Totally Gorjuss 125 Swirly Whirly.

Good morning everyone, Saturday again and it only seems like 2 minutes since last Saturday!

This week at Totally Gorjuss our theme is "Swirly Whirly. Now that's easy isn't it? We're sponsored by Meyer Imports so don't forget to pop over and see what they've got to tempt you.

I've made a "thinking of you card" this week so I've kept it quite simple. I bought this lovely new image from Inkylicious at the SECC the other week. It stamps beautifully and I think I'll use it a lot. I swithered about buying some of their ink dusters and didn't buy them. Of course I realised as soon as I got home that I should have bought them so I had to order them. This is the first time I've used them so I'm quite pleased with how the image turned out. I stamped the image in Versamark and embossed it before adding colour with the ink dusters.

I used :-
Image :- Inkylicious.
Colouring :- various colours of inkpads.
Embossing :- Cuttlebug - Divine Swirls.
Swirls :- Cottage Cutz.
Sentiment :- Hero Arts.
Ribbon.

I'm entering the following challenge this week ;-

Simon Says Stamp :- Anything goes.

I've had a bit of hassle with my broadband this week and had to phone the Post Office helpline. My router had to be re-set and I had a new password which I wrote down(!) Unfortunately I made a little mistake. It didn't affect my laptop but when I tried to use my ipad it wouldn't work. So back to the helpline again. The girl suggested different permutations of it in case I had got i's and 1's or 0's and O's mixed up. Still no luck so I had to phone again! Had to connect the ethernet cable again so it could be controlled by the girl on the helpline. As it turns out I had got all the letters and numerals correct but I'd managed to miss out one number grrr..... At least I was able to keep up with my DT commenting via my iphone or ipad till I could use my laptop again. Surely this week is going to be better? I've got a day off on Monday as it's a local holiday. But the following Monday is Easter Monday so we're working and the posties are off!

Well I'll catch up later today. My younger daughter is coming out to get her hair cut at the village hairdresser today so maybe we'll go for a coffee after that.

Thanks for looking and I really appreciate any comments you leave.

Bright Happy Birthday.

It's lucky I managed to make some cards yesterday since I haven't achieved anything today! I went to a blood donor session this morning followed by a quick trip to the Papeterie to check out their new supplies. I'm hoping to go there on Sunday as it's their 6th birthday at the weekend. They're going to have lots going on all weekend. Demos, makes and takes, special offers and Charlotte's famous cupcakes. I needed to get some card so it was the ideal chance to have a browse around and make a mental list of what I need (want). Then I nipped into Asda which took a wee while! So by the time had my lunch, checked my emails, looked at some of my favourite blogs it's now after 4pm!!

So here's a card I made with a new PB stamp I bought at the SECC recently. Isn't he cute?

I used :-
Image :- Penny Black.
Sentiment :- Craftwork Cards.
Colouring :- Promarkers.
DP :- Eline's Huis.
Lace, pearls, flowers and Glamour Dust.

I'm going to enter the following challenges :-
Passion for Promarkers :- Animals
Papertake Weekly :- Bingo - Die cuts, free and glitter.
Penny Black :- Anything Goes.

Friday morning - just realised I'd forgotten to include the Penny Black challenge!

Well it's a gorgeous day here again and I'm going to craft at a friend's house tonight so I'd best go and organise tea and walk the dogs.

Catch you all later and thanks for looking.

Totally Gorjuss 123 - Spring.

Oops guess who forgot to schedule this post. I remembered when I was brushing my teeth last night but decided to leave it till today after work.

This week at Totally Gorjuss our theme is "Spring." We are sponsored by Heather's Hobbie Haven. Have you checked out Heather's store yet? I'm sure you won't be disappointed!

I thought I'd make an Easter card for Poppy.

I used :-
Image :- LOTV.
Sentiment :- Personal Impressions.
Colouring :- Promarkers.
DP :- First Edition.
Butterflies :- Martha Stewart punch.
Glamour Dust, pearls and flowers.

