Oh Christmas Tree!

Another post! I'm having a better day today for crafting. I made this card tonight to hopefully fit a few challenges. I used the sketch from the Truly Scrumptious challenge. They also want a sparkly flourish so I cut out a Sizzix flourish from silver glitter card and added some jewels for even more sparkle. I used the gorgeous MME Signature DP which I love. I used Promarkers to colour the sweet image from Sugar Nellies. I cut out the image with nesties and distressed the edge with Vintage Photo Distress Inks. I used a sentiment from Craftwork Cards and finished off with a Martha Stewart snowflake and a jewel.

I hope to enter the following challenges:-
Secret Crafter :- Christmas Trees.
Passion for Promarkers :- Vintage and any colour of Promarkers.
Truly Scrumptious :- Sketch plus sparkly flourish.
ABC :- I for indigo - papers.
Creatalicious Challenges :- Snowflakes and lots of sparkle.

I hope you like it! Now late as usual I'm going to do some ironing. Hope you all had a lovely weekend. Can't believe that's it almost over for another week. Time seems to be going rather quickly at the moment - or is it just me?

I won't be able to do anything tomorrow as I'm at work all day and then I have a Guild meeting. Since it is St. Andrew's Day we are having entertainment and soup and trifle. It probably won't be a late night so at least I might be able to start another card.

Quick Card!

Good evening girls. Hasn't it been wintry today. We have had rain, hail, wind......it's been really, really cold. I was glad to get back into the house at lunchtime and stay in. I could have got lots done if I hadn't had to make tea.

Using the lovely easy to use sketch from the Mojo Monday challenge. I love this sketch and it was so nice and easy to use that I made two cards. The other one is almost the same except I used a different Martha Stewart edge punch and I edged the image with green and matted it on blue and this one is edged in blue and matted on green. I added some jewels and flat pearls to give it a bit of a lift. The ribbon looks silver in the picture but it is actually greeny silver. I used the beautiful Wonderful Christmas DP from MME. This is one of my favourite DPs this year.

That's about all there is to say about this card! I think I may make some more variations of this card cos I still have a long way to go. I don't think I am even half way there yet. Panic!!!!

May see you later if I can get anything else done. Hope so LOL!!

Happy Christmas!

Good evening everyone. Tonight I have a card that I've just made for the Anyone for Anya challenge. I might be too late to enter but I love this sweet image and I thought it fitted well with the sketch from Paperplay.
I coloured the image with Promarkers as usual and added stickles to her muff, coat, scarf and boots - fake fur! I added strips of the DP for fake ribbon. The DP is the lovely Basic Grey Eskimo Kisses which I just got the other day. I added brads to the flowers and sprayed them with Glimmer Mist - think I may have overdone that lol! The sentiment is from Craftwork cards. These sentiments are really handy at this busy time of year. I finished with some little jewels and brads from my stash.
Challenges:-
Anyone for Anya :- fake fur and ribbon.
The Pink Elephant challenge :- something plaid, any number of brads and no ribbon.
Paperplay :- sketch.
It's still early so I think I'll see what else I can do tonight. Still a long way to go as far as Christmas cards are concerned. I really need to find something that is quick to do but still looks impressive! I'm pretty sure that a lot of people I send cards to would be quite impressed by any card that was hand made. I know that sounds bad but I'm sure you know what I mean.
Feel free to comment. I like to know what you think of my work and I'd like to visit your blogs and see what you've been doing and I can only do that if I know you've been here.

Well girls it's Friday again and here we are with another challenge from Totally Gorjuss. This week we would like you to make "anything but a card." So there you are - for your chance to win all you need to do is enter "anything but a card. Simple.

Ok I know this looks like a card but believe me it is a gift card holder! I made a gift card holder a while ago but I could really do with some more for my nieces and nephews.

I used the sketch from Sketch and Stash. Great sketch, really easy to use. My DP is DCWV rose tinted Christmas which I have had since last year. I coloured the lovely gorjuss Girl from Sugar Nellies with my Promarkers. I used a House Mouse "To/From" stamp inside - I just didn't ink the House Mouse LOL!! I finished off with some lace, card candy a Martha Stewart snowflake and jewels. The corners to hold the gift card were cut out using a punch.

The other challenges I'm hoping to enter are :-

Cupcake - A gift card holder.

Papertake Weekly - Christmas.

