DT Call and Blog Candy.

I just found out that there is a new company opening on 12th August and they are looking for people for a design team and are also offering blog candy. If you click on this link La-La Land Crafts you can find out all about them and how to take part. I think it's worth a look. I've had a nosey already!

Three Challenges.

I think this card will do for three challenges. I used the great sketch from Saturday Sketchers and turned it round 90 degrees. I watercoloured this lovely Whiff of Joy image and strawberries. I glazed the strawberries to make them look even more yummy! The Cute Card Thursday challenge is to include fruit and the Colour Create challenge is pink, orange and green this week. I couldn't believe when I saw the colours for Colour Create because these Basic Grey papers are just perfect colourwise. I ended up doing some of this card at work and finishing it off tonight. I was lucky enough to get a photo so now I just need to go and enter these challenges before I forget.
Did anyone see Marlene's gorgeous cards in the September issue of "Cardmaking and Papercraft." She has excelled herself. The colours, images and papers are just lovely. What a talented lady.
I'm going off now to enter these challenges and get some more crafting done as I am off to my daughter's new house tomorrow to see if there is anything I can do to help. They have successfully moved today but I'm sure there is still work to do tomorrow.
Have a nice weekend everyone, Kat x

Friday Sketchers and Penny Black.

Good morning, I'm quite early cos I'm not quite sure if I'm still in time for Friday Sketchers. The photo I took last night had a blurry hedgie so I had to give up. I used the sketch from Friday Sketchers and also the 3 ribbons, two flowers and a charm from Penny Black. Hope these can all be seen! The papers are wild asparagus from MME. Ribbon, jewels, brad, flowers and charm are from my stash. The cute hedgie is watercoloured.

Did anyone see Judy's article about stitching on your cards in the Sept issue of Craft Stamper? I got mine yesterday and have only had time for a quick look at it but I managed to read Judy's article. It is very good, I quite fancy trying stitching on my cards now. I've always been put off by the idea of hauling out my sewing machine but maybe if I got a mini one I would use it more readily. Worth a think anyway. So congrats to Judy on a great article and her usual fabby cards to illustrate it.

Have a good day. Kat x

Yes I was right I was too late. Wasn't sure when the cut off time was. Remind self not to be at the last minute!

Just Magnolia Card.

Well I got the Ruby Wedding Anniversary card made but I waited till this morning to take a photo. Then of course I didn't have enough time to upload the photos or write a new post. I used red for the base card and also for layering. The papers are from the Paper Company plus an old scrap for the vertical strip at the back. I love the cake stamp from Magnolia and watercoloured the ribbon and the little dots red. The sentiment is from Inkadinkado. Ribbon and little red pearls from my stash. The lovely heart buttons are a new buy by Craftime from Mad about Ribbons.
Now I want to try to do a card for Friday Sketchers. I am really fed up as I have had a totally wasted day at work. I think if I always had to work on a Thursday I would go totally nuts!! I have read two broadsheets from beginning to end, done sudokus and codebreakers in both. I read a card magazine and even did the crossword in it. I also read two and a half SWRI (like the WI in England) magazines and did crosswords in three. I even wrote two letters. And all the time all I could think was "if I wasn't in here I could be getting a lot done!"
Sorry to be a bit fed up. I don't mind going to work if I have something to do but days like this make me really annoyed. I'm sure our post office doesn't need to be open every day.
Now I can get on and do something I like doing - ie craft lol.
Thanks for looking, Kat x

Sugar Bowl Challenge

Hi here I am with my entry for the Sugar Bowl challenge. I used some lovely lilac pearlised card from my local paper mill for my base card and also for layering. I coloured the lovely Gorjuss Girl with Promarkers. The papers I used are from Basic Grey and I love the colours in them especially those two. (I'm not called lilackat for nothing!) The colours have not come out all that well unfortunately. I have taken photos all over the house and the lilac comes out a bit too blue!
The jewels, ribbon and flowers are from my stash. I have the same flowers in other colours but these are the last of these shades and I can't remember where I got them. As usual I have used my nesties to cut out the rectangles. The Cuttlebug and nesties are in constant use, don't know what I'd do without them. Now I need to make my friend's Ruby Wedding anniversary card.
Hope everyone is enjoying a nice day. Here in Aberdeenshire it has been lovely today. No rain - yet.
Have a good day.

