More Get Well Cards.

Good morning everyone, hope you're all having a good weekend. Yesterday I went to a crop at my local craft shop and managed to make 2 cards. I made Get Well cards as I think they're handy to have. Last week I made one for Poppy so I thought I'd best have a boy one handy in case Oliver comes down with chickenpox too!

So here's my first card. I love House Mouse and isn't this a cute image? I can't help feeling this card's a bit bare looking but if I use it for my wee grandson I don't really want to put flowers on it!

I used :-
Image :- House Mouse.
Sentiment :- Hero Arts.
Colouring :- Promarkers.
DP :- DCWV.
Card Candy :- Craftwork Cards.

I'm going to enter the following challenges with this card :-
Passion for Promarkers:- One for the boys.
House Mouse :- Favourite stamp - love them all but I really love this one for Get Well cards!

My second card is girly with it's pink colour scheme and ribbon and flowers.

I used :-
Image :- LOTV.
DP :- Wild Rose Studio.
Sentiment :- Printworks.
Colouring :- Promarkers.
Ribbon :- Ribbon Girl.
Flowers :- Prima.
Pearls :- Hobby House.
Jewel brads & pink metal embellies from stash.
Sakura clear gel pen one shoes and glitter round image.

I'm entering the following challenges with this card :-
Lili of the Valley :- Circles.
Cute Card Thursday :- Sketch.
Stamp Something :- Something with flowers.
Dream Valley Challenges :- Anything Goes.

Hope you like and can find time to tell me what you can think.

Not sure if I'll be doing much next week as I have to work every day! My colleague's daughter gets married next Friday so she's having a week off. I've been so looking forward to this.....not! So the first time I get a day off is 10th March. What makes it worse is next Sunday a crowd of us are going to the craft show at the SECC next Sunday and I usually take the day off on the Monday. Obviously not this year. I'm going to be shattered on the Monday and probably crabbit (translation - bad tempered) too.

Thanks for looking and enjoy what's left of the weekend.

Totally Gorjuss 69 Black & One Other Colour.

Good morning everyone and I'm sure you're all glad it's Saturday. Time for another challenge over at Totally Gorjuss. First of all thanks to everyone who joined us last week for our "Check it out" challenge. You certainly like your checks and we had lots of lovely entries. This week we have another really easy challenge for you. We'd like you to make a card or layout using black and one other colour.

This week we are sponsored by Tando Creative. If you haven't come across them before just click on the link and pop over and have a look. I'm sure you'll like what they have in store.

So here's my card. It's very simple. Not exactly CAS, which I'm into at the moment, but not fancy either and not a lot to it.

I used :-
Image :- Chipboard flower from Tando Creative stamped with a dotty Stampin' Up! stamp.
Sentiment :- Craftwork Cards.
DP :- MME.
Bakers Twine :- The Ribbon Girl.
Button, lace ribbons and jewels from stash.

I only used one chipboard flower from a packet of 4 so with a few other bits and pieces you can make an inexpensive card with not too much effort.

I'd like to enter the following challenges :-
Papertake Weekly :- Sketch.
The Pink Elephant :- Buttons, lace and ribbon.

I hope you can find time to enter our challenge this week. Don't forget to pop over to Totally Gorjuss and see what my talented teamies have made to inspire you this week. I'm sure they'd love to hear what you think of their cards. If you've got time to leave me a wee comment I'd love to hear from you too.

Well after work this morning I'm going to a crop at my local craft shop so I'll catch up with you all later.

Enjoy your weekend.

Less is More #3

Hi everyone, I thought I'd show you a card I made last night for Less is More where the challenge this week is "Spring."

Not sure if I've achieved what I set out to do but I've enjoyed trying. I really like this challenge, it's good to try something different.

I used the lovely "Poppies" image from Penny Black and coloured it with Promarkers. I added sparkly black to the centres of the flowers with a Spica gel pen. I edged the nestie circle with the same Pale Pink Promarker and adhered it straight onto the card. The sentiment is from Hero Arts.

Yesterday Melly gave me this award.

Since I already got this award last week I'd just like to say if you fancy it please help yourself. And I won't bore you with the 8 interesting facts about me again lol!

