeous images for my card. It's a very sweet image and I've tried to keep my card simple.

I used :-
Image and sentiment :- LOTV.
Colouring :- Promarkers.
Pearls :- Hobby House.
Glamour Dust, Sakura clear, glitter gel pen, ribbon & swiss dots embossing folder.

I'm entering the following challenges :-
Creative Inspirations :- Anything goes.
Charisma :- Anything goes.
Crafty Ribbons :- Clean and Simple.
Craft Your Days Away :- Teddy Bears.

I hope you can find time to visit my talented teamies and check out their beautiful "sweet and simple" cards this week. And have you seen the new release from LOTV? The new Summer Bears are gorgeous and if you win this week you could treat yourself!

As usual I'm at work this morning but I'll be popping round to check out the entries later. Looking forward to seeing your take on our theme.

Thanks for looking and I'd be delighted if you have time to leave me a comment.

Totally Gorjuss 137 - Something Yellow.

Good morning everyone and hopefully thanks to the miracle of scheduling Mr Blogger will have helpfully posted this for me while I'm busy getting ready to go off to visit my daughter and her family. We haven't seen them for ages for one reason and another so I'm really looking forward to seeing them all. Children change so much in a short time and photos, while better than nothing are just not the same as seeing them irl. The only thing that bothers me is whether the dogs can behave or not. At the moment they're lying sleeping, butter wouldn't melt in their mouths but Max tends to get a bit wound up and cheeky when he goes visiting. To crown it all as well as her old Labrador Catriona now has a 7 month old Labrador puppy too. Oh dear!!!

Anyway enough waffle, here's my DT card for Totally Gorjuss where our theme this week is "Something Yellow." Mmm.... I don't use much yellow even though I do like yellow but I could think of just the DP to use! We're sponsored by Meljens Designs this week and Melissa has very generously given each of the DT one of her gorgeous digi designs.

I used :-
Image :- Meljens Designs.
DP :- First Edition.
Colouring :- Promarkers and Flexmarkers.
Sentiment :- Hero Arts.
Bakers Twine :- Ribbon Girl.
Ribbon and buttons from stash.

I don't know how yellow this looks on your screen but irl it is quite yellow lol! And isn't that the cutest Dinosaur you've ever seen?

Challenges for this card :-
By the Cute and Girly :- Cute as a Button.
Paperplay :- Use a die.
Cute Card Thursday :- Here comes Summer.
Charisma Cardz :- Summer.
Papertake Weekly :- Bingo - I used ribbon, die cut and buttons.

I'll catch up this evening when Poppy and Oliver have gone to bed. Looking forward to seeing what you come up with this week, I enjoyed visiting you all last week and checking out your lovely "holiday" cards. Don't forget to pop over to Totally Gorjuss to see what my talented teamies have made this week.

Thanks for looking and don't forget to check out my blogaversary candy. Enjoy your weekend.

Sentiment :- LOTV.
DP :- Basic Grey.
Colouring :- Promarkers.
Card Candi :- Craftwork Cards.

Is it time yet?

Hi everyone and for once on my day off I've managed to make something while I've been trying to catch up with my recorded tv programmes. We're going to visit my daughter and family at the weekend so I won't get anything done then!

I liked the look of the sketch at Sketch Saturday and this is the result.

I used :-
Image :- LOTV.
Colouring :- Promarkers and Spica glitter gel pen on the stars.
DP :- First Edition.
Sentiment and Card Candi :- Craftwork cards.
Martha Stewart punches, Glamour Dust and gems.

I've also been thinking about the "Something Shiny" challenge at Less is More. This was a nice quick card, must keep this idea in mind for when I get short of time in November!

I used :-
Image :- Clarity Stamps.
Silver Mirri card, silver embossing powder and gems.

I don't know when I last used mirri card! I've got gold as well and even some coloured stuff.

It was my day off today and luckily I hadn't planned to go anywhere as the weather has turned ugly again. It was lovely and sunny yesterday but today the rain has come back. In fact at the moment it's really heavy! It was wet when I took the dogs out and I thought Max was going to refuse to go for a walk. He doesn't seem to like the rain. Funny that cos he loves to go into water and mud and lie in it! He walks round puddles but show him a ditch or a pool and he's in it up to his ears. Crazy dog!!

Well I think I'll have a look around my favourite blogs and catch up with my DT work and maybe even start another card.

Thanks for looking and have you seen my candy? Don't forget to check it out.