Truly Scrumptious.

This is the card I made for my daughter and family who are moving on Friday. I hope they like it. I used the Truly Scrumptious sketch which I love. The papers are some of my favourite MME Bloom and Grow. I watercoloured a download image that I bought from Pink Petticoat. Their downloads are lovely and I bought a few! You get a page of 5 different ones with a sentiment and another without a sentiment. I used my nesties to cut ovals for a separate sentiment and just scribbled "enjoy". I punched out flowers from matching plain green and orange and some small ones from the floral paper. I stickled the clouds and the smoke. I have added beads to the trees and for a door handle as the Truly Scrumptious challenge is a sketch plus beads. The brads and jewels are from my stash.
Juls said she doesn't know if she has a style and I'm not sure I have either. I have particular colours or even just papers that I like but I tend to try to decide if a stamp fits the papers I want to use although sometimes I set my mind on a stamp and then try to find papers that will fit the image. Sometimes the sketch you choose points you to what else you will choose to fit it. Does any of this make sense? I need to do my Sugar Bowl entry now but I am running a bit late as my daughter phoned for what they call in Aberdeenshire " a news" lol. Then I need to find something that will suit a Ruby Wedding Anniversary card. One of my crafting friends is celebrating her anniversary with a barbecue on Sunday. With the kind of weather we have had this last week or so it may have to be an indoor do! Needless to say we are missing this as we are involved in the house move.
I'll go now and make a start on my next card. I really hate full time work. I think lots of people are on holiday up here so I spend most of my day reading the papers, doing sudokus etc and thinking what I could do if I wasn't at work. At least tomorrow is a half day in the Post Office.

What a Lovely Surprise!

I'm so excited I'm almost speechless. I can hardly believe that I've been lucky enough to win the set of nine new animal stamps designed by Alison Acton for Whiff of Joy. They are absolutely gorgeous. The DT made absolutely fabby creations for the blog hop on Saturday and I really enjoyed visiting all the blogs. Many thanks to Katharina for such a generous prize.
Annyone who knows me knows that lucky is not usually my middle name. So to win three prizes in one week is amazing. As well as a yummy download from Pink Petticoat I "had" (LOL) to buy some more downloads including some lovely images suitable for a new home card. I am hoping to post a new home card tomorrow morning.
I'm off to bed now tomorrow is going to be another long day at work.

Donalda's Candy

I just checked my blog updates and found out that Donalda is giving candy away to one of her followers. The candy runs until the 9th of August and Donalda will choose someone from her followers on the 10th. Have a look and see this lovely candy. You'll like it.

Whiff of Joy 40

I had a bit of a panic earlier because I couldn't download any pics from my camera to my laptop! Every time I tried I just got some sort of error. So I decided that maybe my camera needed charged. No, I still couldn't get it to work. I'm convinced that it was trying to download something that wasn't even on the camera. You know how there are pictures on your computer anyway, I think it was something like that. Then my daughter said is there a slot for a memory card on your laptop. So I took it out of the camera and put it in there and got my pics onto the laptop. Relief!
After all that I'm not sure about either the photos or the card. Neither of the photos actually shows the true colour. I think the second is maybe more accurate colour wise. I was convinced I wanted to do a card for a baby boy but I couldn't find paper I wanted to use. Having just done the white on white card I had the brainwave (?) of doing it all in plain blue embossed by my Cuttlebug. I used the same card as for the base card and embossed with d'vine swirls, swiss dots, perfectly paisley and baby. I also cut out the plain and scalloped rectangles with my nesties.
I don't know if it works or not. Maybe some of you can give me some feedback?
Probably time for bed now. Monday is always a long day at work. At least I've got my ironing done!
Kat x

Bizzy Becs Creatalicious Challenges.