I'd be really pleased if anyone has time to leave me a comment about my card. I promise not to be offended if you think it's rubbish!

Thanks for looking.

Sunday 20 February 2011

Birthday Hedgie.

Hi everyone I thought I'd show you the card I made for my husband's birthday.

I used :-
Image :- Penny Black.
Sentiment :- Craftwork Cards.
Background papers :- Blue spot is Bazzill, the other 3 are stamped with Hero Arts stamps using Distress Inks.
Colouring :- Promarkers.
Buttons and string from stash.
I'm going to enter the following challenges :-
Penny Black :- Men's Cards.
Easy Craft Projects :- Something for the boys.
Sketch Saturday :- Sketch.

Well I need to go and do my ironing now. I hope my work trousers are ok because I found them lying on the floor where some naughty puppy had left them.

Hope you like and if you've got a spare minute I'd love to hear what you think of my little card.

Catch up with you all tomorrow.

Totally Gorjuss 68 Check it out.

Hi everyone, doesn't Saturday come round really quickly every week. Pity there weren't more Saturdays and  Sundays in a week. Probably not that good an idea I suppose.  After all lots of people have to work at the weekend. I work almost every Saturday, but at least it's just the morning.

So it's time for another challenge at Totally Gorjuss. You seemed to like our "Love" challenge last week. We  had lots of entries and saw some amazing cards when I visited your blogs. If you haven't been over to the challenge blog yet remember to pop over to see who's won the prize from Crafter's Companion.

This week we are sponsored by Simon Says Stamp and I'm sure you know that they have a vast stock of goodies. If you haven't checked out their online shop yet you don't know what you've been missing.

Well this week our challenge is "Check it out." We'd like to see checks somewhere on your card or project. It could be DP, ribbon, whatever you like. I love checks and ginghams so I enjoyed this challenge.

Here's my card.

I made this for my son-in-law who's in car sales. And no he's not a dodgy salesman lol! He's a hard working honest guy who wouldn't sell you a bad car. Funnily enough my daughter was in car sales too and that's how they met. She has a different job now close to home as it's easier for her with two kiddies.

I used :-
Image :- LOTV cute square.
DP :- Wild Rose Studio and Craft Creations.
Sentiment :- Craftwork Cards.
Bakers' Twine :- The Ribbon Girl.
Ribbon and button from stash.

It was a bit lazy of me to use a cute square as I have this image in rubber too but I've had a lot  to do this week. Some days the pups are quite time consuming! And I had to go off to Aberdeen and get a present for my son-in-law. His birthday is next week and my husband is the day after. Not sure what he's getting, maybe some new jeans that actually fit him! Mmmm like I've got space to talk.

I'd like to enter the following challenges :-
Sketch and Stash :- Sketch and the Bakers' Twine is new stash.
Lili of the Valley :- Red & blue are my favourite colours for male cards.
Cards for Men :- 1 image, 2 DP & 3 embellishments (1 ribbon, 1 button and Bakers' twine.
Pile it on :- For the love of plaid.

Hope you like and maybe you could spare a minute to tell me what you think. Do take a minute to pop over to the blog and see the gorgeous work  from my teamies this week.

Thanks for looking and I'll catch up with you all later.

Little Miss Spotty!!

Hi everyone, are you all looking forward to the weekend? I am, even if I have to work on Saturday morning first before I get some time to myself!

The Little Miss Spotty in question is Poppy, she has Chickenpox!! It's been on the go and Catriona's just been waiting for Poppy's turn. Now she just has to wait for Oliver to get it. Luckily Catriona's had it too when she was 9. Poor Poppy really misses nursery but she'll soon be able to go back. This morning I decided to make a quick card for her and send it to her with some chocolate buttons. Probably should have sent buttons to Oliver too but he'll get his when he gets Chickenpox!

I used :-
Image :- LOTV coloured with Promarkers.
DP :- Love Letters from First Edition Paper. New & gorgeous isn't it?
Pearls :- Prima e.line.
Nesties, Cuttlebug Swiss Dots embossing folder.
Sentiment :- Craftwork Cards.
Sakura clear gel pen on shoes.
Seam binding :- Ribbon Girl.