A Spoon Full of Sugar - Brown and pink.

Charisma Cardz - Christmas.

Susie's Sassy Challenge - Pink and sparkly.

Creative Card Crew - Favourite things - snowflake, jewels and card candy.

I think that's all the challenges I'm entering! Now I'm off the do the Penny Black blog hop. I've only had all week to get it done......but I have been busy with other commitments.

Have a nice weekend girls and hope to see you tomorrow.

Santa Claws.

Hi girls what a beautiful day it is here today - lovely and sunny after the frost.

Today I have a card for the Penny Black Saturday Challenge. They are having a blog hop too and I am hoping to take part after work tonight. I followed the sketch from Sketch Saturday. It seemed to fit perfectly with this great image!

I coloured the image with Promarkers as usual and coloured over the brim of the hat and the pompom with a Sakura clear glitter gel pen. I finished off with a sentiment from Craftwork Cards and some flowers and pearls from my stash. The DP is Basic Grey Eskimo Kisses.

I am also entering:- the Basic Grey challenge - Glitz and bling.
The Allsorts challenge - A Christmas carol or song - Here comes Santa "Claws".
By the Cute and Girly -Winter Wonderland.

I'd best go now and get the tea organised before I go to work. Looking forward to the weekend. Hopefully I can get some more Christmas cards made. See you all later with my DT card for this week's challenge over at Totally Gorjuss.

Thursday Already!

Hi everyone. I've managed a post at last. Feel as if I haven't done very much for the past few weeks. I think I have it just doesn't feel like it! I've posted my DT card for the Totally Gorjuss challenge which is due tomorrow.
For this card I've used this lovely sketch from Create 4 Fun. I love a good sketch to get the ideas going. I've masked this sweet Tilda which just arrived today with my order from The Glitter Pot. They were really quick I just ordered on Tuesday - and Wednesday! And both orders arrived today. Fantastic service and great prices. My DP is the lovely MME wonderful winter again. and the snowflakes were made with a Martha Stewart punch. The sentiment is from Craftwork Cards and the gems and velvet ric rac ribbon are from my stash. Tilda has been coloured with Promarkers as usual. I'm entering this card in the Just Magnolia challenge.
Need to go now as I am going out to a friend's house for a crafting session.

Baby's 1st Christmas.

Hi everyone, it seems like ages since I posted....but it was just Friday! I made this card today for Oliver for his first Christmas. This is such a cute image from Janet at Pink Gem Designs. She has some gorgeous designs for Christmas and of course other occasions too. I am hoping to enter it in a couple of challenges:-

A Spoon Full of Sugar :- Baby's 1st Christmas.
Charisma Cardz :- Sketch.
Whimsy Challenge :- Christmas.
Pollycraft :- Anything Christmas.

Materials used:- Promarkers, Martha Stewart punch for snowflake. Finished with Card Candy from Craftwork Cards coloured with Promarker to match the image. Stickles added to image for a bit of sparkle. The DP is the gorgeous MME Colourful Christmas. I like it so much that I have bought some more!

Hope you like.

Today is Poppy's second birthday and Oliver is two weeks old already. We saw them at the weekend which was lovely. Grampa built a small part of Poppy's new outdoor play park LOL!! Some people might buy their little one a swing or a chute or whatever. My son-in-law has gone for the works. I think it might take Grampa quite a while to build the swing, chute, pirate boat etc, etc. The garage was full of long pieces of wood, pieces of metal, packets of screws and so on. I think it might have been better if he had had some help but son-in-law was at work. And to crown it all the weather was really nasty yesterday. Funny how Friday and today were both beautiful days but Saturday and Sunday were wet and miserable - typical.

Now I am off to play with some new goodies. I "had" to go into Stampaholics in Perth on Saturday and then I "had" to buy some new goodies. To crown it all when I got home last night there were two parcels waiting for me. One from Elaine at Quixotic Paperie and one from Craftwork Cards. So I have lots of nice new stash to play with.

Hope to see you tomorrow with a new card.

Totally Gorjuss for Christmas

Hi girls here I am with my DT card for challenge six at Totally Gorjuss. I have to own up that I have never inked the lovely bumblebee available from Funky Kits. I don't know why I have never got round to using her before because she is very pretty. I used this fabby sketch from Mojo Monday. I love their sketches. I coloured her with Promarkers. The hearts on her dress and in her hair are coloured with a Spica pen and the wings with a Sakura clear glitter gel pen. The DP is the lovely glittery MME wonderful winter and the sentiment is from Craftwork Cards. The snowflake is cut with a Martha Stewart punch and the jewel in the middle is coloured with a Promarker. The other jewels and ribbon are from my stash.