Have Yourself a Merry....

little Christmas. I might make some more Christmas cards in this style as it was so quick and easy to make. One of these cards which just sort of happens!!

DP :- First Edition.
Card candi :- Craftwork Cards.
Snowflakes :- Martha Stewart punches and small anonymous punch.
Arch tag die :- Sizzix.

Guess who just noticed today that it's my blogaversary. Can't believe I've been blogging for 3 years. The time has just flown! I've been looking out some candy for a while but never quite got round to taking a photo of it. I'll try to sort that out and come back with the details tomorrow.

Thanks for looking and the lovely comments you leave. I really like to read what you think about my little efforts. Don't forget to come back tomorrow to check out my candy.

Totally Gorjuss 136 - Holiday.

Good morning everyone and I hope you are in the mood to think about holidays since that is our theme this week at Totally Gorjuss. I started writing this on Thursday night as my WRI had a car treasure hunt last night. I knew I should have written it earlier in the week as I've had the card made since last Sunday. I had my post almost written when most of it disappeared. Not sure whether to blame Mr B or my laptop or internet connection. Hopefully the scheduling will work as I'm going to a crop after work today.

It's been a busy week! We had our WRI evening outing and meal on Wednesday. On Thursday I went to a blood donor session, did some shopping and came home to bake for the treasure hunt. I was supposed to go out in the evening but it was cancelled. Probably a good thing! The problem with the treasure hunt is that I work till 5.30, home at 5.45 and the cars leave between 6.30 and 7pm. So not much time to walk the dogs and eat! Still that's our main fundraiser and it is fun. Now enough waffle, here's my card. Isn't mousie enjoying the sun on his holiday?

I used :-
Image and sentiment :- House Mouse.
DP :- First Edition.
Colouring :- Promarkers.
Gems :- Hobby House.
Butterflies :- Martha Stewart punch.
Corner ;- Whimsy.
Nesties and tag punch.

We're sponsored by Heather's Hobbie Haven so don't forget to pop over to check out what's in stock.

I'm sure I'll probably have challenges to enter but I'll have to come back later and add them.

House Mouse :- Here comes the sun.
Cute Card Thursday :- Punch Drunk.
Simon Says Stamp :- Photo Inspiration.

Enjoy your weekend everyone and thanks for looking. If you can spare a minute to tell me what you think that would be great cos then I can visit you too.

Totally Gorjuss 135 - Sunshine.

Good morning everyone, hope the weather's going to be better today! The last two days have been foggy here in Aberdeenshire. Not very pleasant for June!!

This week our challenge at Totally Gorjuss is "Sunshine" - I wish! Not sure if this is a good interpretation of the theme or not. I was going to use zingy citrus colours but somehow used pink instead. Well to me sunshine means Summer, means flowers.

I used :-
Image & sentiment :- Hero Arts.
DP :- First Edition.
Colouring :- Promarkers.
Pearls :- Hobby House.
Tonic punch for flowers, tag punch and nesties.

As you can see I've used the same layout as the other day when I CASED Kath's card for the Penny Black challenge. I really like it! The layout I mean not my card!

I've been a bit behind with visiting at the end of the week. My daughter suggested meeting her and going into Aberdeen shopping on Thursday. Funnily enough she had a birthday on Wednesday! Apart from the present  I ended up buying the morning coffee, lunch and afternoon coffee. What are Mums for?

Catch you all later after my work. Thanks for looking and enjoy your weekend.

My favourite colour......

Hi everyone when I saw the Penny Black challenge I couldn't resist trying to CASE Kath's stunning card. I'm not sure if she'll approve of my effort but I really enjoyed making it. I used colours I really love and I quite like it. ok I'm lying I do like it and in fact I've been making another card using the same layout today.

I had Monday and Tuesday off for the Jubilee this week and I thought fantastic I'll get loads done. So did I? Well no, I got 2 cards made! Did anyone else find the same? I was so busy watching the Jubilee coverage that all my plans fell by the wayside. Never mind at least I had time off. I thought today would be busy at work as usual after a holiday but it wasn't too bad.

I used :-
Image :- Penny Black.
Sentiment :- Heritage.
DP :- Basic Grey.
Colouring :- Promarkers and Flexmarkers.
Flowers :- Daisy punch.
Gems :- Hobby House.
Tag punch, Nesties and ribbon.

