Today is pretty miserable here after a few nice sunny days. But it's my day off and I don't need to go anywhere so I can craft. After the broadband fiasco last Friday evening (thank you BT!!) I want to be sure I've got my DT cards safely made and posted in plenty of time. Talking of broadband fiascos was anyone else affected yesterday? I read in the paper this morning it was the same problem as last Friday. Very reassuring....not! I was at work in the Post Office and suddenly nothing worked. The helpline was inaccessible. A reboot didn't help. Eventually got through to the helpline but of course it was a bad line and I could hardly hear...fantastic!! After the usual questions I asked if it was an internet problem as I had heard that a customer had no internet access. So he asked if I was phoning from Scotland and said there was a problem but BT were trying to fix it and the only thing I could do was to try to log in every so often. I think the problem occurred about 12 noon or just before and I could log in about 1.20. Luckily after first thing on Wednesday morning we are pretty quiet and I only had to turn a few customers away. Any other day I could have done my weekly balance but yesterday I had to go and get my hair cut at 1.30 so I just had time to do as much as possible and go back later. Grrrr..... Just shows you though that it might not be ideal for a business like the Post Office to be totally reliant on a broadband connection. I think some back-up would be a good idea.
Anyway here's the card I made when my friend came over yesterday afternoon. I thought I'd get a decent photo this morning but the weather is so miserable my photo isn't that good. I think it's also squint but I'm not in the mood for taking more photos. I took a cold on Tuesday. It's not that bad, I've had worse colds but I wouldn't need much encouragement to have a sore head lol! Having a cold is hardly a surprise, we sat in a bus with 51 other people for hours on Sunday going to the SECC and then spent several hours there with hundreds more. My friend said yesterday that she had a sore throat and expected her cold to develop!
I used :-
Image :- LOTV cute squares - no colouring needed!
Sentiment and Card Candy :- Craftwork Cards.
Background :- Cuttlebug embossing folders, Snowflakes and Swiss Dots.
Ribbon from stash.
Promarkers to colour card candy and edge sentiment.
Glue pen and glitter and Sakura clear glitter gel pen for image.
Faux stitching with Precision Pen.
I love these cute squares. My friend bought some at the LOTV stand at the SECC but I already had some so I bought a couple of stamps.
I'm going to enter these challenges :-
ABC Christmas :- Winter Wonderland - option white. Don't think my card is white enough for the option!
I'm off to have some lunch now and then get on with some crafting.
Thanks for looking