I hope you like my card and you will join us this week at Totally Gorjuss. Also you must check out my talented teamies blogs - they have made some fabby cards.

Looking forward to checking out your entries to our challenge. Don't forget there is a fantastic prize this week from Susie at Die Cut Dreams.

Isn't that fantastic. I wish I could enter, but hey one of you lucky ladies will win this great prize. All you have to do is enter, what have you got to lose?

Must go now and finish off the inside of Poppy's birthday card. Can't wait to see them all tomorrow. I'm sure there will be a big difference in Oliver after almost two weeks. They change so quickly when they are so young, don't they?

So hope you like my card and hope we get lots of entries this week. Remember you can enter with another girly image but if you use a Gorjuss Girl you get two chances to win.

See you all on Monday after a whole two days without crafting I will be itching to make something by Monday.

Sugar Bowl 23

Here I am girls at the last moment again!! This one is for the Sugar Bowl challenge. I've only had 2 weeks to get this done so there is really no excuse!

I coloured this lovely Gorjuss Girl, available from Funky Kits, with Promarkers. I made the card following the lovely sketch from Judy using K & Co sparkly sweet DP. The flowers are Prima and the lovely velvet ric rac, brads and jewels are from my stash.

I'm off to post this now, enter the challenge and go to bed - late as usual LOL!!

See you tomorrow...my day off, fantastic!!

Kat xx

I just realised that I forgot that this would fit the last challenge for Paper Blooms. I hope they have only stopped for a break and come back soon.
It also fits the Stamp Something challenge which is also "Thank You".

Blue Christmas.

Hi girls, I started making a card this afternoon but didn't make much progress before tea - thanks Tesco!

By the time I got back to it I realised that it was too late for the Colour Create challenge which is for blue, silver and white this time. Not to worry it is always another Christmas card.

I followe the fabby sketch from Friday Sketchers. The lovely Anya image is coloured with Promarkers and stickles used on her muff, edge of coat, boots and scarf. The sentiment and the image are both edged with silver. The sentiment is from Craftwork Cards.

Other challenges:-

Paperplay 2 papers, 1 ribbon and 3 buttons.
Anyone for Anya something round - buttons.
Pile it on 3 flowers and 5 pearls.
Creative Card Crew strings attached -silver thread with charm.
Secret Crafter seasons - Winter.

Hope I've got these right! Let me know what you think, if you've got time to leave a comment I can pop over to your blog and see what you've been doing.

Favourite Colour.

Good evening girls I have a card to show you that I made using my favourite colour - lilac. I hoped to enter several challenges with this one but I may be too late. Never mind here it is anyway!

I followed the lovely sketch from Stamp Something. I cut round the image from Hero Arts, coloured the flowers and edged it all with Promarkers. I popped the "thinking of you up on sticky pads to give a bit of dimension. I've added lots of faux stitching for the Quixotic Paperie challenge. It is a "thinking of you" card to fit the Simon Says Stamp challenge. I have used my new "thinking of you" stamp for the Creative Inspirations Wednesday challenge.

Hope I can be in time for some of these challenges. By for now and I'd love to hear what you think.

He's got a name - at last!!

Just a quick update to tell my bloggy buddies that "the baby" has a name at last. I had a text from Catriona at work this morning to tell me that they have chosen a name at last. She sent me a text yesterday to say that they had thought of 3 names and could we think of anything for or against any of them. I said that I knew of 2 little boys who had 2 of those names, remembered later who I had heard of with the third name (but not for a long time). Since I didn't hear from her again I thought I had put my foot in it and put them off the names!! But no this morning she said they had decided to call him Oliver Murray Robert. The middle names are for each Grampa. At the moment Poppy calls him Oliber but I'm sure she will soon be calling him Oliver LOL!

I've been a bad blogger cos I've been catching up with my favourite blogs and also commenting on the entries for the Totally Gorjuss challenge. If you haven't tried it yet why don't you pop over and check it out. We always have a nice simple challenge that you can easily combine with other challenges and we always have a prize. The other reason I have not been very productive is because I have been on some of my favourite internet sites doing some shopping!! How naughty of me!!!