I found this new monthly challenge blog while I was browsing a little while ago. It will be starting on the 15th of August and there is blog candy to be won until 13th August. They are also looking for DT members so if you're interested why not nip over there for a look. The DT call closes on 7th August so there is still time to send in an entry.

Another Win.

This has been a really good week! Today I found out I am one of five runners up on the Sketch Saturday challenge. I have won a "Crazy for cupcakes" workshop planner courtesy of Emma Lockley. Thanks very much for this lovely prize Emma and Sketch Saturday. On Tuesday I won a download from Pink Petticoat in the Papertake Weekly challenge so thanks to Liz from Pink Petticoat and also Papertake Weekly. Last but not least on Friday I received a Circle of Friends award from the lovely Juls. Many thanks Juls and also for all your support.

Now I really need to craft. I would like to make at least two cards today. As well as minor things like ironing, making the tea and even eating lol.

Enjoy the rest of your day and thanks for looking. Kat x

Whiff of Joy Blog Hop Candy

I have just been on the Whiff of Joy blog hop. I'm exhausted, I've been to so many blogs and seen so much fantastic work. I have a link to Whiff of Joy on my side bar as Katharina is offering two sets of the new fall stamps as blog hop candy. Why don't you hop over and have a look. Whiff of Joy stamps are gorgeous. The new fall stamps are designed by Elizabeth Bell and some text ones by Katharina herself. The blog hop features new animal stamps designed by Alison Acton. They are lovely and some of the creations on the blog hop are just amazing.

Have a look, you will love what you see.

Have a great weekend. Kat x

Midnight Madness.

By chance I found a website called priscillastyles which has a challenge called Midnight Madness. I liked the look of the sketch so I thought I would have a try! Having just finished a card which was white on white I decided that black would be good. I thought of Dovecraft "Hint of Pink". But some of it is a bit grey so instead I went for this Doodlebug Designs Black Swirl which is gorgeous. ( I also have it in white.) I used my nesties to cut out a white rectangle and a black scalloped rectangle. I watercoloured the image which is from Clarity Stamps. Brads, ribbons and flowers are from my stash. The only fiddly bit was making the brads and ribbon look as if it was a hanger for the image. I think it is not too bad lol. I'm quite pleased to have posted two cards today even though I just had to finish the white one. I think I work faster with colours I like. I don't have to think so hard!
Now I am off to think what to do next. I haven't done my Sugar Bowl card yet or Whiff of Joy or Truly Scrumptious!! I need to try to get ahead as I'm working full time next week and I'll only have evenings and Wednesday afternoon and then I'm visiting my daughter and family at the weekend - after they move house on Friday (while I have to work).

White on White.

I found a House Mouse challenge blog! I love House Mouse so I used the Mojo Monday sketch to make this card. I used my Cuttlebug and the Swiss Dots and Paisley folders to emboss white card. I used my oval nesties to cut out an oval and a scalloped oval. I used some of the Paisley card to cut out the scalloped oval just to give a bit of texture. The image of Amanda having a nap was watercoloured. I raised up the complete image to give a bit of depth. The ribbon and jewels are from my stash.
I was a bit dubious about white on white but I'm quite pleased with how it turned out! Before I make a card I usually spend a while trying to see what papers go best together and with the image so this was a change.
I hope you like it. If you do tell me what you think, I love to read your comments.

Circle of Friends Award.

Thank you so much Juls for passing on this award which you can see at the top of my side bar. It is the first award I have received and I am very chuffed. I have seen this on other people's blogs and it is lovely to have one of my own so thanks very much again Juls.

Now I have to pass it on to five other people. I would like to send it to: -
Judy whose work is always inspirational.
FionaJ who always makes me smile.
Judith who is sad just now.
Angela who always leaves kind comments.
Michelle cos I haven't heard from her for a wee while.

I can only send the award to five people but there are lots of people out there who inspire me and make me smile and leave me kind comments and soon this award will pass on to many more people.