I'm quite pleased with it for a quick card. Sometimes it's better not to have to much time to think lol!

I don't think it fits any challenges but if it does I'll come back and edit this post.

Thanks for looking and I'll be back tomorrow with my DT card for Totally Gorjuss. Which reminds me I saw that there were some new Gorjuss Girl stamps over at Funky Kits. I might have to pop over for a look, it's been a long time since we had any new Gorjuss Girls.

Off to catch up with my DT work now before it's time for the next challenge!

Two Awards and some Thank Yous.

First of  all thank you to everyone who left a kind comment after I told you about my silly fall last Friday. I'm a lot better now but I still get painful twinges if I try to move in some directions without thinking or reach out to get something. When I was hoovering at the same place today I kept a close eye on that sneaky hoover hose in case it tripped me up again  but I'm pleased to say it was on it's best behaviour today.

I got an award from Melly a wee while ago and I'm ashamed to say I forgot to post it. So here it is now! Thanks very much for thinking of me Melly and sorry this is me just posting it now.

I'm supposed to pass this on to 3-5 other blogs but there are so many other blogs that I love to visit that I can't choose so if you fancy it please help yourself.

The next award is from Linda. Thanks very much Linda. I'm supposed to pass it on to 8 other bloggers but again I'm going to cheat and say if you fancy this award please help yourself.
I'm also supposed to tell you 8 things about myself so here goes!
I'll be married 35 years this year.
I have 3 grown up children and 2 gorgeous grandchildren.
I have 2 black Labrador pups, who are gorgeous but can be naughty.
I've always crafted in some way - knitting, sewing, crochet, tapestry, cross stitch, beading and now cardmaking.
I love to bake but don't do much now that the kids are all left home.
I'm a member of local WRI.
I work in my local Post Office part-time.
I'm on 2 design teams.

Think that's all I can say really. Best do my Tesco online shopping now before I forget!

Less is More #2

Have you seen the Less is More challenge yet? I entered their first challenge last week and really enjoyed making a CAS card. This week the challenge is for a one layer card with flowers or trees.

Here's my card for the challenge.

I used :-
Image & Sentiment :- Hero Arts.
Colouring :- Promarkers.

I'd also like to enter the following challenges :-
Secret Crafter :- A stamped flower.

Well since it's Monday I'll be at work all day except for a quick trip home to take the pups out to the toilet. Did you see my photo of them? It's in the post below. Aren't they gorgeous? Probably only if you like dogs lol! And I do.

Thanks for looking and I'll catch up with you all later. If you have a minute to leave me a comment I'd love to hear what you think. I'm always encouraged by what other crafters have to say.

Simply Create February Challenge.

Well here  I  am last minute Aggie with my entry for  Jacqui's great challenge over  at Simply Create.

Actually I'm a bit  embarrassed to show you this card as the rest of the DT and other entrants have made such great cards and layouts. But time is running out you only have until 9am tomorrow morning, 14th February, to enter so I had to get a move on!

I used :-
Image & Sentiment :- Hero Arts.
DP :- Nitwits.
Ribbon & Bakers Twine :- Ribbon Girl.
Colouring :- Promarkers.
Card Candy :- Craftwork Cards.
Flower :- Prima.
Button :- available at Simply Create.

I managed to  take a photo of the pups, Max and Blue, this afternoon. They always like to be together and do everything together. The only way to get a photo is while they are asleep as you can see. They're not easy to photograph. My daughter's dog, a yellow labrador is much easier to photograph. Black ones are difficult, all I usually get is a black blur with red eyes!

Thanks for looking and I hope you like, probably my pups are nicer than my card lol. I'll probably amend this post later to include some challenges but I'd best go and organise tea now and sandwiches for tomorrow.

Here are the challenges I'd like to enter :-

Creative Card Crew :- For a loved one.
Papertake Weekly :- Have a heart.
Passion for Promarkers :- Let there be love.
Paperplay :- Hearts & flowers but not a Valentine.
Cute Card Thursday :- Hearts & Flowers.
Crafty Cardmakers :- Hearts.

Blog Candy Winner.

Hi everyone, just a quick post to let you know that my candy is now closed and the winner is Lorraine. Please get in touch with me by Tuesday at 12 noon  or I'll have to draw another winner.