Hope to see you tomorrow with a card.

Another Baby Card!

Hi everyone, here I am with another baby card that I made last night. I nearly missed getting a photo of it in daylight as I had to go out after lunchtime. It looks as if I have not been doing much as I haven't posted much during this last week but I have been busy. On Friday evening I made six cards, 2 sympathy and 4 thank you. There was a buttery morning in the church hall for Ekwendeni in Malawi. [NE Scotland girls will understand but for the rest of the UK (including the rest of Scotland) a buttery is a kind of roll. I'm an incomer to Aberdeenshire so I hope I have explained that properly lol!] Our card group had loads and loads of cards to sell but were a bit short of sympathy and thank you. Unfortunately we were put in another part of the building as someone said there was no room for us!! There was lots of space so some of our ladies were less than chuffed. Our organiser took some of the cards to the sales table as they had so little to sell! We saw very few people until the ladies who were serving the tea and coffee had tidied up and washed the cups. So we were pretty pleased to have raised £91 of the £400 total! After this we are hoping to have a basket of cards in the hall so that when people go for tea or coffee they can have a look and be aware that we do cards for all occasions. We only sold cards for £1.50 at the most but some people are so grippy (mean) that they won't pay any more. OK sorry rant over.

I made this card using this very sweet image from Pink Gem Designs. Janet has some gorgeous images. The baby ones are so sweet and there are some lovely new images for Christmas too.

I coloured this sweet baby boy with Promarkers to match this lovely DCWV nana's nursery DP. I love this paper. I used this image a few weeks ago and thought I had a boy card for my daughter and her husband plus her in-laws and a spare one in case my friend's daughter had a boy too. But.....and there's always a but isn't there? I gave my friend the wrong card. I gave her a blue one using this image and was left with two cards with the lovely Willow with baby from Whiff of Joy. Both completely different but using the same papers and image so I couldn't give one to Catriona and her in-laws, could I? Never mind now I have a spare baby boy as well as a baby girl card. They won't go wrong....someone's bound to need one sometime!! Bit like sympathy cards you can never have too many of them. All that's left to say about this card is that the lilac is Coredinations and the jewels and ribbon are from my stash. Oh and the lovely sketch is from Create 4 Fun. I love this sketch it is very easy to use and really shows off your DPs.

Wee update on baby's name....they have narrowed it down to three names now!! Told me earlier what the three were at last. When they eventually decide on his first name he is to have two middle names - one after each Grampa. Hopefully it will be decided before daddy goes back to work tomorrow or he will have people asking him all the time.

Thanks for looking, I'm off to make tea now and hopefully an evening of crafting. And I'll try to do my ironing too lol!!

Blue for Christmas.

Hello girls, I can hardly believe it's week 5 at Totally Gorjuss already. This week we would like you to use Blue for Christmas. Either blue on its own or with a little touch of colour.

I think my Gorjuss Girl is ready to put the star on top of the Christmas tree. I used the lovely sketch from Passion for Promarkers. Nice and simple and it shows off the lovely DP which is signature Christmas from MME. I love this paper it is all gorgeous and thick and sparkly. I coloured the lovely Gorjuss Girl with Promarkers. I added some snowflakes that I cut out using a Martha Stewart punch and added some gems that I coloured with Promarker too. I also added some card candy from Craftwork Cards and finished with a sentiment from Penny Black. Christmas is also the theme over at Susie's Sassy Challenge.

Hope you like and looking forward to browsing your blogs and looking at all your lovely Blue Christmas cards.

Thanks for looking and I'd love to hear what you think of my card.

Here he is!

Here he is then - the young man who kept us all waiting. I think he was worth the wait though. He was eventually born at 2.31 on Monday morning 13 days late. Catriona was induced on Saturday but her contractions were too strong and too close together so they had to calm things down a bit and things went very slowly on Sunday. She ended up having to have an epidural eventually. I thought she would have an easier time this time but no such luck. On Monday afternoon Poppy went to meet her little brother with Daddy. She loves him - luckily! My son-in-law took them from Dundee to Perth that afternoon and we managed to go down to Perth to see them that night after work. At less than a day old he is still very sleepy as you can see. On the way down in the car Poppy kept saying "baby sleeping mummy". I think she probably realises now that he does not sleep all the time lol!