I'm off now to let them know I've passed on the Circle of Friends award. Then I need to try to make a card as I've been doing housework this morning and work this afternoon so now I need to get creative. Have a good weekend everyone. Kat x

Look at this lovely blog candy.

I've been going round blogs congratulating the girls who have been chosen for the Sugar Nellies DT. On the way I found this blog candy. Michelle from Michelle's Scrap is giving away this lovely candy at Michelle's Scrap. Why not have a look, she is also giving 20% off her stock until the end of July.

My night out was cancelled so I am just catching up with blog updates, emails etc. I might even read the daily papers! I can also have a look at the Monday challenges I have started doing and see if I can come up with some ideas!
Kat x

Four Challenges.

This is a very simple card but it is a different shape, not rectangular or square so I am entering it for the Stamptacular Sunday challenge.

I haven't achieved as much as I hoped today and I am going out tonight - to make cards at a friend's house. Next week I am not going to be a very good blogger as my colleague is on holiday and I have to work full time. It is only one full day and two half days extra but it means I do not get my day off!
I have not got so much done as I hoped because I have messed around for ages this morning trying to find suitable blues to make this card (below). I don't have a lot of blue, not because I don't like blue but just that I am very picky about whether patterns and colours fit together. I decided to use the sketch from Sketch Saturday. I wasn't sure if I would manage to get the left hand shaped piece to work but I am reasonably happy with it. I used the Paisley Cuttlebug folder to emboss a piece of blue core'dinations card. The paler blue is an anonymous scrap! The base card is a dark blue pearlised card from my local paper mill. The edge of the core'dinations is distressed and edged with blue. The lovely Daisy image from Sugar Nellies was watercoloured and the edge of the card distressed and edged with Antique Linen Distress Ink. The image was then mounted on core'dinations that had been through the Cuttlebug in the Swiss Dots folder. A lace strip was added to the left hand side and another piece under the image. I edged the flowers with a China Blue Promarker and added a blue brad. I was just about to add some blue jewels when I realised that if I added eyelets instead I could enter it in the Cute Card Thursday challenge! If the eyelets look wonky it is probably because they are LOL. I'm not sure if the card counts as "vintage" for the Colour Create challenge ? I'm not usually into vintage but I hope it will do.
Now I need to go and see if my chicken curry is ready. Thursday night is curry night in this house!
Thanks for looking and hope you like my efforts. Kat x

Five in One!

I made this card yesterday using the lovely sketch from Friday Sketchers. Iused the colours Rose Pink and Lime from Passion for Promarkers. The colours also fit the Papertake Weekly challenge. I coloured this lovely Tilda image with Promarkers and added buttons to fit in with the Just Magnolia challenge. I had to colour the lime buttons with the lime Promarker as I had no lime buttons! I stamped swirls on the pink paper (which also has little splodges of lime) with lime green. Swirls fits the Spoon Full of Sugar challenge. I'm exhausted just thinking managing five challenges in one card :) I cut out rectangles and ovals both plain and scalloped with my Cuttlebug and Nestabilities. My base card is pink and the pink Bo Bunny paper is matted on lime green. The other DP is Basic Grey and I edged it with pink. I only have a little bit left so I hope I can find some more as I love it. The white card is edged with lime green (hardly visible here) and matted on the same pink as the base card. The flowers are Prima and I edged the petals with lime green and stickled the edges. Buttons, brads and jewels are from my stash.
Promarkers used: Hair -sandstone, cinnamon, cocoa, burnt umber and umber.
Skin - ivory and blossom
Top - rose pink, blossom and magenta
Shorts - lime and meadow green
Socks - meadow green
Trainers - rose pink and blossom
Highlights - Inkssentials white gel pen
Think I need a coffee now!

Hope you like this and thanks for looking and any kind comments you leave. Kat x

I've Won!!

I'm so excited! I just checked my blog updates and discovered that I've won last week's challenge on Papertake Weekly. I've won a download from Pink Petticoat. I can hardly wait to check out the Pink Petticoat website to see what I can choose!! I'm a very new blogger, but I've entered lots of challenges and this is the first time I've won anything so I am really chuffed. Can you tell LOL?