I'm entering the following challenges :-

Secret Crafter :- Anything goes.
Cupcake :- Tag you're it.
Truly Scrumptious :- Flower power.
Penny Black and More at Allsorts :- All my favourite things - Penny Black stamp, Promarkers, gems and ribbon.

Well I'm off to finish my DT card for Saturday. It's my younger daughter's birthday today and since we were both at work today she wants me to go shopping with her tomorrow! Sounds expensive to me lol!

Well thanks for looking, if anyone does and even more thanks to anyone who leaves me a comment.

This is for you Daddy.

Good morning everyone. I'm enjoying another day off. I'll have to pay for it tomorrow but it's still nice to have the chance to stay at home and watch what's happening in London today.

I thought I'd get a lot of crafting done yesterday but needless to say I didn't! I did get this card made though and in plenty of time for Fathers' Day. Not like me to be so organised!

At last!!

This is the Christmas card I've been going to post for days now. I'm not sure what I've been doing with my time. I've visited my favourite blogs, done my DT commenting and managed to find time to read the papers but that's about it. But now I have 2 days off and I've no plans to go anywhere so maybe I'll get something done now!

I can't take any credit for this card. It was completely inspired by one that Kath made recently.  I hope she doesn't mind me using her idea. The red pad was really wet and my first few tries were very wet and very red. But on the other hand I think my sentiment could have been blacker, it doesn't show up very well.

I used :-
Sentiment :- Hobby Art.
Snowflakes :- Martha Stewart punch.
Card candi :- Craftwork Cards.
Distress Ink pad in Festive Berries.

I'm entering the following challenges :-
Christmas Card Challenges :- Sentiment only.
ABC Christmas :- K for keep it simple.

Well since I've made up my mind to get some crafting done today I'm off to have a look at the papers and have my coffee before I decide what to do.

Did you watch the Pageant on the Thames yesterday. It was really spectacular in spite of the rain. The weather here in Aberdeenshire, apart from a wee shower was much better. Well apart from the cold wind. You had to admire the Queen and the Duke for the way they stood there. At the moment I'm watching a recording of "All the Queen's Horses" from ITV last night and I've just seen the Queen looking very happy watching the Mounties and listening to the Tenors.

Thanks for looking and I'll catch you all later.

Totally Gorjuss 134 - Sketch.

Good morning everyone and I hope you are all well this fine June Saturday. I can't believe it's June already can you. I'm really glad it's Saturday and last and I'm so looking forward to having two days holiday on Monday and Tuesday. My boss thinks it's ridiculous, businesses losing money blah, blah, blah. Don't know what she's narking about because the shop's still open as normal even though the Post Office is shut. The girls in the shop never get a Monday holiday and they don't even close earlier.

This week we have one of Net's sketches for you and our usual sponsor Joanna Sheen. I'm sure I don't need to tell you what a great variety of goodies Joanna stocks.

And here's my take on it. As you can see I've turned it round to suit my image better.

I used :-
Image :- Penny Black.
Sentiment  & Candi :- Craftwork Cards.
Snowflake :- Martha Stewart punch.
Ribbon coloured with Promarker.
Cuttlebug embossing folder.
Stickles.

Does my choice of colour look a but un-Christmassy? I originally meant to use some First Edition Christmas papers which had parcels all over it. It didn't look right with this image so I decided just to keep the colour combo I'd chosen to match the paper!

Much as I like this image I'm not in any hurry to use it again. It was not a lot of fun trying to colour that sky!

Challenges for this card :-
Creative Inspirations :- Lots of sparkle.
Paperplay :- Two of something. 2 hedgies.
Oldie But a Goodie :- Anything Goes.

Well I'll let you get on girls but I'll definitely be back tomorrow with the really simple Christmas card I was going to post on Thursday. I ran out of time!

Thanks for looking and I'm looking forward to seeing how you interpret our sketch.

Kat xx

Penny Black Monochrome Magic.

Hi everyone, here I am with another Christmas card. Not the quick card I made the other day but a really quick one I've just finished. Not sure whether inking the edges took longest or cutting out the card. Maybe the cutting out since I had to do it twice after the first time round I had two separate pieces!

I used :-
Sentiment :- Penny Black.
Snowflake :- Martha Stewart punch.
Card candi and ribbon.

Challenges for this card :-
Penny Black :- Monochrome Magic.
Less is More :- Not a square.

I hope this is simple enough for less is more. I think it's probably a bit cheeky to enter either of the challenges!

I'm off to finish my hoovering now and have my lunch.

Thanks for looking and I'll catch up after work.