Catriona thought they would not get home till Wednesday but I got a text about lunchtime on Tuesday to say that they were getting home so they must have been doing well to get home so quickly after such a traumatic time for them both. My other daughter went down on Tuesday afternoon and came back on Wednesday and she is quite smitten in spite of the fact that she always said she preferred little girls. She is devoted to Poppy!

So this is his lordship with his mummy. He was almost 9 lbs and is quite long so the newborn babygros she took in wouldn't fit and she had to get daddy to bring in the next size.

Not sure if you can see in the photos but he has very long fingers like his mummy. I couldn't believe when I went in how much hair he has. But Poppy had quite a lot of hair when she was born too.

Catrion took off his cardigan when she put him in his little cot because she thought he was feeling warm. Poppy is like that - she hates being too warm!

You can just see his Tigger at the corner of his cot. I couldn't resist it. I bought Poppy a Winnie the Pooh when she was born and she loves to take it to go to sleep. I hope our as yet un-named little one has a name soon. People are driving me nuts because they keep asking me what his name is. They couldn't agree on a name before he was born and since then they haven't had a minute to themselves to try to decide what to call him.

Hope you like him I can't wait to see him again.
Kat xx

Why Me?

I think this is a why me? day. I've done nothing all week and I thought I would get so much done today!! No chance!

I haven't made anything since Sunday so I thought great I'll get loads done today. 1st mistake was to read the papers. Then I had a look at some of my favourite blogs. Then I decided what I would do first. So I messed around and got a card made. So far so good. Then I took a photo...no problem. But....and you knew there was going to be a but didn't you? When I went to check it it said file error....what!!! Tried again and eventually the photo was there but none of the other photos that should have been on the memory card. Tried to upload the 1 photo to my laptop. No chance...nothing but error. So there seems to be one photo on the memory card but no way I can get it onto the laptop....grrr. So nothing for it but to go to Tesco which luckily is only about 10 minutes away but now it was after 3.30. So that took about half an hour altogether and the light's gone!!! But at least I've got a photo and it's here. I think I'm jinxed with cameras and printers.

On Monday after work we nipped down to Perth to see the new grandson. Only takes two hours or so - even allowing for two accidents south of Aberdeen. Then nothing is signposted very well at Perth Royal Infirmary and I misunderstood my son-in-law's directions about where to find the building Catriona was in after getting out of the car park. But we found our way in eventually long after the end of visiting and stayed for about an hour and then headed home. Only took about 6 hours altogether!!!

Enough waffle here is the card. I followed the fabby sketch at Friday Sketchers. I love this sketch, I think there is a lot you could do with it. I've kept it very plain for speed. (Yeah so much for that idea - stupid memory card!)

DP:- MME signature Christmas.
Card Candy and sentiment:- Craftwork Cards.
Snowflake:- Sizzix and glitter card.
Image:- Penny Black.
Colouring:- Watercolour pencils.
Snowflake edged with brushed corduroy Distress Ink and sentiment edged with brushed corduroy and broken china.

The other challenges I want to enter are:-
the Cupcake Craft challenge.
the Whimsy Stamps challlenge.
the Cute Card Thursday challenge.

As always thanks for looking and please let me know what you think I always like to read what you think. It's also nice to be able to visit your blogs and see your work too.

Nearly forgot tomorrow is the next Totally Gorjuss Challenge. I'm off to make my card and get it posted to the DT site in time for the challenge. Hope to see you there.

At Last!!

At last the baby has arrived. After a very long induced labour he arrived at 2.31 this morning weighing nearly 9lb. Catriona is fine but very tired and has to stay in a few days. Probably because she had an epidural. My son-in-law sent me a text but when I eventually got to sleep I must have been pretty sound because I didn't find it till the alarm went at 6.20. Haven't got a name yet and since they were told at the second scan that it was a boy I think he would have mentioned if it was a girl lol!!

So this is what I did last night to try and take my mind off things. I followed the text from A Spoon Full of Sugar challenge. I have ribbons and gems for the Creative Card Crew challenge. There are other challenges too but I need to go to work now!

I am also entering the Creative Inspirations Wednesday challenge as I used red and black. And lastly the Quixotic Paperie challenge which is for a birthday card.

I'll try to finish this post later.

Sunday 8 November 2009

Poppy.