Spoon Full of Sugar and Penny Black Saturday Challenge.

I made this last night (Monday) for the Spoon Full of Sugar Challenge. Unfortunately I couldn't get a decent photo so I am having to try again this morning. I am probably too late now but I am in plenty of time for the Penny Black Saturday Challenge. This week the theme is soft and sweet. I think the doggie with the rose image is very sweet lol. I watercoloured the doggie as usual. The papers are a favourite of mine from Basic Grey and the flowers and brads are from my stash.
Thanks for looking, Kat x

Build a Card

This is the card I made for the Stamptacular Sunday build a card challenge which was great fun. I used the sketch from Papertake Weekly. My base card is blue; I have an oval; you can see my matting; the bear in his car from Hobby Arts is my stamped image; I have added two more colours in my DP; I have added ribbon across the middle of the card; do you like my heart charm hanging beside the flowers? I stickled the flowers and the flowers on the card and added a friendship themed sentiment. As usual I have used my Cuttlebug and Nestabilities. The build a card blog hop was a different way to make a card and I found the best way was to go through all the steps first and take it from there.
Hope you like my card, Kat x

Sunday 19 July 2009

Next Level 3D

This is my entry for the Next Level challenge where the image has to be 3D'd. I have stamped and watercoloured the Gorjuss Girl image from Sugar Nellies twice. I cut out one of them and layered it with foam pads. The DP is the beautiful Basic Grey Wisteria. I cut circles with my Cuttlebug and Nestabilities. The backing paper is a lovely matching blue from HOTP Retro cardstock. The flowers were punched out of the cardstock and the floral Wisteria paper. Jewels and ribbon from my stash.
Hope you have a look and tell me what you think! Kat x

Mojo Monday Challenge.

I'm a bit disappointed with this picture now that I've uploaded it! On my camera screen it looks quite bright but here it looks a bit washed out. The background paper is from Daisy Bucket and the plain lime green is the other side. The pale blue is Bazill and the dark blue which is pearlized is from my local paper mill. The stripey one is a scrap that seemed to fit colourwise. I made this card for a teenage nephew - actually a great nephew - that makes me sound old but I was quite young when his Mum, my eldest niece was born. I didn't have anything I thought was suitable for a teenage boy. I'm struggling cos he will be 14 and is the youngest of three brothers so anything suitable has already been used. Then I thought of digi downloads. I found Mikey on the Charmed Cards and Crafts website. Fantastic! You get a whole lot of downloads for your money and this is Music Mikey. I had to do a bit of fiddling around to get him from A4 to what looked a useful size. Amazing the things you learn to do when you start blogging lol. I watercoloured the image and layered on two shades of blue. I am quite pleased with how the card has turned out I don't think he'll think yuk and hide it!! I am also pleased that I have got it made early for his birthday and I can send it with the new home card I posted already.

Thanks for looking and hopefully leaving a comment. Kat x

New Home Card.

I need a new home card for my niece who is lucky enough to live on the beautiful island of Lewis. So I used the sketch from Stamptacular Sunday to make a very simple card. I watercoloured the image from Squigglestamps.com. The DP is Bloom and Grow from My Mind's Eye. I layered with red and pale green to match the colours in the DP. Heart brad, lace border, jewels and ribbon are from my stash. I love this paper and think it goes well with the stamp.

Sketch Saturday and Cute Card Thursday.