I think I'm addicted to First Edition papers! This paper is from the Spring Drop pad which I bought at the SECC last Sunday. It's full of beautiful pastel designs. I love it. If you pop over to Totally Gorjuss you'll see that a few of us have added butterflies to our cards this week. Must be the gorgeous weather we've been having. Don't know about anywhere else but we've had some beautiful days in Aberdeenshire, including today.

I'm going to enter the following challenges :-
Colour Create :- Pink, blue, sage and white/cream.
Papertake Weekly :- One for the girls - it's for Poppy.
Allsorts :- Three in a row. If I'm being cheeky just delete my entry!
St Luke's Charity Cards Challenge :- Spring into Spring.
Joanna Sheen Challenge :- Spring/Easter.

I'm off to check out today's challenges now and get on with some crafting. The lady who's in charge of the orders for our communion tokens told me the other day she had an order for 20 cards so I think I'm going to be busy lol!

Have a lovely weekend everyone and thanks for looking.

What a helpful trio!

I've been a good girl this morning and did lots of housework before finishing off this card. I've made a couple of birthday cards for one of the girls at work and we also have some at work for everyone's birthday. Another of the girls asked if I'd make a New Home card for her and this is it.

I used :-
Image & Sentiment :- LOTV.
Colouring :- Promarkers.
DP :- DCWV - Linen Closet.
Card Candi :- Craftwork Cards.
Flowers :- Magnolia Doohickey die.
Lace.

I'd like to enter the following challenges :-

Crafting When We Can :- Animals.
Cupcake :- Going Dotty.

I'd best go and see if I can organise tea before I go to work.

Thanks for looking, catch up later.

Cards from WRI Show.

I keep thinking I'm getting back to normal and find that I haven't blogged for days - again!

I was at my own WRI meeting last night and decided to spend the afternoon baking for it. I did get some places so I suppose it was worth it. The problem is that now I have even more goodies to eat. As if I needed the extra calories lol!

This is my card for the congratulations card in any craft category. Luckily I'd taken a photo of it since I've completely lost it! I was in a bit of a hurry as I'd spent all Friday morning baking and making tablet and chutney. I thought I'd just use a congratulations card from my box but decided not to since I usually stamp the back of my cards with my name and realised this would not do for a show. Hence the use of the die cut as I didn't have much time to make the card and take all my entries to a friend to take to the show on Saturday! I thought the card was quite pretty but the judges preferred cards that looked as if they came straight from a kit. I've nothing against kits although I don't use them myself after all you can add your own touches but the winner looked as if anyone could have made it, no skill required. Not really a surprise as that's what usually happens.

I used :-
Image :- LOTV die cut.
Sentiments :- Craftwork Cards and Hero Arts.
Embossing :- Craft Concepts and Cuttlebug.
Ribbon, pearls and Glamour Dust.

This is my card for our co-operative table. The theme this year was the Diamond Jubilee. The six different items this year were a piece of headwear, a congratulations card, 6 cakes (2 varieties), 6 savouries (2 varieties), a jug of fruit punch and a craft item (own choice). We got good marks for all the items except the savouries which were very small and not what we expected. We got full marks for the layout and 9 1/2 for a couple of items including mine so I was quite chuffed about that. Later on I thought what didn't the judges like, what happened to the 1/2 mark lol!

I used :-
Image :- Hero Arts, stamped onto card and again on coloured DP and layered.
Sentiment :- Printed from computer.
Embossing :- Craft Concepts and Cuttlebug.
Ribbon, gems, Glamour Dust and black Stickles.

I'm entering the following challenge :-
Everybody Art :-Easel card.

Thanks for looking.

Chuffed!