I made this last night for Poppy to hang in her room. Whether the baby gets one or not depends on his (?) name lol. I'm sure I should be able to turn this round but I have no idea where to start. The DP is some lovely K&Co Brenda Walton double sided baby paper. I love it, the colours are lovely and soft. I have a baby boy pad too and soon I may be able to use it.

I made a close up of one of the letters to show the lovely flowers on the green paper. The pink has pretty little flowers too. I've kept it quite simple and just added some pale green pearls and some punched out flowers to the letters. I made the holes with the "Big Bite" and tied the squares together with some thin, pink organza ribbon. Nearly forgot the squares are beer mats that a friend got from someone. Originally she showed us how to make a standing or hanging NOEL decoration. I edged the squares with an Adirondack dabber in pink sherbet.
Poppy's room has a lot of pink in it so hopefully this will fit in with her curtains and cot covers. Hopefully I will see her soon. She is staying with her other granny just now who lives nearer her than we do. She doesn't know what is about to hit her!!!
I don't know whether to make tea today or not. With Catriona being in hospital just now I don't know when we can visit her. I haven't heard from my son-in-law for a couple of hours......I expect he doesn't want to leave Catriona.
I'm going to try to do something now to take my mind off things. See you all soon.

Bad Blogger!

I've been a really bad blogger this week! I've managed to do my Totally GorjussDT card and not a lot else. I was at a crop this afternoon at my local craft shop and didn't achieve much. I was at the theatre last night and didn't have time to sort out what I was going to do. So I ended up hurtling out of the house this morning on the way to work with lots of stuff I didn't need lol! I started making a little hanging for Poppy with her name. I've finished it now and if I can get a photo tomorrow I will post it to see what you think. I am quite pleased with it and I hope she likes it.

Catriona has now gone into hospital and my son-in-law has phoned to say she is comfortable, being well looked after and he has been sent home. So now I need to add inserts to their card and Poppy's card too. I also need to make a card for the other grandparents. I had made a few cards including one for a friend who became a granny two weeks ago. Unfortunately I gave my friend the wrong one! I still have 2 cards but both have the same sweet Whiff of Joy image of Willow with her baby. What an idiot! I got a new Messy Rabbit baby stamp the other day and I don't know whether to use it or one of the lovely Pink Gem baby stamps.

I hope to have some news soon for my lovely bloggy friends who have all left such kind and supportive comments about this baby. I'm off now to make some inserts for these cards and hopefully start one for the other grandparents.

See you tomorrow unless I'm somewhere else LOL!!

Totally Gorjuss 4 Bling!!

Here we are at the 4th Totally Gorjuss challenge already. This time it is bling and we all love bling, don't we? I am still in Christmas mode so I have used this lovely Gorjuss Girl image with what I imagine is her letter to Santa lol!

I used the lovely sketch from Truly Scrumptious who also want 3 flowers, 3 brads and 3 jewels or pearls. I used some lovely new Paper Adventures - Holiday Joy DP that I won from scrapjackie who was giving away blog candy every day last week. Thanks a lot Jackie. I got lots of matching DP, jewels, funky fibres and stamped images. These will be lovely for my Christmas cards.

The lovely image is coloured with Promarkers as usual and her hair is highlighted with a white Inkssentials opaque gel pen and I doodled round the image with a black American Crafts precision pen. The Creative Inspirations challenge blog is looking for doodling so I am going to enter there too. I glittered the edges of the flowers, which are cut out with EK Success punches, and added red jewels. I also used a Sakura clear glitter gel pen to add glitter to the brads! The flowers and sentiment are on foam pads for a bit of dimension.

This close up shows the glitter on the edges of the petals. There are also glittery stripes in the DP but I think it shows up better on the piccie of the whole card!

I hope lots of you are going to join us this week. Bling is something we all like, it's easy to add and I'm sure you can combine the Totally Gorjuss challenge with other challenges. So I'm hoping to see what you come up with this week. It's been great to see all your lovely cards so far.

Wasted Day!

Well I went to Aberdeen with Mhairi. Just for a wee while she said. A wee while.......we left at 9am and got home about 3pm!!! And I was seriously unimpressed by Hobbycrafts. I found it expensive and I couldn't find very much that I wanted to buy! My friend was in the other day and she said the colours of card they had were amazing, but......we are very spoiled because we all go to the local paper mill and you get great card and the price for a box or two is very reasonable. They also have a good stock of other lovely goodies. So it may be a while before I go back to Hobbycraft.