I was just a bit too late getting this card finished to get a reasonable photo! Neither of these photos shows the real colour of the papers or card. In the 2nd and 3rd photos the top flower is similar to the backing card which is right. In real life the flower and card are a sort of aubergine like the parcels on the backing paper and the card matches the colour pretty well. The other colour is blue, quite light. The jewels on the sentiment, corners of image and bottom left are aubergine too. I watercoloured this cute Penny Black image and made his scarf light blue and aubergine to match the papers. I stickled the smow under his feet and the snowflakes. I used my Cuttlebug to cut out the mats. The papers are old ones from Dovecraft. The top flower is a lovely Prima and the other one is made up from my stash. Brads, ribbon and jewels from my stash.
Saturday now and I've added another photo. I think this one taken this morning shows the colours of the papers, card and flowers better. Last night when I tried it wasn't too late to take a photo but the weather was so bad that it was too dark and it was too wet to go outside lol.
I am really going to have to do something about my lack of photography skills.
Thanks for looking, Kat x

One for Friday Sketchers and Whiff of Joy.

I'm writing this late Thursday night but will have to post it on Friday morning as I can only get a photo of my card looking blue. It is in shades of lavender! Needless to say. My favourite kind of colours. I am quite pleased with how it looks but I think that is because it is made in colours I love. I have used the sketch from Friday Sketchers and a Whiff of Joy stamp. I nearly forgot that the Whiff of Joy challenge is supposed to include paper piercing. You might not be able to see it but it is round the image! Luckily I remembered in time lol. The papers are Basic Grey and the card is from the Core'dinations lavender family. The flowers, brads and gems are from my stash. The image is watercoloured. I would like to use my Prismas if I could get time to get some of them sharpened!!

Hope you like it. Thanks for looking, Kat x
Colours look better now but you definitely can't see the paper piercing. It is there, honest!

Just Magnolia and PfP.

I'm not sure if I like this card, but too late now! I used the lovely sketch from Just Magnolia and the colours, ruby and gold, and the added option of jewels and gems from Passion for Promarkers. DP is Wild Asparagus from My Mind's Eye which is lovely. The ruby and gold card is from my stash. The base card is ruby and I have also used my Cuttlebug and divine swirls folder to emboss ruby card for a panel. I used Promarkers to colour one of my favourite Tilda images and stickled her wing. I have been a bit ambitious and tried cutting out Tilda using the out of the frame nestie technique, which I found on Rach's blog. Thanks Rach. I might have found it easier if I had tried it for the first time with a square or rectangular nestie. I had to put a bit of thought into it lol. I cut out a tag with my tag punch, which is very useful! Ribbons, brads, buttons, gems and jewels are from my stash.
Promarkers used: Dress - Pastel Yellow, Mustard and Gold
Rose, sash and bow - Ruby and Poppy
Tights - Ivory
Skin - Ivory and Blush
Hair - Warm Grey 1-5
Leaves - Grass Green

Sugar Bowl Challenge

I bought this My Mind's Eye Bloom and Grow paper from Simply Create at Alford last week and I have been dying to use it. I think it goes quite well with the Gorjuss Girl from Sugar Nellies. Anyone who has Bloom and Grow will know that this paper is nice and bright in real life. I don't normally like orange at all but I love this paper. I coloured the image with Promarkers. I used my Cuttlebug and nestabilities to cut out the rectangle and scalloped rectangle. The base card is orange and all the papers are layered onto a greeny turquoise, which matches the papers really well. I punched a tag for the sentiment and added a button. For some bling I stickled the flowers, which I think you can just see, and the brad. I aso added some orange jewels.
Hope you like it and thanks for looking, Kat x

Tuesday 14 July 2009

Whiff of Joy and Colour Create.

I coloured this beautiful Whiff of Joy image, which is one of my favourites, with Promarkers. I used a pale green base card and layered Sandylion, Basic Grey and The Paper Company papers. Iused my Cuttlebug and Nestabilities to cut out the ovals. The plain ovals are inked round the edge (maybe not very obvious) with yellow. Flowers, brad, jewels and ribbon are from my stash. I used the sketch from Whiff of Joy and the colours from Colour Create. I had a lot of bother with the colours ie choosing papers to go with the colours chosen for Colour Create. I think it came together after I coloured the image and I quite like the card now. Not my usual colours but it looks quite fresh and summery.
Hope someone likes it! Thanks for looking, Kat x

Passion for Promarkers and Cute Card Thursday.