Thanks to everyone who entered and hello to my new followers. Thanks for joining me, hope to see you often. I'll be back in the next few days with some more candy.

Totally Gorjuss 67 - Love.

Edited to add - remember my blog candy. It ends at 7pm, Saturday 12th February. You can find it here.

Hi everyone and here I am with another DT card for Totally Gorjuss. This week our theme is "Love." Now it could be a last minute Valentine or it could perhaps be a wedding card. I've chosen to make a wedding card. This wasn't what I had in mind but between one thing and another I had to make a card in a hurry!

On Thursday the pups were a bit (?) naughty. OK  they were really naughty so I didn't get much done. Then on Friday I had a nasty fall while I was hoovering. I tripped over either my hoover or the hose. I couldn't move, I just lay there and whimpered lol! I hit my back and side on the sharp corner of two walls. I had to sit down for a while. Poor me. I managed to finish the hoovering and make the tea and go to work. So after tea I had to make a quick card as I couldn't concentrate on the one that was half made. Lucky I'm into CAS at the moment and made this very quick card.

I used :-
Image :- LOTV.
Sentiment :- Craftwork Cards.
Ribbon :- The Ribbon Girl.
Pearls :- Hobby House.
Promarker for edges.
Glamour Dust.

I'm hoping to enter this card in the Spoon Full of Sugar challenge which is Let's see some love.

I hope you can find time to enter. It was lovely to see all the cards you made last week using Net's sketch so thanks to everyone who entered. This week we are sponsored by Crafter's Companion and you all know what lovely goodies you can buy there.

Thanks for looking and enjoy your weekend.

Thursday 10 February 2011

Not a good day!

Definitely not a good day. I haven't done anything useful today! Well I had lovely walk in the sunshine with the pups but they've spent most of the day being naughty.

Anyway here's the necklace I made at the WRI last night. I loved the patterned beads. They all look lilac here but in real life they're pinker than this!
And here's what I eventually got made this afternoon. Not very impressive! I think I'm not in the right frame of mind today. All the stamps I used are Hero Arts, stamped  with Distress Inks and the butterflies are coloured with Promarkers and popped up on foam pads for a bit of dimension.

Best go now and see what these two little pests are up to. Need to organise  tea and then I'm going out to make cards with friends.

Thanks for looking.

Less is More!

Hi everyone, I've been trying to write this post all morning. These pesky pups just won't lie down and behave today. If I leave them through where they sleep they lie down quite peacefully but I feel mean leaving them there when I'm at home. But if I bring them through beside me they just have a carry on! After I have my lunch they're going for a nice walk whether they want to or not.!! By the way my candy is open till Saturday. You can find the details here.

I found a new challenge called Less is More and I thought I'd enter my card there. The challenge colours are black, white and pink.

I used :-
Image & sentiment :- Hero Arts.
Card candy :- Craftwork Cards.
Colouring :- Promarkers.
Cuttlebug Swiss Dots folder, nesties, ribbon.

Really simple and quick. I think I like simple and  I'm going to do more CAS I think.

Last night was my WRI night. My cardmaking buddy, Susan, went with me. She's never been to anything like that before and really enjoyed it. We're a small group and everyone is really nice. Last night we had a hand on with beads. The demonstrator, Linda, let us have free reign with her beads. Most of us made either a necklace or a bracelet and we were all pretty pleased with ourselves. Only 3 people didn't make anything. One of our members NEVER tries anything! She's a bit of a stick in the mud. One lady has quite bad eyesight and the other is 80 and her eyesight isn't so good either. Not so long ago both of these ladies would have had a shot. But they enjoyed seeing what the rest of us made.

Susan said "I'm not getting into this" but she is quite tempted and I can see us looking at the beads etc when we go to the craft show at the SECC next month!

I'll take a pic of my necklace later and let you see it.

Off to have my lunch now and take my mutts for a walk. Thanks for looking and hope you have a minute to tell me what you think.

Hi everyone, just a quick post with my card for this week's Penny Black challenge. After a very boring and long day at work yesterday I managed to start this card last night. I ran out of time to finish it so after being a good girl and doing my housework I finished it this morning.