Now at last I have done my latest DT card for the next Totally Gorjuss challenge which starts tomorrow. I hope some of you are going to join us again this week. It is going to be another fun challenge and you can easily combine it with some of the other challenges that are around.

Hope to see you tomorrow.

Sugar Bowl 22.

Well here I am again. Second post today! I'm a bit late for the Sugarbowl challenge but I'm still in time to enter before midnight. I love this sketch, it was really easy to work with. I love this sweet Sugar Nellies image, available from Funky Kits, which I coloured with Promarkers. I have made a few cards with this image this year so far. I used the lovely MME merry days of Christmas DP again. Another favourite...! The lace is from Elaine at Quixotic Paperie. Elaine has lots of gorgeous goodies and at the moment is giving 10% off to celebrate her birthday. The snowflakes were cut using a Martha Stewart punch. I finished by adding jewels and pearls and some stickles to her coat and hat.

I'd best finish this now and enter the challenge before it is too late. I have a day off tomorrow and would usually stay at home and craft but....my daughter has asked if I would like to go into Aberdeen tomorrow to see the new shopping centre at Union Square. And as local girls will know we now have a Hobbycrafts in Aberdeen. I think she would be bored in there but I'm sure she can find plenty of other stores to visit LOL!!

Still no news of my other daughter and her baby!! At the moment if nothing has happened she has to go into hospital on Saturday to be induced. Poor Catriona is miserable. She is normally a tall size 8 so a big baby bump all at the front is making her very uncomfortable. She is tired but can't sleep and just wants it to be over. To make it worse she knows several girls who have already had their babies. Hopefully it can only be another 4 days at the most!!!

See you tomorrow.

White on White Challenges.

Another Christmas card. I made this last night but between work and a cardmaking session at a friend's house this is the first chance I have had to post it.

I followed the great sketch from the Mojo Monday challenge. I coloured this sweet Penny Black image and the Penny Black Saturday challenge and the Colour Create challenge both want white on white with colour only on the image. Then I thought it would fit the Charisma Cardz challenge which is no backing paper. And the Sophisticat challenge which is for buttons and ribbon.

I have use my favourite Cuttlebug snowflake and the new snowflake embossing folder I got at the SECC recently plus my old favourite swiss dots. I also use my new labels nine nestie for the image and the sentiment.

This second is a very simple made in a few minutes card I made late last night. This was inspired by a card that Clare (littlebear) posted yesterday to use up some scraps. I thought I would see what I could make to use up some scraps too. I love the idea but I'm not keen on the flower I put on it! I was in a hurry though lol! I used some paper from last year plus a piece of sticky ribbon and three flowers and a brad and finished off with a sentiment stamped straight onto the card and some sticky jewels.

Must go now, challenges to enter before the deadline.

See you soon,

Kat xx

Ho! Ho! Ho!

I've not had a busy day making cards today! I don't know where the time went.....I think I was catching up on blogs this afternoon and then my daughter phoned. So I didn't start making this card till after teatime. I think I can enter a few challenges with it though so that is always something. All in all I haven't had a very productive weekend. At least I am not out any evening next week ....as far as I know!!

I used the great sketch from Whimsy. It's a great sketch, easy to use but effective and you can dress it up a bit. I used a House Mouse image and on the House Mouse challengeyou have to have an aperture. Try as I might I can not get a photo to show that House Mouse is behind an aperture. I cut out the red frame using a scalloped nestie and a plain one and put it on top of the image with tiny sticky pads. On the photo it just looks as if I've layered the image on a piece of red card! So I hope you can take my word for it. The image has been coloured with Promarkers so it fits the Passion for Promarkers challenge for animals. I think it is cute and fuzzy to fit the Stamp Something. At least I think it is! Last of all Bizzy Becs Creatalicious challenges wants you to use only scraps of DP and add handmade flowers. Well I certainly used scraps of DP on this card. I've made a few cards with these papers so I have lots of scraps and fortunately I had some that were big enough for this card!! I have text on this card so it fits the challenge for Saturday Spotlight and One Stop Craft.

I used:-

Nesties, Martha Stewart punches, EK success punch and another punch. MME wonderful winter DP - lovely and glittery. Brads and jewel from stash.

I think that's about it. As usual I have left it a bit late to do my ironing LOL! Maybe I'll just do the things I need for tomorrow.