Ive succeeded in uploading my pics at last! First of all I accidentally added the same pic twice then when I tried again I just got error messages a couple of times. Good thing I am not at the last minute for Passion for Promarkers again. I enjoyed using the sketch and I love the effect of the two colours together. My base card is cocoa and I have also used it for layering. I used the Cute as Cupcakes stamp by Mary Hall from Sugar Nellies. This is only the second time I have used my Promarkers so it is not very good, but I'm learning, I hope! I've used Basic Grey Wisteria papers which I love. I embossed blue card with my Cuttlebug and the script folder and cut out ovals with my nesties. What did we do before nesties. The colours of Promarkers I used are, cornflower blue, china blue, blue pearl, cocoa, umber, poppy, pastel pink, blush and ivory. The flowers and brads are from my stash.I tried taking a close up of the image but it is not very clear. I thought this card would also do for the Cute Card Thursday challenge which is "Thank You Miss." I like it when a card does more than one challenge. Hope everyone had a nice weekend. At least Monday is over. Monday is a long day cos it is the day I usually work all day - yuk.
Thanks for looking, Kat x

The Next Level and Truly Scrumptious.

I've watercoloured another Gorjuss Girl from Sugar Nellies. I love the Gorjuss Girls. I have just got the third set yesterday so now all I need is an excuse to ink them up. As if I need an excuse! The great sketch and colours are from Truly Scrumptious and I've added buttons and bows for this week's Next Level challenge. Does the flower count as bows as it is made from "bows" of ribbon!? The paper is Hint of Pink from Dovecraft - I love this paper lol. The ribbons, brad, jewels and buttons are from my stash .
Thanks for looking. Kat x

Christmas in July.

Guess this is my first Christmas card lol. I have made it for the Stamptacular Sunday challenge - Christmas in July. I used the sketch from Mojo Monday and watercoloured a Penny Black image and swirls for the Penny Black Saturday challenge. The background is the divine swirls cuttlebug folder. I stickled the hats and snow. The papers are from Craft Creations and the pearls and button are from my stash. The flower was punched out of the same papers. I was just having a nosey at Juls' blog and she mentioned that the challenge on Papertake weekly was favourite things. I think my beloved Penny Black stamps could qualify for that lol.

Sketch Saturday Challenge 58

This is my attempt for this week's Sketch Saturday Challenge. I've watercoloured a Gorjuss Girl from Sugar Nellies. The papers, ribbons, flowers and brads are from my stash.
Yesterday I had a lovely day out with my friend. We went to Simply Create at Alford and bought some lovely new goodies. I bought lovely My Mind's Eye papers, charms, buttons, more papers, a couple of little stamps and a magazine. The magazine is Dutch but I can look at the lovely pictures and get some new ideas lol. On the way home we went to the Papeterie at Dyce to buy some envelopes and came out with more than that, needless to say.
Thanks for looking Kat x

Hat Trick!

I think I've made it a hat trick. I used the sketch from Sketch and Stash with the added option of ribbons. Iused my new Tilda with Cherry Dress and a charm for the Just Magnolia Challenge, and hearts for the Spoon Full of Sugar challenge. The papers are Wild Raspberry from K & Co. I watercoloured Tilda and added stickles to her wings. Ribbons and brads from my stash.
Thanks for looking, Kat x

Whiff of Joy and Truly Scrumptious.

I used the sketch from the Truly Scrumptious challenge and watercoloured this lovely Whiff of Joy Image and chalked around the edge. This is probably not visible at all on the photo! The papers I used were from Cloud Nine and so is the sentiment. Flowers, brads and ribbon from my stash. I am also entering the card in the Whiff of Joy challenge which is to use three patterned papers, three flowers and one ribbon.
Thanks for looking, Kat x

This is a bit last minute!