Hi everyone, I've scheduled this as I'm off to the craft show at the SECC in Glasgow today. My friend and I were getting our bus at 6.30, and we're not the first on! I've not really been blogging this week because I had a WRI group show yesterday. My little branch is one of nine WRIs that come together competitively every March.    I don't usually show baking or produce but somehow this year I decided to bake and ended up spending the whole of Friday morning baking and making tablet and chutney. But it was worth it. When my friend and I went in yesterday morning and started to look around I was really surprised to find that I had got 3rd place for what they call Swiss milk toffee  - where I come from we would call it tablet. Then 3rd for my gluten free cheese biscuits. These will be popular with my younger daughter who is wheat intolerant, especially since she loves cheese. And I was even more surprised to find a 3rd place ticket on my Caramelised Onion Relish. As you can imagine by this time I was a very happy bunny. But the biggest surprise was getting 1st place for my no bake traybakes. I made Rocky Road because it always turns out well and everyone loves it. My friend only joined the WRI this session and this was the first time she had showed so she was really pleased to get two tickets. I was really chuffed for her because it's encouraging to get a place or even a highly commended for your troubles. We did reasonably well with our co-operative table. We were only let down by one item out of the six. I got 9 1/2 out of 10 for my congratulations card. I'll put it on when I get a photo taken.

What a waffle but it explains where I've been all week. Knitting and sewing up. Needless to say I didn't get anywhere with my knitting but all the jumpers are to be sent to Romania so at least it's of some use to someone. I knitted a hat too and it'll be going off too after our own mini show on Wednesday.

Catch up with you all tomorrow and I might even tell you what I bought at the SECC !!

Totally Gorjuss 122 - Anything Goes plus a button.

Good morning everyone is it really Saturday again. This week has just vanished! I've been busy all week trying to get my entries for our big WRI show today. I took my entries to one of my friends last night so she could take them in for me. They have to be in before 10am and then we can see everything and find out who the winners are in the afternoon. It's a busy weekend as some of us are off to the craft show at the SECC in Glasgow. Not sure what I need, if anything, but I'm looking forward to going. Internet's ok but it's nice to see things in real life and get your hands on them right away!

This week our theme is "Anything Goes" and we'd like you to add a button or buttons. Nice and easy and my teamies have made some lovely cards to inspire you. We're sponsored by these lovely people at Crafters' Companion who have lots of must haves to tempt you.

I used :-
Image :- Sugar Nellies.
Colouring :- Promarkers.
DP :- Craft Creations.

I made this card for my friend's son's partner's daughter. Does that make sense? My friend has just become a granny again and her son's partner has a little girl already. I thought it would be nice for her to get a card too. I haven't used this image since Oliver was born and Poppy became a big sister!

As I said I haven't been around much this week and I'm really missing seeing what my favourite bloggy friends have been doing. I'm hoping to get back to normal on Monday. I had to laugh at my colleague this afternoon. She was in the shop and she came over to the Post Office and asked if I was off on Monday. She must have forgotten and just happened to notice I had marked the calendar. Lucky really since there might not have been anyone working in there on Monday.

Thanks for looking and I'll catch up with you all this evening.

Totally Gorjuss121 - Sketch.

Good morning everyone, can't believe it's the beginning of March already. But here we are at the 3rd and it's time for another sketch challenge at Totally Gorjuss, sponsored as usual by the ever generous Joanna Sheen. I love a good sketch to work from and Net has given us some great sketches including this one.

And here's my take on it.

I used :-
Image :- Elzybells.
DP :- First Edition.
Colouring :- Promarkers.
Glamour Dust and pearls.

I stamped the eggs a few times so that I could pop them all up on sticky pads. I don't like orange (not even orange sweeties) but it seems to work here.

I hope you can join us this week, a sketch is a great start when you're making a card and you can't think where to start.

I'm entering the following challenges :-
Creative Inspirations :- Anything Goes.
Simon Says Stamp :- Anything Goes.
Cute Card Thursday :- Signs of Spring.

By the way my talented teamie Sarah has started a new challenge blog and a shop with some gorgeous goodies. She has also got a DT call so if you pop over to her blog or her challenge blog you could add your name.

Enjoy your weekend whatever you've got planned. I'm going to be a bit busy as I've got a WRI show next weekend and I've still got a few things to finish. As usual!! Last minute Aggie, that's me lol!

Thanks for looking and I'll catch you all later.