This is really at the last minute for the Passion for Promarkers Challenge, but quite early for Friday Sketchers! I used the sketch for Friday Sketchers and the colours Moss and Poppy for the Passion for Promarkers Challenge. I coloured the Sugar Nellies image with Promarkers. The papers are from Paper Adventures and Cosmo Cricket. The flowers, brad and jewels are from my stash. The card was made yesterday but I did not try to take a photo in the evening after wasting my time before! Unfortunately I was not much better this morning and then I suddenly found a position where the photo shows the pattern on the papers. They are very pale but were the only suitable green ones I could find in my local craft shop! The base one is meant to be like that it is just marbly it is not my bad photography. This is the first time I have tried using Promarkers and I think I need to get card that is more suitable for using them!

Thanks for looking. Kat x

The Next Level and a Spoon Full of Sugar Challenges.

I've been having a busy day posting lol. I've been so busy posting that this is the only card I've actually made today! This one is for the Next Level Challenge and the Spoon Full of Sugar Challenge. I'm getting used to the idea of looking at the challenges that interest me and looking to see if a card will do for more than one. I've used my favourite My Mind's Eye papers - again. I cut out the circles with my Nestabilities. The image, which I water coloured, is Flower Bear from Hobby Arts. The Bear is one of my favourite ranges - he does all sorts of different things! Little pearls, brad and flowers from my stash. Now I will have to do my ironing. I usually have to work all day on a Monday but tomorrow is a local holiday so if I do my ironing now I can have a day crafting tomorrow. Fantastic!!! Thanks for looking. Kat xx

Mojo Monday Challenge.

Hi it's me again! This is my card for the Mojo Monday Challenge. I have used papers from the Dovecraft "Hint of Pink" range and my Nestabilities for the scallops. I love my nesties! Ribbon, flowers and jewels from my stash. Thanks for looking. Kat x

Card for Three Challenges.

I started this post last night but the photo was so bad I took another one this morning. I am going to enter it in three challenges. I used the sketch from the Sketch and Stash Challenge. The image is a Penny Black stamp and I've used red, white and blue and I've added faux stitching for the Cute Card Thursday Challenge.
I used some neglected starry paper from a DCWV stack and an animal stamp from Penny Black. The scallops were cut out with Nestabilities and the faux stitching is done with an Inkssentials pen. Flowers, brads and ribbons from my stash.

Sketch Saturday Challenge.

Here's my first card for the Sketch Saturday Challenge. I watercoloured the lovely "Daisy" image from Sugar Nellies. The papers are from Basic Grey and the ribbon and flower are from my stash.

A Better Photo?

This Is what the card in the previous post should have looked like if I had been sensible and taken the photo during the day. Memo to self - don't leave things to the last moment and don't try to take photos in the evening! The colours are much nicer in real life, they look really washed out here! I guess photography is not what I'm best at. Kat x

Friday Sketcher No. 58

I'm really disappointed with this photo. It is really bad because I tried to take it at night and no matter what I tried I had to delete photo after photo! I really wanted to enter this challenge as I really liked the sketch and I had worked hard to make a nice card. So here it is.

I used one of my favourite Gorjuss Girl stamps from Sugar Nellies. I used my Nestabilities to cut out an oval and a scalloped oval and stamped her on the oval and watercoloured her. I used some of my favourite My Mind's eye papers. I inked round the edges of all the papers with blue. Flowers and brads from my stash. Thanks for looking. Kat xx

My First Entry For the Just Magnolia Challenge.

Here is my first entry for the Just Magnolia Challenge. Sorry the photos are not very good!
This is a closer view of Tilda.
I used nice lilac card from my local paper mill for the base card. Then layered Daisy Bucket papers on Core'dinations card from the Lavender family. I used my Nestabilities to cut out a white circle and a lavender scalloped circle. Tilda is watercoloured, cut out and layered with foam pads on the circle. The flowers were cut out using flower punches using the same papers. Brads and jewels from my stash.
I think I have been bitten by the challenge bug now. I entered the Sugar Bowl Challenge last week and today I have been browsing around looking for other challenges I might be able to enter.
Weather still fantastic here in North East Scotland just a bit north of Aberdeen! Thanks for looking. ( I hope!) Kathryn xx
